Scully decided to make the best of her impromptu day off. Finally tomorrow she'd be able to put everyone's chase to an end. With a few well placed words, it'll soon be spread around that she was dating someone. But the more problem she was having now, was attempting to get the damn marker marks off her lips and eyes. After lunch time shower she Scully decided to get into her robe, microwave some popcorn and sit on the couch to watch an old chic flick that was lying around. She had just put the tape in, pressed play and sat on the couch.
It's almost a hundred percent guarantee that when you just get comfortable to watch a movie, just when you get past the previews and to the start of the movie, someone will knock on the door to interrupt you.
KNOCKKNOCKKNOCK!
It never fails... Scully put down the popcorn and went to answer the door. She peeked through the peephole to see Agent Tony standing there. The TV was loud enough to be heard from the other side of the door so that it was pointless to pretend that she wasn't home.
"This better be important Agent Tony." Scully said.
"I heard you were sick." Tony said in a caring voice, "So I brought you over some soup from the deli just down the street." He handed him a large bowl, "It's chicken soup. Heard it's really good for when you're really sick. Agent Mulder told us you were sick."
Scully did her best sickly cough, "Yeah... I think it was something I ate." She got out in between coughs.
"Okay." Tony replied keeping some distance, "May I suggest you keep fluids up and get plenty of rest."
"Yeah thanks, I will." Scully assured him, "I just hope I feel better for my date tomorrow night."
"Date?" Tony said, "With who?"
"A boyfriend. My boyfriend's name is Dennis. We're having a nice romantic dinner."
"Oh." Tony said defeatedly.
After Tony left and about ten minutes into the movie when there was a knock at the door again. Scully couldn't believe this. Was it going to be like this all day? A terrible gut feeling told her that probably was going to be the case. Scully cringed as she open the door to Pendrell.
"Agent Scully." Pendrell said cheerfully, "I can't stay for too long... Just seeing how you were feeling." He said, "So... How you feeling?"
"Not good Agent Pendrell." Scully answered, "Just trying to get rest but people keep knocking on my door."
"I'm sorry Agent Scully." Pendrell said, "But I brought around this chicken soup for you to enjoy. I brought it from down the street."
"Thank you Agent Pendrell." Scully said, "Hope it makes me feel better for my date tomorrow."
"You have a date?" Pendrell's jaw dropped, "I'll see you when you feel well enough to come back to work.
They must have had their clocks set automatically, because ten minutes had passed again when there was another knock at the door. She almost screamed as she stood up and answered the door. This time it was Agent Jack standing at the door.
"Hi Jack." She greeted.
Jack couldn't help but smile, "Since you're sick, I'll let you have that one... Here's some chicken soup from down the street. I know, I know you have a date tomorrow night. But if it doesn't pan out, here's my private home number." Jack put a paper on the soup bowl containing his number, "Well, just in case."
"I don't think so." Scully handed the note back, "But thanks anyway."
Scully shook her head. This was like being in some poorly written TV show. Everything just seems to be going nuts and there wasn't a long wait till the doorbell rung once again. This time it was Agent Myers standing at the door when she opened it.
"I was going to bring you some hot chicken soup Agent Scully." Myers said, "But the chef there informed me that he'd sold out of them."
It took all her willpower not to laugh at this... She still tried to act and look sick, "That's alright Agent Myers. It seems Chicken soup is very popular." She said with a straight face.
"Well I may not have any soup." Myers said as he walked past Scully and into her apartment, "But I can take care of you. Let Doc Myers take care of you."
"Out." Scully pointed to the door.
"Oh come on... It's the least I can do." Myers ignored her, "I know lately you've been pestered by some agents."
"Out!" Scully said loudly.
"At least let me make sure you're alright." Myers continued to ignore her.
"Out! Out! Out!" Scully shouted.
"I brought my own thermometer." Myers pulled one out from his pocket being persistent as per usual.
"What part of out are you failing to understand Agent Myers?" Scully asked in a very annoyed tone.
"Maybe the O... And the T." Myers found himself being pushed out into the hallway, "And actually I don't really understand U either." He laughed as he left the apartment.
Scully waited at the restaurant table patiently. Dennis Bryson but there was no sign of him anywhere. She knew that there would be someone in here spying on her for the other agents which was what she wanted to have. But so far Dennis wasn't anywhere to be found. Scully looked up in shock when she saw a woman in a green shirt and black dress sit down at the empty chair in front of her.
"Can I help you?" Scully asked as she still looked around.
"You asked me to meet you here remember?" The woman said as she put the purse down.
"Dennis?" Scully stared wide-eyed.
"Actually... I prefer Denise if you don't mind." Dennis took her hand in his, "Long story."
Scully shook her head as she held his hand in hers, "It's good to see you and all but what happened to you Dennis?"
Agent Michelle Harp hadn't planned on being the spy, but since the others had chipped in to pay for her meal and champagne there was no way she was going to refuse. But the sight that greeted her was beyond belief. Scully had come on a romantic date with a woman. It was unfathomable. She dialed the number on the cell to Myers.
"George." Harp almost said it too loud, "You did say that Scully was coming on a date tonight didn't you?"
"Yes Michelle." Myers said.
"You're not going to believe this." Harp said, "But Agent Scully is on a romantic dinner with another woman. She's a lesbian."
"Yeah right." Myers didn't believe it. There was no way that that was possible.
"Hang on a sec." Harp said... She raised her mobile phone and took a picture and sent it to Myers' phone, "I've sent a picture."
"My God!" Myers exclaimed after taking the time to thoroughly examine the picture before the phone went dead.
