Chapter 5- Here Comes the Sun

Maria was tired of having to watch her friend struggle with her feelings for the past month.

"You know Chy I'm headed to see DL for the weekend you should come along!"

"Why?"

"Leland!" she sang out."

You're going to make me open the can of worms aren't you?"

"Yes because I love you!"

"Yeah well I hate you then… I have I mentioned I hate worms they're icky."Maria laughed lightly

"Come on girl think of the airplane as a giant can opener… I know you'll always wonder what could have been if you don't go!"

"Ok I'll go…" Maria looked up when Chyler sounded teary. Tears were falling from chyler's eyes quickly "Whoa what? Why the tears?"

"I saw some bottle blonde with fake tits come out of john's room this morning it's been bugging me all day… I know we are on a break or broken up or what the fuck ever but seriously its only been a month did he really get me out of his system that quickly!" she was crying harder now hiccupping every so often. "Men are assholes every one of them!" Maria stated emphatically as she hugged her tightly.

In the Hawaii airport

"Does Leland know I'm here?"

"Nope thought I'd let you surprise him." They grabbed their bags and went to the bail office.

In the car

They pulled up to the bail bonds office Duane lee smiled when he saw Maria approach with Chyler.

"Leland I think someone might be here for you." Duane lee said while opening the door for the girls.

He kissed Maria on the cheek

"You made good time."

"Yeah the flight was on time for once." Leland emerged from the back of the office to see Chyler standing before him."What are you doing here Chyler?"

"Mini Vacation."

"Where's John?"

"Not here we are on a break."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be it was a mutual choice but anyway we just came by to tell you guys we made it in before we went to take a nap."

"Okay would you like to go dinner tonight?"

"Yeah sure why not."

"Seven Okay."

Chyler wore a bright pink and black tribal printed round necked mini dress and Ivory python and black patent leather trim Christian louboutin heels. She pulled her hair back in low ponytail with her bangs swept to the side. She put on light make up and hoped she looked ok. She turned to Maria.

"Do I look ok?"

"Girl you look fabulous as always… don't worry honey you'll knock him over you always do the man practically drools at the sight of you."

"So does John's nephew that doesn't always mean something."

"That's because when Drake sees your boobs he thinks food He is after all six months old." Chyler laughed

"I guess that's why men are obsessed with boobs it's ingrained in them from birth!"

"Listen I'm staying with Duane Lee tonight so feel free to bring him back here if you want to and we will dish the dirt over breakfast right?"

"Duh as if I would ever leave you outta the loop!" There was a knock at the door.

"That's him um… call me if you need anything! I love you and have fun tonight!"

"You too and I love you too!" Maria kissed her cheek

"And try not to think of him tonight!" "

I'll try!" they opened the door and there stood both Chapman men

At the restaurant

"So Chy how's life?"

"Busy, complicated, but other than that fine! How bout you?"

"Pretty much the same… listen what happened between us I hope it didn't cause problems."

"Nah it just showed us we needed space."

"Well whatever got you here I'm glad it did!"

They ate then decided to walk on the beach. Leland watched Chyler bend down to retrieve a shell from the sand. He held her shoes for her.

"Chyler out of all the places you could have gone for space why here why with me?"

"I'm curious as to what it is that draws me to you… besides Maria was right no matter how much I love John and I do I'll make no bones about that… anyways I owe it to myself to figure this out." He held her hand.

"I've been meaning to ask you what this ring means." He said looking at her claddagh ring.

"Um… well lets see John is half Irish half Italian and in Irish tradition you give this to the one you love the hands symbolize friendship the heart love and the crown loyalty if you wear it facing out you belong to no one and if it faces you. You are taken…anyways it belonged to John's mom first and she never had girls so she gave it to John to give to me. Knowing even then that we loved each other." She laughed lightly. "We thought we hid it so well."

"It still faces you…"

"I can't make myself take it off…"

"Take your time I'm in no hurry.""

Okay." Somehow, they had made their way to a little cave tucked into a private little corner.

"Would you like to go in nothing is in there I've been here before."

"Oh so this is your little hide away?"

"You could say that."

"Oh so you planned to seduce me in a cave in the dark?"

"Well I can build a fire there's a hole on top."She laughed again that laugh that always got him.

"Seduction cave man style why not." He led her in and she found a freshly laundered blanket on the ground a few stubby old candles and makings for a fire

"She shook her thoughts of him away back into recesses of her mind sure to haunt her at an equally inconvenient moment he was setting next to her now on the blanket. He was looking rather dashing in tight fitting black slacks, a maroon dress shirt the sleeves rolled up slightly to reveal his tattoos though only partially. The first few buttons of the shirt were undone revealing throat his collarbone and part of his chest.
