Post TDK.

As I unlocked my apartment door, I felt as if someone was behind me. I could feel someone's presence other than my own. But right when I turned around, I didn't see anyone.

"Weird", I thought.

My apartment didn't have it's usual homey feel. I didn't want to be here, at least not by myself. I threw my bag down on my couch and turned the tv on only to find more of what happened earlier.

"Here at Gotham's Elite dance Academy the once pronounced dead DA Harvey Dent held hostages at gunpoint. One hostage particularly was the newly hired teacher Abigail Matthews, who had been recently spotted with billionaire playboy, Bruce Wayne." Some news anchor reported.

"Will anybody forget about that!!!" I yelled out, even though no one was there to hear it.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

I grabbed the remote and put the tv on mute and listened for the noise again.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

Yea, I admit it. I'm scared.

I grabbed my large umbrella from beside the door and held it like a baseball bat and walked towards the noise. As I got closer it sounded like it came from my balcony.

"It's probably a bird or something" I said trying to reassure myself. It didn't help.

I open the door to a perfectly empty balcony. I sat the umbrella down and breathed a sigh of relief. There was no one there.

As I walked back into my apartment I caught something out of the corner of my eye. I turned my eyes towards it and found what or who had been tapping my door.

A black figure crouched in a squatting position, stared back at me through the balcony doors. I didn't jump or even flinch. I wasn't scared, actually relieved. I'm not so sure why, though.

Everything at that moment felt like slow motion. I walked back to the balcony and slid the door open while keeping my eyes glued to this figure. It didn't move from its position when I stepped in front of it.

"What does Harvey Dent want with you?" the raspy voice said.

"You tell me." I responded. We just stared at each other for a few moments before I spoke up.

"You're batman, aren't you?" I asked.

"Yes." And with that he leaped off my balcony.

I didn't move for a while, I just stood there trying to calculate what had just happened. I wanted to call someone and tell them everything, but I was scared that if I did then I would be taken to the police station to file a report since batman was a wanted criminal, so they say.

To my luck someone called me, instead.

"Hello," I said picking up the phone.

"I'm sure you've had a rough day and the last thing you want is to talk to me." He said.

"Actually Bruce, I'm glad you called. I'm still a bit frazzled and a bit scared…"

"You want to go get coffee and talk about it?" He asked.

"Yea, that'd be great. Meet you at Starbuck's?

"I'll be there."

I grabbed my purse, again, and headed out the door. Starbuck's wasn't a very long walk from my apartment, so I was there in no time. When I walked in, I was surprised to see that Bruce beat me he sat with a pair of jeans and a black polo on and two cups of coffee sitting in front of him on the table.

"Good evening," he said.

"Good evening? Bruce, it's like 2am."

"Good morning?"

"I guess that's better." I said while grabbing one of the cups.

"So, tell me about your day?"

"Oh, you haven't seen it plastered all over the news?"

"No, who watches the news anyway." He said with a smirk on his face. I began to tell him everything that had gone on during my day, well almost everything. I didn't even mention batman.

"Bruce." I said as he looked up at me, "What if he comes after me?"

"I won't let that happen." He said sternly almost in a different voice.

"What are you gonna do pay him off?" I said trying to make myself laugh. It didn't work, it actually made me feel even worse. If he did come after me, who would save me? Batman?

"He's not after money." He said. "He wants revenge."

"For Rachel?" I asked, causing Bruce to jump a bit and stare at me with an unreadable expression.

"How do you know about Rachel?" He asked.

"I watch the news."
