I do not own NCIS.

Just so you know, I was in a blue mood, so, ya. Don't want to risk getting sad, do not read. Thanks, enjoy.

July 15th. He would never forget that day.

July 15th was the day he decided he would tell her his feelings for her.

It was the day they got a case that would affect NCIS for years to come.

The day he and the team had entered the building to question the manager.

It was the day that an employee decided he was going to confront his co-workers. With a gun.

It was the day that he heard a shot and came running only to have security tell him he could not go into the room.

It was the day that the FBI took over the case.

It was the day that Ziva David died.

He would never forget July 20th.

That was the day of her funeral.

That was the day he told the Director he was leaving and put DiNozzo in charge again, just like last time. Except last time he got to say good-bye to Ziva. He saw it as a resignation, but everyone else saw it as a vacation. He would return eventually, his drive to help others was too strong for him not to.

He left for Mexico the next day.

August 25th. He had been ignoring Abby and Tony's calls. He had given up.

He would never forget this day for one reason. It was the day he saw her again.

Walking down the beach toward him was the woman that had saved his life many times. That had learned to be an investigator. That had died. Walking toward him was the woman he loved. Ziva David.

He had thought he was dreaming or dead. As she walked down the beach, he had passed out because of the alcohol he had consumed.

When he woke up, he thought he it had been dreaming. However, walking into the kitchen, he was greeted with the sight of one Ziva David cooking him breakfast.

She had explained to him that it had been a setup. A way to flush out many people she had driven underground. One thing she had not been planning on, was missing him so much.

They talked long into the night and spent the next several days together. Ziva, however, forgot to mention one thing to him. One terrorist had gotten away, slipped through the fingers of the FBI.

August 30th. Many people at NCIS remember this day. Each for a different reason.

August 30th was the day Ziva David died for real.

August 30th was the day one of the best investigators NCIS had ever seen died. Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

August 30th, a small house in Mexico blew up, killing the two people staying there. The investigation revealed a bomb was planted under the house.

Later that week, a man walked into the FBI headquarters in Washington and confessed to killing Agent Gibbs and Officer David.

September 11th. Anthony DiNozzo, Timothy McGee, Abigail Sciuto, Dr. Donald Mallard, Tobias Fornell, and many others attended their funerals that day. They had chosen this day for a reason.

September 11th was a day great sorrow for our country. That was why they had chosen this day. Both Ziva and Gibbs had given willingly put themselves in harm's way for their country. Ziva for both of her countries, Israel and America. They had given their lives for others and they deserved to be remembered as the heroes they were.

Both had served their country. Both had then risked their lives for their team. Both died because they were willing to hunt those that most fear.

There are many days that the Major Case Response Team remembers, many things they honor. They honor the days they spent together as a team. They honor the days they spent getting to know the secretive Mossad Officer. The years they spent learning from their mentor. But most of all, they honor the day their friends died.

"All that it necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing"- Edmund Burke
