"How long has this been going on for?"
Edward haboured a glance at Mustang. "Since I've restored Al."
The Colonel didnt say anything for several terse moments. "Why didnt you say anything?"
Edward cast him a withering look. "What could you have possibility have done?"
Roy ignored the blond alchemists question instead ask a question of his own. "Is that why you left the military?"
"I was going to leave the military eventually, you knew that." Edward pointed out.
"Yes I did realize this but still it is very uncommon for an alchemist to leave the miltary in the middle of the research."
Roy looked over in earnest but Edward looked away. "Maybe I was finished and you just didnt notice."
Roys face darkened, as he try to keep his temper in check. "I know you werent finish, I had your notes."
Ed looked surprise. "I didnt realize that you had my journal, but it makes sense."
Roy blinked confused. "It makes sense?"
Ed nodded. "Yeah, you were my commanding officer. It makes sense that you would have my journal."
"Why did you stop then?"
"Al needed me," Ed confirmed. "I couldnt leave him alone anymore."
"Anymore?" The Colonel asked.
Ed didnt say anything in response. Roy pulled Ed closer. "What do you mean anymore?"
Ed sighed. "Something went wrong."
Roys eyes widen in surprise. "With the transmutation?"
Edward gave a slight nod at the Colonels reply. "I couldnt ask for your help, how was I sup-"
Edward was cut off by an kiss from the Colonel. It was the most awkard kiss he had in his entire life, maybe it was the height difference or perhaps the way that the Colonels hands felt like bricks on his shoulders.
"I would have figured something out," the Colonel whispered.
Ed smiled and laughed. "Why bother trying to prove yourself when you so obviously dont need to."
"Human falliable," Roy replied before leaning in for another kiss. Edward did nothing to halt the Colonels progress or to stop him.
"You know, I always wanted to kiss you," Roy admitted.
Edwards eyes fluttered close as the Colonel came closer. "I wouldnt have stopped you."
"Well isnt that a surprise I always thought you hated me," Roy explained.
Ed grinned. "Hate. Thats an interesting word for it. I think hate was the last thing I was feeling."
