In Slaughter Race, Vanellope and Shank's group were dashing down the other avatars on the dry sandy road who were speeding to their destination to reach the game's task.
Shank smirks as she says "My God, their all too easy." To Vanellope causing her to laugh. They eventually get the players shot and curse words erupt from a microphone as they returned to the home screen.
"Good game?"
"Totally!" Vanellope exclaimed as she fist-bumped Shank. Then a reminder hits her and her eyes widened.
She just remembered.
"Quick quick! Does anyone have a watch?"
"Six thirteen, why?" Shank asked giving her a confused look.
"Crap! Sorry Shank I completely forgot I was supposed to visit the arcade today." She jabbered as she stuffed her belongings into the pockets of her sweater, and double-checking for the half of the medal she made.
"Wait! But we have more people-"
"I'll be back in a while! Hold my car for me!" She yelled, already being halfway across the street as she glitched out of the game.
It was Felix and Calhoun's eighth anniversary together. Ralph said he wouldn't mind if she wasn't able to make it tonight, but she felt like coming back to the penthouse. After all, it's a little annoying to see beginner players driving around a car for five minutes everyday until they can't keep up with Shank anymore, and cursing about it over their mics.
She reached the arcade for the first time in what felt like forever, reminiscing on the white shiny floor of Game Central Station and looking around for Fix-it Felix Jr.
She skipped her way to the train station and got into the game. She could already hear the Nicelanders laughing and big lights flashing everywhere, and even got a sight of the other Sugar Rush racers on the top floor.
Overwhelmed by the amount of people, the kid stuck her hands in her pockets and took a deep breath. She rang the doorbell and was answered by Felix.
"Hey, Vanellope" He greeted warmly as he walked with her inside the apartment.
"Hey kids, look who came by!"
She didn't even get a chance to give them a greeting as the other racers fought over who should hug her first and being shaken up excitedly by Candlehead.
"Give her some room."
"Shut up."
"You shut up!"
"Look, Look, We can all hang out together, how about that?" Vanellope stated, attempting to calm down steam and putting both her hands up a bit.
"Okay, but you're gonna sit next to me though." Taffyta declared confidently as she took Vanellope by the hand and led the other racers to a round table.
Some were throwing food, others cracked a few jokes, and while Taffyta insisted on brushing her hair for the third time, he scanned people all over the party to look for Ralph.
You'd think it would be easy to find him because he's super tall, but there's about more than a hundred people at this party, and yet it's taking more than a few minutes to recognize him.
"Hey, did Ralph ever show up?" Vanellope asked, slightly turning her head.
"That super tall guy that you always hang out with?"
"Mm-hm."
"Yeah, I think so- Yeah, Yeah, he did."
"Hang on, I'll be right back."
The little girl got up and scooted her way past dozens of socializing people until she saw her gentle giant facing his back on her.
"Hey, Stinkbrain, over here!" She chuckled in her scratchy voice before Ralph tuned around and gave her a sentimental smile.
"Oh hey kid." Before he could say another word, she jumped onto him and buried her face into his chest, hugging him as tight as she could.
"You wanted to come?"
"Yeah, You said the dress Tamora was gonna wear was pretty, and I missed you, especially!"
"Oh, speaking of that." Ralph let Vanellope sit on his shoulder and was bursting with amazement as she saw Tamora's long dress.
"Wow, she really does look pretty!" She idolized, still staring at her light green colored gown.
"Come on, Chumbo! Get me those burgers you promised." She laughed to Ralph as he walked her over to a restaurant box.
"Thank you!" Squeezing the crap out of his neck as she hugged him, she got off his shoulder and pulled him over so they can sit down together.
"How's Slaughter Race by the way?" Ralph asked stuffing a burger in his mouth.
Vanellope turned her head away thinking of an answer, "It's still pretty awesome. There's planes floating in the sky sometimes, but their just for display." She rocked her legs back and forth around her chair.
"...They also made this new bridge that when you drive through it, you get a view of the whole city."
Ralph could tell the excitement coming out of her voice when she spoke about Slaughter Race, which put a smile on his face. But the vibe around him said that there was something off.
The way she spoke about it, as if she was a little unconcerned by what she was talking about. Similar to when she was talking about how predictable Sugar Rush was years before.
"Enough about me though. You?"
Ralph looked to the side. "I don't know, kid. It's all the same stuff."
"Come on, entertain me!"
"Alright, so yesterday me and Felix bet that he could wreck the building better than me. Broke both his hands." Ralph remarked smirking when he remembered him screaming at the top of his lungs like a baby.
"Did he cry?"
Ralph nodded and they both snickered at Felix, who was right across from them, and was talking to his wife and friends with hands behind his back.
