LAST TIME

She squished her eyes closed and her hand gathered into tight fists as she screamed into the night sky "WHY WON'T YOU LET ME DIE!?"

THIS TIME

The night remained silent as if the scream into the darkness had killed all the living creatures in the land. The black night sky was some how getting darker as it seemed that the stars were running away…away from all pain such a small girl held deep inside. The gentle whispering of the wind was the only noise that could be heard as it played with her hair, letting the golden strands drift in it's melancholy breeze. Her soft full ruby lips opened slightly as a whimper escaped. Soon silent tear were streaming down her face in place of the antagonizing sobbing, with soft pained moans of misery accompanying the crying. As she fell forward her hands covered her face and she knelt on her knees and elbows.

A soft rustling was heard out in the forest near by, jerking her from her obvious misery. Choking on her tears she scampered away from the middle of the clearing, the soft ground still warm from where she'd lain just a moment before. Her big dark brown eyes shone with fear as panic held her heart in it's choking embrace.

In the back of her mind, a tiny figure wrapped in white silk cloth fidgeted under the gaze into her own mind. The top of a midnight black head appeared as long pale fingers pulled down gently on the loose fabric wrapped around the creature's body. Long thick black eyelashes lifted upwards revealing big dark purple eyes. A small crystal tear traveled down her porcelain face, falling over her delicate nose, to curl down and rest beside her plush rosy red lips before finally making the final break for the ground as it glided down to her defined jaw line where dripped off lovingly to fall to the soft sheet that was still wrapped around her neck. Her lips opened softly to emit a soft whisper, her eyes filled with urgency and fear.

"Run."
