AN: Happy Valentine's Day! I had planned to upload some more chapters at once but I wasn't happy with how those turned out. I wanted to make it more Millie-focused. I'll make some more chapters to this eventually. Thank you so much for reading!

Today was a special day for Millie and Moxxie, and that day was their anniversary. To celebrate, Moxxie wanted to take her to Ozzie's and sing a song about her. But that didn't turn out well, as love songs weren't exactly welcomed in a club promoting lust. He was halfway through his song before getting kicked out. After that, the two just decided to go home.

Their kids, Jessie and Amanda, were already asleep by the time they got in. Moxxie walked into the bedroom and sat down on his bed. "I'm sorry our anniversary didn't go as planned," he said.

"Aw, don't worry, Mox. From what I heard ya sing, it was super sweet."

"Thank you, Dear."

Millie sat down next to Moxxie and put her arms around him. "Besides, we don't need to go to some fancy place to celebrate our anniversary. We can just be together tonight."

"That does sound good."

"Say, do you remember the first time we met?"

"How could I forget one of the best days of my life."

Millie had just moved to Pride, living in a small apartment on the side of Imp City. Her hair was much longer then, but aside from that, she was mostly the same as she is now. Millie was excited about how much Pride would be different compared to Wrath. She had heard stories about all kinds of demons living up in that ring, so she hoped she could make friends with them and make a name for herself. But to her disappointment, nothing was that much different.

So far, the imps she met were nothing more than scammers and wannabe tough guys like in Wrath. The only difference is that they do the scamming and the killing behind your back here. Millie was looking for work, though, so she hoped the bars in Pride worked the same as they did in Wrath, a place for odd jobs and bounties.

Millie walked into the nearest bar by her apartment. Inside was a large dance floor, and to the left of it was a stage with performers on it. Across the dance floor was the bar itself, which Millie walked towards. As she was ordering a drink, an imp walked up towards her with fuck me eyes. "Hey cutie," he said, "what do ya say we go out back, and I take you for a ride?"

Millie grunted in annoyance. Yep, no different from Wrath. "How about ya fuck off," she said.

"Oh, cute accent. You must be from Wrath. I can definitely work with that." No wasn't going to cut it with this guy, so she punched him straight in the face, immediately knocking him out. That's one thing that was different from Wrath; the imps here were pussies, all talk but no action. She hated people who acted all tough and cool when they were anything but, people that Wrath was filled with. Was there any demon here that didn't feel the need to show off?

The band on the stage stopped playing, and a demon came up to the microphone to thank them for performing. "Up next, we have Moxxie with his rendition of The Music of the Night." After he left the stage, an imp with short white hair and freckles on his cheeks walked on stage with a violin. Millie was surprised at this imp's instrument of choice, as was everyone else in the room. This wasn't the kind of place to play classical music or whatever he's planning to play with that.

"Hello, everyone!" Moxxie said as he sat down next to the mike. "Like he said, this is my rendition of Music of the Night from The Phantom of the Opera!" The demons around Millie began whispering to each other, most of them asking what a phantom of the opera was. Even Millie was intrigued.

He sang as he played the violin. The way he sang captured Millie's attention. It wasn't about fucking or smashing, but it sounded sweet. In addition, she felt calm and enraptured by his singing. She had never felt this way about a song since she was little. This was it, she thought. This was the special demon she was looking for.

The other demons didn't appreciate his song as much as Millie did, though, as one demon began to shout. "Boo! You suck! Get someone else on here!" The other demons joined in on the boo, much to Moxxie's dismay. One demon even got up on stage, broke his violin, and threw him off, making him land face down on the ground. They ignored him as Millie ran to Moxxie and asked if he was ok.

Moxxie raised his head at her. "Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fi-" He looked at her and was surprised at how pretty she was.

"Do you need a hand?" Millie asked as she put out her hand.

"Hm? Oh, yes." He said as he grabbed her arm to pull him up. "Thanks for that. You're the first imp I've met that's helped me out after a performance like that."

"Why's that?"

"What do you mean? Not many demons like the music I produce."

"Well, I liked it."

Moxxie was shocked, "Wait…you liked it?"

"Yep! I thought your voice was pretty."

Moxxie gave the biggest smile he had ever given in a long time. "N-no one's ever complimented my music. Thank you, miss…."

"Mildred, but you can call me Millie."

"Nice to meet you, Millie. Can I offer you a drink?" Millie nodded before they walked over to the bar. "I noticed your accent. Are you from Wrath?"

"Yep! Born and raised!"

"What a coincidence! I was born in Wrath too! Well, I was BORN in Wrath, but I wasn't raised there. I think my parents were on a business trip there or something when they had me. I was raised in Pride." Millie could tell by his physique. He probably wouldn't last a day in Wrath.

Their drinks came as they continued to talk. "So, are you a performer here?" Millie asked.

"Not really. I'm just going from place to place now, performing for anybody that would let me. So far, they always end like today."

"That's a bummer. Do you have a side job or somethin' to pay the bills?"

"As a matter of fact, I do. I work for a company called I.M.P."

"I.M.P?"

"Immediate Murder Professionals. It just started up. We're assassins that go up to the human world and kill anybody a sinner pays us to."

Millie was just as intrigued by this I.M.P company as she was with Moxxie. Especially since their job involves killing, which Millie was really good at. "Wow, that sounds fun."

"It can be at times. If you're interested, we're actually hiring." Moxxie said as he gave her his business card. "It has our phone number and address." He then looked at his watch, "Speaking of which, I have to get into work now. It was lovely meeting you, Millie! I hope to see you again!" He said as he finished his drink and walked out of the bar. Millie said her goodbyes before looking at the card.

Moxxie couldn't stop thinking about her as he walked to work. Her cute smile, her long, black hair, and her mole on the side of her cheek. To think a girl like her would like his music. This was probably the closest thing to heaven he'll be. He had a big smile as he walked into the office, greeting Loona as he came in, who replied by telling him to fuck off. Moxxie sighed as he sat down at his desk, still thinking about Millie.

Blitz walked out of his office and noticed him at his desk. "Oh good, you're here." He said. "How was the bar?"

"Terrible," Moxxie said, still smiling.

"Well, can't say I'm sur-wait. Why do you have that stupid look on your face then?"

"Because I'm in love, sir." Blitz groaned. Out of all the imps that came to apply for I.M.P, why did it have to be a weird one? Moxxie told him about the girl he met at the bar. From the physical characteristics he was thinking about on the way here to how sweet she was. She even liked his music.

"Someone actually liked your song?" Blitz asked. He listened to Moxxie before his job today and had a hard time staying awake as he did.

Moxxie sighed as his smile turned into a frown. "The thing is, she's from Wrath. I don't know if it'll work between us."

"Oh yeah, there's no way it will. Wrath chicks are something else. You can't handle them. But chin up, you'll forget about her soon. And who knows, maybe one day you'll find someone who's just as sad and pathetic as you are."

"Thank you, sir," Moxxie said sarcastically. Why did he even bother telling him this?

"Anything for my first hire! Now get ready. We have a client coming in today. He could be here any minute." As he finished that sentence, the door knocked. Blitz went to answer it, assuming it was their client. To his surprise, it was not. Instead, Millie stood on the other side of the doorway.

"Howdy! I'm Millie. I heard you're looking for folks. I'm here to apply."

Moxxie saw her from his desk and immediately hid under it in panic. He didn't expect her to apply so soon. If he knew she was coming, he would've made himself look nice and not like someone got thrown off a stage. Blitz just escorted Millie to his office, not noticing Moxxie curse to himself under the desk. He sat at his desk as he got a good look at Millie.

"So, you want to join us, huh? Do you know what we do?"

"Y'all are assassins, right? Except you kill people in the human world."

"That's the gist of it. You don't need to know how we do it or whether this is technically illegal. But to answer those, I rented some Grimoire off a librarian, and I don't know if this is legal, but it's best we keep how we do it a secret, you hear me?" Millie nodded. "Anyway, what are some skills you can bring to the job?"

Millie took off the backpack she was carrying and pulled a battleaxe from it. She also pulled out a machete, a baseball bat, and a knife. "I'm good with any weapon I can swing. I can use guns too, but I prefer to get up close and personal."

"Figures, you're a Wrath imp, right?" Millie nodded with a smile. "Having one with us will definitely help. I probably don't need to ask this, but do you have any experience with killing?"

"Of course I do, and not just any experience. You know the Pain Games Massacre?"

"Can't say I do."

"Well, let's just say there were 15 of some of Wrath's strongest demons that were killed during the games. And I was responsible for 9 of those deaths."

Now Blitz was even more impressed. "Holy shit. You're hired!" he said as he shook Millie's hand.

"Really!? Just like that?"

"Just like that!" Blitz introduced her to the crew, starting with Loona, who only grunted in response as she browsed her phone. He then introduced her to Moxxie, who he just realized was under his desk before pulling him out of there. "What the fuck are you doing down there?"

"I…dropped my pen, sir."

"Moxxie!" Millie shouted, happy to see her drinking buddy.

"Millie! It's so good to see you again!" He said nervously.

"Wait, you two know each other? …oh, I see now."

"See what?" Millie asked.

"You see, Moxxie here was going on about this imp girl he met at the bar and how much he-" before he could finish, Moxxie put a hand on his mouth to interrupt him.

"I-I was just saying how much of an asset you would be if you were to join us." Millie just smiled, grateful for the compliment.

Blitz pulled his hand away and grabbed him by the collar, pulling Moxxie's face close to his. "You do that again, and I will bury you alive choking on your own dick," he said before pushing him away, making Moxxie scared. He then smiled at Millie. "You joined just at the right time, Mills. We have a client coming in right now. We could use all the help we can get." Just as he said that, the door opened. A demon dressed like a military general came through the doorway and inspected the imps.

"So, you're the folks that are gonna fix this problem for me, are you?" he said in a southern accent.

"We sure are!" said Blitz. "Now, who do you want dead?"

"Allow me to introduce myself first. I am Tyberius Buchanan III, general of a top-secret mercenary platoon…or was. You see, son, I am a pure-blooded capitalist at heart. I wanted to prove that a privatized military would make America prosper. So I hired eager mercenaries to see if it was possible."

"Well, was it?" Blitz asked.

"Of course it did! Businesses pick up the slack made by the lazy government. That was until someone else offered better pay for their service if they killed me. And since I am here, it goes without saying that they were successful."

"I get ya, you want us to kill these mercenaries for killing you."

"Not only that, I want to destroy top-secret government files that they have."

"You entrusted mercenaries with top-secret government information?" Moxxie asked.

"I was that confident on this plan, my boy. Doesn't matter now. I'll pay you good money to kill those mercenaries and destroy those files."

"You heard him, M." Blitz said, "More killing, less asking."

After filling out some paperwork, Loona used the Grimoire to summon a portal to earth. When Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie went through, they were on a dirt road in a desert area at night with tall rocks on the side. Millie looked around in awe around her. It reminded her of Wrath, but without the volcanoes and the deadly beasts roaming around. Moxxie noticed her gazing around the place.

"First time on Earth, huh?" he asked.

"Yeah. It feels a lil' bit different from hell."

"I remember when I first came here on my first day. Well, not here in this place, but somewhere else. I had that same look on your face right now. It was more than I ever could have imagined."

Millie smiled at him before Blitz interrupted, "Ugh, not you, too. It's not that great. Earth is just a place where our current and future hits are in. Now quit stargazing, and let's find these guys."

Moxxie and Millie followed behind Blitz, secretly admiring the surrounding environment. They eventually reached the side of a rocky hill, where they got a good look at a fenced-in outpost not too far from them. There was only one building surrounded by soldiers and military trucks.

"Ok, this is the place," Blitz said. "You finally ready to let loose, Millie?"

Millie was nervous since they had guns, and all she had was a battleaxe. But her excitement about killing some scumbags helper her overcome that fear. "You bet your sweet ass I am!"

"Then let's do this!" Blitz yelled. Millie was the first to run in, battleaxe at the ready. As she ran to the front gate, she sliced the head off a guard standing in front of the entrance as well as cut his friend in half from across the torso. More mercenaries showed up as the crew entered the outpost area. Millie dodged and weaved all the bullets coming her way as she cut away at the mercs.

Moxxie stood there in awe of her skill. Every time she swung her axe, a body part would come loose. The way she killed them was almost an art to Moxxie, with Millie the painter and the blood and guts the paint. He sighed at the sight of this beautiful angel of death doing her work.

However, this admiration was short-lived as Blitz yelled at him as he snapped a mercs neck. "Moxxie, for fuck's sake, could you stop eye fucking her and actually shoot!?" Moxxie snapped out of it and shot some mercs coming up behind Millie with his two pistols.

Moxxie got back to back with her, seeing more mercs surround them. "You focus on the ones in front of you. I'll take care of the ones behind." Millie nodded before swinging at the mercs in front of her. Moxxie unloaded his rounds on the ones Millie wasn't attacking to make sure no one got a cheap shot at her. Occasionally, he would disarm a merc by shooting him in the leg or the arm to make them drop their weapon, only to have Millie do the finishing blow. The synergy between them was so great that one could hardly tell it was their first time working together.

When the dust cleared, all that was surrounding them now was a pile of corpses. Millie cheered and hugged Moxxie, making him blush. "That was great, Mox! I was swingin' and cuttin', and you were blasting away like a badass action star!"

"T-thank you, Millie," he said, blushing hard. He eventually noticed that Blitz was nowhere to be seen. Just as Moxxie wondered where he was, he heard a gunshot go off inside the building next to them. The front door opened, and a merc with a hole in his head wobbled out and fell to the ground. Blitz walked out shortly after, holding a bunch of files in his hands as he approached his coworkers.

"Moxxie, you can't have wet fantasies in the middle of your job! Next time that happens, don't blame me if you get shot in the face!"

"I understand, sir, it won't happen again."

"Good. And Mills…nice job back there. It's good to be working with you." Blitz said before walking off.

"Wow," Moxxie said, "That's high praise coming from him."

Millie noticed the files in Blitz's hands. "Ain't that the thing our client told us to shred?" she asked.

"Yes," Blitz said as he read the documents inside. "But I wanna see what's on here. There's probably some interesting stuff-and I'm bored." he then pulled out a lighter and burned all the documents. Blitz called Loona to tell them the job was done, and she summoned the portal back to Hell. As they came back to the office, Moxxie approached Millie.

"Hey! I know that Blitz already said it, but you did a really good job out there."

"Aw, thanks. You're not too bad yourself."

"You know, I was thinking. Do you want to go get some drinks after work?"

"Sure thing!" They both smiled at each other before Blitz interrupted their talk.

"Good idea, Moxxie!" He said as he put an arm around each of them. "In fact, let's go right now. Drinks'll be on me!" Blitz coming with them wasn't what they had in mind, but at least they could spend some time together.

And thus was the start of something that would eventually bloom in a wholesome relationship.
