Edit: removed the last scene because I realized its not a good idea and was a last second thing I added in the first place.

A/N: Don't mind me. Just posting another one shot story prompt because writer's block is a dick so I figured why not do some writing to at least get practice.

Anyways, enjoy!

Luz had messed up big time.

She had decided to go back in time in order to find out more about the first human in hopes of getting help to build the portal...

This led her and her cool aunt Lilith to seek out the time pools. In another universe this would've resulted in nothing more than an all for nothing journey before she eventually found out she had unintentionally helped the man who would bring so much pain and misery to the people of the Boiling Isles.

This was not that universe...

"We must hurry!" Luz yelled out in panic as she and her aunt Lilith desperately made their way to the time pools, while riding atop the stone sleeper that they had tamed earlier.

"I am so sorry Luz! I just lost track of time and-" Lilith tried to apologize but Luz cuts her off

"No time for that!" Luz yells before finally spotting the area where the time pools are "There!"

The two of them immediately got off the stone sleeper and ran towards the time pools.

Lilith was the first to jump in.

Splash

It was then Luz's turn. She was about to jump only for the tide to suddenly come in. Forcing her to take a step back.

"Crap" she cursed, almost getting burned by the boiling waters. When the waters finally retreated she jumps-

Thud

...but was only met with solid ground.

Luz could only stand there dumbstruck... The time pools were gone. She was stranded in the past. And without any Titans blood she could be stuck here forever! She won't be able to see her mom again!

As this realization dawned on her she felt her knees suddenly go weak forcing her to sit down.

"What am I going to do?" she said with a look of horror, as the stone sleeper could only look on with what appeared to be sympathy.

Luz then brought her hands to her face...and scream in frustration.

Meanwhile in the present...

"Edalyn's going to kill me"

Was the one thought in Lilith's head as she made a mad dash towards the owl house.

Her niece has been left behind and it was all her fault. When she jumped into the pool she was expecting to see Luz next to her back in the present but to her shock she never arrived. And when she tried to enter the time pools, they were gone.

"And all because I wanted so see some stupid architecture! What kind of cool aunt am I?!"

She mentally scolded herself while resisting the urge to just slap herself or even throw herself off a cliff for her carelessness

Luckily she remembered that Luz still had some Titan's blood that she could use to make another time pool tracker. A part of her was hesitant because she knew her niece needed them to make a portal back to the human realm but they would be useless if said niece wasn't even here anymore!

When she finally did arrive she was taken back by what she saw. In place of where the Owl house, Eda's home, would be was instead...a ruined tower. The house wasn't even there anymore which means...no titan blood.

"W-What? What is this? Did the emperor's coven attack while I was gone?" Lilith said

She then decided to pull out her palisman, thinking of asking around in town in the hopes that someone could tell her what happened.

As she flew towards Bonesborough, Lilith couldn't help but notice that something was different...

Everything seemed so much more...lively and vibrant. It reminded her of the "savage" ages which also had the same atmosphere.

Weird.

When she reached town it only got weirder. Everything was to put it simply. Peaceful.

Everyone was so friendly. There were no coven scouts in sight. And some were even practicing wild magic in public!

And from the look of it there was some sort of celebration happening. But the only events that would be celebrated like this were the coven day parade and the anniversary of Belos rise to power. But either ones were still days away unless the time pool sent her out a few days late.

"Excuse me Miss. But are you alright? You seem distressed" a random passer by asked her which pulled her from her thoughts.

"Oh! Y-Yes I'm quite fine. But if you don't mind me asking. What's going on? Is it the annual coven day parade?" she asks

"Coven day? What's that? We're celebrating the anniversary of the day our glorious empress saved the boiling isles!" the person said happily

"E-Empress? Do you mean Emperor?" she asked. She was pretty sure that Belos was not a woman.

"Nope! Take a look for yourself" the witch pointed to a statue.

Lilith walked up to it and noticed that it looked vastly different from what Belos looks like. For one it held what looked like a bird palisman and a sword. But Belos possessed neither of them. One other thing was it also lacked a mask and instead had the face of a woman which she can't help but feel familiar with. She looked down and saw something written.

Hail Empress Luzura

True Messenger of the Titan

Protector of Magickind

Slayer of the False Prophet

"L-Luzura?"

No way. There was no way. It can't possibly be her! But as she looked at the statues face she realized it was definitely Luz albeit older and had what looked like a scar over her eye. Oh titan, what happened to her?

Then she heard what sounded like a little girl's voice

"Aunt Lilith!"

She turns around and spots a young girl with wild mint green hair run up to her before they envelops her in a bone crushing hug

"You came! I didn't think you'd make it!" The girl said happily while tightening the hug. She tried to gently push the girl off but they would not budge

"Now take it easy on the hug kid. Don't want Lily here passing out" came a familiar voice.

Lilith looked up and saw that it was Eda except...She looked so much younger and even had her fiery orange hair. Wait! Was that a wedding ring on her finger!?

"E-Edalyn?!"

Eda gave a smirk "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost unless you're actually seeing one heh. You know my daughter here has been itching to see you for a while" she joked.

"Your daughter?!" Ok this was all too much. So much was happening. It was all too confusing and-

It was then that Lilith was finally overwhelmed by everything and-

Thud

...passed out

The last thing she heard as darkness claimed her was Eda shouting for a healer while the strange girl that was apparently Edalyn's daughter tried to shake her awake to no avail.

Meanwhile...

Luz had eventually gotten up from her spot.

She knew she couldn't stay there forever in the hopes that the time pool would return cause after all Lilith said they never appear in the same place twice.

Luckily she wasn't alone, as the stone sleeper had apparently decided that she was now its companion. At least that's how she interpreted it as the beast continued to stay with her even as she made her way through the forest and back to little babyborough.

"I should probably give you a name if you're gonna be travelling with me" Luz said, from atop the beast. "What about...Gunther?" she suggested

The stone sleeper gave what sounded like a growl? of approval and even nodded.

"Well then Gunther. Off to town we go. I need a place to rest" Luz said, seeing the sun begin to set.

The two of them eventually reached Bonesborough. Ignoring the few people who would look at Gunther in awe and suprise with some even talking about how they thought Stone sleepers were extinct.

She couldn't help but let out a sigh as she spotted the inn at the distance. She had hoped that this was all a dream and she would soon wake up back at Eda's house or maybe even back on Earth with her mom.

She hops off Gunther who didn't waste any time to find a spot to sleep on before he turned to stone. Watching him do that fascinated Luz.

She then entered the inn and walked up to the counter and asked for a room.

"That will be ten snails for a room lassie" The innkeeper, a purple-skinned witch with ram horns, said to her.

She frowned as she reached into her pockets and of course. She didn't have any snails on her. Go figure.

"Do you accept realistic drawings instead?" she said sheepishly.

The innkeeper frowned at her. Crap why did she think that was going to work. Maybe she could use her glyphs to make a makeshift tent instead.

She was about to leave when she heard the innkeeper let out a sigh

"How realistic?"

Well she didn't expect that.

She didn't waste time going to her room. She just wanted to sleep now and maybe once she wakes up the next morning all of this was really just a dream...

A/N: So what did you think? Did you like it? Did you hate it? Let me know.

I'm honestly surprised no one has written a time travel fic yet involving the time pools and with Luz getting trapped in the past.

Unless there are existing ones and I just haven't found them so feel free to share them to me XD.

Anyways see you next time. If you have questions I will answer
