Zodd curled up and let out a roar. "Thus falls the mighty Zodd?…no!!, what is pain to one such as me?. Other men have fallen prey to the cold embrace of mistress death but not I, not Zodd, I defy you cold temptress Zodd shall live!!".
The vampire's soul crawled from the man's depths and tore through space-time. Searching for any nearby demonic energy.
A large one, not larger than his, but large nonetheless. Worming his way through space-time and appearing over the skies of fire country. The village of Konoha was in disarray, a few minutes after sunset the kyuubi, king of the tailed beast had appeared without warning and lay half of the village to waste.
Luckily the fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze with the efforts of Hiruzen Sarutobi former hokage had managed to seal the beast away, unfortunately Minato and his wife Kushina had sustained major injuries during the battle with the beast.
Zodds soul hovered above the battlefield, a young boy lay in the dirt wailing. A strange seal tattooed onto his belly. "The boy was a beacon. I would assume some sort of sealing ritual just occurred and a burst of energy was released a mere moment after the sealing".
Zodd hovered above the boy for just a few seconds. Right now he was taking a gamble, if this boy could not hold two powerful souls then his death was absolute. Soon he himself would burn out due to lack of a body.
All or Nothing.
He dived into the boy and was met by a truly odd sight. Long intertwining pipes and tubes and yellow walls. He quickly took on a more appealing form and grimaced as he looked at the murky waters. He lifted himself from the waters and hovered above them for a second before he began to wander around the hallways. Some were dead ends and others seemed to lead back to hallways he had just been in.
He wandered some more and more until he found a hallway that led somewhere. Two large gates made of what appeared to be bronze or some sort of tan gold. A large fox laid curled up with its tails, pounding the water. "An overgrown dog?"
The fox stopped. "Who dares?!" It peaked and growled. "I dare" Zodd said as he passed through the gates. The water rippled as thick red energy swirled through the halls. "Leave mortal…if you know what's good for you."
"What's good for me…me and you are trapped in here, friend. Well more you than me" Zodd said
"You seem to misunderstand the predicament we are In, flesh bag" the fox inched forward and peered into Zodds glowing red eyes. "In just twenty years time that blasted seal will sap away all of our chakra and merge it with the boy's our death is inevitable lest the boy free us".
Zodd's small smirk wavered for a moment before it returned. "But you fail to realize that the boy is still young."
"So what?"
Zodds smirk broke into a grin. "Clay only hardens permanently when placed into an oven, me and you have quite some time before this clay hardens…we'll mold this clay into a perfect vessel and find a way out of this so-called seal".
The fox growled for a moment and crept back into the dark corners of its cage. "No… I need no help from some human". Zodd's grin faded, "I'm no mortal dog.".
"Act like a mortal, walk like a mortal, look like a mortal…you are a mortal"
The water rippled violently and the bars rattled. Zodd whirled around and flew out of the cage. "Suit yourself.". Hiruzen looked at the small baby in the crib, his short blonde hair had grown much longer in the last two hours he'd been in the crib and the strange whisker marks on his face became thick and more accentuated. Danzo stood near Hiruzen, the old war-hawks came held tightly. He frowned and stroked his chin. "And what shall you do now, Hiruzen?". Hiruzen ran a hand through his thinning white hair and sighed, "first things first, summon both the shinobi and civilian council an-"
"Why must the civilian council be made aware of this child's circumstances. This would bring us, especially you, trouble". Danzo said, Hiruzen shook his head, "no they won't know about what he holds. No one will, the host of the kyuubi is now classified as an S-Rank secret, the punishment will be…the punishment will be death."
Danzo lone eye widened for a second before returning to normal, "will the boy's lineage be revealed to the council as well".
"Only the shinobi council, and even then the people who will be told will be limited in number." Hiruzen responded as he pursed his lips. "He shall adopt his mother's last name and live in the red-light district".
"What?!…that's no place for a child to live, Hiruzen, allow me to take him." Danzo said his wrinkled face contorted into a mask of confusion and anger. Hiruzen looked at his friend, squinting and looking him up and down, "no…he'll have a squad of Abby watching him 24/7."
He picked the child up and wrapped the blanket around the boy's whisker marks. "Let's go."
The council room was in uproar, Inoichi dodged a loose pencil and made a snide remark that sent another pencil his way. Shikaku rubbed his neck, "Pulled out of bed after such an incident doesn't feel very nice" he said as he yawned. Chouza huffed, "you're lucky…half of my clan territory destroyed and hundreds dead." He said as he slammed his fist onto the wooden table, making it shake. Hiashi grit his teeth, "Half. You think half is a lot, every house in my territory destroyed, only one remains."
Shibi opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Hiruzen and Danzo walking in. The small child stirred and let out a yawn before settling down. "I want everybody quiet until I'm finished. What I'm going to say here today will not leave this room, and so help me god if it does."
"Four hours ago at approximately Twelve AM, the nine tails appeared in the northern sector of the village and began wreaking havoc. After a lengthy fight with Former hokage Minato it was sealed."
Hiruzen placed the child onto the table, "this is Naruto Uzumaki…Konoha's newest Jinchūriki". There were numerous gasps and murmurs, much to Hiruzen's annoyance, "What I've just revealed is an S-Rank secret punishable by death if revealed to anyone outside this room."
Nazuna, a tall woman with brown neat hair, scoffed, "so what you've brought us is the demon in another form." She said as she played with the pearls around her neck. Danzo grimaced, "no…what we've brought you is the jailer that keeps the prisoner in check."
Nazuna scoffed once more, "you expect us to believe a baby can hold a demon?, I mean seriously, at any given moment this thing could turn back into the fox and slaughter us all."
"The seal won't allow that" Danzo said, "Lord fourth made sure the seal siphoned off chakra for over time."
"Ahh even better. The boy's going to turn into the demon" Nazuna said, Danzo grit his teeth, this why he opted to keep these buffoons out of shinobi affairs. "No-"
Momoka, a tall man with bright blonde hair and. Green eyes huffed, "off with his head I say…no need to sit here and worry about such things if the boy is dead."
Nazuna nodded, "absolutely. Having this thing walking around only puts the village in harms way again."
Fugaku yawned, "your opinions and suggestions are irrelevant as this boy is under direct protection from lord third, therefore making the question of his existence a shinobi matter"
Nazuna grit her teeth and slammed her palms on the table. "To hell with your shinobi matters, can't you see this thing's existence threatens us all"
Shikaku shook his head, "your lack of understanding is a bit astonishing…the boy is merely a vessel he-"
"He is the nine tails reincarnated!" Nazuna shouted. Inoichi cleared his throat, "To ease your mind Nazuna would you like if me and other Yamanaka clan members preformed mental wellness inspections every year?…if lord third allows it"
Hiruzen thought for a moment. This would've been the best way to shut the local newspaper owner up and would've allowed him a peak into the boy's mind. "Yes…on October tenth of next year at exactly eight AM you and three of your most trusted men shall preform a wellness check."
Nazuna sat down in her seat and shook her head, "you've doomed us all". Nazuna sunk into her chair and thought for several moments before an idea crept into her mind. She pondered for a moment and decided that this thought would be the course of action.
Hiruzen picked Naruto up and looked at the faces of the council members, "remember, what's been said does not leave this room."
