Walking Dead: Fresh New Start

First chapter of a new Walking Dead story, featuring an OC based on me and two other OCs based on friends of mine from this site, anyway, this is just a set up chapter to introduce some of the characters, enjoy.

Now onto the story.

Episode 1: Chapter 1

The young man of sixteen sighed as he finished getting ready for the day ahead. He was of medium height, around five foot seven with short dark red hair, hazel eyes and fair skin, he was a fairly toned build.

'Start of my first day at this school, dad insisted on us moving here and isn't saying anything about why, weird.' He thought to himself. 'Still, just gotta make the most of it.'

He smoothed down the uniform the school had given him, making sure it was neat. He felt it would be better to make a good impression when he got there. The boy's uniform was mainly coloured black and red and they had a choice of wearing black slacks or shorts along with a red shirt and blazer, the school logo is shown on the left front pocket and a red and black tie as well as red socks and black shoes. The young man had opted to wear the shorts which came down to his mid-thigh with the socks coming up to his shins.

"Ryan, you ready yet?" His dad called up from downstairs.

Ryan Ericson, for that was his name, quickly called back. "Yeah dad, on my way."

Making sure he had everything he needed and left his new bedroom and headed downstairs, his dad was already waiting, a tall strongly built man with short brown hair and eyes, dressed in a suit for his new job.

"Ah, there you are." Thomas Ericson said with a warm smile. "Well, we better get going. Oh, you got your watch?"

Ryan rolled his eyes. "Yes dad, see."

He held up his wrist and Thomas nodded, seemingly satisfied before they left to get Ryan to school and Thomas to work.

Gently bouncing his leg as he waited, Ryan checked the time on his watch. He had arrived at school and met with the Principal and the main office to get the final enrolment steps completed, to get his schedule and was now waiting for a student who had been assigned to show him around to arrive.

'I made the right choice with my uniform, making sure it was neat and all…' Ryan noted to himself. 'Principal was pleased I made myself look so presentable.'

He could understand that looked around at the other students he had seen, the school's image was one carefully crafted and part of it was presentation after all. It was then a boy wearing the same style of uniform as Jamie, shorts and all, approached. He was a little taller with medium length messy brown hair and brown eyes, tanned skin and somewhat lanky.

"Hi, are you Ryan Ericson?" He greeted.

Standing up Ryan smiled. "Yeah, nice to meet you."

The boy smiled. "I'm Gabriel Garcia, everyone just calls me Gabe. Nice to meet you."

"Same, so, you're here to show me around?" Ryan replied.

Gabe nodded. "Yeah, well, let's start."

Ryan also nodded and followed Gabe out as the tour began, there was still time before their first lesson after all. It all eventually culminated with Gabe leading Ryan to his first class where he saw two other boys already outside.

They were chatting together, clearly friends, also dressed in the boys uniform with shorts, which was more noticeable for one of them due to his five foot nine frame having long legs and a slim build, as well as short light blonde almost brunette hair and blue eyes. The other was shorter, around five foot six with long blonde hair tied in a ponytail and green eyes as well as an average build, both were also fair skinned.

"Hey guys." Gabe greeted them cheerfully.

They turned and smiled, noting Ryan.

"Hi Gabe, oh...who's this?" The taller one asked.

"This is Ryan Ericson, he's just started here." Gabe explained before gesturing to the taller boy. "Ryan, this is Erich Goring."

The other boy then introduced himself too. "I'm Chad Petersen, nice to meet you, Ryan."

Ryan smiled back. "Nice to meet you guys too, so um...you guys are all friends?"

They all nodded and then Erich took note of another friend approaching.

"Ah, and here's Violet." He said.

Ryan turned to see a relatively short skinny girl approaching, around five foot two, yet despite that she had long legs, shown by her uniform. She also had short somewhat stringy blonde hair with heavy bangs, pale skin and green eyes with strong features. She was of course wearing the girl's uniform which shared the same colours with the boys but with a blouse instead of a shirt, mid-thigh pleated skirt instead of slacks/shorts and flats instead of shoes. Their socks came up to just below the knee.

"Huh, what-?" Violet began.

With that Ryan was soon introduced to Violet in time for their first lesson to start.

Ryan smiled as he walked with the other three boys and girl towards the cafeteria for lunch. He had managed to already form the beginnings of friendships with the boys. Violet was rather shy and quiet but she seemed to at least be cordial with Ryan.

"C'mon, let's go and get something to eat...shame we haven't managed to run into the others yet." Chad remarked happily.

Erich nodded. "They'll show up, some of them will still be at the usual table anyway."

Ryan nodded, still smiling. Although he was admittedly nervous, meeting so many new people made him feel a little on edge. In fact, he still wasn't sure why he and his dad had even moved here. But he didn't dwell on that right now as they got their food and reached the table the others had talked about.

"Don't worry." Violet told him quietly. "You'll be fine, everybody at this table's pretty cool...they have some, quirks, but you get used to them."

Ryan bit his lip but nodded as he sat down, drawing the attention of the others seated there with Gabe soon making introductions. There were three boys and three girls present, the girls naturally dressed just like Violet while only one of the boys wore shorts, the other two wearing the black slacks that were an option for the uniform.

The boy wearing shorts was tall with dreadlocked dark brown hair and brown eyes, light brown skin and a lanky build, his name was Louis Sulieman. The other two boys were Marlon Chase, a tall blonde boy with his hair in a messy mullet, blue eyes and fair skin, and Mitch Daymond, also tall with short but messy brown hair, brown eyes and fair skin, both had normal but broad shouldered builds. The nearest of the three girls smiled softly, she was around medium height, fair skinned with long auburn hair tied back in a ponytail, light blue eyes and a slender curvy build with long legs and introduced herself as Brody Burress. Meanwhile the other two were twins, although with enough differences to tell them apart. Both were tall, lanky with red hair and light green eyes, but Minerva Leigh had shorter hair which was shaved on the left side and a scar in her eyebrow while Sophia had her hair long and no scars.

"It's nice to meet you all." Ryan said at last.

It was then Louis spoke up.

"Ah, not done yet, dude." He said. "Here's another of our friends."

Ryan turned and his eyes widened at the sight of the most beautiful girl he'd seen, she was even shorter than Violet, but only by an inch, with medium length curly dark brown hair, golden brown eyes framed with long lashes, her skin was a pleasing caramel shade and she had an athletic build which filled her uniform nicely. She was dusting off her skirt as she approached, her socks had actually slipped down somewhat showing more of her caramel legs, but she didn't seem to mind. Ryan just barely heard the words Louis said as he introduced the girl.

"Ryan Ericson, meet Clementine Everett."
