The Wolowitz conclusion
Chapter one
The office next door to Howard's had been empty for a while now, once Dr. Roberts had moved on it had been a few months of an empty office. A couple of people had applied to fill it but Professor Siebert hadn't thought they were the right fit. That was until Hannah turned up.
Hannah Spencer was young, blonde and tall. She had just gotten her master's degree in engineering from MIT, just like Howard had a few years earlier. Her life was pretty set, rich parents that had taken all their time to raise her and give her all she needed, and wanted, in life.
"Mr Wolowitz" Hannah smiled, almost too sweetly "how are you?"
"hi, Hannah" Howard stuttered, he didn't know why but when she spoke to him he felt like he was eighteen again, for about twenty seconds he forgot about Bernadette, Halley and Michael, it was only a few seconds and immediately afterwards he felt very guilty but he didn't know why she was making him feel this way "I'm good, how are you?"
"better now I've seen you" Hannah was flirting with him, Bernadette hadn't spoken like this with him for a long time, if at all "did you have a nice weekend?"
"I did" Howard suddenly remembered taking Halley, Michael, Megan, Elliot and Stephen out to the park, it had been six months now since Sheldon's death and Howard, Leonard, Raj and Stuart were doing all they could to be father figures for Stephen and the twins "me and Leonard took the kids out?"
"is that your boyfriend?" Hannah giggled leaving Howard unsure if she was joking or not
"no. my friend"
"I was joking" Hannah responded answering the unasked question
"oh"
"have a nice day"
Howard tried not to look at Hannah as she walked away, but he couldn't keep his eyes away, the way she walked was just like heaven, and he wasn't the only one who thought this either. The new girl was the water cooler topic of the moment.
Raj had decided to make an impromptu visit to Howard, however, this wasn't as impromptu as it had been. This was now a daily occurrence due to either boredom or habit, or both.
"have you seen the new girl?" Raj didn't even say hello to Howard as he rushed through the door "isn't she dreamy?"
"I hadn't noticed" Howard tried to act as if he didn't know what Raj was saying "what are you here for?"
"I always come here" Raj answered, a little bit concerned by the way Howard was behaving "this is our daily routine, has been for months now"
"well, maybe it shouldn't be" Howard himself didn't know why he was being so snappy to his best friend, but he couldn't stop himself "get out of my office"
Raj seemed rather offended but left anyway. He knew something was wrong, but he couldn't put his finger on what. He'd have to speak to Leonard tomorrow. Raj thought for a while about what Sheldon would've said in this situation, how he missed those comments now, and the treading on egg shells, the disregard of anyone's feelings except his own. Lunch times would never be the same again.
