"Come on, make it quick. Use your Chaos Control... to stop time. Then... seal us into a different dimension." Blaze clutched the two emeralds as flames swirled around her, the monster desperate to break free
Silver shook his head at her request "No! I can't do that to you!" She's all I have left I can't lose her too. Blaze would turn to him she understood what he was going through of course but right now all that mattered was stopping iblis "Didn't we already go through this? We agreed to save the world at any price!"
Knowing it's the right thing to do Silver clenched his fist trying to use Chaos control but how could he? She was his best friend, more than that she was his partner. "I can't! I wouldn't know what to do without you! You've fought alongside me to save the world... You're my friend... Right?"
Blaze sounded slightly disappointed in him she understood of course but this was bigger thank them "You're still so naive. But..." she forced a brave face as she turned to him "I... I've always liked that about you."
Blaze held out both emeralds, closing her eyes and focussing using the power of chaos control she dropped the emeralds as a dark shield formed around her as she and iblis begin to fade into the void
"Blaze!" Silver shouted as he ran after her vanishing form, he knew he couldn't save her anymore but he wouldn't let her fade not until she knew how much he cared about her.
"Good luck, Silver." Was the last thing she said to silver as she floated away with iblis and exploded in a blinding light, the flames of disaster were finally gone from the. world and so was she, leaving silver all alone...
"Sometimes I wake up crying, it happens now and again I can never quite remember what the dream was about all I remember is an overwhelming feeling of loss, which lasts long after the dream is over" Silver awoke from his dream as tears streamed down his face he could remember a little more this time he remembered a purple cat and flames but not the flames of the Ifrit that ravaged his world something else, Something even worse
"That Cat again... who is she? I've never met her, so why do I remember her. Why am I in so much pain? What's her name!?" The young hedgehog shouted to nobody in particular, this was his life Help survivors if he could, fight the Ifrit and find food. The Ifrit was completely immortal he had heard tales that it was Vulnerable when it was first summoned, but now that it was at full power nothing short of a miracle could kill it.
He would stand up and dry his tears he had spent the night with a refugee group he had saved from the Ifrit, they were doing better than most. They had taken up residence in an abandoned retirement home so they almost all had rooms and beds to themselves even a spare for 'their hero' as they called him.
A young Ladybug approached Silver, she looked around 4 he didn't see her parents anywhere, Orphans were sickeningly common very few made it past 18 in this world "my friends Told me that you fought the Ifrit all by yourself yesterday is that true" The girl looked up at Silver with a child like wonder in her eyes, the mind of a child is truly wonderful she can remain optimistic in this world.
"Well yeah I did fight the Ifrit but" he was cut of as the girl trapped him in a hug, he couldn't breath how could a child this small hug this hard!? "So your like a real hero from a story" finally the girls grip loosened as an elderly stork approached the pair "now now don't choke the poor boy, I'm sure he's sore after his fight yesterday"
"Sorry grandpa" *the girl landed still looking up to silver, silver looked to the old man with gratitude and respect, he always respected the elderly "in a world where men die young you should fear the old man the most" was one of the things he had learned in his 14 years of life.
Silver kneeled down to the girls level. "well thank you but I'm not a hero, I'm just doing my duty, I was lucky to be born with powers like mine but what about everyone else? It's the duty of the strong to protect those who need it, so Just call me Silver" he offered the ladybug a handshake which she accepted instantly. "It's nice to meet you Mr Silver. I'm Tulip" as she shook his hand she noticed the damp fur around his eyes "why were you crying?" Silver blinked before touching the damp fur "w-well no reason it was just uh... a scary dream... anyway, how old are you Tulip?" He attempted to change the subject and luckily for him it worked "I'm two" her tone was full of confidence as she held up 2 fingers but then she paused before putting up a third finger* "no wait I'm 3"
Silver couldn't explain it but he had the feeling he would die for this girl. His brain couldn't handle how cute this kid was at this moment in time, Tulip was absolutely enamored with him since she heard about him yesterday but he was so much cooler in person
Silver would spend about an hour with Tulip talking about things he had done and how many times he had fought the Ifrit and people he had saved she hung onto his every word it was nice to be appreciated even If it was only by a child, she had asked if he'd stay at the retirement home with them but he knew he had to decline. "I'd love too kid but there are people out there, who need saving, the way I see it I've been given this power to protect" at this point he was just trying to sound cool though Tulip seemed a little sad that he wouldn't stay she simply flew away after that, he felt bad but he knew he couldn't stay.
~Late Afternoon~
He hadn't seen Tulip since he'd said he wouldn't stay with them, he was about to leave when the stork from earlier handed him a bag "What's this?" Silver asked a little confused by the sudden gesture the stork simply patted him on the back. "some food and water it's the least we can do you fought so hard for us all yesterday" silver attempted to hand the bag back, he didn't wanna take anything from these people they barely had enough as is "I can't accept this, you need it" the stork simply shook his head refusing to take it back "if you don't take it I'm throwing it in the lava" Silver sighed in defeat before taking the bag and turning away "Stubborn old man" was the last thing he said before Levitating off the ground and heading out into the volcanic wasteland he was forced to call home
As the sun started to go down he landed on the roof of a long abandoned skyscraper and looked over the view he never understood the point of buildings this big, but the Ifrit rarely flew this high so they were safe enough. He had been flying all day so he was understandably hungry he opened the bag the stork had given him only to find it almost empty in place of the food and water was a sleeping Ladybug "T-Tulip!?"
So this is my first fanfiction, any reviews would be appreciated even if it's negative after all I can't improve if I don't know what I'm doing wrong
