One night, Chibiusa had a strange dream. She swore she heard her mother's voice calling to her as she wandered among the moonlit ruins of what looked like her home, but there was something different about it, something archaic.
Also, oddly, her mother's voice was coming from the Chamber of Eras, where the Moon Mystifier was located! Reaching the chamber's doors, Chibiusa felt something is off.
Her mother was calling her "Usagi Serenity!" and, though that is Chibiusa's family name, her mother usually uses 'Small Lady' or, more recently, 'Chibiusa.' Even her nickname, Rini, could be used to differentiate her from her mother.
More curious than ever, Chibiusa pushed open the golden doors and gasped; standing near the Moon Mystifier was a tall, slender woman with white hair, the same as Usagi's style, flawless skin, silver eyes, and in a white, form-fitting dress which flowed out at the ground and a crescent moon as the center of her bow on the chest.
What gave away who this woman is, is she has four transparent wings on her back, similar to Sailor Moon's Eternal form!
"Grandma!" Chibiusa awoke with a start.
After calming down, Chibiusa realized what had happened as her Pink Moon Crystal was glowing. Queen Serenity attempted to contact her, though the middle of the night was a bad time! Thankfully, each of the girls had gotten a room of their own, so she had not woken anyone else up.
"Chibiusa?" Looking up, two pink eyes were staring at her from the dark, and two red and green eyes joined them!
At first, Chibiusa is startled, but then her eyes adjust to see it is Comet, Asteroid, and Diana! Their purring helped to soothe the Princess further, and Chibiusa hoped Elizabeth and Selina helped Jewel sleep more peacefully.
Then, she wondered how to word her experience to her friends in the morning, but she supposed she should tell them what happened.
Of course, with her teammates/friends having all different personalities, half were thrilled, while the other half was a bit more skeptical. There were a few things that needed to be clarified.
"That's amazing! A secret room and the Moon Mystifire!" Gracie exclaimed in excitement.
"I wonder what Queen Serenity was trying to contact you about?" Crystal pondered.
"Must have been extremely important if she had to do it in the middle of the night! Also, why didn't you tell me about this room and Moon thing sooner?!" Christen is the first to be skeptical.
"As much as I hate to agree with Christen, that does seem odd." Ariel concurred.
"I'm with them." Holly agreed.
"Sorry, girls. It slipped my mind as we had a lot on our minds at the time." Chibiusa reminded them.
"We know Queen Serenity is a pure and honest person. She wouldn't contact Chibiusa if it wasn't important." Alexis disagreed with Christen, Ariel, and Holly.
"What do you think, Trisha?" Unsure of what side she should take, Emily, looked to the eldest and wisest teammate.
Even Trisha had to think hard for a second, "While I trust Chibiusa HAD this dream, I am confused. If Queen Serenity needed to talk to you in such urgency, why did she not tell you what's going on?"
"Well, I did wake up before she had a chance to speak, but I was shocked as anyone would be," Chibiusa admitted, a bit embarrassed.
"As I've learned from living in the Dark Kingdom, take everything with a grain of salt, so to speak." Jewel knew there was some truth to this situation, but more information was needed.
"Good call, Princess. Couldn't have said it better myself." Star spoke up enthusiastically.
Ivy, Dawn, and "Shadow" always agreed with Jewel as she had experiences that resulted in deep insight. They also supported her if she needed to learn how to handle a dilemma independently.
"I wish our grandparents cared enough about us to chat in our dreams." Though Christen was being a bit disrespectful, Chibiusa was the only one, who had these dreams, even if it was not her fault.
"Maybe...something...happened to them?" Alexis whimpered as she still hated the thought of someone getting hurt.
"No, I'm sure everything's fine. There are lots of things to do in the afterlife. They can't help it. They're just tied up with important business right now.
So, you have to be patient. They should appear soon." Chibiusa tried to calm Alexis's fearful, racing thoughts.
Christen highly doubted her grandparents would want to speak with her. However, she partly wanted to believe what Chibiusa said.
Wait! You told us Queen Serenity was near the Moon Mystifier, right?" Crystal asked.
"Yeah?" Chibiusa needed to figure out why that mattered.
"Maybe if we go to the Moon Mystifier, we'll see Queen Serenity there!" Dawn chirped.
"I guess it's worth a try." Chibiusa knew her grandmother had already been dead for centuries, and the chances of seeing her in any way were slim.
"I think you're all forgetting something. We need the full moon's light to open the doors, and the sun is out!" Christen had a point.
"Comet, Asteroid, Diana, can you use that trick you did back when we were facing the Succubus to open the Chamber of Eras?" Chibiusa asked eagerly.
"As I'm sure we could, we must do it in secret. So Mom and Dad can't find out we already know about this room." Comet commented.
As irritating as it was to wait until the dead of night, the girls managed. But, sadly, Jewel and her Dark Kingdom Senshi decided to stay behind as they knew their grandparents would not be as enjoyable.
"Even so, I want you all to meet my grandma and maybe her Senshi too," Chibiusa begged her sister and Dark Kingdom Senshi to come to see Queen Serenity and the others.
"What if she hates me?" Jewel quivered.
"She won't; you're with me." Chibiusa linked her arm around her sister's elbow.
"We'll come, BUT just to meet them." "Shadow," conceded in a warning tone.
As Comet, Asteroid, and Diana managed to open the doors, the girls and kittens slipped in. The Chamber of Eras did not look any different from the rest of the palace except for the Moon Mystifier.
A full moon-shaped mirror, seemingly made of some strange glass to resemble the actual surface of the moon! Five feet in diameter, floating, unsupported, and light and mist swirled around inside it.
Chibiusa took a deep breath, and with both teams of Senshi, they peered into the object. At first, it just showed their own reflections, then the mist lit up and spun until the girls could see their grandparents for the first time!
Queen Serenity smiled serenely at Chibiusa and her Neo-Senshi as she had been watching them in spirit. However, when her eyes landed on Jewel and the Dark Kingdom Senshi, she looked surprised, but it matched the same shocked look Jewel had.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Queen Serenity laughed at Jewel's stunned expression.
"You're Queen Serenity...?" The bewildered Dark Kingdom Princess questioned.
"Yes, that's correct." Queen Serenity confirmed her identity.
"You're gorgeous! Your hair is beautiful! You're so fair-skinned! You've got the perfect body shape!" Jewel gushed over the deceased Queen's beauty.
"Um...Thank you." Queen Serenity blushed.
While beloved, it was rare for anyone to give Queen Serenity such a reaction as her presence demanded respect, though Jewel did not mockingly mean her compliments.
"This is my half-sister, Jewel, but we call each other 'sister.' She's 100 times nicer than her mother. I thought you two would like to meet?" Chibiusa interjected and introduced Jewel's Dark Kingdom Senshi.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all finally." Queen Serenity curtsied.
"Likewise, your highness." Jewel curtsied back, but she tripped, knocking Chibiusa into the Moon Mystifier!
Gracie and the other made to grab her, but they fell in too! Jewel screamed for her sister and friends and apologized profusely.
"Do not fret, Jewel. I will take good care of Chibiusa and her Senshi until I can find a way to send them back to you." Queen Serenity's voice sounded, though Jewel could not see her anymore.
"What have you done?!" Comet screamed in alarm.
"You clumsy girl!" Asteroid scolded harshly at Jewel.
"Where's Chibiusa?!" Diana sobbed.
"It was an accident! Like the Neo-Sailor Senshi never had accidents!" "Shadow," snapped.
"Not like this!" Asteroid shot back.
"Stop fighting!" A new voice spoke up.
From behind a pillar, Selina floated out with Elizabeth sitting on top of her!
"How?!" "Shadow" yelled.
"We can sneak into places too!" The young voice replied snarkily.
For a minute, Jewel could not determine which villain had spoken, but she realized it was not a villain when she saw Elizabeth's scornful look on her face.
"Elizabeth...was that you?" Jewel held her kitten up.
In response, Elizabeth meowed affirmatively, which did not need a translation. Elizabeth had spoken through Selina!
"In hindsight, this should have been considered. Elizabeth and Selina are linked by Queen Beryl's magic inside them, no matter how little it may be. So, they can act off each other." Star explained.
"As I was saying. Fighting is not going to help in this situation. You know what you must do, and it's not going to be pleasant." Elizabeth's voice crackled gravely through Selina.
