In case you haven't read the summary, this story centres around one of my OC Naruto characters (cringe I know, but hey ho)
I know that OC stuff is not for everyone, if so that's cool, no hard feelings.

Chapter I – The End of the Beginning
The sun was setting; it had been another hard day. In a few hours, it would be time, time to strike at the invaders who had come from the sky.
A man stood, wearing the Jonin uniform, with some differences, he did not have the blue shirt underneath, he instead wore a black mesh vest underneath the flak-jacket, his flak-jacket was not the typical green, it was an Ash grey colour, blue trousers with rings at the top and bottom of his shins, black open sandals that go a little higher up the leg than typical sandals.
The Konoha headband had a black band instead of blue; most notable was the crimson red cloak with black flames at the bottom. A large scroll connected to his waist by a rope is near the bottom of his back.
The man was staring at the enemy troops on the ground, "Soon" he thought, "Soon we shall drive you from our land" the man continued thinking.
Three months earlier.
It was another sunny day in Konoha, a man was walking away from the Hokage office, as he continued walking a silver-haired man reading a book with an orange cover caught his eye.
"Kakashi senpai" The man said.
The silver-haired man looked up at the man who spoke to him, he had brown spikey hair, lime-green eyes and slightly tanned pale skin.
"Ah, Arashi Kun" Kakashi replied.
"Heading out on another mission?" Kakashi enquired.
"Just back actually" Arashi replied, "Tsunade Sama gave me some time off" he added.
"Good, you free for something to eat?" Kakashi asked Arashi
"Yeah actually, I'm starving" Arashi replied with a smile.
Arashi and Kakashi walked to the dumpling restaurant for dumplings and a drink.
"18 already," Kakashi said as they sat down on the pillows set around the table.
"I know, it doesn't seem that long ago I was serving under you in ANBU" Arashi replied.
"It's been a few years since you left ANBU now" Kakashi stated.
"Yeah, I miss it sometimes, but I like being a Jonin" Arashi replied.
Kakashi ordered fried Pork Gyoza and a beer while Arashi ordered steamed Pork Gyoza and a beer.
As they waited for their food and drinks, Arashi pulled out a cigarette and a small red lighter, he lit his cigarette and began smoking.
"Still smoking?" Kakashi enquired.
"Yeah, I know, but I enjoy it" Arashi replied.
Kakashi chuckled at that response.
Arashi and Kakashi spoke and ate for a while; they talked about how Naruto has left the village to train with Jiraiya, how the Uchiha are still causing problems for Konoha, and how they thought Tsunade was doing as the Godaime Hokage.
After they had finished eating and drinking, they split the bill and got up to leave when the sky became dark, unusually so, as it was midday.
Arashi and Kakashi shared a glance and ran outside, as they looked to the sky, what they saw shocked them. There was some sort of black whirlpool with purple accents and a red outline in the sky, and it was blocking out the sun.
Arashi and Kakashi made their way to the Hokage office quickly, "there goes my leave" Arashi thought.
Multiple Jonin and ANBU had already gathered outside the Hokage office, Tsunade was getting ready to address the higher-ranking Shinobi if the worst came to pass.
Tsunade had the Jonin stationed around the village, at the gates both outside and inside. The Chunin would provide backup to the Jonin and help the Genin evacuate the Civilians to the shelters.
ANBU was to take up positions that would let them strike quickly in the event of invasion. Tsunade had called for Arashi to report to her office.
Arashi was now in the Hokage office, waiting for his instructions.
"Arashi, you will lead a team of Jonin out of the village and gather intel on the whirlpool in the sky" Tsunade stated.
"Yes, lady Hokage" Arashi replied.
Arashi left and headed to meet his team at the south gate; he saw he was going with his old Genin team, including his sensei, when he arrived.
"Hey, been a while" Kamiko stated
"What's the mission?" Ryuu enquired.
"My little Genin team, all grown up now" Hanako stated, looking at the three of them.
"It has, too long I think" Arashi replied to Kamiko.
"It's good to see you again, Hanako sensei" Arashi said, hugging her.
After a quick hug, Arashi informed them of what they had to do.
"Lady Tsunade has ordered us to go investigate that whirlpool in the sky and report back with whatever we find, we are not to engage any enemies unless it is unavoidable".
The three other Jonin nodded, and they headed out.
Present-day.
"Is it time?" a voice called out to Arashi.
"Yes, it is Kamiko" Arashi replied.
Arashi had taken inspiration from the Yondaime Hokage and began learning the Hiraishin and Fuinjutsu. While he was not considered a master in Fuinjutsu yet, he made good progress and was highly competent in them. His use of the Hiraishin had shocked the other villages and let everyone know that Konoha was not weak without the Yondaime, although he was nowhere near as fast as the Yondaime Hokage. Due to it taking longer to use and being slower than Minato in using the Hiraishin, Arashi also developed his Ninjutsu, Taijutsu and Kenjutsu.
His use of the Hiraishin earned him the nickname Konoha no Chīsana Senkō.
He was ordered to use his Hiraishin and take out the massing troops in Cha to clear the way for Konoha and Suna troops to attack at dawn, so off he went.
He scattered the Hiraishin Kunai over the enemy camp, some had seen the Kunai come down and land, but it didn't make any difference, Arashi flashed out of the tree he was in, using his Ninjato enhanced with lightning chakra to cut through the soldiers in the camp, men, woman, robots, soldiers, hunter or huntress, it did not matter, Arashi cut them down, by the time dawn broke the land was soaked with blood and bodies were strewn about the camp in various positions, some had slashes across their bodies, others were missing limbs.
"The Yondaime had some really OP abilities" Kamiko stated to Arashi as he entered the camp.
"Yes, he did, and I'm not even close to using them like he did" Arashi replied.
"You have gotten good with that Jutsu though" Hanako stated.
"Back in the day, you jumped twice and would pass out" Ryuu added.
"Practice makes perfect, I guess" Arashi replied, smiling as he remembered those times as well.
"We should all probably split up and watch a direction each" Hanako suggested.
"Good idea, I'll take West" Arashi replied.
"I'll go North" Kamiko stated.
"I'll take the East" Ryuu said.
"Then I guess I'll watch the South" Hanako stated.
"It shouldn't be long until the troops from Konoha and Suna are here" Arashi stated.
It was around 30 minutes after dawn broke could the footsteps of a marching Army be heard.
Konoha troops from the North and Suna troops from the West, both meeting up at the outpost Arashi had taken a few hours earlier, it had been raining for two days, making the ground very wet. Most paths were thick with mud which slowed movements down.
Arashi dropped out of the tree he was in, watching for any movement before the main troops arrived. He looked over at the column and saw the Konoha and Suna commanders.
The two commanders walked over to him.
"Nothing new to report," Arashi told the two commanders, recognising the Suna commander as Temari, brother of Gaara of the Sand.
Temari also recognised Arashi, he had arrived just as she and Kankuro were talking Gaara out of the stadium, she later learned that he had taken out most of the Suna and Oto Jonin that were in the stadium, as well as fighting one of the snakes that had been summoned
His use of the Hiraishin Jutsu in that battle cemented the fact that Konoha was still a powerhouse, and that while the Yondaime Hokage may be gone, his Jutsu are not
While not as good with the Hiraishin as the Yondaime Hokage, the other nations still feared the technique. Such is the legacy of the Yondaime Hokage.
She later learned that he had gone after them to kill the Sand Jinchūriki and force Suna to surrender, but by the time he was finished in the village, Temari had gotten Gaara out of the land of fire.
"We will be shadowing your advance, looking for small hit and run groups" Arashi informed Temari and Kakashi, the Konoha commander.
Temari nodded to Arashi, to which he returned, and then Temari left, getting her troops ready to march on the base 10KM south from them.
"She is ready to become a Jonin" Kakashi stated.
"If what I've read is correct, I agree" Arashi replied as he prepared to shadow the troops.
Kakashi said goodbye to Arashi and headed over to Temari to ready his own troops to advance on the base.
The troops began walking through the woodlands. It had been raining heavily, so the ground was quite marsh-like.
While the troops were stopped, they could see the carnage that Arashi had left.
"Is that him?" a Suna solder asked a Konoha soldier.
"Yes, Konoha no chīsana senkō" the Konoha soldier replied.
They could see the distinctive three-pronged Kunai everywhere, along with the bodies.
"I used to think the stories of your Yondaime were hyped up, but after seeing this… I think they have been watered down" the same Suna soldier stated.
Arashi watched the troops march forwards, towards the base, knowing that many would not return. The enemies used strange weapons, they were long and made of metal, and flung metal or plasma on their own, they posed no real threat, but in numbers, they posed somewhat of a threat, throw enough shit at a wall and eventually some will stick, most Shinobi were faster than those 'bullets', but all it took was one or two in the leg, and then you couldn't move fast enough to dodge them. The fact that they couldn't use Chakra was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. It made fighting so much easier, their 'aura' was simply put, silly, it provided basic protection, but more advanced Jutsu and swords swung hard enough or just enough times could shatter it. The only area that the outsiders had was in the air, but even then, an ANBU sent into the ship took care of it, or someone with a destructive Jutsu could damage it from the outside.
Gaara had singlehandedly cleared the skies over Suna of even their biggest ships by crushing them, and all on board with his sand, Lady Tsunade, Kakashi and even Arashi could take out the ships. Tsunade-Sama was ridiculously strong, she could punch the big ships out of the sky, Kakashi could get on board and kill everyone, Arashi could either get on board and kill everyone or use the Rasengan to blast at the hull of the ships, when Jiraiya summoned his toads the outsiders got the message, the skies over the major nations where off-limits, and now, the skies over the smaller nations were rapidly becoming the same.
A man, standing at 2 metres tall, in a white suit, with black hair shaved at the sides, stood on the bridge of his command ship.
He looked out of the bridge, he was not happy, by all accounts they should have beaten the natives of this world, other than big wooden ships suspended by lighter than air balloons and propelled by giant propellers, the natives had no air force to speak of, no guns, no aura and no mechs, but as if to spite them, the natives had pushed them back to the portal in three months, the large ships could venture no further than what they discovered was the land of Tea, as soon as they did, they were destroyed.
"Three months, Winter," the man said, "THREE MONTHS" he shouted, "In three months, they have pushed us back to the portal, our most advanced ships destroyed, our ground troops slaughtered" the man stated angrily, slamming his fists on his console.
Winter, the woman that stood next to him, just looked at General Ironwood. She knew better than to say anything at the moment.
"Even our Atlas drones are no match on the ground" Ironwood added.
"The only ones who can put up any fight is out Hunters and Huntresses" Ironwood stated, "but then one of their Jonin or worse, ANBU show up, and it's back to square one" the man continued getting angrier.
"This Chakra of theirs, it annoys me to no end, we haven't even been able to study it for more than a few hours, somehow, they find out when we capture their soldiers, and one of their ANBU turns up to rescue or kill them" he stated.
"General Ironwood, sir" an Atleasian soldier stated.
"What is it" Ironwood replied with anger still in his voice
Somewhat taken aback by the General's tone, the soldier reported "Sir, long-range scanners have detected a large shinobi force marching towards us from the North".
"Very well, dismissed" Ironwood replied.
"Sir" the soldier responded with a salute before quickly leaving.
"So, they finally come for us," Ironwood said to Winter.
"Should we order them to evacuate the base?" Winter asked.
"No, we shall hold them here, give time for reinforcements to come from Atlas" General Ironwood stated.
"But sir, if this report is correct, there are ten thousand shinobi, it seems that it is mostly Jonin and Chunin, and if the rumours are true, he is here," Winter said, emphasising the 'he'.
"Yes, this" Ironwood said, looking at his copy of the Shinobi bingo book "Little flash of the Leaf" Ironwood added.
"What kind of name is that" Ironwood stated, "For someone with his abilities to be called that" Ironwood continued.
"I think it is because of the Yellow Flash of the Leaf, I assume he must be slower" Winter stated her hypothesis.
Ironwood looked at Winter, "Tell them to hold the line, we outnumber them 10 to 1" Ironwood ordered.
Winter looked shocked that he would sacrifice so many lives when they had time to evacuate, she knew that even at the ratio of 10 to 1, it wouldn't be a close fight, the Shinobi would win like they always do, "and if he is here, if Arashi is here, then any ships in the skies are fair game as well" Winter thought.
It took an hour for the Konoha-Suna forces to reach the final base these 'Remnants' had on the Elemental Nations. The Shinobi marched, their spirits high, soon they were told to quieten down, as they got close. Eventually, it was time to strike, the order came, and the Konoha-Suna forces charged forwards, towards the one hundred thousand strong enemies.
Arashi and the Shinobi he was with had shadowed the soldiers, making sure no surprise attacks could stop the main force, soon they stood on trees, hidden from everything and everyone.
"We should join them, take out strategic points" Arashi stated.
"I agree, commanders and such" Hanako added.
"I'll take our injured to the medical outpost" Arashi stated.
They all nodded at each other and got to work.
"DESTROY THE PRIMITIVES" an Atleasian commander shouted to rouse her troops, then she saw a shinobi in a crimson coat.
"I shall take you here and now" the woman stated to Arashi.
Arashi looked around, he put the Shinobi he just picked up back down and turned to her.
The woman dashed at him, she had a large scimitar, Arashi dodged all her strikes.
The woman charged her scimitar with a red crystal, it then spewed fire.
Reacting quickly Arashi ran through hand signs.
Tora, U, I, Hitsuji, Inu, Ushi, Mi.
"Doton Doryūheki" Arashi said mentally.
A small wall appeared in front of Arashi, blocking the flames from reaching him or the wounded Shinobi.
The female commander watched as the flames dissipated, she saw the wall and realised the Shinobi was unharmed.
Before she could do anything else though, a sword pierced her abdomen from behind, a thin straight blade covered in lightning.
"Da… Damn you" she said weakly as she collapsed, her life leaving her body.
Arashi sheathed his Ninjato and took the injured Shinobi back to the medical post.
"It's begun, sir" Winter stated with a hint of disgust in her voice.
"Even with our numerical advantage, it is clear that we cannot hold them" Winter reported to General Ironwood
Ironwood looked sombre for a brief moment. "Their sacrifice will forever be remembered; our reinforcements are coming through any moment" Ironwood replied.
"Sir, with all due respect, what would reinforcements do but delay the inevitable" Winter asked.
Ironwood looked at Winter, "This is classified information, it is not to leave this room" Ironwood stated.
Winter nodded.
"The Schnee dust company in cooperation with Atlas R&D have developed a new weapon, a bomb to be precise" Ironwood stated.
"It is an experimental device, using vast quantities of unstable dust and focusing it into one stable used crystal, the pressure builds and then it will release untold quantities of energy" Ironwood stated with a satisfied look, "We will find one of these hidden villages and destroy it" Ironwood added
"And civilians" Winter asked.
"There is always collateral in war" Ironwood stated with a glint in his eye
Winter externally remained the same, however, internally she was horrified, she couldn't let this stand, to kill Shinobi was one thing, they were soldiers fighting for their homes, but civilians, children and the elderly was not something she could stomach, even if they were from another world.
Ironwood watched the terminal closely, more and more of his forces were falling, soon, however, he spied one of his outposts being used by the Shinobi, he had an idea. He pressed a button and spoke into the terminal, "Target these coordinates and fire our main canon".
Soon the main gun of the Atleasian Airship was charging, it was aimed at the outpost Arashi had cleared before dawn.
"Sir, are you really going to target a medical outpost!?" Winter asked.
"Yes, Winter, that is an enemy position, and soon they will be back in the fight" Ironwood stated.
The outpost was on the screens, the main canon had charged, and a long stream of plasma shot out of the ship heading for the outpost, everyone at the base looked up at the ship as it fired. Winter couldn't bear to watch.
Arashi had just dropped off four injured Shinobi at the medical outpost when he saw the bright blue beam heading for the area he was in.
The injured Shinobi and medical staff had a mix of worry and disgust, to attack the wounded, despicable some thought.
"Oh no you don't" Arashi stated out loud, drawing some looks.
Arashi made hand signs, Mi, Una, Ne, Hitsuji, then extended his hands out flat, making a diamond shape with his index fingers and thumbs. Eight lines of writing appeared in the sky, all forming at one single point, the point where the beam hit, the very fabric of the sky began to warp as the beam was sucked into the point where the lines met; eventually, the last of the beam joined the rest of the beam and disappeared into the writing.
"WHAT" General Ironwood shouted in utter fury. "WHAT WAS THAT WHERE IS THE PLASMA BEAM" the General demanded.
Winter looked up at the screen, she saw the lines fade, and then behind the lines, in the middle of the outpost, she saw what she feared would be here.
Winter did not have time to finish her thoughts when the ship lurched to the side, a shockwave and a loud bang reverberated throughout the ship, the lights went out, and the terminals shut off.
"What was that" Ironwood demanded to know.
"Sir, from what we saw from the sensors before the power went out, our own plasma beam hit us" a crewman stated.
"How is that possible? You can't just change the direction of condensed plasma mid-flight" Ironwood stated.
"Sir, I saw him before the power went out. He's here" Winter stated, holding her arm.
Ironwood looked confused for a moment but then realised who she meant, "So, the little flash has come to play" Ironwood stated.
As Ironwood looked to be contemplating something, a crewman ran in and said, "Sir, we have restored power to the right stabiliser. It won't keep us airborne for long though, the left stabiliser is gone".
"Abandon ship" General Ironwood stated.
"Sir" the crewman responded.
"Once reinforcements come, we will set off the Dust bomb and destroy the Shinobi here, that should hamper their efforts and give us time to rebuild" Ironwood stated to Winter.
Winter wasn't sure what to do, all she knew was that she had to get off the ship, to try and stop this madness.
"A medical outpost, a fucking medical outpost, and they call us savages," Arashi thought to himself.
A pink-haired Genin was heading for the Jonin who saved them all, but as she was about to get close, he vanished.
Arashi had decided to change his role from medical transport to Anti-Air, he soon found himself in the ship that had fired the shot; typically, he would have used a Rasengan from the outside and blow it apart, but this time he thought he'd pay the one who fired the shot a visit.
The troops on the ship stood no chance, even by Atlas standards, they were not great combatants.
"If you are unarmed or surrender, you can leave" Arshi stated clearly
Arashi cut his way through everyone else, his Ninjato enhanced with lightning cut through their armour as a hot knife cuts through butter.
He didn't run, he didn't shout, he walked, walked at a casual pace, slashing anyone who did not surrender. Most never even saw the blade move.
"You Shinobi barbarian, this is where you die. I'm an Atlas specialist" the Atlas specialist said.
Arashi put his sword through the specialist's throat before she could move, she looked at him with hate in her eyes.
"Some specialist" Arashi replied as the life left her eyes.
He withdrew his sword from her and continued walking towards the bridge.
Winter had a few personnel in her personal airship and was about to leave General Ironwood's ship. She was going to report General Ironwood to the council and hopefully stop the slaughter, the panicked screaming from behind her caught her attention as she made sure the craft was ready.
"What is it" she asked.
"LOOK" the terrified man stated, pointing at the person walking towards the ship.
Winter followed the man's finger, and soon she too was terrified. Walking slowly towards her ship was the little flash of the leaf, she watched as he methodically cut through the hunters and drones, his lightning covered blade making it seem like their armour or aura was non-existent.
It would take too long for her ship to take off, and she knew how fast Shinobi were, even if the ship was ready, he could get to them before it took off or destroy it as it took off, she would have to fight.
"Get out of here, tell them what's going on, GO" Winter said to the others on her ship.
Winter drew her sword, she gulped as sweat ran down her face. Winter knew she didn't stand a chance, she clenched her hilt and shook as the man approached her.
Slowly, he approached the white-haired girl, the last few hunters that stood between him and her, dead.
"My ship is almost ready, I want to leave and tell my people what's happening, I want to end this violence" Winter said, hoping he would listen to her.
What happened next shocked her. Arashi, the one she had heard the stories of, the stories that made him out to be a demon, nodded his head in the direction of her ship.
It took Winter a moment to realise what he meant, once it clicked, she walked backwards slowly, not taking her eyes off him until the ramp to her ship had closed.
As she finished her preflight and took off, she kept waiting for him to strike, she was never very religious, but she prayed with all her might to Oum that the Shinobi would let them go in peace.
The ship took off and flew out of the hanger, everyone was silent, all the way back to Remnant.
Arashi continued his journey to the bridge of the ship. After fifteen or so minutes, Arashi had reached the bridge, he stood there, in silence, covered in blood, he stared right at the man who caused all this, right into the eyes of General Ironwood.
Six hunters and huntresses surrendered him.
"You may think you are special, but we are the Ace-Ops" the small, dark-skinned one stated.
"Harriet, he probably can't even understand you" the bald, pale-skinned one told the now named Harriet.
"Ace-Ops, that's funny" Arashi replied with genuine laughter in their language.
Some of Ace-Ops was surprised that he knew their language.
"We'll see who's laughing soon" Harriet stated with anger as the six charged at the Shinobi.
Arashi didn't fight back, he dodged and blocked every single one of their attacks. For the next five minutes, he made the "Ace-Ops" look like children playing with toys, all while he never took his eyes of the General.
"H… How" the tall, dark-skinned one asked.
"STOP PLAYING" Harriet shouted.
"As you wish" Arashi responded, before the short girl blinked, her hands had been cut off, she didn't even feel it happen, let alone see it.
"Agh" She screamed in pain, dropping to her knees.
"Harriet" Clover called.
Soon, Arashi started on the other 5, systematically cutting them down while Harriet watched in horror as the supposed Ace-Ops were killed.
"Ace-Ops, what a joke" Arashi stated loudly and clearly as he approached her.
"No" was all Harriet got out before her head had been cut clean from her body as it rolled along the floor. Arashi never once took his eyes off Ironwood.
"Those were my best operatives" Ironwood said with grated teeth.
"Were, being the optimal word… I would assume" Arashi replied.
Ironwood went for his revolvers but soon found his right arm missing, Arashi had moved faster than he could see. Ironwood didn't feel the strike, he only felt the pain afterwards, Ironwood fell to the floor clenching his open wound, he could see his arm, not even a metre from him.
"Do it" Ironwood said defiantly, "but know, that soon we will win this war" Ironwood added.
"With pleasure" Arashi responded about to kill the General, as he reached the apex of his swing, the monitors lit up, and over the speakers, a voice spoke, "This is acting General Winter Schnee to all Atleasian ships and troops in the area known as the Elemental Nations, retreat, we have sent an envoy to the Hokage and Kazekage for a cease-fire, the war is over, come home" she said.
Arashi smiled slightly. "Seems like letting her go was the right choice" he thought.
"Looks like it's your lucky day, General" Arashi stated before vanishing.
The War was over, finally.
Trying to keep it somewhat close to the anime, if you are confused, this takes place one year after Naruto left with Jiraiya for training.
Arashi is one year older than Itachi, he would train with Itachi before he "left" the village.
Just some backstory, I'll work in more if it fits with the story.
Constructive criticism is always appreciated
