Note: I've been wanting to do a Shadow x Sakura story for a while. So, this came to me. This is just after the fourth great Shinobi War and after SA2, Shadow has his memories still of Maria and he remembers what happened on Space Colney Ark, he just staying away from Sonic and Co. and they think that he's dead. The events of Shadow the Hedgehog have not happened :) Not yet anyways… so, no Black Doom.

Prologue

He was going to turn away, he really was - but he saw her lying there and the memory of Maria came to mind, and he cursed under his breath. He sighed as he walked back to the human female and kneeled down next to her. To his surprise, she had short pink hair - which reminded him of a certain pink furred hedgehog female that followed that faker around. But as he looked at the female, he noticed that she was pretty banged up. Her right sleeve was torn off from her arm and she had cuts all over her body and face, she had a small purple diamond-shaped on her forehead… which was odd - since he had never seen such a thing before, he wondered what it was, it looked like a tattoo of some sort, but he wasn't sure. She looked like she just came from a huge battle… she looked like she was hurt. He sighed again and he picked her up into his arms and found that she was pretty light. He looked down at her and frowned.

Who was this girl?

Without thinking twice, he sped off towards his home, near the forest.

The first thing that Sakura Haruno noticed was that she was sore, and her body was hurting all over the place. She blinked open her emerald-green eyes and then closed them again because of the bright sun. She blinked again and found herself in someone's bed and it was comfy… where was she? She also noticed her hand was bandaged, along with her arm where her shirt was torn from the sleeve. Someone had patched her up - but who?

"You're up." The voice was deep and alluring and she sat up and looked towards the voice, only to find an ebony-black hedgehog with red stripes on his furred body and quills. He (the hedgehog) was almost humanoid looking, standing on two legs wearing white socks and air shoes. White gloves on his hand with gold rings around his wrist, a white patch of fur on his chest, and crimson-colored eyes that almost reminded her of Sasuke Uchiha's eyes - well almost. She frowned - she was seeing things, right? He noticed her frown and he raised what would've been an eyebrow. "Not that I care - but are you alright?"

His attitude was so Sasuke-like… only Sasuke would've never asked if she was alright…

"I'm fine… are you the one that bandaged me up?"

"Hn."

She supposed that was a yes. She smiled at him, making his tan muzzle blush slightly. "Thank you."

"Hn."

She wanted to laugh. He was a lot like Sasuke when he was younger, and a sad look went across her eyes. But the Hedgehog seemed to notice but he said nothing. A smile graced her pink lips. "What's your name?" she asked as she looked at him. "…" he stayed silent as he looked at her with his crimson-colored eyes. "Oh, c'mon! I would like to know the name of the hedgehog who saved me."

"… Shadow, Shadow the Hedgehog…" he had looked away from her as he said his name, his blush had gone away - thankfully - why was he blushing in the first place? She was a human…

"Shadow… that's a good name." she said with a smile. She put a hand to her chest. "My name is Sakura Haruno, I'm from Konoha…" he blinked at her. "Konoha… what is that?" he asked; curious. She frowned. "You never heard of Konoha? The village hidden in the leaves?" he shook his head. "… no, should I?" Her frown deepened, she didn't like where this was going. Was she even in the Shinobi Nation? "Where am I, anyway?" she questioned. "You are in my home, near Station Square."

"Station Square?" he saw the confused look on her face, was she lost? She tried to get up, but he stopped her from doing so. "You're hurt. You need to rest." She looked at him with seriousness in her emerald-green eyes. "Am I not in the Shinobi Nation?"

"The what?"
