In the middle of a playground, a young boy by the name of Izuku Midoriya was trying to defend a crying scraggly boy with blonde hair from a group of bullies being led by his former friend, Katsuki Bakugou.
"Stop it, Kaachan! Heroes should never bully others!"
"Look at Deku trying to be a Hero!" Katsuki smirked arrogantly. "You think you're hot shit despite not having a Quirk? Too bad, so get outta the way!"
"Hey, leave him alone!"
The group of bullies and Izuku turned to see a girl the same age as Izuku and Katsuki there. She had violet eyes which peaked out from behind similar colored bangs, a light indigo streak just off the left side of her hair.
"Hey, it's that nerd girl that transferred over to our class last month! What was her name? Twilight Sparkle?"
"That's really just my nickname." The girl said. "All my friends call me it. My real name is actually Lydia Yugure."
"So what? Are you here to defend this Quirkless loser too?" Katsuki huffed. "I don't like hitting girls, so beat it!"
"That's fine with me...because this girl can hit you!"
Before Katsuki and his cronies could react, they were suddenly lifted off the ground by purple magical sparkles and tripped onto their bottoms. Izuku turned to Twilight in awe as her fingers were emitting the same sparkles.
"Come on, let's go!" Twilight hurriedly said as Izuku and the boy he had been defending ran after her before Katsuki and his goons could even realize what had just happened.
Eight years had passed since that day and in that time, Izuku and Twilight had become very close friends. It had gotten to the point that Izuku eventually transferred over to Twilight's junior high school.
The world in which the two boys lived in was full of strange and anomalous powers called Quirks. People with these gifts often became real-life superheroes or supervillains. Heroes and Villains with Quirks tended to battle each other, the heroes protecting the people while the villains fought for their own self-interests.
Right now, Izuku and Twilight were watching as a giant villain was rampaging through the city. Already, heroes were on the scene. The first one to arrive was Death Arms, who possessed a simple [Super Strength] Quirk that let him catch a falling radio tower the giant villain had knocked over.
Helping to keep civilians out of the line of fire was Backdraft, a fire rescue hero whose Quirk, [Water Pump], could create an endless supply of water from the spigots growing from his hands, and manipulate that water at will. Some of the people noted that the giant villain was just an amateur purse thief who got cornered, and it wasn't long before they found out by whom.
A hero leaped down, looking like he was wearing wood for armor. His name was Kamui Woods, a rising star in the hero scene with the Quirk [Arbor], which let him generate and control wood.
Perching himself on equal height with the giant villain, Kamui Woods extended branch-like tentacles from his fingers to restrain him.
"You're charged with assault, robbery, and illegal use of Quirk! LACQUERED CHAIN PRISON!"
"Heads up, Woods!" Death Arms called out.
Kamui Woods noticed what Death Arms was gesturing at and sighed, seeing a large young woman in a skin-tight leotard, a few feet taller than the giant villain, leaping in Kamen Rider style.
"CANYON CANNON!"
She immediately dropkicked the villain, knocking him off the bridge. Cameramen suddenly appeared in droves, trying to get a picture as the attractive woman was bent over while tying up the villain.
"Ugh, perverts..." Twilight scoffed in disgust as she noticed Izuku hurriedly writing down notes about the newcomer.
"Piece of cake for the world's hottest new superhero. Hello there, everyone, I'm Mount Lady. You won't have to worry about this bum anymore~."
Izuku blushed in embarrassment at the woman's provocative pun and pose as Twilight grabbed him by the ear and dragged him along to school.
Izuku and Twilight eventually made it to their school, Canterlot Junior High. They were currently in their last year and at that time had made many friends. Five, in particular, stood out most of all.
"Alright class, I know you all must be very excited about your future careers. Then again, most of you are looking forward to becoming Heroes, after all."
"You know it! We're gonna be the most awesome heroes the world has ever seen!" Said a tomboyish girl with rainbow-dyed hair and magenta eyes. Her name was Iro Dashell or Rainbow Dash as everyone called her. Despite her hotheaded disposition, she was one of the most loyal friends anyone could ask for.
"Settle on down, Dash." Said a southern-accented voice belonging to Jackie Applelane, or Applejack as everyone called her. An honest, hard-working girl, Applejack was always there to lend a hand when needed.
"Thank you, Applejack." The teacher said. "Now, since most of you are quite eager to take the Hero Profession, how about a quiz? Midoriya, what would you say the two most important attributes of a hero are?"
"A willingness to do what is right and the ability to use your power in a way that can help people," Izuku answered.
The teacher nodded. "Indeed. Most people these days only want to be heroes for money or fame, and not necessarily for altruistic reasons."
"Well, some of us desire fame to be recognized as worthy heroes to the public." Said a beautiful girl with elegantly curled indigo hair. "And besides, I plan to share my future wealth with everyone once I become a glamorous star."
The girl was Rarita Kagayaku or Rarity as her friends called her. Though she was a bit of a drama queen and could be a bit selfish at times, she was a truly generous girl who always pulled through for those she cared about.
"I just want to help people..." Timidly said a girl with long light pink hair and pale skin. This was Himari Utsukushicho, also known as Fluttershy by her friends. True to her nickname, she was quite shy and soft-spoken but had the biggest heart out of anybody and could be assertive when the need called for it.
"Yeah! I wanna be a hero who can make people smile!" Cheerfully said a girl with poofy pink hair almost reminiscent of cotton candy with bright blue eyes. This was Diane Hanasakura or Pinkie Pie as she was known by everyone. A boundless bundle of energy, Pinkie could make anybody smile just by being there.
The teacher cleared his throat. "The point is, while many of you are qualified for plenty of decent hero schools, this class has seven students who aced the mock exam into UA High."
"And those seven are us!" Rainbow Dash said proudly, referring to herself, Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Izuku.
"Izuku is pretty dang smart, that's for sure." Applejack smiled. "Some of us probably wouldn't have managed to get as good a score as we did if not for him."
"Yeah! He's the best! That's why he and Twilight are the leaders!" Pinkie said, hugging Izuku since she sat right next to him.
Izuku blushed. "P-Pinkie, please..."
Meanwhile, a villain whose Quirk allowed him to turn his body into sludge was running from a store, cash stuffed into his body. As he made his escape, a blonde-haired skeleton of a man came out of a convenience store and spotted the robbery.
"Man, it's like there's no stopping these villains." A civilian commented as he saw the villain getting away.
"YES, THERE IS!" A booming voice said as everyone turned to see that, in place of the skinny man, a now muscular grinning giant was present. "BECAUSE I AM HERE!"
The Sludge Villain turned around and his eyes widened in horror when he saw practically every villain's worst nightmare.
"OH SHIT!"
As Izuku put the finishing touches on his thirteenth analysis journal for heroes, he thought about how blessed he was to have such good friends in Twilight and the others. They accepted him despite his Quirklessness and were the ones who helped push him into pursuing his dreams despite the odds being stacked against him.
"As long as we're together, there's nothing that can shake our friendship!" Twilight had said a few years ago, just after they had first welcomed Applejack into their friend group.
Izuku was suddenly snapped out of his trip down memory lane as he entered an alleyway and heard a gurgling sound, it was the Sludge Villain.
"A perfectly sized skinsuit! Hold still, kid! I'm just gonna jack your body!"
Izuku panicked as the Sludge Villain pounced on him, only to suddenly be surrounded by a sphere of familiar magical sparkles. Izuku smiled in relief when he turned to see Twilight and the rest of the girls there.
"Am I glad to see you guys!"
Twilight smirked. "You ran off ahead of us, silly! Thankfully Fluttershy's animal friends were able to track you."
A little pigeon floated down and perched itself on Fluttershy's shoulder, the timid girl giggling as she stroked it under its chin.
"LEMME OUTTA HERE! I NEED TO GET AWAY FROM-!" The Sludge Villain pleaded, only to be cut off by a nearby manhole cover flying off behind him.
"HAVE NO FEAR, YOUNG ONES! YOU ARE SAFE, FOR I AM HERE!" A booming voice equal parts friendly and angry came out.
Izuku's eyes widened and stars sparkled in them. The girls all were equally surprised and awestruck as he was. Even without the costume, the seven friends recognized the blonde muscleman.
"HOLY COW, IT'S ALL MIGHT!" Rainbow Dash squealed, squishing her face. "It's so awesome...!"
Indeed, it was All-Might, the #1 Pro Hero and Symbol of Peace in Japan. There was probably not a single person who didn't know about him, he was just that iconic.
Twilight's surprise had caused her to release the Sludge Villain, who moved to attack All-Might with his amorphous body, but the mighty hero was as fast as he was strong. He launched a powerful shockwave with his right arm.
"TEXAS SMASH!"
The Sludge Villain was blown apart by the resulting tornado. Izuku and his friends were almost blown away too but they all managed to hold on as best they could.
"Whoa, nelly!" Applejack exclaimed.
"Did we just see one of All-Might's signature smashes...UP CLOSE?!" Pinkie Pie excitedly asked. "I'M NEVER FORGETTING THIS DAY!"
As the winds settled down, All-Might approached the seven teens, glad to see there were no injuries amongst them.
"Sorry about all that, kids. Good work on keeping that villain at bay. I was able to capture him as a result."
He showed the Sludge Villain, now sealed in an empty soda bottle. Izuku and the girls were practically speechless.
"Oh my, he's so fast!" Fluttershy whispered in amazement.
By the time Izuku realized he had to get an autograph, scrambling to find something to write with, he found that All-Might had already signed his notebook.
"REALLY fast, it seems." Rarity commented as everyone stared at the autograph like it was an ancient treasure that had just been unburied.
"Thank you so much for this!" Izuku said, bowing in gratitude.
"We gotta frame this!" Rainbow Dash excitedly said.
All-Might gave a thumbs-up in response. "Well, I should get this evil-doer over to the proper authorities. You all stay out of trouble now."
With that, the Symbol of Peace leaped off. The girls continued to stare in awe at him as he left before Fluttershy realized someone was missing from their group.
"Um, girls...w-where's Izuku?"
The other five realized Fluttershy was right; Izuku had abruptly just vanished. Suddenly, they noticed All-Might had an unwanted passenger clinging onto his leg as he jumped off into the distance.
"THAT BUCKING IDIOT!" Rainbow Dash screamed.
All-Might was quite shocked when he noticed Izuku had ended up hitching a ride onto his leg for whatever reason.
"Whoa there! If you wanted a day to hang out, you could have just asked!"
"I'M SORRY, THERE'S SOMETHING REALLY IMPORTANT I NEEDED TO TELL YOU!" Izuku cried.
All-Might could sense the boy was serious and decided to land on a nearby rooftop. Once he did, he shocked Izuku by shrinking back into the skeletal man he had been before.
"Sorry about that, kid," he said, his voice now a much more normal tone. "So what did you want to ask me?"
A New Year means a New Me and this time, I'm going to take the bull by the horns and make a BNHA story that'll work for me! Though My Little Pony will be the primary crossover, you should all know by now that there will be plenty more along the way!
