Chapter I
Hello everyone! This is my first ever fanfic, so please be kind but also do not hesitate to reach out or comment on any criticisms. I hope you all grow to like me OC, Kimiko Sawamura. I had an image of Kaori from Your Lie in April for the character design, but if you all would like to make this into more of a xreader y/n fanfic feel free to do so! You definitely don't have to stick with my designs. Please enjoy!
Today was the third day of classes at UA High, and class 1-A was buzzing with excitement.
"Did you hear the last student is finally arriving today!" asked an enthusiastic pink girl. "Oh yeah, I heard something about her papers being mailed late or something" Replied a bored looking girl with dark hair and earphone jacks extending her earlobes.
Several students were huddled together discussing the arrival of the final student, debating on what her quirk may be. "I bet it's crazy strong if she got in on a recommendation!" added a boy with spiky red hair and a big grin on his face.
"They're really not all that special" a monotone voice replied from the front of the classroom.
Everyone turned quickly in that direction, a gasp emanating through the classroom. 'When did she get here?' They thought while they sweat dropped.
At the front of the classroom stood a petite, blonde haired and blue eyed girl. Her shoulder length hair was pushed back in a headband, allowing the scars on her hair line to be on full display.
"Everyone settle down and get in your seats. Introduce yourself." came the tired voice of the homeroom teacher. "Hi everyone, my name is Sawamura Kimiko," the small girl gave a big smile to the class, "I don't like formalities so please call me Kimiko."
A blond boy with a black lightning bolt in his hair stood up, a serious look on his face and a blush dusting his cheeks "are you… an enchantress?" he asked. Kimiko couldn't stop the laugh that escaped her lips as she shook her head at his question.
Aizawa was less amused by Kaminari's outburst, "Kaminari, don't ask stupid questions. Kimiko, go sit down."
"Sir yes sir" she said with a smile as she made her way through the seats and plopped down in the back.
"We're training off site today. Grab your costumes if you would like. But keep in mind they may hinder you if you're not used to them." Aizawa sighed before continuing "We're taking a bus in 20 minutes, be ready." and then he walked out of the room.
After Aizawa made his exit, a brunette girl turned around in her seat, big brown eyes and a soft smile, "Hi! I'm Uraraka Ochako!" Kimiko couldn't help but return her smile as she said "I'm excited to be here! Thank you for being so welcoming."
A few more of the girls came over asking general questions and introducing themselves until a boy with a stern face and glasses loudly announced
"Ladies, please make your way to the locker room if we are to be punctual!" All of the girls rolled their eyes at his demand as they made their way towards the door.
Once they were in the locker room, Kimiko looked around uneasy, her body was covered in scars underneath her uniform and she wasn't sure how the others would react.
"Do you have a costume yet Kimiko?" A girl with an insanely volumized ponytail asked. Turning around to reply, Kimiko's eyes widened at Yoayorozu's hero costume - the lack of material covering her chest causing the tips of her ears to turn pink from embarrassment.
"Er yes I do! Uhm Yoayorozu…, does your costume help your quirk?"
"Yeah but they really didn't need to go this far," she said while covering her face and sighing.
Kimiko could see the embarrassment on Yoayorozu's face and immediately regretted asking, not wanting to embarrass her friend, she quickly added "I like it! It makes you look like a real hero!"
looking down at the fabric in her hands, Kimiko said "my costume isn't flashy at all…"
'Maybe I should have put more into it…'
Turning quickly, Kimiko went and changed into her costume, it may not be flashy, but she loved it. The black elastic shorts were a little shorter and tighter than intended, but the thigh high black boots with red flames going up the calves added a pop of color.
The top was simple enough, a black tank top and a pair of red fingerless gloves. The requested belt held an array of throwing knives as well as a small bandage kit - just in case.
'I finally feel like a hero.' Staring into the mirror, she looked at the scars on her face. 'It feels strange showing them off like this, I like it.'
Taking a deep breath, she reminded herself that Aizawa had encouraged her to see the beginning at UA as a fresh start. No more labs, no more hospitals, no more Jashin.
Looking at her costume one last time, she walked out to join the others. Sticking close to Uraraka as they waited to load the bus, Uraraka introduced her to a green haired boy named Midoriya Izuku, he seemed nice.
Once they were on the bus, she could tell Uraraka was torn between sitting with her or Midoriya, wide brown eyes going between the green haired boy and the blonde girl.
"I actually get carsick, so I'll go sit in the front!" She lied smiling at Uraraka, turning around to sit towards the front, 'I think there is still a seat next to the angry looking boy.'
'Thank the gods it's still open!' She thought as her small figure approached the boy. "Do you mind if I sit next to you?" she asked with a light smile, hoping to appear unthreatening.
He turned, a prominent frown on his face as his eyes hardened into a glare. "Who the hell are you?" he asked-or more like demanded.
She froze, blinking at him, had he not been in class when she introduced herself? Whatever. She sighed, 'I don't have the energy to deal with him.'
Keeping the smile firmly in place, she replied with a soft "I'm Kimiko." His scowl deepened, crimson orbs meeting ocean blue as the small girl maintained a smiling face, 'what is he so intense for' she thought, fighting against the urge to roll her eyes.
With a huff he turned his head and looked out the window. Taking that as a yes, she sat down, being sure to keep space between them to not upset him.
"Hey, hey Kimi-chan, what is your quirk?" an energetic voice called from behind her seat. Smiling at the nickname, "oh I was born with a healing quirk! I can't heal myself or anything, but I can heal and take away the pain of others." She replied to Ashido, a chorus of 'ooh's' rang through the bus.
"Wow Kimiko! Healing quirks are really rare!" said Uraraka, Turning her head, Kimiko smiled at her. "Hey, what did you mean when you said you were born with it? That's a weird way to say it." Asked a red head across from me, 'oh crap, what was his name?'
Running her fingers through her hair, she replied with an awkward smile,"yeah I worded it kind of funny." The expectant faces of her classmates encouraged her to continue.
"But that's because I developed a second quirk two years ago," she added, glancing at Aizawa, he wasn't showing any emotion so she figured she was in the clear to say that.
Before anyone could react, Midoriya shouted "Kimiko-chan, how did you develop a second quirk so late?"
Smiling, the girl in question simply shrugged, clearly uncomfortable with the question, the red haired guy 'Kirishima, that's his name!' changed the topic "That's really cool! My power isn't very flashy, I'm always worried I won't get noticed." He said.
Kimiko met his eyes, giving him a thankful nod of her head, before turning back to face the front of the bus.
"Ah! It's still a cool quirk for a pro Kirishima!" responded Midoriya. Suddenly Tsuyu appeared behind Kirishima and said "Bakugou might be powerful but he is always so angry, he'll never be popular"
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU SAY?! YOU WANNA SAY THAT TO MY FACE, FROG GIRL!"
'Ah, I'm sitting next to Bakugou I assume.'
"See?"
Fighting back the urge to laugh at her response, the dual quirked girl decided it was best to tune everything out.
Can't risk making him even more mad. Bakugou continued to yell and laughter spread throughout the bus.
"We'll be there shortly, so quit getting riled up!" shouted Aizawa irritably from his sleeping bag. Kimiko smirked at him, 'trying to nap as usual' she thought, making eye contact with him.
Leaning back in her seat, she allowed her thoughts to drift as she closed her eyes. Memories of a white room, a man in a lab coat, a syringe in his hand, eyes gleaming and a large grin adorning his face.
Tugging at the restraints she tried to move. Bracing herself for the pain that was about to come, she tensed, shutting her eyes tightly.
"Now, now Sawamura-chan, if you would just synchronize with this quirk, you wouldn't be in any more pain. Be a good girl for me." He said as he approached, the syringe was getting closer and closer, her body tensed.
Kimiko awoke with a start, eyes flashing open. 'I couldn't have been asleep for more than a minute' she thought. Suppressing a shudder, she leaned forward resting her elbows on her knees, allowing her head to fall forward.
Breathing deeply, she thought about the dream - more of a memory she supposed. 'It felt so real… But I'm safe. Aizawa says so.' she reminded herself.
Bakugou looked at the new girl next to him out of the corner of his eye. There was something off about her, he could feel it. The way she jolted awake had startled him, not that he let it show, her face was pale with fear.
Shaking his head back and forth he risked one more glance at the blonde haired girl next to him, crimson eyes met ocean blue, as he startled back.
Pointing a menacing glare at the girl, he felt his eyebrow twitch as she merely blinked back at him before returning to stare at the ground.
With a huff, he turned his attention back to the window. 'This new girl is pissing me off.'
Once the bus finally stopped, the students got off one at a time and followed Aizawa inside. Kimiko stayed close behind Bakugou.
He may be loud and mean, but he doesn't seem like the type to ask questions. And after the talks on the bus, as well as her nightmare, she could use someone who isn't asking questions.
The blonde girl gazed around the training facility. It had a landslide zone, fire, shipwreck and other disasters, she supposed this meant they were doing rescue missions.
She could feel her mind wandering as another teacher and hero, Thirteen, began explaining what they were doing today.
Opting to ignore Thirteen for the time being, Kimiko wandered over to Aizawa, "Is rescue practice making you uncomfortable?" he asked quietly.
She shrugged, "kind of, but it's part of the job isn't it?" she said with a small grin. Aizawa simply lifted a brow at her obvious discomfort and fake smile.
He opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by strange sputtering sounds from the fountain. There was a black mist hanging over the fountain, a hand appearing through it.
Eyes widening, she glanced at Aizawa as he already began pushing her behind him. "Did the training start already?" she could hear Kirishima ask. 'No…no that's not training.' she thought, fear coursing through her veins.
"Thirteen, protect the students! Listen up, this is not training, those are real villains!" Aizawa shouted as he glanced behind him, his eyes locking with bright blue orbs, her mind filled with fear as he turned, running forward to protect them.
"I can't get a signal to reach the school!" Cried Kaminari as the students began huddling together.
"The alarms aren't going off… are they attacking everywhere or just here?" said a red and white haired boy, his tone flat and his face neutral.
Iida, the class representative, shouted above the chaos. "Everyone, take shelter! Leave this to the teachers."
Kimiko wanted to follow the group, but hesitated as she looked back to where Aizawa ran off 'But Aizawa… He's risking his life for us.'
A hand roughly grabbed her forearm as she was dragged along towards the rest of the group. "Stop acting like a damn extra new girl!" shouted an angry Bakugou as he glared down at her.
Fighting the urge to argue back with his insult, the girl yanked her wrist from his grasp, a glare on her face. "Don't touch me again," she said through gritted teeth.
The group began running towards the entrance, following Iida's lead. Kimiko was fighting back a bad feeling in her gut, she wanted to go back and fight with Aizawa.
Head down, she stuck close behind Bakugou and Kirishima. 'I can't believe I said that to him,' shaking her head, 'he was only trying to help me too,' she thought while looking at the angry blonde boy.
She had a bad feeling they may not live long enough for her to apologize as the black mist formed in front of them blocking their path.
"It's nice to meet you," it spoke as the students began backing up, "We are the League of Villains. We've invited ourselves into UA, the breeding ground of heroes, to defeat the Symbol of Peace: All Might! Now, where is he?"
Kimiko frowned at the mention of the name, she noticed Midoriya's hands balling into fists next to her. "Well, it doesn't really matter," the dark figure continued as his mist began to grow, "I'll play my part…"
"Get back!" Thirteen yelled from behind the group of students. She quickly lifted her hand, prepared to attack when Kirishima and Bakugou suddenly leapt towards the villain.
"Like we're just going to let you do that!" Kirishima shouted, grinning proudly as he landed a blow.
For a second, Kimiko thought their attacks worked.
"Oh my, that's dangerous," the figure mocked as he reformed. "It's time for you all to scatter, and meet your deaths." The mist began to overtake them, Kimiko ran towards Ururaka, their eyes locking as she outstretched her hand, reaching for her, and then Kimiko was devoured by the mist.
