The transparent silhouettes of the cats gathered around the starry pool. The bright specks of light that made up their pelts shone brightly. A tabby with blue eyes stepped up to the very edge of the pool, and began addressing the other cats.

"Members of Starclan," he started, "I have felt a disturbance in this place's balance. The universe is trying to tell us something."

Instantly, murmurs began from the others. After a long while, the noise stopped, and the blue-eyed cat continued.

"Aspenleaf, you are no doubt the best at reading the hands of fate. Would you come explain this message?"

"With pleasure," Aspenleaf said. She walked up to the pool, closed her eyes, and put her nose into the freezing water.

As soon as she did this, the water started to swirl and move, unnaturally so. Though Aspenleaf remained motionless, she was seeing multiple signs. To most, these would mean nothing, indecipherable blurs moving by at lightspeed. But Aspenleaf comprehended these signals well, and she knew they spelled death for the Clans, if nothing was done about them.

She finally left the water, opened her eyes, and stepped back.

"I saw a flash of amber, a moving shadow, and crimson."

More chatter, louder than before, started up again, but died down once Aspenleaf gave the cats 'the look'.

"You once said that all of the colors mean some sort of emotion, correct? What do those colors mean?" a green-eyed she-cat asked.

"I am not sure what the amber means," Aspenleaf replied, "however, I do know crimson's emotion."

"What is it?" said the blue-eyed tom..

Aspenleaf paused, took a deep breath, and looked at the night sky.

"Ambition."

Hey look, the shortest chapter known to man!

I can't promise that other chapters will be normal length, but hopefully they are longer than this one lol.

Hoping this story will get updated every week, but knowing me that schedule will probably get thrown out of the window pretty quickly.

Also, keep in mind that I am not very good at writing right now, so this story might be a little rough in some places. Leaving reviews on this story with some writing tips would help a ton, so please do so if you have any!
