This Shouldn't Be Happening

A/N-I decided to try my hand at crack!fic. Oh no.

"Well this is a routine mission; meet the locals, set up trade policies, etc." Cam said to Vala, walking closer to where Daniel was waiting.

"First you have to find out if the planet actually has life on it," Daniel added, flashing Cam a "one thing at a time" look.

Vala hopped slightly on her feet, impatient even for this routine mission to stave off the boredom she claimed to be plagued by. The gate finally finished its dialing sequence and the blue plasma shot out then splashed back settling so it looked like water. She gave a grin at the others and practically skipped up the ramp and through the wormhole. Daniel and Mitchell shook their heads and followed her, followed by Sam and Teal'c.

The world they saw on the other side was bright with sunshine, warm, and carpeted with strange colored flowers. Vala was already a little ways away from the gate and was crouched down on the ground examining what appeared to be a flower with what looked like beads hanging off of it.

"Check in in ten hours," Cam called through his radio just before the gate shut behind them. They looked around for a moment, stuck on the absolute weirdness of the planet.

Cam waved a hand around. "This is just too..."

"Weird." Daniel finished staring at what appeared to be an upside-down tree. Actually more like a forest of them.

"Does the air taste different to anyone other then me?" Vala asked, already through with the flower.

Cam took a deep breath. "No."

"Huh." she said then noticed the tree. "What the hell is that?"

"That's what I'd like to find out," Sam said, excited by the prospect of something new to study, even if it wasn't advanced technology.

"Teal'c! Watcha thinking about?" Cam asked, noticing Teal'c was staring into space.

"I was considering the phenomena believed to have been seen in Colorado Springs last night." Teal'c replied, turning to follow Sam and the others and falling into step with Cameron.

"Really? What is it?"

"They do not know. That is why it is a phenomenon. But I believe your people refer to them as UFO's."

"Little round spaceships with blinking lights that kidnap humans to experiment on them? Yeah that's what..." Cam's voice faded into shocked silence when a small round gray ship zoomed into existence in the air above their heads.

Teal'c raised his usual one eyebrow.

Sam's jaw dropped.

Vala looked utterly confused.

Daniel turned to Cam and snapped, "You were saying?"

Finding his voice, Cam yelped, "That's exactly what I was thinking of."

"Indeed." Teal'c agreed, eyeing the ship dubiously. One moment later the ship began to start flashing a green light at them ominously.

"Now what?" Cam yelled, thoroughly annoyed and more then a little nervous.

"They're probably hunting the trees," Daniel yelled back sarcastically, but the second he said it the upside down tree in the distance rose up on its roots arching to the ground and began to run away from the ship.

No one spoke.

"I knew this planet was weird," Cam exclaimed, speaking for them all.
