Hello everyone. Welcome to my new story. I've had this one planned around the same time as my first story, so I decided to write these side by side. On that note, chapters will come out a little slower than my main story, so don't expect frequent updates. With that out the way, let's hop right in.
"I can't believe this! What are you doing?! Get out of my waaay!" Evil 21 rages as she clashed with her good counterpart.
"Goku, what's the holdup?" 18 questions.
"Thanks everyone! I'm all good to go!" Goku announces.
"21!" 18 calls out to 21.
"I know." She responds. She then charges up a ki blast and aims at her evil counterpart. "Haaaaaah!" She fires.
"What?!" Evil 21 was shocked before being hit. 21 backed up away from the blast zone.
"This way! Hurry!" 18 calls. As 21 finishes backing up. 18 shouted towards Goku. "Now Goku!"
"Okay, here it goes! Spirit Boooomb!" Goku screams as he throws the Spirit Bomb at Evil 21.
She, however, is filled with anger and determination. "You can't...ever stop meeee!" Evil 21 raged as she held her hands out to stop the Spirit Bomb.
"Gggghh...!" Goku grunts, feeling the Spirit Bomb halt.
"Ugh! I can't believe that wasn't enough?!" 17 cries.
"You gotta be kidding me..." Vegeta mutters.
"But...we've used up all our power!" Krillin panics.
"Goku! It's up to you!" Piccolo calls.
"Dammit..." 18 muttered. 21 on the other hand looks like she's contemplating something. She then turns to Android 18.
"18...Please take care of the other soul inside of me...I owe him a great deal." 21 requested.
"Huh?" 18 cries in shock. Instead of responding, 21 holds her hands together and proceeds to transfer the soul from her to 18.
"Thank you...and goodbye." She then charges towards her evil counterpart.
"21?!" 18 called out. Unfortunately, 21's mind was made up. She continues charging under the Spirit Bomb and proceeds to aim at her evil counterpart.
Evil 21 is shocked to see this. "You can't!" She cries as her good counterpart reaches for her.
Her plea was in vain, however, as 21 tackled her. "We're going to disappear together!"
"21!" 18 cried out as the Spirit Bomb hit the pair of 21's.
'Goodbye, everyone.' 21 thought as the Spirit Bomb collided with her. 'I only wish I could have spent more time with you all.' And then, everything turns white.
"Hrrgh." 21 groans as she begins to stir awake. "So exhausted." she mumbles softly. She then opens her eyes and looks up to a dark sky. She leans up from her position on the floor as she regains consciousness. She then widens her eyes in shock as she looks at her body. "Wha?" She then starts touching herself, looking around it, from her face to her chest to her tail. She then looks up and searching for a halo above her. She doesn't find it.
"I'm...alive?" She asks. She stands up and starts to fully take in her surroundings before physically grimacing. "Or maybe I'm in hell." Around her was nothing but ruin. Rubble, burnt trees and ash, craters and unstable cliffs. "Never thought hell would look like a forest." She jokes to herself. "Or a burnt, semi-annihilated, empty forest." It was true. The forest was mostly gone, with any wildlife still existing being burnt. And it was completely empty of any creatures... Hold on?
"Wait a minute." She ponders. "If I'm in hell, shouldn't there be more, you know, people?" 21 wonders. "I know the universe is big, and not many people are good. There should be a lot more evil souls around here." She continues to ponder. "If I'm not in hell, then where am I?" She sits on this for a minute before coming up blank. She shakes her head in disappointment. "Well, sitting here isn't going to get me answers. I might as well look around and see if I find something. Or someone." She lifts herself off the ground and takes to the skies.
She looks as she travels around for a while, and was surprised by what she saw. Wherever she went, there was only a remnant of what was suppose to be there. Mountains, cities, forest, everything was destroyed. Everyplace looked completely uninhabitable, with a complete absence of life. As if Armageddon happened to...where ever she was, leaving only destruction in it's path. But all that wasn't the most worrisome part to her.
"This destruction, it still looks pretty recent. Like a few days." And it was true. In certain places, fires were still raging. Rubble was still crumbling. And while many areas were destroyed, they were still recognizable from what they were supposed to be, instead of being decayed or worn. "That means whatever, or whoever caused it could still be around." she continued analyzing. That is, until she hits a familiar site, and it shocks her to her core.
"No, this can't be." She utters out. Before her is undoubtably West City, except it is completely destroyed and abandoned. Countless destroyed buildings, burning streets, and not a single person to be found. 21 continues looking around with a bleeding heart, finding nothing but destruction and ruin in her path. Until she stops upon seeing a familiar building. Capsule Corp, the home of one of the smartest and one of the strongest people she knows, in ruins. She flies towards the building, tears creeping in her. "What happened here?" She cries as she lands in front of the building. She goes inside and explores the ruined building, seeing nothing but a broken home. Destroyed rooms and walls, broken machines, even the family rooms seem empty and lifeless and...
"Hold on," 21 pauses her search. "Something isn't right." She scours the building one more time and sure enough she finds out what's wrong. "The layout is different."
Sure enough, it was. Certain rooms like the kids and gravity rooms were not there. Many of the Brief's tech were not there. Even extra rooms like the storage room for Bulma's number of vehicles were non-existent. Though the biggest change was when 21 stumbled upon a hidden hatch that opened up a secret room. "What's this?" She wondered. Entering the room, it led down below the building. When she reached the bottom, she realized a hidden research lab, with quite a few projects that the current Bulma hasn't worked on. And yet, when she laid eyes on one of them, she froze. She froze because she recognizes what it is.
"No." 21 utters in shock. "This, this shouldn't be possible." Yet she couldn't deny it. She couldn't deny the blueprints for the project that shouldn't exist. The Time Machine. The very one that the Trunks from an alternate future used to create the current timeline. The one Cell travelled back in to absorb the Androids 17 and 18 of the past. The one that wasn't needed in her time. Unless...
"I'm...in an alternate timeline." 21 concludes. "And not just any timeline. This...this is the one the Trunks from the future hails from." She slowly comes to erms with her new reality. "But..." she trails off. She flies back up above ground and looks onwards. "I thought Trunks defeated the androids in this time. And without them, he should have been strong enough to beat Cell. It's been years since then. Humanity should be restored." She lands on the ground and simply stares off. "What happened? What could have caused all this. Was it Majin Buu? Without Gohan or Goku, that fight would have been difficult." She wonders, before elimanating the possibility. "No, if that was the case the planet would be gone, not left in ruins. Same if Beerus woke up and came here. And without the Dragon Balls, Frieza would never be resurrected. And the other universes would have no reason to come to this universe let alone Earth. So that means..." She comes to a terrifying conclusion. "This is a whole new threat. One that even the current Goku and Vegeta never went up against. The question is what?" She begins to speculate. "Assuming Babidi did come here, that means Trunks must have prevented Majin Buu's awakening, which means he should be strong enough to beat Babidi and Dabura, or he got his potential unlocked from the Grand Elder Kai and defeated Majin Buu on his own. Even if it's the first one, that means he should have at least been as strong as Super Saiyan 2 Gohan was back when he fought Cell. We exclude Beerus and Frieza, there shouldn't be many beings in this universe that could compete with that level of power. Plus, without the Dragon Balls or Saiyans, I can't think of a motivation for coming here. And to-" Her speculation was interrupted when she felt a strange presence suddenly appear. She quickly located it and found it directly above Capsule Corp. A large, pinkish portal appeared directly above the building.
Thinking this could possibly the cause of this destruction, 21 quickly got into stance and prepared to fight whatever came out. However, no amount of preparation could have prepared her for what she saw. Coming out of the portal was someone she easily recognized, and it baffled her mind. Someone who looked completely different, yet exactly the same. Someone who felt just a powerful as the one she knew. Someone who should not be alive in this world.
"Goku?!" 21 mindlessly said. It seemed she was loud enough as the newcomer had a brief look of surprise before looking in her direction, looking straight at her.
"Oh, what is this?" Goku? spoke, turning to completely face 21. "I've don't think I've seen you before." Goku? evaluates his opponent. "Although, you bear a striking resemblance to Majin Buu. Yet both look and feel too different from him. Plus," he forms a sinister grin that triggers 21's nerves. "Earlier you called me Goku. A name that, unless you're an ancient woman, no one in this timeline should know."
Goku?'s phrasing was caught by 21. "This timeline?! That means...you're not this from..." Her face goes from shock to anger. "I haven't heard of you. You're from the other timeline, someone who most likely hasn't appeared yet, and traveled here through some unknown means." She quickly deducts. "Though I gotta ask, why do you look like Goku? Even if I couldn't sense you're energy, it's obvious you're not him."
"Goku" chuckled. "My reasons do not matter to a mortal such as yourself." He spoke as if he was above everyone. "Though as for who I am, the mortals here have taken to calling me Goku Black, and I've got to say I've grown quite fond of the name. I am here to seek justice on this forsaken world. And speaking of which." He then glares at 21. "The real issue here is that you have broken a law even the gods themselves are forbidden breaking. And for that," He then charges at 21. "You must be punished for your actions!"
21 gets in a fighting stance. Goku Black throws out a punch. 21 blocks it, but couldn't stop herself from being pushed back by the blow. Black proceeds to launch a volley of ki blast towards her. 21 sees this and dodges them by flying, but Goku Black is relentless. After a while, 21 turns to face him and brings her hands up to her head.
"Solar Flare!" She calls out. A bright light emitted from her which caused Goku Black to stop attacking in order to cover his eyes. Taking the opportunity, 21 charges at him. Goku Black recovers in time to see her hand about to swipe at him. He grabs it, so 21 quickly attacks with her other hand, but he grabs that too. Goku Black smirks, but then looks confused when 21 smirks back. He then feels something coil around his leg. He looks down in shock to see a pink tail around his leg. 21 breaks breaks free of his grip and starts running, with Goku Black being dragged through around through the ground. After a while, she launches herself in the air with Black, before swinging around and letting go of him, throwing him to the ground. She then throws a volley of ki blasts in his direction. Goku Black quickly gets up and blocks the barrage. He then powers up to create a shockwave before to interrupt her. He flies above 21 and creates a large ball of ki and throwing it at 21. 21 sees this and dodges the attack, but still looks at the impact of the blast as hit hits the ground. The ki ball explodes before engulfing the ruined city in flames. 21 looks on in horror of the destruction of the one attack.
"Oh kami," she gasps, raising her hands to her mouth. "This is horrible."
"Horrible," she hears Black say. She turns to him and sees him looking down at the scene with a smirk, his arms spread out as if he were being praised. "No, beautiful is what it is. The karmic justice of those who crave destruction now getting it in full."
21 faced him and growled, her eyes filled with rage. "Justice? This isn't justice. It's carnage. And I swear, I'm gonna make you pay!" She charges at him at full speed. Goku Black simply smiles. As 21 goes in to attack, he puts up his hand and emits a small barrier. When 21 runs into it, it pushes her back. Goku black follows up on this, forming a ki blade in his right hand. As he goes in to slash 21, 21 brings up her own ki blade and blocks the attack. They both eventually back off each other before clashing again, though Goku Black is more on the offensive and 21 is being pushed back. At least until she catches him off guard by extending her blade, forcing him back while blocking. Thinking she had the advantage, she goes in again to charge, but Goku Black has surprises of his own. As 21 was about to attack, he lifts his blade and slashes towards her, creating a sword beam that slashed towards her. 21 could not react in time and got slashed across her chest.
"Aah!" 21 cried. Seeing the opening, Goku Black deactivated his ki blade and charged up his Black Kamehameha. Thankfully, 21's regeneration allows her to recover in time to see the attack and charges up her own Kamehameha. The two release their attacks and the beams collide. 21 is seen visibly struggling during the clash, trying to hold out. Goku Black, however, is visibly calmer with a grin on his face. After a few seconds, Goku Black yells out, "Ha!" and puts more energy into his beam. This is enough to push 21's beam back until it eventually breaks through it and collides with her. He tries holding the beam, but it still pushes her back.
Goku Black smirks as he lets out more energy. "HAA!" he yells. The beam gains more energy and pushes 21 back more. 21 cannot hold on any longer and the beam engulfs her.
"Aaaahh!" She screams as she falls. The beam collides with the ground creating a big explosion. When the dust clears, 21 is lying on her back, with wounds all over her body. Her body is slowly healing, but she barely the strength to get up.
"Hehehe," Goku Black chuckles. "So it seems you're at the end of your rope. Well then," He charges up a ball of ki in his hand and aims it at 21. "I guess it's time to put you out of your misery." 21 posts herself on her elbows, glaring at him defiantly from the ground.
Goku black smirks. "Goodbye."
"HAAAAA!" A new voice screamed. From the behind, a yellow beam was headed toward Goku Black. He dodges it, cancelling his attack in the process. Both Goku Black and 21 looked behind him too see the new arrival.
Standing, or rather flying, there was a tall man dressed in a blue shirt with an orange gi over it, with blue shoes and armbands. He has short, black hair that curls downwards and has a scar across his left eye. But his most notable feature was his missing left arm.
"Oh." The Goku Black calls out, amused. "Another mortal who seeks retribution?."
The man glares at him. "I don't know who you are or why you look like my father, but I know you're not him." He begins to power up. "And you better leave her alone."
"Hehehe." Goku Black chuckles. "If you want to die with her so badly, then go ahead," he makes a coming motion with his hand. "Face your judgement."
"Haaa!" The man's energy spikes as he charges at the Goku Black, who gladly charges back. The two collide with their fists, creating shockwaves from the blow.
Android 21 finds herself trapped in a new world and is overwhelmed by a new threat. But luckily a mysterious yet familiar man has shown up to help her. Who is this stranger? Can they defeat the menace that is Goku Black? Is there a way for her to go back home? Find out next time on Dragon Ball Future.
And cut. That's the first chapter. This is a premise I had in mind for a while, so I hope I did a good representation. I like 21, and I feel she is forced to be depicted as weaker than she could be because she's a game only character and cause her evil self had to be stronger. She has so much potential and probably has the single most widest arsenal and variety of abilities than any other Dragon Ball character (excluding XV avatars) so I'm going to try to make use of that. As for why 21 couldn't do better against Goku Black this early, it's because she's tired. Her regeneration is tied to her biology, not her stamina. So her waking up happened not even hours after the events of DBFZ, and she had just enough energy to wake up and not on a full tank. And unlike the other androids, Bio-Androids like Cell and 21 are shown to not have infinite stamina due to being biological organisms, not mechanical, so they can get tired. As for Future Gohan, to this day he is still one of my favorite Dragon Ball characters, so I'm bringing him back and hopefully better than ever.
