NUMB3RS
First Day of School
A/N: I apologize for the lack of updates on "Flowers in a Jar," but don't worry. They're coming! This idea came to me in math class.
Copyright: I don't own CBS, which means I don't own NUMB3RS, which means I don't own Charlie. Darn!
"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!"
Margaret Eppes knew that voice anywhere. Her curly-haired, pre-pubescent son was on his way home from his first day of junior year of high school. Charlie Eppes burst through the door, his older brother, Don, trudging behind him. The smell of freshly-made chocolate chip cookies and unlaundered baseball uniforms lingered in the air, as Bob James music played in the background.
"Hi, boys!" she said. "How was your first day of school?"
"It was lots of fun," Charlie said, breaking a cookie in half.
"Oh, yeah," Don said, "sooo much fun. I can hardly contain my joy."
"Donnie's in my history class, my English class, and my science class!" proclaimed Charlie.
"Isn't that nice?" Margaret commented.
"Chris and Evan are in my gym class," Don added. "They were on my baseball team this summer."
"I remember them," Margaret said. "Charlie, what math did Mr. Robinson put you in?"
"Calculus AB," Charlie said proudly.
"Aren't you special," Don said sarcastically, disgruntled that he was only in geometry.
"Donald," Margaret said, "that wasn't very nice."
"Well, he's a little calculator with hair."
Charlie laughed. "And you're a star baseball player."
"Thanks, Chuck," Don said.
"Hey, I told you I don't wanna be called Chuck."
"Well, I don't want to be called Donald."
The End
