Too Little, Too Late
Lavender/Seamus 3

"Lavender, I love you." Seamus said.
Lavender took a deep breath.
She had heard this before, it didn't seem right, or real.

"Luv, I've changed, it's not the same as before, I'm a different guy." He said, not meeting her eyes.
"Seamus, you can say that, but how do I know that you're being serious, how do I know you've changed and that you're not the same guy who doesn't know how to treat a girl right, and trades them off as you get sick of them." She exclaimed.
"I swear Lav, I'm not the same!" he begged.
Lavender pursed her lips and crossed her arms.
"Merlin, Lavender, don't cry!" he said.
She looked into his hazel eyes.
A hint of mischief and deception was hidden behind the tint of greenish-brown.
"I don't know what to say." She said, "I'm a total loss of words, the only thing I can think of is, tell me what you really want Seamus, me or my heart."

His face dropped a bit, and Lavender noticed.
"I want your heart baby, not just you." He said, wrapping his arm around her waist.
She knew by his voice that he was lying.
"Seamus, you had a chance and you know what you did, huh, do you remember?" she hissed.
"I told you the day you found out about that, that I was sorry." He exclaimed.
xOx
"Seamus, you know what, I'm going to tell you now, that you are too late!" she said.
"What?" he said, "How, you don't even have a boyfriend!"
"It just is." She said, turning herself from facing him.
xOx
"Lav, you don't know what you mean to me, I dream about you every night, I love you." Seamus said.
"You don't love me Seamus, you like following after me and chasing me, and flirting, not me, not my heart and soul." She said, placing her hands on her hips.
xOx
"What about last time Lavender, you loved me and the feeling was mutual." He begged, "Don't you remember?"
"I remember what happened quite nicely." She smirked, "You said you loved me, you kissed me in the rain, you told me that you were never going to leave me, but you know what you did, do you, you went off and started snogging and probably going even farther with that crazy Loony Lovegood!"
"I told you!" Seamus said, his voice beginning to rise, "For the last bloody time I said I was sorry, and I meant it!"
"Yeah right, you know what, it is so sad that now, after you broke my heart, and Lovegood broke yours that you want to talk it out instead of when it happened!" she exclaimed.
xOx
Lavender was beginning to sob.
She loved Seamus, but she knew he didn't truly love her back.
"Seamus, you've got some serious problems, and I don't know how to help you, so don't ask me, because your problem, you need to deal out yourself." She cried.
"I HAVE PROBLEMS!" he hissed, his face getting redder by every word.
His yelling made everything worse for her; she finally broke down and fell to the floor in tears.
"What?" he said.
"Y-You, You, I can't believe you can live with yourself." She sobbed, "You've done this to me, and you totally aught to be ashamed."
xOx
"I still don't understand what's wrong with me, Lavender?" he said, dumbfounded.
"Seamus, if you would give up your awful ways, I could and would love you with every part of me, and I wouldn't regret it." She cried, "If you would stop playing with my heart, I would love you and not feel wrong for doing so."
"Baby, I don't understand." He said, kneeling down to where she was sitting on her knees.
He tilted her chin up to facing him.
"I truly do love you Lavender." He said.
His voice still didn't ring the full truth.
"I'm sorry Seamus," she said, standing up and brushing off her skirt, "Your too little, too late."
