My friend and I are taking up a challenge of drabbles (see words on my profile) they will be done separately because they are not meant to be linked (and it is a sneaky way of getting Clorith numbers up lol) and hopefully will range through different situations and genres as well as length. Some will be short and others will be long depending on how imaginative I am feeling lol!
Okay, enjoy!
Drabble #1: Snow
Summary: Nibelheim had never had proper snow before... But there was always a first for everything…

"Cloud, wake up!"
Instead of listening to the excited feminine voice, the blonde just groaned and pulled the covers over his head. He was tired and cold and was not in the mood to look around his hometown, still confused as to why it still existed instead of in ashes as it should have been.
"Cloud!" the voice insisted, climbing onto the bed, and pulling determinedly at the covers, succeeding in revealing his spiky blonde hair.
"Cloud, it's snowing!"
"What?" he replied, as he opened his eyes and sat on his elbows. The light from the window was still too bright for him, causing him to shield his eyes as he looked up into the sparkling green eyes of Aerith who was clasping her hands together with excitement. He blinked a few times, stifling a yawn as he turned to the window, shocked to see that she was right.
Of course, there had been snow in Nibelheim before but it was always that pathetic fall that lasted an average of five minutes and barely covered the ground. The snow he could see fall was massive, large flakes drifting heavily towards the ground. Cloud felt his cold exterior melt slightly at the scene and slowly lifted himself out of the bed and towards the window. Aerith followed suit, taking to standing next to him, a position she had been taking a lot recently.
"It's like a Christmas card isn't it?" she commented, glancing around at all the rooftops that were blanketed in snow. Cloud looked around too, giving a small nod in reply to her question.
"It's beautiful," she continued. "Strange too,"
"Strange?" the blonde repeated, his attention drawn away from the scene and back to her for a second. The flower girl nodded, her eyes still watching the snow falling.
"It's strange how something cold can be so beautiful and has such an effect on everyone. Normally, people see cold as dangerous or something to avoid but with snow, they don't."
Cloud did not answer; he did not really understand how he could. He continued to watch her though, it was something he had began to do a lot recently, but he could not understand why.
"Well, I'm going to see about breakfast. We'll need something warm if we're travelling in this weather," the brunette chirped suddenly, giving a small smile. He looked over his shoulder, surprised to see she was already at the door. Then, he found his mouth twitching up into a returning smile. He never smiled, at least not a proper smile. But, Nibelheim had never had a proper snowfall either. He guessed, there really was a first time for everything.
