Taking place only one week after the incident at the 4*TOWN town concert. Miriam starts noticing extreme thirst and low appetite. She thinks she's fine until she passes out in the middle of math class and wakes up in the hospital and hears the news that'll change her life forever.

19. Chapter 19

Tobias POV

"Tobias I need you to finish Miriam's Mac and Cheese" "Sarah just called and her heater has broken" "Take care of Miriam and grandma and grandpa can help with the other kids." My mom said, I nodded in agreement. Mom immediately left to help her friend Sarah fix her heater. I walked over to the stove and poured the noodles into the pot and put a lid on it. I waited for the Mac and Cheese to cook, stirring it with the ladle every 3 minutes. When the pasta was tender I put in the Milk, Cheese Powder, and Butter. Stirred it in and dished it into a bowl. I grabbed some water for her to sip on and put it on a tray. I carried the tray up to my mom's room where she was resting and watching tv. "Here you go Miri '' I said, laying it gently in her lap. "Thanks, Tobias' ' She replied weakly. I sat in the chair in the room as she ate. "I'm not hungry anymore Tobias' ' She stated. "Ok Do you feel ok?" I asked. She shook her head. "I feel like I might get sick." She whined. I immediately ran to grab a bucket but it was too late Miriam had thrown up all over herself, Blanket, Miracle, and Fuzzy. Miriam was upset and embarrassed and started to cry. "It's ok Miriam I'll get you cleaned up. I quickly called for grandma to shower her and change her Pajamas. Grandma was great and helped clean up Miriam. I went and cleaned her Blanket, clothes, and Fuzzy in the wash.

After they were done I took them over to Miriam who was now resting in her room and watching a skateboarding competition. "Here you go," I said. Thanks, Big brother you're the best" She smiled. I rubbed her cheek and watched the Competition with her. I wish I could do that again. I always wanted to be a professional skateboarder and now my chance is ruined forever. she sighed. Now I'm in a wheelchair for the rest of my life because of a stupid accident because of a stupid boy I trusted. A tear slid down her cheek. "Hey don't worry," I said "You'll find something new you like," I explained. She nodded. "Besides, all that matters is that you're still here with us" I stated. Miriam's face lit up. Thanks, Tobias, you're a reminder of why we're so close." She replied. "Aww I love you much kiddo" I hugged her. All of a sudden the doorbell rang. DING DONG. "Let me go get that, Miri stay here and rest. I'll be right back." I said as I was leaving the room. I opened the door and couldn't believe who it was.
