Loonatics: United
Compromised system
Episode 159: Low tides
Vale had exited to the top of the monorail through the hatch, having left it open and poking his head to the inside as the beast was recovering from a previous hit given by Randy. "Now! Punch him as hard as you can!"
Randy rushed all the way back to the last wagon of the monorail, then he rushed towards the monster again, and when he approached him, Randy backed his arm and clenched fist with his gaze focused on the beast's lower jaw, which he punched strongly, upwards, swinging vertically towards the open hatch, successfully making the beast fly up and land on the top of the monorail, groaning loudly by the pain. "Heck yeah, man!" Vale approached the monster and before he could try to move him and throw him off the moving machine, the beast grasped his foot and threw him instead. As he fell, seeing the far sky and the top of the skyscrapers getting further away from his sight, he rapidly took his hoverboard and got on it right before he could collide with a bridge.
"Vale!" Randy had gotten on top of the monorail. "Vale!" He yelled with more anguish.
"Relax, boy." Vale arrived on his hoverboard, flying directly towards the monster. "You better call your dentist after this!" Vale hit the monster's lower jaw with his hoverboard, making it detach from the skull.
"Oof." Randy cringed and turned his gaze away after seeing that event.
The beast fell from the top and Vale and Randy lost sight of him. Vale got off his hoverboard and put it on his back again. He let out a spontaneous chuckle of celebration. "Yeah! Well done man!" Vale approached Randy and gave him an energetic high five. "Woah that was intense, I'll have to clean my hoverboard later." Suddenly, two loud roars were heard from the inside. "Uhm…did you hear something?"
Slam had recovered, he was brawling with the beast intensely as Edison helped with a couple of kicks and punches here and there. Slam punched the beast strongly on what remained of his face, which was bleeding continuously, of course. The beast hit a broken window after that punch, getting his head and face even more damaged, getting pieces of broken glass in his eyes. Slam growled and then jumped out the window, holding only from the spiky edge of it, then he grasped the beast's neck with his free hand and as he snarled intensely, Slam took the monster out of the monorail as he strangulated him tightly with his hand, looking into his eyes with fury, getting his arm fully covered in the blood that flowed from the beast's face.
"Do it now, Slam!" Vale exclaimed, having gotten in the monorail, standing before the window along with Edison and Randy.
Slam let out a rageful snarl as he let go off the beast's neck, making the tiger fall right on the metallic beam of the monorail, breaking into pieces, lots of blood and flesh splashed on the vehicle's walls, as well as on Slam's suit.
"Okay, that worked." Vale said, hiding the disgust he felt for the scene he had just witnessed.
"Come on, big guy…" Edison gasped as he helped Slam get back in the monorail. Slam was breathing in and out continuously, truly exhausted.
"Well, there's no time to lose." Vale looked at Randy and Edison. "Let's get out of here and meet with the others."
"You alright, Slam?" Randy asked hesitantly, noticing the great exhaustion on his comrade.
Slam let out a quiet growl, saying he was just fine.
"I don't buy that." Vale said as they walked towards the hatch. "You fly to the refuge, big guy, you don't look good."
"I'll guide him there." Randy proposed.
Slam grunted with refusal, stating he was doing perfectly, then he groaned and rubbed his aching arm.
"You'll go with Randy, end of discussion." Vale told Slam. "Then you meet with us." He switched his gaze to Randy.
"Mhm." Randy nodded.
Slam grunted saying he didn't take orders from him, getting on Vale's way and standing firm before him, looking at him with a frown, with a renewed vigor.
Vale stood silent for moment, serious, as firm as his comrade. "As you wish." He said coldly and walked by him to finally exit the monorail.
Ace, Lexi and Duck were now battling the deer outside of the power house, on a partially dry area located just before the plant's tail race, surrounded by water as if it were an island. "The deer roared as he punched Ace right on the snout, making him fly and land on the hard rocky ground. "Ngh…" Ace groaned as he struggled to get up. "Damn…"
"You mess with one of us…" Ace teleported to the beast's shoulders, sitting on them as he cooked an orb and started to burn his face with it. "…you mess with all of us!" The monster screeched loudly while trying to get Duck off him, managing to hold him and then throwing him as well with great strength. Duck teleported before he could fall into the tail race, appearing on the same area.
Lexi flew towards the monster with her jetpack and hovered right over him, taking advantage of the fact that the monstrous deer was rubbing his eyes and face by the great pain he felt after Duck's attack. "Don't you wanna keep playing?" Lexi started to shoot her brain blast right at the beast's head, making him scream loudly, the deer jumped highly to try to get her, but she evaded him, he kept trying to do so as she shot her power at him, weakening and hurting him greatly.
On the meantime, Rev was attending Akinyi in the refuge, just checking her vital signs, having laid her down in a corner of the room, the raccoon mother was just watching. "Thank God I found this medical kit laying around." He said as he checked her with the stethoscope. "Hmm, heart's fine…her lungs as well…" Rev put the chest piece of the stethoscope on her belly, taking a moment to listen. "Mhm." He nodded briefly as he took off the medical device and put it in the box where he had found it. "She'll be fine…it seems." Rev looked at her face with doubt, briefly placing a hand on her forehead. "She's just like sleeping, a…very deep sleep. Unconscious, that's the precise term."
"Oh, dear…I hope she awakes soon." The mother raccoon said empathetically, her children were sleeping in her arms, her husband was also asleep, resting his head on her shoulder.
Rev sighed. "I hope so too." He got onto his feet and looked at the mother with an apologetic look. "My team probably needs me, I have to leave you alone again. Sorry."
"We understand, don't you worry." The mother smiled at him.
"Okay…oh but I'll be back soon, I promise!" Rev left rapidly with his super speed, leaving his red, fading trace behind.
