101: Date With The Cat [01]
—
Peter walked into the house, changed his clothes, freshened up, and jumped on the couch, slumping down while sighing. He wasn't exhausted per se, but whatever.
Peter stood up, and opened a portal to his research facility. It was time to disappear from the world and work for the remaining days before finally going on a date with Felicia.
The first thing he did when entering the lab was looking at what had been done so far. A few things were still in progress; however, most of it was finished. Peter looked over each item one by one as if examining them like they would be graded.
Then, he looked away from them and simply turned his PC on. 'Let's finish the AI, shall we?'
He spent the next hours working on it, and later in the evening, made some time in his schedule to go spend time with May before coming and picking up work where he'd left it.
All in all, it took Peter two days to make the AI somewhat workable. It wasn't complete, far from it. But now that It could work, all the work was dumped on it. Self-learning was the AI's thing, not his. It'd improve itself.
Peter had made sure to add additional lines that it couldn't disobey in the slightest.
Never so anything significant without asking him. Never do anything against him or any human with his consent. Be his slave. And so much blah blah like that.
It didn't matter anyway because the only person who would ever have access to this AI would be himself. So no worries about anyone else getting their hands on it. Not even May or his lovers, now or in the future.
Yeah, a partial control, sure, but nothing even nearing full control. That'd be stupid.
So yeah. The AI worked. Now, he just needed to test it out.
Meaning, test how it'd do with all the self-learning. Peter input the internet and access to the libraries' data all around the world. Say, philosophical shit and all that.
He'd made sure it wouldn't turn out like the whole Ultron fiasco by giving it enough freedom to learn.
But there was a limit, obviously. If something went wrong, Peter would know immediately.
Anyway, the next thing he did was work on the arc reactor; now that he had the conductor and everything else, it didn't take long for the arc reactor to work.
Then he made a robot. A robot that the AI would control, it would make things for him since it'd be under the AI's control. Which meant less work for him.
Mark Zuckerberg would be able to self-replicate. So that was that.
It took him nearly all his time focused on all these things to make some progress. Peter really wished he could clone himself. But meh, that'd be too boring.
Only a day was left.
For his date with Felicia, of course.
After spending the rest of his night working, Peter woke up early to shower and get ready. He also wanted to check if his plans had gone through properly.
As expected, they had. The AI was learning, adapting, and growing. At an alarming rate no less. Peter had to repeatedly confirm that he'd really put restrictions on its behavior.
He had, so that was awesome.
Anyways, it seemed that he didn't have enough processing power, so he planned to buy a lot of stuff and make a supercomputer that could actually handle all this processing.
But all of that was for later.
He had a date tomorrow, 6 pm. With Felicia. And Peter would be damned if he didn't reserve some expensive shit and didn't prepare for the date to make it as memorable as possible.
So, he did just that.
He got home, and picked May up before beelining at a mall. To buy some expensive clothes, of course. Not just expensive, money didn't always have the best of things. He bought the things that suited him, and May was a big help with that.
They had lunch together, then went back home. Peter dropped her off, and went outside to finalize some documents.
Documents of the house he'd decided to buy, of course.
In the end, he hadn't been able to show it to Gwen, but oh well, she'd find out about it later anyway.
Oh, talking about Gwen; there had been a talk in town. Talk about a girl Spider. People were calling her a Spider-Girl.
Wow, that was news.
Peter chuckled.
Know her, he would bet all his money that she wanted to 'vent' a little after seeing him act so bastardy with another woman just a week or so after their breakup. And she found no other way to vent than beat up criminals.
How cute.
Well, this was kind of necessary for her as well, she'd learn to protect herself in the field since she couldn't rely on him to protect her all the time.
Peter did one thing after returning to his lab for the night.
He sent a Mark Zuckerberg-02 after her. It would monitor her from a distance, always, and notify him if she ever got in danger. Danger she couldn't handle.
This was a breach of privacy, but like Peter ever gave a shit about rules anyway.
Her safety came first.
Using his own blood, the spider that bit Gwen, and some other stuff, Peter had made it so that Mark Zuckerberg-02 wouldn't be detected by her spider-sense.
Peter checked his other stuff as well; his gaming company was going awesome, coming out with banger after banger. He wasn't doing the work anymore, of course. All Peter did was give ideas. Ned and another dude were in charge, and there were many employees working their asses of to make the games.
Of course, they got paid well.
Other than that, Peter had also hired a manager. She was competent enough, so there was no need for him to interfere much other than looking and signing. Of course, after reading carefully.
Peter was also thinking of going into the entertainment industry more, just for the fun, of course, he would make enough money without it anyway.
Anyways, Peter worked some more, and left for his date when the time came, of course, he made sure to get ready and tidy himself up for a date.
Felicia was waiting for Peter for a while now, ready and all that. He'd insisted she stays home. That he'll pick her up.
She didn't want that.
Even though she loved her mother, she was a bitch sometimes. In fact, most of the time.
But she knew that she was nice, and Peter would like her, so she agreed.
And that was why she was here right now. Waiting.
It was strange really... Why would he want to meet her mother? Couldn't it wait till to announce their relationship a bit more? Heck, they weren't even dating!
Peter arrived, though a bit late.
He was on a... He was on a fucking motorcycle.
No kidding. One of those damn expensive ones. Felicia had never seen one before. They were so rare that she'd only heard about them.
"Hey, Felicia." He smiles at her. "Thanks for waiting." He slapped the bike. "Had to finalize things for this bad boy."
He parked the bike and walked to Felicia.
"You're welcome, Peter," she smiled. "I know how busy you are, with your company and stuff, since you rarely come to school. They would've dumped your ass if you didn't have a big company stamp on your head. It increases their prestige. I have to say though, now that the topic came up, your company kinda came out of nowhere."
He gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"I know right?" He said, "Wait here, I need to talk to your mom about something." Saying, he walked into her house.
Felicia, on the other hand, was left caressing her cheek.
...Did he just… kiss her?
She stood there, frozen in her spot, while Peter did whatever he'd come here for and then returned to her, grabbing her hand before guiding her to his bike.
"Ready?" He asked, smiling at her again.
Felicia smiled, grabbing him tightly by the waist as he grabbed the side of his bike.
"Yes," She said, placing her other hand on his chest. "Let us ride."
He nodded, putting his helmet on, then drove off.
Well, why not flex his money a bit now that he was a little rich? What would it even do gathering dust in his bank?
He took the same road he usually took, heading towards downtown, and then, right into the heart of New York City.
Felicia couldn't hide her smile. She felt like she was on a rollercoaster, and she was going to scream like hell.
The feeling was incredible.
Her eyes were closed as she held onto Peter tighter, squeezing him a bit.
They stopped a moment, and she opened her eyes slowly, watching the cityscape pass by them.
"So, where are we going?" She asked, breaking the silence. "I mean, I thought we were going to a restaurant or something..."
"We are, of course." Peter grinned, though it was a different matter she couldn't see it. "But before that, I'm gonna take you somewhere special."
"What do you mean?" Felicia asked, a little curious.
"Secret." He replied.
"Ah haaa!" Felicia laughed. "So, you don't trust me enough to tell me." She pinched him playfully.
Peter shook his head, not answering that question.
"Fine then, I'll just figure it out myself." Felicia pouted. "I'm not stupid."
