Alright everyone it's now the middle of the semester so you know what that means," Altair said. All the RAs were in his room for their weekly meeting. They were all sitting on his couch and armchair.
"What does that mean," Conner asked concerned. He was not a fan of dealing with crazy shit.
Malik then sighed "It means dealing with roommate conflicts. They all finally get sick of one another since they have been with each other for three-fourths of the school year."
"Yeah, last year I had one guy drink all his roommate's soft drinks and the roommate then peed on his clothes" Desmond shuddered. That was almost his breaking point.
Conner then turned three shades paler "wait for real"
"Stop scaring him" Ezio spoke up "It doesn't happen often I never dealt with anything" Ezio was beyond grateful for that. But he did omit he almost killed his roommate Vieri during his freshmen year and the RA had to intervene.
Altair then spoke "Okay anyways just remember if residents on your floor fight with their roommates there are several things we can do. First, we can make them fill out a roommate agreement form" (Some resident's hall does this. It's a form setting rules for each other and all that.) "We also can sit down and talk with the roommates fighting. Just remember we need to separate them" Altair made sure if he dealt with roommate issues that both roommates could tell their side of the story separably because one year someone did not do that and two residents fought one another. "Also feel free to ask me to help or another RA. It's good to have multiple points on issues."
Conner then raised his hand "Okay question what if you're friends with them." Conner was friends with everyone pretty much in the building.
"Great question what we recommend is using another RA who is not as familiar to them," Altair answered. "If not, you need to not be biased. I know it's hard especially since we have a lot of Brotherhood members living here"
Conner then nodded and wrote some of the tips down. Malik then spoke up "Also we don't deal with a lot of Templars thankfully so don't worry too much about that"
"Good to know" Conner sighed in relief.
"You'll be fine" Desmond assured him "If I can survive what I have this will be nothing"
"Anway's that's it for housing" Altair wrapped up "How is everyone doing?"
"I'm great!" Ezio smiled "I'm going on a date with Sofia Sartor" He was excited. After Valentine's and drunk texting Christina he knew he needed to move on.
"That's exciting," Desmond said "I'm good just trying to survive classes"
"Same" Malik added "So Conner are you ready for Aveline's play?" he looked over at Conner.
"Yeah, I'm excited it's weird how I'm the main character but Aspasia is nice for the most part" Conner liked it so far. Still, though it felt weird being around Aveline.
"I'm so excited to see it!" Desmond exclaimed "it will be so cool to see my friends on stage"
"Yeah, same" Altair agreed. He was excited to see Malik act. As a surprise Altair got Kadar a plane ticket to come and watch. After the play, Kadar would surprise him which made Altair so excited. The rest of the night everyone talked about their plans for the week and what they were up to.
It was getting old and that was Elise and Arno always being together. It was driving the girls insane. It wasn't just that Arno was always in the dorm. It was that they had so much PDA everywhere. The girls also missed just having Elise and girl time.
"I'm telling you Arno is getting on my nerves," Aveline said one night as she was making Evie and Maria dinner.
Maria nodded from the kitchen table "I know right I actually miss Elise"
"Same" Evie agreed as she grabbed bowls and put them out "Are they on another date," Evie noticed she barely ever saw Elise anymore.
Maria grabbed her phone "hang on let me look on Instagram and snap" she pulled up Elise and Arno's profiles and saw they were at some restaurant having dinner for what felt like the millionth night in a row. "Oh yeah they are having dinner...again"
"Okay" Aveline turned around and looked at them "how do they afford to eat out almost every night"
"I mean her parents are loaded" Maria pointed out. Thinking of Elise's house back in Paris and how extravagant it was.
"True but what about Arno?" Evie asked.
"Well, I'm sure Elise is paying for him," Aveline said with bitterns in her voice. She turned around and continued cooking them gumbo.
"I just don't get it" Maria stated "how can she be with Arno like that constantly? I like Altair but sometimes I need a break from him"
"Same I love Henry but sometimes he's needy" Evie replied. She and Henry had gone on several dates, and she loved them all. But sometimes it's good not to see the same person every day.
Aveline shrugged "I don't know. Anyway, let's eat" Aveline had the exact opposite problem as Elise and Arno. She barely saw Gerlad and they were more distant than ever. They really only interacted in classes or practiced for the play.
The girls then all dug in, and Maria spoke up "How are you and Gerald by the way?". Maria still remembered how weirdly they interacted at practice.
"We're fine" Aveline responded very vaguely. Just then Arno and Elise came crashing in laughing.
"Oh, sorry thought you were out at the café" Elise laughed. She was a bit tipsy.
"Oh, is that Gumbo" Arno pulled away from Elise and started looking for a bowl.
"Arno we just ate," Elise said pulling up a chair next to Maria. Maria did not enjoy the smell of wine coming from Elise.
"Yeah, and I'm still hungry" Arno then grabbed a huge serving and Aveline made a face of disdain that Evie and Maria picked up on. Aveline had worked hard on her gumbo for just her roommates. Arno and Elise then started talking loudly and in French. Which annoyed Evie and Maria since they did not speak the language. Aveline then made a face of disgust when Elise said something, and Arno agreed, and they went to her room.
"Wait what just happened," Maria asked.
Aveline rolled her eyes annoyed "you don't wanna know"
Evie then got up and started clearing the table "I'm telling you this is getting exhausting"
Hours went by and everyone did their own thing. It was now late in the evening and visitation was almost over. All three of the girls kept that in mind. As Maria went out of her room to get a snack she saw Arno and Elise making out on the couch. Maria couldn't take it anymore, she was prepared. She went back to her room and grabbed her spray bottle. Yup, she was done.
She then walked in front of Elise and Arno but of course, they did not notice. She then sprayed them "enough of this!" she went a bit crazy spraying them.
Elise jumped up and screamed at her "What the hell!"
Arno grabbed his face "my eyes!" He was screaming in pain.
Aveline and Evie then ran out to see what was going on. "Is everyone okay?" Evie asked but then smelled vinegar and saw Arno in pain.
"Is this vinegar" Elise was smelling her clothes.
"Yes, you spray cats with it when they misbehave" Maria screamed at them "and we are sick of you and Arno ALWAYS being together"
Elise then glared at Maria "I'm getting the RHD" she then stormed off. She wanted Maria to get in trouble. Spraying her with vinegar was so uncalled for.
"Fuck that's Altair" Maria then ran off following. She didn't want Altair to think she was some crazy person.
"Wait stop" Evie then followed them "let's talk about this"
Aveline then stood there and rolled her eyes. She then looked over at Arno in pain and got a wet paper towel for Arno to wash his eyes out.
Elise then ran to Altair's door and banged on it hard. Elise then remembered Altair and Maria were dating. "Shit" Maria then ran up "is this why you and Altair are fucking one another so you can get away with breaking rules in the building"
"You and Arno need to stop always being together" Maria replied angrily.
"You're just jealous!" Elise screamed back at her "why the hell did you spray us with vinegar" Elise then turned around and banged on Altair's door "your girlfriend is a psycho!"
Evie then got caught up "stop!" Evie knew they were being insanely loud in the hall. Just then Altair swung open the door.
"What is going on?" he looked at Elise who looked a bit wet and smelled of vinegar. Maria looked extremely pissed and Evie looked frantic. All three of them looked at one another and then burst into screaming. "Stop" Altair screamed at them. "I don't know what is going on"
"What's going on is that your girlfriend sprayed me with vinegar" Elise screamed at Altair.
"Only because you and Arno keep fucking each other like animals in heat. It's getting old and gross" Maria screamed back. "I mean it's constant!"
Evie then spoke up trying to de-escalate the situation. "Okay well we are sorry, and we can handle this later." Evie did not want to bother others with her problems.
Altair then said "I'm getting Malik and he is sorting your problems out. I will not be a part of this for multiple reasons" Altair then pulled out his phone and texted Malik to come here. Malik responded and he was there a minute later.
"Alright what is going on?" Malik walked up and saw Maria, Elise, and Evie all standing in front of Altair.
"They are having roommate issues" Altair explained what was going on. Soon Aveline and Arno walked out. Arno was doing better.
Malik then announced "Okay Aveline, Evie, Elise, and Maria follow me to the study room. Arno, you aren't a part of this"
All the girls followed Malik to the other side of the dorm to the study room. They all took a seat at a table. Malik went to the front of the classroom and grabbed a paper and pens and put it on the table. "This is a roommate contract. You will all be filing it out"
"Fine," Maria said grabbing a pen and started writing.
Elise then grabbed a pen "hang on everyone needs to write the rules"
Aveline and Evie then grabbed pens and started filling out the contract. Malik then coached them on what to do and helped them out. "Elise you can't keep having Arno spend the night. It's unfair to everyone"
Elise then sighed "I know I just love him" Elise had never felt so strong for a person. She felt like she and Arno had known each other their whole lives.
"Yeah, but we miss you" Maria admitted.
Evie then spoke up "for real Elise we wanna have dinner with you but just the girls"
"It does suck not seeing you. Also, Arno can't be eating the food I made just for us" Aveline also added. Elise was then so touched. She never had friends like this.
"Wow, I'm sorry I had no idea. I guess I got a little caught up" Elise blushed now feeling bad but touched.
Maria then smiled "It's okay we just wanna see you more"
Aveline and Evie then nodded agreeing. Malik then spoke up again "you see sometimes you need to have healthy conversations." Malik then went over the rules and really hounded Elise about visitation and all that. The others were relieved that they were getting help.
"Also, Elise I'm sorry I sprayed you and Arno with vinegar it wasn't cool" Maria apologized sometimes her anger got the best of her.
"Well, I probably should have controlled myself sorry" Elise apologized back. She knew she and Arno needed to control themselves.
"I'm glad to see everyone on better terms" Malik smiled. He was glad this was not as intense as he thought it was. The girls all decided that Wednesday nights would be their girl's night and they would cook and hang out. Elise also agreed that Arno would no longer spend the night and they would go somewhere else. Maria said she would throw away her spray bottle. Aveline and Evie breathed sighs of relief. Malik was proud of himself for handling the conflict. He texted Altair that they were good to go and never to piss off Maria. Malik could not believe the balls of steel she had but was nevertheless impressed with her.
Eivor was getting fed up with his roommates. He and Arno shared a bathroom and Elise's stuff was always everywhere because of that. He also kept finding red hairs which kept getting on his clothes. Luckily Randvi had red hair but still. On top of that Jacob was the messiest human. He never cleaned up after himself. At first, he was able to keep the mess in his room and then it broke containment and was now in the kitchen. Eivor was now aggressively doing his dishes and leaving Jacob's dishes to rot. Arno then walked in.
Eivor scrunched his nose "why do you smell like vinegar"
Arno then sighed and took a seat. "Maria got mad at me ad Elise for kissing on the couch and sprayed up"
"Wait for real" Eivor laughed.
"Yes!" Arno sighed. Just then Jacob walked out of his room with a bowl.
"Oh perfect you're doing to the dishes" he then placed his bowl into the sink and walked back to his room. Eivor then just stopped what he was doing. He then calmly grabbed all of Jacob's dishes. Arno was watching very confused as the Viking then walked to Jacob's room. Jacob was sitting at his desk working on a paper and saw Eivor walk in.
"Are you good?" he asked confused.
Eivor then threw the dirty dishes onto Jacob's bed. "Do your damn dishes"
Jacob then stood up angrily "what the hell?"
Arno then ran in to see what was going on. "What are you doing Eivor"
"Making sure Jacob does his dishes. I have had to keep doing them and I'm getting sick of it." Eivor was absolutely done.
"I mean I don't think it's that bad" Arno tried defending Jacob and de-escalating the situation.
"How would you know you're never here" Eivor screamed at him. He was starting to miss Arno. It was always fun to hang out with him. Arno then looked at him a bit hurt. "Arno I'm also tired of having to clean up the bathroom area. You and Elise have crap everywhere!" If Eivor had to pick up one more bobby pin he was going to lose his shit.
"Excuse me I-" Arno started.
Just then Alexios came out of his room to see what was going on. "Why is everyone yelling?" he asked.
Jacob then spoke up angrily "because Jarl Eivor feels the need to tell us off" Jacob was beyond pissed at Eivor. He would now have to wash his comforter.
"Well, I wouldn't have to if you did your damn dishes" Eivor argued back. "Do you know what it's like to clean up two-week-old spaghetti sauce off a plate? Or to put your hand in the water and feel wet food" Eivor still felt disgusted.
Jacob then tried to say something back, but Alexios intervened "Stop. I'm getting Desmond to help us" Alexio has had his fair share of roommate issues. He was used to having to deal with it. He knew he was once a difficult roommate and knew Desmond could help. He also wanted to stay friends with them. The last few weeks had been great. Alexios walked down the hall and knocked on Desmond's door. He felt bad because he knew it was late, but they needed help.
A few seconds later Desmond opened the door. He was surprised to see Alexios. "Oh hey what's up". He hoped Alexios was dropping the Templars.
"Sorry to bother but we are having roommate issues. Can you please help us?"
Desmond was shocked but nodded "yeah sure let me get a roommate contract."
A few minutes went by, and Desmond met up with them in their room. He knocked and Alexios answered the door. Desmond walked in and everyone was at the kitchen table. Eivor was sitting there angrily along with Jacob. Arno just looked awkward. Alexio looked relieved for the help. "Thanks for coming"
"Yeah, no prob" Desmond replied. "Okay so here is a roommate contract" Desmond put the paper on the table. "We are going to fill this out. But first, tell me what is going on"
Everyone then started yelling. "Okay okay hang on one at a time" Desmond asserted. Eivor went first and described the issue. He was sick of doing the dishes, taking the trash out, and having to deal with Elise and Arno. Jacob then went to explain how Eivor threw the dishes on his bed. Arno then went on trying to defend why Elise's stuff was there. Alexios just sat there quietly hoping their friendships weren't ruined. After Desmond gathered all the information. He made them fill out the contract and walk them through it. He swore sometimes he was a babysitter. It was decided they would alternate chores each week. Desmond also told Arno that he and Elise could not live together.
"I'm sorry I threw the dishes on your bed" Eivor apologized.
"I mean I get it. Evie's done stuff like that before" Jacob said. He knew he was messy but often forgot until it became a biohazard issue.
"Also Sorry for being with Elise so much. I do miss hanging out with you guys" Arno admitted. He was a bit jealous of their Valentine's drunk spree. It sounded like so much fun. Alexio felt relieved to know that they were all on better terms. The last few weeks he had drifted away from Abbas and Ceasare and started hanging out with his roommates.
"Okay well, I'm glad we worked everything out. Just remember the contract. Anway's I'm going to bed now" Desmond said goodbye and walked out. He was glad this roommate issue was not as bad as last year's.
The week went by and now it was another RA meeting. "So, I heard we had some roommate issues how did it go resolving them," Altair asked. They were once again sitting in his living room.
Malik went first "Great. Maria, Elise, Evie, and Aveline are better than ever. There is also no sign of Arno extending his stay and no vinegar has been weaponized" Everyone still laughed about Maria doing that. Altair knew not to piss her off.
"I still can't believe Maria did that" Desmond laughed "anyways went well for me. Eivor snapped and threw Jacob's dirty dishes on his bed. Luckily Alexios surprisingly helped me get it handled."
"Wait for real?" Ezio said. He knew Alexios was usually the difficult one.
Desmond nodded "I know I was shocked. But I think hanging around his roommates has helped him. I've noticed he's barely with Abbas and Ceasare anymore"
"That's good to hear. Abbas and Ceasare are the worse" Altair said. He figured he could make room for Alexios in the Brotherhood.
"I had a good week. I still haven't had roommate issues" Conner spoke up. He was glad he didn't have to deal with Aveline and them. He felt it would be so awkward.
"I saw you and Dobby at the Café" Ezio wiggled his eyebrows.
Conner then smiled and rolled his eyes. "Yeah, we've been eating together a lot. It's been nice" Conner liked eating with her and hanging out, but it had been feeling boring lately and he had no idea why. He figured they should maybe do more dates and hopefully, that would spice things up.
"Well, I went on my date this week with Sofia, and it was great!" Ezio smiled. He really liked her. She was so different from the others he had dated. He liked how she was always reading and studying. She always had a fun story to share.
"Congratulations that's awesome," Altair said. "Yeah, Maria and I are doing good. We're doing another swimming lesson next week. I need to prepare for Spring Break" Altair was beyond nervous about Spring break.
"Please don't kill her" Malik sighed "I actually like her" Malik did like how she and he could so easily make fun of Altair. She was great to talk to.
Altair rolled his eyes. He then started going over housing stuff and what to expect and all that. He was glad to be here. The last few years at Davenport had been crazy
