Anyway, after 2 weeks and 5 days, here we are with the end of Lola Loud and Lincoln Legacy! Let's elucidate the secret that Lincoln was so keen to hide when he was alive. Secret? No, that's a little clickbait for my taste.
Seanrudin: Everything has to end (I can't believe how there are fanfics with hundreds or even thousands of chapters, including some Loud House!), and good stories, to be good, always need to be told in the right length, some bigger, some smaller .
Vallalkozo: In fact, it was a farewell in style, and for that, nothing better than Lola honoring Lincoln! About the notebook, maybe you'll agree with what Lucy has to say.
eltioRob95: Your wait ends here! I still don't know Lola well, but she sounds like a fascinating character! Half fairy and half witch, but here in fanfic she changed for better!
And now, the ending (and I hope you don't throw tomatoes at the end!).
Enjoy!
Chapter 08:
Loudnatics
Lori is surprised by Lola's disfigured face, as are Lucy and Lynn Jr. when they saw the sisters returning home.
Lynn scoffs that instead of crocs, she's going to buy Lola a striped suit, because now she looks like Beetlejuice! Lola just smiles. After all, she's had such a magical afternoon that she doesn't care about anything else.
Lucy would like to feel doubly vindicated by Lola's defeat in the pageant and her disfigured face, but Lola is so happy and peaceful that Lucy can't bring herself to have any bad feelings.
While Lori and Leni talk to their Mother about how they spent the afternoon, Lola and Lana, in high spirits, take a nice bath together.
There will still be plenty of time for them to talk about the Miss contest once all the sisters arrive (Luan is doing her stand-up comedy at the pub, Luna has gone to visit Sam Sharp, and Lisa has gone to the museum with her dad).
Meanwhile, Lola and Lana are joined by Lucy and Lynn Jr. in Lincoln's room (Lily is with her Mother downstairs).
It's time to know the diary of discord.
"Where did you find the notebook?" Lana asks.
"Was in the basement, inside that metal shelf crammed with old papers, newspapers and magazines," Lucy clarifies.
"But was in the last gap on the shelf, way up there," Lynn continues. "Behind a pile of papers. With a little effort - or rather, no effort - I pulled out the papers and took the notebook out!"
"But she pulled so hard that the papers all fell on top of me!" Lucy complains, in a serious tone of voice. "And soon after, Lynn did the same!"
"Oh, Lucy, mercy. I got distracted by you and knocked off the ladder," Lynn justifies. "Only that."
"Only?! My nose still hurts!"
"Relax. My butt is not made of steel."
Lana laughs.
"So good it wasn't you, Lana," Lucy mocks, sharply.
"But you haven't opened the notebook yet?" Lola wants to know.
"No touch," Lynn assures.
"And what are we going to do now?"
"What are you referring to?" Lana doesn't understand.
"Well, if Lincoln wanted to throw the notebook into the fire, wouldn't we better do what he wanted right away?"
"What?! After fighting so hard?! Never!" Lana refutes. "We need to know first what he hid from us that was so valuable. Then we do whatever we want with the notebook."
"What if it's something that tarnish his image?" Lynn speculates. "Wouldn't be better to leave the past untouched?"
Lucy, motionless, spends a long time with her arms crossed, looking down.
Until she finally puts her hands on hips and breaks the silence:
"I've thought about... And I believe that, in the end, no new facts about Lincoln will be more embarrassing than anything we've all done in our lives."
Lola, Lana and Lynn mute.
Lucy holds out her hands:
"This is no time for hypocrisy. So I propose a pact: we will read the notebook, and if we find out that our dead brother exchanged kisses with Clyde... We won't love him any less for it."
Lola holds out her hands:
"I promise!"
Lana repeats the gesture:
"Me too!"
Lynn follows the sisters:
"I agree. We've made fun of Lincoln enough."
The four pairs of hands stack up.
Lynn Jr. takes the notebook with orange cover, sits at the desk, takes a deep breath, snaps his fingers, looks to the left, looks to the right, taps the floor 3 times with his right foot...
"HURRY!" Lucy, Lola and Lana are irritated with Lynn's obsession with rituals.
"Oh girls, I have to be emotionally prepared," Lynn explains, smiling.
"This is not a softball match!" Lana informs.
Without further ado, Lynn opens the notebook and starts flipping through.
After some illegible and scribbled drawings, a word written in bold letters catches her attention.
Loudnatics
Under the word,, a small explanatory note:
11 fantastic animals with superpowers who love each other like a family. Each has its own family, but they spend long periods together. Inspired by X-Men, Mortal Kombat and Loonatics Unleashed.
"11 animals? It's us!" Lana gets excited.
"Shh," Lucy calls for silence. "Let her proceed."
Lynn keep flipping through the pages. A portrait of hero animal on the left page and a reference sheet on the right page.
"I don't believe! He turned us all into superheroes! Each one of us is a different animal!"
Lola, Lana and Lucy stick to Lynn's back to look at the drawings.
"Read!" Lola demands.
Lynn clears her throat and goes back to the first animal:
Lori The Lion
She is the leader of team (or at least she tries to be), always distributing mission tasks among everyone. Decided, determined, ready to support and encourage her hero friends. Although loving and conciliatory, she is somewhat bossy and explosive. Don't mess with her or anyone she loves, or the consequences will be catastrophic!
Main Powers: Fatal Claws, Venomous Kiss, Super Bite.
Fatality: Golf Balls on enemy's head.
"No one denies that Lori is a wild ocelot," Lana comments.
"More than wild, she is a queen. The queen of the jungle," Lola ponders.
Leni The Poodle Dog
Caring, affectionate, has a heart so big that came out of her chest (but don't tell her that, or she'll get the wrong idea). She is passionate about fashion, finds beauty in everything and manages to turn any trash into a valuable and useful item. She always tries to see the best in everyone, which maybe explains her weakest point: her naivete. But make no mistake: her heart may be golden, but she's a bit unpredictable and fickle. Don't you dare trespass on her territory, or you'll find yourself far... far away...
Main Power: Magic Dust, which causes temporary blindness.
Fatality: Silk Threads that bind you from top to bottom, thanks to the radioactive silkworm that bit her.
(I can't put a radioactive spider, for obvious reasons...)
"I've always admired the fact that Leni is so patient with all of us," Lola observes.
"She is optimism incarnate," Lana suggests.
Luna The Chameleon
Lively, rebellious, colorful, multifaceted. She loves to sing, play her guitar, drum anything and lift the spirits of those who are down. Her principle is never to give up, no matter how ugly and unsolvable the tragedy seems. If you feel sad and distressed, Luna is your safe haven.
Main Power: Hypnotic Singing, which makes the enemy carry out orders, take a nap, or even turn into a stone statue.
Fatality: Broken Guitar (with her powers, the guitar always returns to normal).
"I don't see Luna as a Jigglypuff," Lana quips.
"But I love sleeping to the sound of her beautiful exotic voice," Lola admits.
Luan The Hyenna
Cheerful, playful, irreverent, hysterical, a joke teller, she loves to surprise and innovate with new weapons and fighting tactics. Absolutely unpredictable in combat, and this can be as useful as dangerous.
Main Powers: Various weapons and gadgets in the jacket and top hat, one more unusual than the other.
Fatality: Histrionic laughter and card throwing.
"Luan's jokes and puns alone are fatalities," Lana scoffs.
Lola, Lana and Lynn laugh. Lucy remains quiet.
Lynn The Hedgehog
Athletic and sporty, she is the strongest and most powerful of team, but not necessarily the most efficient. Energetic and impulsive, she cannot live without moving or exercising, and therefore tends to take unnecessary risk. She usually provokes her opponents, so she can fight even more. She loves walking naked, as she values freedom above all else.
Main Powers: SuperSpeed, SuperPunch, SuperKick, SuperHead, SuperEvery.
Fatality: A single punch and the enemy goes to China.
"Hmm…" Lynn reflects. "This Bio is very true to me... And my violence is not always the most effective way to resolve troubles... But since when do I like to walk naked?"
"I'm the nudist in the house," Lana recalls.
"Did you need to quote that?" Lola is uncomfortable. "I think it has more to do with Sonic The Hedgehog. He is a hero who always emphasizes freedom and he walks without clothes."
"Makes sense," Lynn agrees. "But after what I did to Lincoln... Wouldn't be better if I were a squirrel?"
"On the contrary," Lana disagrees. "You have to be a hedgehog for your girlfriend to be a squirrel."
"Oh yeah!" Lynn corroborates. "How did I not think of that? Lynn The hedgehog LOVES the squirrels!"
Lincoln The Rabbit
Only boy in team. He is the "Rabbit with the Plan". He outlines the group's operations and strategies. He knows every villain's strengths and weaknesses and knows how each hero should act. He is not always listened to, but in the end, he is always right.
Main Power: He has no powers. His intelligence and creativity are enough.
Fatality: He has no fatalities.
"Oh no, not like that," Lynn complains. "Now he's being too self-indulgent. How can he always be right? And dismiss the powers, like he's better than us?"
Lucy breaks the silence:
"He is not bragging. Perhaps he means that he had the feeling of not having anything special. He thought he was ugly and clumsy and nothing went right with him. So it's like he only relies on his intellect."
"Lincoln was an authentic hero, without superpowers," Lola reinforces.
"And many times he was right and we mistreated him unfairly," Lana adds.
"True," Lynn agrees. "Let's give him a break here."
"Now it's me, isn't it?" Lucy scratches her hand discreetly.
Lucy The Bat
Quiet, shy, taciturn, innocent. She avoids talking about her past or her family. She doesn't refuse to follow orders, but she often believes she's left in the team and would like to do more. She tends to think differently, but she doesn't believe anyone will listen to her. She is ugly and haunting, but she has a very pure heart.
Main Power: Death Zone, a dark tornado that serves as a portal to an ultradimensional prison.
Fatality: She turns into a zombie and gives a horrible scream.
Lucy starts to cry.
"What's wrong, Lucy?" Lynn doesn't understand.
"He translated me perfectly," Lucy acknowledges, her voice cracking. "Like that day… I was confused by you all turning against Lincoln, but deep down I knew you were wrong. Even so, I joined you in the chorus that shouted 'NO!' and he, so embarrassed, decided to sleep outside the house. I should have defended him, but I didn't. I was nothing more than a... 'order taker'."
Lola, Lana and Lynn are moved as Lucy continues to cry.
"But I'm not that faker Eichmann!" She breaks the monotony in her voice and waves her arms in the air.
Everyone follows in silence, shocked.
"Better go on," Lucy pulls out her tissue.
Lola The Cat
Beautiful, charming, captivating... and dangerous. Passionate about fashion and beauty, Lola is lucky and always gets what she wants. Therefore, she tends to always want more. Watch out for some villain not to brainwash her, or she could very well turn into an evil genie (I love this trope)!
Main Power: Scent of Love, which causes hypnosis or sleep, such as Luna's Hypnotic Song.
Fatality: Kiss on the Shoulder.
"Curious…" Lynn notes. "This is the paragraph with the most crossed-out sentences. As if he wants to be careful not to offend you, Lola."
"Hmm…" Lola analyzes. "I think this Bio suits me in the past... Today, not anymore."
"Are you not offended?" Lana finds strange.
"Not at all," Lola assures. "Let's see what he has to say about you."
Lana The Raccoon
Sister of Lola, she is her great partner... and rival. The two always fight over everything and always act together in everything. They cannot live without each other's help and are therefore inseparable. Lana is great at menial jobs and rescuing victims from mud and other dangerous places. She is an admirer of life and, for her, killing or arresting villains will never be her immediate option.
Main Power: Gloves that shock.
Fatality: Mud Storm.
"Wow!" Lana wonders. "He was even generous with me. Although being a firefighter also fascinates me..."
"And we really are friends and rivals," Lola hugs Lana.
"Always will be," Lana winks at her twin.
Lisa The Owl
Wise, gifted, extremely rational. It's she who builds the team's machines and gadgets and pilots her own spaceship. Her knowledge is more theoretical than practical, and because of this, she may not always have the right reasoning. Workaholic, she has a hard time slowing down and having fun with the other heroes. Eternally dissatisfied, she always believes that she can overcome herself and improve a little more.
Main Powers: Her machines and inventions, plus a SuperTornado she makes by flapping her wings.
Fatality: Explosive balls that she triggers through her tablet.
"I thought Lisa would be a wombat," Lana quips.
"Why?" Lynn doesn't understand.
"I don't think Lola will want to know," Lana smiles cynically.
"I get it," Lola assures, looking up.
? The Red Panda
Nobody knows anything about him/her since he/she is mute, but he/she always accompanies the heroes in battles like an angel of luck. He/she disappears and reappears whenever he/she wants and has very hidden powers that nobody knows how to identify.
Main Powers: Unknown.
Fatality: He/she has no fatalities.
(I don't hate the girls, but after 9 sisters, I'm frantically hoping my next sibling is a boy!)
"Well, well," Lynn wonders. "So he wrote all when Lily was still in Mommy's tummy."
"Time passes," Lana marvels.
"It's so magical," Lucy absorbs. "He didn't know what was coming... And he created Red Panda as someone that little is known about, but he will always be there to comfort us."
"Exactly like Lily," Lola finishes.
They all look at Lily's empty crib.
"Well, what conclusion did we come to?" Lynn gets to her feet.
"I think I know why he wanted to throw the notebook in the fire," Lucy concludes. "He was afraid he was going to embarrass all of us, like he was gossiping behind our backs or taking advantage of all our flaws."
"I feel like he meant no harm," Lynn opines.
"Well, and now?" Lana asks.
Lola doesn't let anyone answer:
"We will NOT destroy the notebook. I will use it."
Lynn, Lucy and Lana exclaim:
"WHAT?!"
Lola smiles and raises her arms:
"I think I found my life mission: I will carry out all of Lincoln's unfinished projects!"
"But he disapproved the 'Loudnatics' concept..." Lana recalls.
"I can review and change some things," Lola suggests. "Let's see this as a beautiful tribute he made to all of us!"
"I think it makes sense," Lucy smiles lightly.
"I would love to see myself as a hero in action!" Lynn is excited.
"Just imagine..." Lola speculates. "Lola Loud, cartoonist and entertainment entrepreneur!"
"Sounds great," Lana approves.
" 'Crocodile Productions,' " Lynn ventures.
All four laugh. Even Lucy falls for the joke.
"Actually, the only plausible name is... 'Lincoln Productions'!" Lucy points up.
They all nod.
Lola takes a marker pen and writes on the orange cover of notebook:
"THE LINCOLN LEGACY!"
THE END!
And so we come to the end! 3 and a half months that went (more or less) dedicated to this mini-saga involving Lola Loud and her maturation after the death of her dear brother Lincoln Loud. I will still do other fanfics based on Requiem For a Loud, and I will also bring stories with Lincoln alive (or did you think the whole time that I hated him?).
This was my first fanfic on to spark some interest, having 16 reviews so far! It seems that Sonic fans don't appreciate my work very much, and it's easier to please Loud House fans! I don't know, comment what you think. I also want to know what else you like besides Loud House.
I had already defined almost all of the Loudnatics pets, but I asked ChatGPT for a little help.
I always liked that trope of a hero being brainwashed or something and becoming a villain for 1 episode, so I got Lincoln loving that too.
"Kiss On The Shoulder" is a reference to the song "Beijinho no Ombro" by Brazilian singer Valesca. It's a popular expression that means "shake your face, envious", something that matches with Lola very well (or matched, since she changed her attitude in this fanfic).
Wait for a short fanfic of mine based on No Such Luck soon. After that I'll go back to focusing on my Sonic fanfics. I hope you, Loud House fans, learn to appreciate Sonic too.
See you soon!
