Chapter 15: The Amazoness Sisters

Harbor

A truck with the Academia logo pulled up to the harbor. "Hey, is it me or did it get really cold?" A soldier wearing red hugged himself.

"The sun is shining and the sky is clear. You should be sweating instead of shivering." A soldier wearing yellow scolded her junior.

"But you're shivering too." The red soldier pointed out.

"Because you started it! Hey, why are we here again?!" The yellow soldier yelled at the blue one.

"Because we lost the signal from the Obelisk Force here. We need to investigate." The blue soldier reminded his teammates. "But still, the temperature is really low. It's getting lower and lower." The blue soldier looked at his thermometer.

"Hey, there's some people there, hey!" The yellow student called out to three figures in the distance. The got closer and they all gasped.

It was the Obelisk Force, frozen solid with their faces showing defeat. "What the hell?" The blue soldier muttered.

Suddenly, the trio heard the sound of an engine and they saw their vehicle being driven away. "Hey, that's our car!" The red soldier cried out.

Cliffside Roadway

Rua was still passed out as he sat in the passenger seat as Rio drove the car. "Don't worry, Rua. I'll get you home." Rio put a hand on his shoulder as she steered.

Rio looked at her arm that had the tattoo. "Back there…"

Harbor – Rio vs Obelisk Force

The Obelisk Force were struggling against Rio as she had not lost a single Life Point. "I don't have time to deal with you! Battle! Crystal Zero! Attack all three Obelisk Force members! Crystal Javelin!" Crystal Zero threw her javelin and it blew them away.

Rio's tattoo then glowed and it unleashed a wave of ice that encased them frozen solid. "Did I…did I do that?" Rio was amazed by the power.

Cliffside Roadway

"If this power really proves that I'm a Barian…" Rio shook her head as she focused on the road. "My friends are first. Everything else comes after."

Rio stepped on the gas and the car dashed off towards the nearest city.

Heartland City – Duel Lodge

"Ladies and gentlemen, a lot has happened, but can you believe it? We have a four way tie for the title of Mrs. Ryuga! Yuzu Hiiragi, Ruri Kurosaki, Rin Hogan and Serena Andersen!" Dennis made the big announcement as spotlights shined down on the girls and the people cheered.

"Hey, if Ruri wins, you're gonna be Yuya's brother-in-law." Crow nudged Shun's shoulder.

"Y-You don't know that!" Shun denied. "Besides, what if he picks your sister? How would you feel?"

"I feel okay." Crow admitted. "Yuya's a good person, he wouldn't harm Rin."

"Same if he picked Serena." Johan joined in the conversation. "Plus, we would be cool uncles, or in my case, a hip grandpa."

"Oh, I'm already gonna spoil my niece or nephew." Crow grinned. "Or maybe if they have both, that would be cool."

"I wouldn't mind having triplets of grandchildren." Johan made a goofy grin. "Three times to kids, three times the fun."

"SHUT UP!" Shun snapped. "STOP PUTTING THOSE IMAGES IN MY HEAD!" Shun covered his ears and crouched down but the images of kids that have Yuya's and Ruri's genes kept appearing in his head.

"Uncle!" Shun imagined eight nieces and nephews crowing around him.

"GET. OUT. OF. MY. HEAD!" Shun banged his head against the wall.

"Unfortunately, the losers are eliminated, so say goodbye to the Tyler Sisters!" Dennis waved a handkerchief.

"Can we please move on with the mission?" Gloria was getting tired of this. "We're supposed to eliminate the Dimension Guardians."

"No! I do not accept this result!" Grace snapped and unleashed a dark aura that terrified the people in the lodge. "Enough of these games, there's still a way to prove that Yuya and I are meant to be together!"

"Two of you!" Grace pointed at the Bracelet Girls. "Face me and my sister in a Tag Duel! We'll showcase our true power!"

Ruri narrowed her eyes and clenched her fist. "Fine. I'll take part." Ruri stepped forward. "I still can't forgive the two of you for wiping out most of my school."

"Since it's a Tag Duel, you'll need a partner. So, who will it be?" Gloria asked.

"Me." Serena stepped forward next to Ruri.

Gloria then laughed. "Oh my god! Are you serious? An Xyz Dimension Duelist working together with a Fusion Dimension Duelist? You're supposed to be bitter enemies."

"I won't deny that Serena and I had a tough time together." Ruri recalled her fights with Serena in the Synchro Dimension. "But there is one thing that we agree on."

"Academia is going down!" Ruri and Serena declared. They both activated their Duel Disks, with Gloria and Grace following.

"Field Magic: Dimension Gates." The gates appeared around the pairs.

"Duel!" Ruri, Serena, Gloria and Grace declared.

"Figured this was gonna happen." Jonouchi sighed. "Hm?" Jonouchi then noticed Rua and Rio were gone. "They've been gone for a while. Hey, Akari." Jonouchi called Akari.

"What is it, Jonouchi?" Akari answered.

"Have you seen, Rio or Rua?" Jonouchi asked.

"Rua said he was gonna get snacks and Rio went to talk to her friend." Akari answered. "They're not back yet?"

"Hm? I don't like this. I'm gonna go look for them." Jonouchi ran out of the Duel Lodge.

Yuya was now slumping at the throne. "How much longer will this schtick go on? I want to get back to talking to my mom."

"Yuya." Yuya heard his name and he turned to see III. "Father wants to speak to you. He said it's important."

"Right." Yuya sighed in relief, glad that he could finally get away from all this madness.

"So, who won? Was it Ruri?" III asked.

"Not you too." Yuya groaned.

"My turn! Draw!" Gloria drew her card. "When there are no monsters on my field, I can activate the Continuous Magic: Slow Life! Due to this card's effect, both players cannot Special Summon during a turn they have Normal Summoned."

"The opposite applies as well." Grace added.

"Next, I activate the Magic Card: Fusion! I fuse the Amazoness Queen and Amazoness Swordswoman in my hand!" The two female warriors merged together in the spiraling vortex.

"Queen of the Amazons, gain the power of the bold and brave swords master, and forge an empire that unites everything! Fusion Summon! Appear! Level 8! Amazoness Empress (ATK: 2800, LV: 8)!" An Amazoness warrior wearing a skull helmet and armor, wielding a large sword appeared.

"I set one card and end my turn!" Gloria ended her turn.

Serena looked at her Duel Disk. "So, I can only pick either a Normal Summon or a Special Summon." Serena looked at the Tyler Sisters. "If they're strong enough to eliminate Ruri's school, then there's always a catch with them."

"I summon Moonlight Yellow Marten (DEF: 2000, LV: 4) in Defense Position!" Serena summoned her marten to the field. Serena noticed that Gloria's eye twitched a bit. "It seems that they want us to Special Summon. Most likely, that set card." Serena turned to Ruri and she nodded.

"I set four cards!" Serena set most of her cards. "Then, I activate the Continuous Magic: Mirage of Nightmare!" Serena played her last card.

"So, you're not stupid enough to come at us with full power." Grace said.

"Academia Duelists are an open book." Serena said. "It's basic Dueling to limit your opponent's options while setting up an insurance that will benefit you in case, they get around it. Most likely, your sister's set card is something that will help you whenever we Special Summon a monster."

"Clever. The Professor did send us here to eliminate you Dimension Guardians." Gloria commented.

"We came up with counters against all of the summon methods, including Pendulum." Grace said. "But even if you figure out our moves, it doesn't mean you can defeat us."

"Then prove it." Serena said. "I end my turn!"

"I'll finish this quickly. My turn! Draw!" Grace drew her card.

"At this moment, Mirage of Nightmare's effect activates! I draw cards until I have four in my hand!" Serena drew four more cards.

"But during your Standby Phase, you have to send four cards to the Graveyard." Grace pointed out.

"Quick-Play Magic: Double Cyclone! This card lets me target one Magic or Trap card on my field as well as one Magic or Trap card on the opponent's field and destroy them! I destroy my Mirage of Nightmare along with your Slow Life!" Two cyclones destroyed the designated cards.

"Alright, with this they can do Normal Summons and Special Summons together!" Johan smiled at his daughter's move.

"I activate the Magic Card: Fusion!" Grace played the same card as her sister. "From my hand, I fuse Amazoness Pet Tiger and Amazoness Spy!" Both the beast and the warrior entered the spiraling vortex.

"Beast of the jungle whose fangs tear up everything. Obtain the prowling eyes of the female warrior, and appear as a new, savage hybrid! Fusion Summon! Appear! Level 7! Amazoness Pet Liger (ATK: 2500, LV: 7)!" Grace summoned a ferocious lion/tiger hybrid.

"Battle! I attack Moonlight Yellow Marten with Amazoness Pet Liger! This card gains 500 Attack Points when it attacks!" Grace's monster powered up.

Amazoness Pet Liger (ATK: 2500→3000)

"And as long as I control Amazoness Empress on the field, when an Amazoness monster attacks a monster in Defense Position, it can deal piercing damage." Liger struck down Yellow Marten and damaged Serena and Ruri.

Serena/Ruri LP: 4000→3000

"After the battle ends, Liger's Attack Points return to normal." Liger's Attack Points returned to normal.

Amazoness Liger (ATK: 3000→2500)

"But this is far from over! Since we're sharing the field, I can use Amazoness Empress as my monster! Amazoness Empress! Direct Attack! End this Duel and prove that we're the strongest!" Grace shouted.

"I activate my Trap Card: A Hero Emerges!" Serena played her set card. "When the opponent's monster declares an attack, you must choose a random card in my hand and if it's a Monster Card, I can Special Summon it." Serena held her cards out. "Now, pick one!"

"I pick the second to the right." Grace pointed to the card.

Serena smiled. "I Special Summon Moonlight Dark Panther (ATK: 800, LV: 2) in Attack Position!" Serena summoned a female beast-warrior that was dressed like a panther with sharp claws.

"Then, Amazoness Empress, attack Moonlight Dark Panther! And here's some huge damage!" Amazoness Empress charged with her sword.

"I activate Moonlight Dark Panther's effect! When this card is targeted for an attack, the attack is negated and the opponent takes 400 points of damage for each card in their hand!" Serena revealed.

"What?!" Grace's eyes widened.

Amazoness Empress swung her sword but Moonlight Dark Panther dodged it and charged towards Gloria and Grace and swiped three times, damaging both of them since Grace had three cards left in her hand.

"Damn it…of all the cards I picked that one." Grace got upset. "I set two cards and end my turn!"

Heartland – Station Plaza

"Hey! Rio! Rua!" Jonouchi called out. "Geez, where are they?" Jonouchi pulled out his Duel Disk and dialed Rio's number.

"Sorry, the number you're contacting either has no signal or has been turned off. Please try again later." Jonouchi's Duel Disk said.

"That's the third time." Jonouchi muttered.

"ARGH!" Jonouchi heard the loud cry of a boy. He then saw dust and smoke rising from a construction site. "That can't be good." Jonouchi ran towards the site.

Construction Site

A boy in Resistance clothes was blown back and landed alongside another Resistance boy and a Resistance girl.

"Fantastic. Beautiful. Such a painful and twisted expressions. It shines only during my fanservice!" A boy with a long, cross-like scar running down the right side of this face smiled. He had spiky layered red-purple and yellow hair and red eyes. He also wears formal medieval-style attire that consists of a long flowing white coat with white pants, dark brown boots and a shirt which all feature a curly, high-class pattern.

"IV…please…we're friends…" The boy winced in pain.

"And now to finish the fanservice." IV raised his Duel Disk over the three Resistance members.

At that moment, Jonouchi arrived. "Stop!" Jonouchi called out, but it was too late as IV pressed the button on his Duel Disk and the Resistance members were turned into cards.

"You bastard!" Jonouchi charged towards IV and threw a punch but IV caught it and kicked Jonouchi in the stomach. "Your Duel Disk…you're from the Xyz Dimension, why did you card your comrades?"

"Friends?" IV questioned. "I'm doing the Resistance of favor of getting rid of the weak and useless ones. Besides, they're my fans, so I only give the best to my fans."

"You're a sick freak? Who the hell are you?!" Jonouchi growled.

"I'm IV." IV introduced himself.

"IV? You mean you're III's and V's brother?" Jonouchi asked.

"III? V? Who the hell are they?" IV questioned.

"What? Are you kidding me?" Jonouchi narrowed his eyes. "What about your father?"

"I've been alone from the very beginning. I don't have a family. Now, do you want my fanservice?" IV activated his Duel Disk.

"Okay, something is definitely wrong with him. Even if this is his true self, there's no way he would forget his own family. Is it like what happened to Asuka's friends?" Jonouchi wondered.

"In that case, a Duel should get him back to his senses!" Jonouchi activated his Duel Disk.

"Field Magic: Dimension Gates!" The gates appeared around Jonouchi and IV.

"Duel!" Jonouchi and IV declared.

"I'm going first! Draw!" Jonouchi drew his card. "I summon Red-Eyes Black Chick (ATK: 800, LV: 1)!" Jonouchi summoned a small baby chick from a red egg.

"By sending this card from the field to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon Red-Eyes Black Dragon from my hand! Come! Red-Eyes Black Dragon (ATK: 2400, LV: 7)!" Jonouchi summoned his ace monster.

"Next, I activate the Magic Card: Black Flame Blast! When I have Red-Eyes Black Dragon on the field, I can inflict its Attack Points as damage to the opponent! Go! Red-Eyes! Black Flame Blast!" Red-Eyes unleashed its breath attack and it struck IV.

IV LP: 4000→1600

"III and IV are waiting for you! I'll bring you back to them, IV!" Jonouchi declared.

Arclight Laboratory

"Father, Brother. I've brought Yuya." III reported.

"Thank you, III." Byron thanked. "Yuya, do you remember what I told about the power that Academia has been using to overpower us?"

"Yeah, you said that were using the power of the Barian World and the Numbers." Yuya answered.

"While we have been able to regain some ground thanks to your teams' efforts, we have yet to fully rid them from the Xyz Dimension. Therefore, if we are going to truly win against Academia, we need that power from the other world."

"The other world…what's it called?" Yuya asked.

"The Astral World." Byron revealed. "I don't know how, but I think an ally was able to give us the coordinates to the Astral World."

"So, we can go there and obtain that power for ourselves?" Yuya asked.

"That's the gist of it." III answered.

"Okay, I'll go round up the team and—" Yuya formed a plan.

"Unfortunately, one cannot enter the Astral World easily." V interrupted Yuya. "Unlike the Barian World that embraces Chaos, the Astral World will only allow denizens that have Ranked Up to enter their world."

"Rank Up? You mean like those Rank-Up Magic Cards that Ruri and Shun have?" Yuya asked.

"Correct." Bryon confirmed. "But, the Astral World's Rank-Up is much different when compared to ours. To them, ranking up means that your heart must be noble and pure, while also working towards an dream that while may be impossible, can be made possible. Yuya, what is your goal?"

"My goal…" Yuya looked at his pendant and clasped it. "I don't think I have just one goal. I want to stop all of this senseless fighting. I also want to find a way to bring my brothers back from within my soul. But above all…" Yuya closed his eyes and thought of the memories he saw with his mother and father. "I just…want a family."

"That alone is why you are pure of heart, my boy." Byron put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "I'm not saying that the others aren't pure, but it takes a strong heart to get through these trying times."

"But…can I really do this on my own?" Yuya asked.

"You're really gonna start doubting yourself now?"

Yuya turned to see Asuka and Aki. "Asuka. Aki." Yuya said.

Asuka walked up to Yuya and lightly punched the top of his head. "Yuya, look at all that you've accomplished. You changed people for the better, you managed to mend rifts between the team. We won the biggest tournament in history thanks to you."

"Yuya…remember Zero Reverse." Aki joined in. "Everyone in the Synchro Dimension was in despair, but you managed to give everyone hope and to see a new future for everyone."

"But…I didn't do all of that. Everyone played a part." Yuya reminded them.

"But you guided us with your example." Aki put her hands on his shoulders. "That's why if anyone can save Heartland, it's you. And your actions will spur us on to get better. Don't worry about us. We'll hold down the fort until you get back."

Yuya smiled at Aki. "You're a very good doctor, Aki." Yuya turned to Byron. "I'll go to the Astral World and gained that power."

"Wait, there's some risks that I need to tell you." Byron stopped Yuya. "The truth is, we are going to forcefully open the gate to a new world. We have no idea if you will successfully get there. And even if you did, the Astral World is uncharted territory. We don't know what kind of dangers will be there. Also…" Byron closed his eyes.

"Also?" Yuya asked.

"It's could be a one-way ticket." V finished his father's sentence. "We're using a lot of energy to open the gate. If the transporter breaks, we cannot bring you back to our world. You might just get stuck in the Astral World forever."

"I understand." Yuya answered. "But if we don't do anything, everyone's suffering will continue. And if there's no road back from the Astral World, then I'll just create one! I made a promise when I left Standard and I plan to keep it!"

Asuka and Aki smiled at Yuya's declaration while III and V looked at each other and nodded. "Yuya." III approached Yuya with a box. "This was given to us by Samejima."

"Samejima?!" Yuya's eyes widened.

Serena and Ruri vs Tyler Sisters

"Next is my turn! Draw!" Ruri drew her card. "Using the Scale 0 Lyrical Luscinia – Gray Albatross and the Scale 5 Lyrical Luscinia – Violet Hawk, I set the Pendulum Scale!" Ruri set the Pendulum Scale and her two female bird monsters appeared in columns of blue light.

"With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Levels 1 to 4! Birds that soar through the endless sky, flock together and come to my aid! Pendulum Summon! Appear! My monsters!" The portal opened and two monsters appeared.

"Lyrical Luscinia – Moonstone Hawk (ATK: 1400, LV: 4)! Quartz Bat (ATK: 1500, LV: 4)!" Ruri summoned her two Lyrical Luscinia monsters.

Gloria smiled. "I activate the Continuous Trap: Amazoness Audience! When the opponent Special Summons a monster to their field, we gain Life Points equal to the total Attack Points of those monsters!"

"Thanks for the extra 2900 Life Points." Grace thanked.

Gloria/Grace LP: 2800→5700

"I Overlay my Level 4 Moonstone Hawk and Quartz Bat!" Both of Ruri's monsters turned into green light and entered the spacelike portal in front of her.

"Wings of the ancients! Erase the darkness of the battlefield and brink back the light! Descend now! Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 4! The mighty leader of the Lyrical Luscinia! Lyrical Eagle Dragon (ATK: 2500, RNK: 4, OVU: 2)!" Ruri summoned her dragon.

"Again?" Grace raised an eyebrow as she and her sister gained more Life Points.

Gloria/Grace LP: 5700→8200

"What is Ruri doing?!" Allen got angry. "She's letting them gain too many Life Points!"

"Next, I activate the Equip Magic: Lyrical Platinum Cloak!" A cloak appeared around Lyrical Eagle Dragon.

"I activate Lyrical Eagle Dragon's effect! By using one Overlay Unit, when Lyrical Eagle battles an opponent's Level 5 or higher monster, it gains the Attack Points of the monster that it battles!" Lyrical Eagle Dragon consumed an Overlay Unit.

Lyrical Eagle Dragon (OVU: 2→1)

"Battle! Lyrical Eagle Dragon, attack Amazoness Liger!" Lyrical Eagle Dragon charges towards the Amazoness and its wings became golden as it gained Liger's Attack Points. "Golden Sky Drill!"

Lyrical Eagle Dragon (ATK: 2500→5000)

"As long as I control Amazoness Empress on the field…" Gloria said.

"…Amazoness Monsters can't be destroyed!" Grace finished her sister's sentence.

"At this moment, Lyrical Platinum Cloak's effect activates! When a Lyrical monster battles, the effects of all Magic, Trap and Monster are negated!" Ruri revealed.

"What?!" Gloria and Grace gasped. Lyrical Eagle pierced right through Amazoness Empress's barrier and struck down Liger and sending Grace flying and she crashed against the wall.

"Grace!" Gloria cried out to her sister.

Gloria/Grace LP: 8200→5700

"When the attack finishes, Lyrical Eagle's Attack Points return to normal." Lyrical Eagle Dragon's power went down to normal.

Lyrical Eagle Dragon (ATK: 5000→2500)

"But at this moment, I activate Lyrical Luscinia – Green Hawk's Pendulum Effect! When a Lyrical monster successfully destroys a monster in battle, it's allowed to attack once more!" Ruri raised her hand to the hawk and it let out a screech.

Gloria stepped back and gritted her teeth. "And since your Equip Magic negates effects…"

"Go! Lyrical Eagle Dragon, destroy Amazoness Empress! Gold Sky Drill!" Lyrical Eagle charged once more and her effect activated.

Lyrical Eagle Dragon (ATK: 2500→5300)

Lyrical Eagle destroyed Empress Sword and struck her down, creating a shockwave that sent Gloria flying towards her sister.

Gloria/Grace LP: 5700→3200

"Because you no longer have any Amazoness monsters on the field, you're Continuous Trap: Amazoness Hall is destroyed." Ruri pointed out as the Tyler Sister's cards were destroyed.

"Now they can't regain their Life Points." Shun smiled at Ruri's moves.

Gloria and Grace got back on their feet. "I can't believe this…" Grace groaned.

"How are we losing so easily against them?" Gloria got frustrated.

"I set one card and end my turn!" Ruri finished.

"You're losing because you underestimated us." Ruri closed her eyes. "Plus, we have records of every Duel you had against the Spade Branch. You use the same moves every time, so it was easy to find a flaw in it."

"Damn you…" Gloria cursed.

"You have no idea how much pain and suffering you gave to my friends." Ruri glared at the Tyler Sisters. "Now you're gonna feel firsthand the truth strength of the Resistance."

"Because we don't have Amazoness monsters, I can't use my Amazoness Secret Hot Spring to gain back our Life Points. And now we can't gain Life Points every time they summon a monster. Our combination is broken." Grace gritted her teeth.

"Grace, you still have that other card!" Gloria snapped at Grace.

"R-Right. I activate the Continuous Trap: Amazoness Curse Mirror! I can only activate this card during the End Phase of a turn we took Battle Damage. Once per turn, we can reduce Battle Damage to 0!"

Serena/Ruri LP: 3000 (Serena Hand: 3, Ruri Hand: 1)

"I've had enough of this! I'm ending this Duel, here and now! My turn! Draw!" Gloria drew her card. "I activate the Magic Card: Amazoness Fusion! This card allows me to use banish Amazoness monsters from my deck or Graveyard to perform a Fusion Summon!"

"Ruri, get ready! They're summoning their strongest monster!" Serena turned to her partner.

"I know." Ruri nodded.

"From my Graveyard, I fuse Amazoness Empress and Amazoness Pet Liger! Empress of the female tribe! Become one with the mighty beast of the tribe and achieve the apex of power! Fusion Summon! Appear! Level 10! Amazoness Marshal (ATK: 3200, LV: 10)!" Gloria brought out a strong woman with multiple war medals on her armor and she wielded a large sword.

"When Amazoness Marshal is Fusion Summoned using Amazoness Fusion Monster, all Magic and Trap cards on the opponent's field are destroyed and for each one destroyed, the opponent takes 500 points of damage." Amazoness Marshal swung her sword and they headed for Serena's and Ruri's Magic and Trap cards.

"You have five cards! So, take 2500 points of damage!" Grace smiled as both Serena and Ruri were blown back.

Serena/Ruri LP: 3000→500

"Now it's over! Battle! Amazoness Marshal, attack Lyrical Eagle Dragon!" Amazoness Marshal charged towards the dragon, but suddenly the moon appeared above it and it shined a light that made Amazoness Marshal fall back.

"What?!" Gloria gasped.

"Too bad." Serena spoke. "One of the cards that you sent to the Graveyard has an effect when it is sent to the Graveyard."

"From the Graveyard." Grace gasped.

"The Trap Card: Moonlight Beacon. When an opponent's monster declares an attack, by banishing this card from the Graveyard, the Battle Phase is forced to an end." Serena revealed.

"Damn it!" Gloria cursed.

"Then, by sending all cards in my hand to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon one Moonlight Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck! Appear! Moonlight Dancer Dragon (ATK: 2800, LV: 8)!" Serena summoned her dragon. "But its effects are negated and its Attack and Defense Points are reduced to 0."

Moonlight Dancer Dragon (ATK: 2800→0)

"Damn it…but now you don't have any cards left in your hand. And even if you do use your partner's monster to attack, with Amazoness Curse Mirror we can negate the Battle Damage. When Grace's turn comes, it's over. I end my turn!" Gloria finished her turn.

Gloria/Grace LP: 3200, (Gloria Hand: 1, Grace Hand: 1)
Serena/Ruri LP: 500, (Serena Hand: 0, Ruri Hand: 1)

"My turn! Draw!" Serena drew her card. "Can I ask you something?" Serena looked at Grace.

"Huh?" Grace questioned.

"Why do you want to marry Yuya?" Serena asked, getting everybody off guard.

"Why? Isn't it obvious?" Grace gushed. "He's so strong, cool and brave. He risked his life to save me and my little sister when we were used as experiment in West Academia's Principal Cobra's experiments. It's thanks to him that we're able to work towards the completion of the ARC Area Project and create a utopia for everyone. We'll be heroes just like the legendary Dragon Soldiers."

"Just like the Dragon Soldiers." Serena repeated. "Then let me ask you this. Did the Dragon Soldiers ever finish off their enemies?"

"What's with these annoying questions?!" Gloria was getting annoyed.

"I'm asking if all of this." Serena pointed to the destroyed Heartland. "Is the same thing that the Dragon Soldiers did when they saved you?"

"That's…" Grace was gonna answer until the question set in her head. Gloria also pondered on the question.

West Academia – 5 Years Ago

A younger Gloria and Grace along with a bunch of other children looked to see a 9-year-old Yuya take down Professor Cobra, while Yuto, Yugo and Yuri defeated his top officers.

"You bastards are gonna pay for what you did." Yugo raised his Duel Disk.

"W-Wait…" One of the officers coughed. "Please…I was just following orders."

"That doesn't excuse the actions that you have committed." Yuto raised his Duel Disk as well.

"Please, spare us…I have a wife and a little girl at home." Another officer begged.

"We'll be sure to send you to them in card form." Yuri smiled as he raised his Duel Disk.

"My wife's…expecting…please…" The last officer started to cry.

"Brothers!" Yuya shouted. "Lower your Duel Disks!"

"Yuya, these men committed heinous crimes. They need to be punished." Yuto pointed out.

"And if we let them go, they're gonna start all of this again!" Yugo added.

"The best way to make sure this never happens again is if we end it right here and now." Yuri agreed.

"Brothers…did you forget the oath." Yuya said. "The oath that we all swore to Master Samejima."

"None of us have forgotten, Yuya. Embrace your dreams and whatever happens, protect your honor as a Duelist." Yuto recited.

"I have a dream." Yuya said. "My dream…is for everyone to understand one another." Yuya turned to the defeated Cobra. "I can't forgive Cobra for what he has done, but… I understand why he did what he did. He just wanted to see his son and these men were doing what they could to provide for their families."

"But Yuya, they kidnapped all of these children! They tore apart families!" Yugo argued. "They have to pay the price!"

"They're right." Cobra uttered. "If you spare me, I'm gonna start my project up again. I will see my son again."

"Cobra…what can I do to make you reconsider?" Yuya asked.

"The pain of losing someone you call family is a very harsh pain. If you want to understand my pain, then kill one of your brothers and feel the pain of losing or kill yourself." Cobra said.

"Why you bastard! Yuya would never—" Yugo growled until Yuya raised his hand.

"If that's what it takes to understand you…" Yuya turned his Duel Disk on himself. "Yuto, Yugo, Yuri, if you truly are my older brothers, then please listen to my words. After I'm gone, give these men a second chance to find true happiness. Help Cobra overcome his grief and help him move forward so that he can live as the man that his son looked up to."

Yuya smiled. "I love you all." Cobra's eyes widened as he saw his son overlap with Yuya. Yuya lowered his finger and was about to press the button when a large hand encased his tiny hand.

"That's enough…" Cobra had tears in his eyes. "I understand your dream. Even if it takes the rest of my life…I'm ready to atone for my sins."

Young Gloria and Grace then watched as the Dragon Soldiers were hailed as heroes and even though the West Academia Staff members were punished, they were still able to see their families while atoning for their crimes. The Dragon Soldiers were able to create peace without taking a life.

Tyler Sisters vs Serena and Ruri

"Can you honestly say that everything you've done here is the same as what they did?" Serena asked again and the Tyler Sisters were stumped.

"I don't know Yuya as well as some of the others, but I know that even if he can't forgive others, he still wouldn't take a life." Serena said. "He would give others a second chance to start over and if they would stumble, he would help no matter what! That's the kind of man he is."

"Tyler Sisters." Ruri spoke. "You said before that the Xyz Dimension and Fusion Dimensions are bitter enemies. The old me would have agreed with you. But…Serena is my best friend and if I can be friends with someone from the Fusion Dimension, then everyone can be friends! Serena, show them our bond!"

Serena smiled and nodded. "From my hand, I activate the Magic Card: Fusion! With this card, I can fuse monsters on the field! Since we're sharing a field, I fuse Moonlight Dancer Dragon with Lyrical Eagle Dragon!"

"They're fusing the dragons?!" Yuzu's eyes widened.

"Is that possible?" Rin was surprised as well.

Both Lyrical Eagle Dragon and Moonlight Dancer Dragon flew into the sky before entering the spiraling vortex.

"Dragon that dances in the moonlight!" Serena chanted.

"Dragon that sings with the birds!" Ruri chanted.

"Join together to create the perfect harmony with animals and nature! Fusion Summon!" Serena and Ruri chanted together. "Appear! Level 10! Dragon that leads the Animal Kingdom of the night! Supreme Queen Dragon – Lyrical Moonlight Dragon (ATK: 3300, LV: 10, PS: 1)!" Ruri and Serena brought out a Fusion-Pendulum Monster. Lyrical Moonlight Dragon had pale white skin with silver armor with marks of every single animal in the entire world and she let out a roar.

"It's stronger than Amazoness Marshal!" Grace gasped.

"It's fine! We'll still have Life Points, also we can negate the Battle Damage!" Gloria pointed out.

"I activate Lyrical Moonlight Dragon's effect! Once per turn, it can negate the effects of all cards on the opponent's field and for each card negated, it gains 1000 Attack Points! Flock of Birds!" Lyrical Moonlight Dragon let out a roar and a flock of birds covered Amazoness Marshal and Amazoness Curse Mirror.

"With two cards negated, Lyrical Moonlight Dragon gains 2000 Attack Points!" Ruri smiled.

Lyrical Moonlight Dragon (ATK: 3300→5300)

"Battle! Lyrical Moonlight Dragon, attack Amazoness Marshal!" Serena pointed at Amazoness Marshal and Lyrical Moonlight Dragon charged.

"But we'll still have Life Points!" Gloria pointed out.

"From my Graveyard, I activate the Trap Card: Lyrical Overdrive! When a Lyrical monster attacks or is targeted for an attack, by banishing this card from the Graveyard, that monster's Attack Points are doubled!" Ruri revealed.

"What?!" Gloria and Grace gasped.

Lyrical Moonlight Dragon (ATK: 5300→10,600)

"Gold Moonlight Drill!" Serena and Ruri shouted the attack and Lyrical Moonlight Dragon spun like a drill while releasing a gold moonlight around the area and struck down Amazoness Marshal and making Gloria and Grace fall to their knees in disbelief.

Gloria/Grace LP: 3200→0

Winner: Serena Andersen and Ruri Kurosaki

The entire Duel Lodge cheered loudly as Serena and Ruri won.

"They did it…" Allen was in disbelief. "They won using Fusion."

"Way to go, Serena." Johan praised Serena.

"Not bad." Shun smiled at Ruri.

"We…we lost…" Gloria muttered.

"Yeah…" Grace nodded.

"Hey, where's Yuya?" Serena noticed that Yuya was gone.

Arclight Laboratory

"Are the preparations done?" Bryon asked V.

"Yes, all we need is Yuya." V nodded.

"I'm here." Yuya walked out but he was wearing different clothes. He wore a uniform that was made for battle. It was black shirt with black pants, black boots and gloves with two belts and shoulder pad armor along with a strap around his armpits and behind him was a standard red sword.

"Looking sharp." Aki smiled.

"Are you ready?" III asked.

"Yes." Yuya nodded.

"Alright, start the machine V!" Bryon ordered and V started the transporter and it opened a portal.

"Yuya!"

Yuya turned around to see everyone looking at him. "Everyone…"

"Leave everything to us!" Sawatari shouted.

"You focus on your mission and we'll focus here!" Gongenzaka said.

"Make sure to come back to us! We still have a war to finish!" Dennis said.

"Right." Yuya nodded. He then looked at Yuzu, Ruri, Rin and Serena. He smiled before giving them a thumb up. "This is my promise of a lifetime! I'll definitely come back, end the Dimensional War and go home with all of you!"

"You better!" Yuzu smiled.

"Now go get stronger!" Ruri cheered.

"Don't be surprised if we win without you!" Rin stuck out her tongue.

"I believe in you! Dragon Solider Yuya Ryuga!" Serena shouted.

Yuya faced the portal and he started running. "Astral World, here we come!" Yuya jumped through the portal and he disappeared.

Resistance Prison

Gloria and Grace were put in a cell that was next to Momoe and Junko, who were still unconscious. "Hey, Gloria." Grace spoke. "Are we…on the wrong side?"

"I don't know anymore." Gloria admitted. "But either way…we did our mission." Gloria looked at their confiscated Duel Disk with hers beeping.

Academia HQ

Edo looked at three different screens. One showed Yuya disappearing to the Astral World, the other showed Rio fighting more Obelisk Force Soldiers while still protecting Rua and Jonouchi was facing IV.

"This is a good chance. The key players are spread out." Edo stood up. "All troops prepare to embark! Our destination! The Duel Lodge!" Edo pointed at the mark on the map where the Duel Lodge was.

Preview: Yuya has arrived at the Astral World to begin searching for the power to defeat Academia. While, there he comes across some trials to see if he really is pure of heart. Meanwhile, Jonouchi tries to get through to IV, who is determined to show Jonouchi his ultimate fanservice. Also, Edo and Kaiser launch a full-on assault on the Duel Lodge.
