Bo

The succubus watched in awe and love as Lauren went from room to room trying to get ready for her first day at her clinic. She took a deep breath every time Lauren looked frantic. "Lauren, it is okay. You will be fine. Everything will be fine." She smiled when the doctor stopped and looked from one direction to another.

Lauren sighed and bowed her head. Bo stood and walked over to the coat rack. There she found what Lauren needed last, her lab coat. She smiled at the crisp feel and scent as she walked behind Lauren. "Let's put this on."

"It is mine, Bo. My clinic." Lauren whispered.

"Hey! You can scream it as loud as your voice can go. This is your clinic. This is your day!." Bo adjusted the lab coat and walked around to inspect the doctor's appearance. "Beautiful."

"Bo." Lauren looked up.

"I know, sweetie. I know." Bo squeezed her and let go. "Can't be getting that dirty before you walk into your doors."

"I feel happy and terrible at the same time." Lauren spoke softly.

"Hey, talk to me." Bo pulled the blonde's hands into her own.

"I am leaving you here. Your office isn't open yet. What will you do? Where will you go?." Lauren asked.

"Well, the first place I am going is driving you to the clinic. The second, third, fourth and fifth? I don't know but don't worry about me, Lauren. I couldn't be more happy or proud of you. You finally get to be a doctor on your terms, again. This is your time. My time will come. Then you can calm my nerves." Bo half smiled and kissed the woman's knuckles.

Lauren smiled and let Bo hold her for a good while before they both pulled back. "At least go see Aife? Do something so that I know you won't be sitting looking at the four walls or tv."

"Oh, that won't happen. I will find something to do." Bo looked around the room and thought for a few minutes before she spoke again. "I am thinking about taking cases by myself. That way I really can control my hours and who I take on as clients. I would ask mom to be my partner but she doesn't believe in working."

"I will support you no matter what you decide. I just don't want you feeling like I'm leaving you behind or feel that you have to stick to the house all day." Lauren held Bo's head in her hands.

"I don't feel that way. You shouldn't feel that way either. Go work your 9 to 5. I will work the same hours and then we will be with each other until the next work day." Bo squeezed Lauren's hands and looked at the clock just over the blonde's shoulders. "I am fine, Lauren. I really am. You are going to be late if we stand here any longer."

"Oh, let's go then." Lauren looked at her watch and grabbed her medical bag. Bo smiled and took it from the shaking hands that held it. "I got it."

Lauren nodded, turned around once more and turned back to walk out of the house as Bo locked it behind her. She stood at the top of the stairs and blew out a breath. "You're just going to work. Knowing your job. Not as a newbie." Bo rubbed Lauren's back and they both walked down the stairs. Step for step, they went.

Bo held the door open as Lauren climbed in. Her hands were still shaking and the succubus gently squeezed both of them. "I can drive you to work. I can kiss you as you climb out of my car but I cannot do your brilliant job for you. You, my heart, will have to do the rest yourself. This is all yours. Your clinic to run. Your staff to oversee. Your patients to treat. Your clock to punch out and come home."

"Home." Lauren laughed.

"Yeah, home. Our home." Bo laughed as she pulled out into traffic. The streets were a little crowded but nothing she couldn't get through and not get Lauren there on time.

"I love you, Bo. I love you so much. We have come so far in such a short amount of time but time is something I will cherish forever with you." Lauren smiled wide at the succubus.

Bo smiled just as wide as she gently patted the blonde's knee. "Lauren I love you too. Just as much. You could have told me to fuck off that night. But here we are loving each other. Living together. Just about everything that couples do." Lauren rubbed her sleeves and smiled. "That's right, babe. Enjoy it. All of it. Not dying patients but everything that you love about being a doctor."

"I will and I do. I enjoy it. Helping people. Healing those that I can. Giving them another shot at life that their injuries crippled them from." Lauren watched the view in front of them. Cars were moving faster.

"Just like we got another shot at love. We owe it all to my succubus. She knew how I felt long before I could officially say the words." Bo felt Lauren's eyes on her and blushed at the thought.

"I will be home in eight hours. I have enough staff and a second that knows how to take over when it is my time to go. That's what I need to get used to. I didn't have that with the Fae. I was basically on call twenty-fours a day. I couldn't say no to a fae patient. Although many fae patients said no to my appointment requests and test results for those that did come. Although I don't expect it, you and Aife will be treated whenever you need to be. But since you are both succubus I don't suspect that will happen too much and often." Lauren spoke in a tone Bo knew was her getting her work voice ready.

"Kissing you will heal any and everything in me. Mom can find her own source to heal from but I doubt she will ever be that wounded." Bo frowned as she made her last turn. They are half a mile from saying goodbye. She cleared her voice at the last block and pulled up in front of the building. She let go of the stick shift and kept her eyes forward. "I am going to hate this part." She half laughed.

Lauren gently touched her chin and turned Bo's face towards hers. She leaned forward, took one last look and kissed Bo. Tongues danced violently against each other. Bo moaned at the tip of Lauren's tongue circling in her mouth. Then the blonde pulled back. "I will see you later. This is not a goodbye. It will never be a goodbye."

"See you later, Dr. Lewis." Bo smiled as their foreheads touched and closed her eyes when Lauren pulled away. She opened them again and watched the woman walk to the building, unlock it, turn back to her, blew a kiss and turned back to walk in.

Bo followed Lauren's suggestion and went to Aife's. She waited outside long enough for the succubus to be up and about. It gave her time to breathe and decide if she wants to be a PI by herself. She could and it wouldn't have to be violent like their old cases. She could investigate cheating spouses or lovers. Missing family members. Cases along that nature. She may never need her sheath or blade again if she takes those kinds of cases. No body's for Lauren to determine the cause of death. But she loves thinking of a reason to see Lauren in action working on a dead body or even a wounded, breathing one. She jumped when something pounded on her car hood. It was Aife waving.

"Good morning." Bo smiled as she climbed out of the car.

"Good morning. You could have knocked. I have been up for hours." Aife laughed.

"I didn't know that." Bo shoved her hands in her pockets.

"Missing the doctor already, huh?." Aife smiled.

"Yes and not knowing what I want to do now that I dropped Kenzi as a partner." Bo blew out a deep breath.

"I hope you haven't come here with the intent of asking me to be your partner. You know I hate working." Aife pulled Bo inside.

"No. I know that. I just need to decide what I am going to do with the rest of my life besides love Lauren." Bo dropped down to sit on the couch.

"Take non violent cases. Don't give up on your career because one partner fell through." Aife offered Bo a drink and the succubus took it.

"I thought of that just a few minutes ago. It sounds safe and not overbearing and time consuming like the old Fae cases. I would be able to work and go home. I don't know if I should hire a maid to clean and cook without talking to Lauren about it first." Bo leaned back and put her feet up.

"Oh hell, there's no way Lauren Lewis will like someone cleaning her house and cooking food for her too. Maybe your hours could be earlier than hers and you can get home and cook dinner." Aife sat across from Bo.

Bo leaned forward. "This is the life I have always wanted. The life I always dreamed of. Normal. The eight hour thing. Coming home to someone. But I never thought I would fall for a doctor. That's scary and frightening. Scary because she knows so much and frightening because getting her to wind down sounds like a part-time job on top of the full time I will eventually work."

"You're a succubus. I'm amused you actually said get someone to wind down." Aife laughed.

"We are more than what we do in bed. I want us to be anyway." Bo shrugged.

"I was teasing you, sweetie. Sounds like you are aiming to carry everything when you don't have to. Let Lauren carry some of it. She probably has answers for every question that you could come up with. Get out there and look. Find what you want to do. I am sure there's no rush for you to be working right now. You have me too. I don't work for shit but I can get you anything that you need." Aife finished her drink and set the glass down.

"Thank you for getting Lauren's clinic set up so quickly or she'd be like this. Wondering when the work will come." Bo gestured around her body.

"Your work is out there. Torn families. Bad marriages. Missing family members. It is all out there. But should the need to kick ass surface again, kick them and move on to your next case. You are very fortunate, Isabeau. You live in both worlds at the same time because you care. You care about humans. You care about righting wrongs. Not all fae care like that. That's why you and the doctor are a damn perfect fit. Because she's human, knows about your nature and world and loves you regardless. That's rare." Aife stood and stretched.

Bo nodded and stood. "I guess I should get going. I need to check this building out and see how big my desk needs to be."

"Okay. Let's go." Aife pulled her sunglasses over her eyes and gestured for Bo to walk out. She climbed into Bo's car and sat back. "I have never aspired for the life you have but it's nice and different to see."

"Humans can have terrible lives. I know that from the Dennis household and Kyle's death. The fae can have terrible lives. I almost lost mine when I was ready to throw what Lauren and I had built up until then away. It is time to do the work and make her as happy as she makes me." Bo smiled.

"So, be your own boss and partner. Party when you want. Sleep when you want. Date when you want. Go to bed when you want. Do all of that with Lauren and you will never be without something to do or somewhere to be." Aife adjusted her glasses and smiled.

"Let's get the office checked out and grab some lunch." Bo sped up and the older succubus loved the speed.

The Dal.

Dyson walked in to the sounds of Trick and Kenzi going back and forth. "I will pay for her meal, Trick."

"At least someone will." Trick sighed.

"So, still broke huh?." Dyson threw some money on the counter as he sat next to Kenzi.

"I slipped because I was tired. Why was I tired? Because I was hungry? Why was I hungry? Because I haven't worked in days!." Kenzi snapped.

"Well, eat your food and find a room to sleep in. Just don't pick one that's already occupied." Dyson took a sip of beer and set the bottle down.

"Eww." Kenzi shrieked. "Sounds like Krueger or worse."

"Yeah. These guests won't let you sleep much." Dyson nodded and looked behind him. The pool tables were empty and he was ready to play.

Kenzi bit into her pancakes and moaned at the taste. Food. She smiled wider when the sausage and eggs came.

"Fast food. Housekeeping. Errands. Those are all jobs you should qualify for." Dyson spoke over his shoulder.

"Don't be a dick just to be a dick." Kenzi spoke with her mouth full of food.

"Stop mooching and I wouldn't have to be." Dyson shrugged.

Kenzi spit her food out and didn't clean up the mess. "Aren't you mooching off of Trick? Where is the last woman your wolf mated with? Did she even exist or has your ass always been taped to Trick?."

"Stop it!." Trick screamed.

"I simply offered her advice. We don't have to work, she does." Dyson growled. "Too bad we can't give her back to Bo. Bo's the one that brought her into this world."

"Too bad you can't give it back to Bo, huh? The knife cuts both ways." Kenzi drank some water and cleaned up her mess.

"Get out of my bar with your antics!." Trick screamed.

"You heard him, human. Get out of his bar." Dyson smiled.

"Say that shit again, and I will kick your balls myself." Kenzi walked towards the wolf but Trick stopped her before she reached him. "Go, Kenzi, please."

"I'm going." Kenzi spat and pushed off of the old man.

"Was that really necessary?." Trick asked.

"She's lazy, Trick. She will stay here thinking we owe her the world. I thought you wouldn't want her in here panhandling every day." Dyson took a shot and the ball bounced on the table.

"Any word or location on Bo?." Trick asked.

"She's eating with Aife. That's all that I know." Dyson replied.

Trick took a seat. "She's never coming here again, is she?." He asked more for himself than any answer that Dyson could give him.

"Well, who set that damn rule that we aren't allowed in Lauren's clinic? We could get close to Bo that way." Dyson replied.

"I'd thought without your mate, you wouldn't be interested in her like that anymore." Trick looked up.

"I'm not. But she's still a good friend, when she wants to be." Dyson walked around the table and took another shot.

"Good. Good. I need you like this, should push come to shove." Trick nodded and stood.

"Shove? Who's coming for you, Trick?." Dyson stopped in his tracks.

"Nobody that I know of. It's just the fae won't too much like seeing a human clinic in their territory. A clinic that won't treat them. I may need your muscle to stave off plans of future attacks, there." Trick explained.

"Are you kidding me, Trick!? You want me to stay on standby to protect Lauren's clinic? To help Aife even though she helped the Norn steal my mate with Bo?! I can't be hearing you right!." Dyson tossed his pool stick down on the table.

"Don't be so short-sighted. This won't be helping Lauren. It will be helping to keep peace in the colony and mate or not, Bo is still my granddaughter and my blood. Don't let that get lost in your delusions." Trick looked at Dyson before walking behind the bar.

"I can't believe this. I have to fight for the women that took everything from me." Dyson walked over and yanked a beer from behind the bar.

"If you want to stay my second, you will get used to it or find another way to look at it. I just explained it to you in black and white. You can't forget who I really am. That's why everything must remain peaceful." Trick looked down the bar in Dyson's direction.

"Fine." Dyson sat and nearly rolled his eyes. Lauren is getting everything and he gets nothing but the humiliation of helping her keep everything.

"You were fond of Isabeau. Help me protect her granddaughter and her interests. It would make my wife happy if she was here to see it." Trick spoke softly.

"For the Queen, only." Dyson toasted the air and downed his beer.

Bo and Aife.

Bo rubbed her stomach and pushed her plate away. She looked out at the cars passing by and turned back to her mother. "I know you don't believe in working but I have a proposition of sorts, for you."

"Yeah, what's that?." Aife asked.

"I thought of a way I can stay close to Lauren and do my job too." Bo leaned forward.

"I'm listening." Aife leaned forward.

"I need your ears more than anything. You know these people Where they hang out. What they are up to. What they like and don't like to do. I want you to find out what the word on the street is regarding Lauren's clinic. The Fae can't be too happy about it. I want to get ahead of them before they try to get a hold of her." Bo explained.

"You're right. I don't work but my ears have ears and I am currently waiting on that word to get back to me." Aife smiled.

"Good. Then we bust balls and asses." Bo leaned back and toasted her mother.
