Chapter 9

Finally, the Loud parents and sisters are on their home way from the mall. But it's not a comfortable experience as their parents have become shorter and younger.

Lucy: "Lincoln, was right…" (Starts to shake in fear): "Watching Mom and Dad become younger was freaky."

Fortunately, they made another trip to Reiningers to buy their parents more clothes and got haircuts at the hair salon: For Lynn Sr., his hair is cut and styled as it would be on school picture day. And he's wearing a nice button, short sleeve, green plaid shirt, tan khakis, white socks, and blue sneakers on his feet. Rita's hair is cut shorter and put into a ponytail with a big red bow holding it in place. Her outfit is a nice red t-shirt with a book on it, a jean skirt, and for shoes, her feet are rocking shiny gold ballerina flats.

Lynn Sr. (With a raised brow): "So…where are we going?"

Luan (Looks over at her dad): "Home."

Rita: "Home?"

Lori: "Our home..."

Rita: "Will my daddy be able to pick me up from there?"

Lola: "Ummm…" (Looks away): "Sure…"

Leni (Takes out her phone): "I'll just give Pop-Pop a call."

Luna: "Augh…" (Takes the phone away): "No need for that sis."

Lana: "So…how old are you guys now?"

Lynn Sr.: "I'm ten years old."

Rita (Excited): "No way! I ten too."

Lynn Sr. (Starts to blush): "Wow! Small world."

Lynn (Whispers to Luan): "Not going to lie. But that is cute. Seeing little Dad crushing on little Mom."

But this causes Luan to blush in embarrassment.

Luan: "Lynn…"

The bus driver (Picks up and starts to speak into his microphone): "Okay everyone…" (Annoyingly rolls his eyes): "Due to the hour delay at the mall, we'll have to skip a few stops to keep up with the schedule. So, if anyone of you, lives or needs to stop in the housing area of Royal Woods, then your chance to get off is at Royal Woods Public Park. Cause this bus is nonstop again until we hit the leaving sign.

Lori: "Augh!" (Rubs the bridge of her nose): "At least we can take a shortcut through the park." (Checks out her phone): "I wonder how Lincoln and Lisa are doing."

Unfortunately, although Lori sent Lincoln and Lisa a text message asking for an update on the research, there's been no response within the past two to three hours! At least Lori and her family don't have much of a long way to go to get home. Until…they reached the playground, where we see Rita and Lynn Sr. having a ride on the swings.

Rita and Lynn Sr.: "Wee!"

Luna (With her sisters): "Mo…I mean Rita, Lynn, what are you dudes doing?"

Lynn Sr.: "We're having fun!"

Rita: "Come and join us!"

Lori: "But we don't have time to play now. We need to get home, remember?

Lynn Sr.: "Come on…" (With big puppy dog eyes): "Just for ten minutes? Please?!"

Rita (Mimics the same technique): "It's been so long since my daddy took me to the playground!"

Lori (Can't say no to faces like that): "All right…all right…but just for ten minutes."

Lynn Sr., Rita, and some of the younger Loud Sisters: "Yay!"

Of course, ten minutes turn into an hour and a half. Especially when more kids came along, where they play a huge, game of hide and seek, freeze tag with Lori being it…

Lori (Chasing after Lynn Sr. and another boy): "You can't get away!"

Boy: "Just come and do it than Lady!"

Lori: "Excuse me?! The name is…" (Starts to run out of breath): "Lo…ri." (Stops and falls on the grass): "Whew!"

Before long, the Loud Sisters had to chip in to buy their parents and all the kids ice cream when the ice cream truck came around.

Lucy (Can't eat her ice cream): "I'm…too tired to eat."

Boy (Grabs it): "I'll eat it."

Luan: "How could Mom and Dad keep up with all of us when we go to the park?"

Lola: "I don't want to think about it. I just want to go home now!"

Lori's Phone: "Beep!"

Lori (Looks at her phone): "It's from Lincoln." (Opens the messaging app): "Finally!" (Starts to read): "Lori…whatever you do, don't let Mom and Dad have any more sugar! Eating sugary food is what causes them to degage."

All the kids that tagged along (Start to run away in terror): "Ahhh!"

Lori (Looks down at her parents): "…" (Responds to her brother's text): "Too late…will be home in 15 to 20 minutes. Go get some clothes for Mom and Dad from the attic. Anything that could fit a toddler." (Hits the sent button and puts the phone away): "Let's go…"
