Chapter Two: The Coronation of King Steven Aquarius of Atlantide.
Steve stood in his chamber waiting for the moment that he was to be crowned King. The palace had an assigned room for small low ranking or temporary coronations, and one specifically reserved for grand coronations like the one that Steve was going to have. It was also used for mass meetings of royal families and weddings from time to time when there wasn't a coronation to worry about but that was rare.
Right now he was thinking more about how his and Carly's relationship was going. Ever since the second phase of the war it was a well-known fact that they had some rough patches in their relationship because of Tomas's tampering. But after he and his wife were delt with the relationship between the two royal high school sweethearts had improved heavily. After Carly moved in with her children that only seemed to be more true. For one Carly was a lot less stressed than when she was living back in her kingdom. For one, she didn't check her phone has often and was more relaxed while on dates. A good sign that she was growing to trust Rosalie and the rest of the palace staff that bore the royal crest.
There was a knock on the door and the king to be gave his consent for whoever it was to enter his chamber. It turned out to be his loyal hand butler, Clyde Dalton who was a man in his early twenties with jet black hair and Sapphire blue eyes. He wore the same uniform that all butlers wore at work in the palace which consisted of a white button up shirt, blue vest and matching trousers with brown boots and white gloves.
"Good morning sir, it's time for you to head down for the coronation." The young and loyal butler informed with a kind and gentle tone. He had been working here for some time now, his father, the previous head monarch servant of the family and taught his son what he would need to know in order to take his place one day.
"Thank you Clyde. Is everything prepared has per the orders of my father and myself?" The young monarch asked with a smile. This was a big event, so it was important that everything went to, or clous to plan. Afterall there were going to be several royal family both part and not of the Parve Alliance present at the ceremony along with all of Atlantide's noble and rich families. How he conducted himself here today would set the president of what they would expect form him during his reign.
"Yes sir, I personally checked and ensured that only the most trusted of your staff were assigned to this task. I'm sure that the people are eager to except their new king." Clyde assured his master with a calm and friendly tone that set Steve's mind at ease. "Though there is one minor problem. It's the house of Irwin again. Baron Clement is at it again trying to arrange a marriage between his daughter and Prince Lenard. However I'm pleased to in from you that the matter has already been delt by Lord Christoph and his wife along with Clement's own."
"That does please me greatly. Please send them my thanks and tell them I ask that they make it clear to him that I have no interest in arranging a marriage for my son while he is still so young and never will. Furthermore, He will not be entering a relationship with his daughter unless he wish it so. Are there any other complications that I need to be aware of?" Steve ordered softly.
"No sir there are not any at this time to my knowledge. Shall we head down now sir? It wouldn't do for you to be late to your own coronation." Clyde smiled at his master softly. Steve nodded and they made their way to the Coronation room.
Meanwhile in the coronation room Ritchie and Brandon were sitting beside their grandmother waiting for the ceremony to start. They could hear their guild mates talking excitedly barring Mitch, who was just waiting for the ceremony to be over. Suddenly a voice called out from the entrance to the room. "Attention everyone the coronation will be beginning in five minutes. Please put any and all unauthorized electronic device away and please take your seats immediately if you aren't already seated."
The room was big with many people sitting in the chairs and pews that filled the room. It was similar to a church room. However the altar, decorated with turquoise and white was behind the throne that sat on the stage. To the right of those was a shires of thrones of lesser splendor where the rest of the royal family baring, Carly, Charlie, Ruby, and Arianna who would sit to their left where similar thrones sat. Soon enough the three bells tolled and everyone watched as an elderly woman in her late 50's entered the room. Her hair had long turned gray with her eyes still a clear blue.
"Good people of Atlantide, upon this day, we gather to celebrate the beginning of a new era. One brought about by a war that took more then twelve years to end and was ended by the hand of our new monarch his sibling's and cousin, and his brave friends known has The Little Club. All of whom we are blessed by the presence of in these vary moments. In the next fifteen minutes the kingdom of Atlantide shall witness the beginning of a new reign and a new monarch. Do the people except this and what it will mean for the kingdom?" The royal high priest named Constance Livingston called out.
"Yes, we want the new king! We want the new king!" Called out the people of Atlantide. Ritchie and Brandon remembered their own coronation as princes and how the people demanded that they be let back into the care of their aunt and uncle. Both them and the kingdom.
"Then we shall welcome his family and his loved ones to join us in welcoming the royal family and join them in welcoming our new ruler King Steven Aquarius of Atlantide." The Royal Priestess called out with a smile.
The current members of the royal family entered the room with smiles to the royal Atlantide anthem. Leading them was King James and his wife, followed by Stephen, Maria, Carly, and Ruby on the right and Allen, Lenny, Charlie, and Aria on the left. They stopped when they got to the alter area.
The two soon to be former monarchs approached the thrones and sat with grace. The rest of the family then went to the right and Carly and her children went to the left. They were then followed by the rest of the little club as they were the guest of honor and would be joining Carly and her children on the left side has gest of honer.
"His son to be former majesty will now give his final speech on his reign and what he hopes for from his son." The Priestess calls out to the crowd with a smile. James stands and smiles at the royal priestess with a calm and serene smile.
"Thank you all. Throughout these last 25 years I have ruled this kingdom with the grace and discipline instilled in me by my father King Zephaniah Aquarius and his loving wife Queen Hephzibah with you has my subjects. While it has been an honor that I enjoyed heavily there comes a times when the next generation must be allowed to take over for their successors has we do not live forever and new ideas are needed in order for progress to be made in all fields that life presents us. That time for myself and my wife has come, and we look forward to allowing our son to take over as we both feel that the kingdom will be in good care in his hands. I pray that my reign will be remembered has one of good grace and harmony despite the war and political situations that have arisen during it." The elderly king stated calmly. "Now I ask that you will all join me in welcoming the new king in a few moment but first I must abdicate my power so that they may be given to him."
The soon to be former king sat back on his throne and the priestess stepped up to him with a smile. "I, King James Aquarius of Atlantide, here by having completed my service to my kingdom, here by ask that thou in higher powers including thou in the heavenly realms acknowledge thy abdication and when they time come welcome thyself into the afterlife…" He said handing the orb that was in his right hand to the priestess. She took the orb and placed it on the altar behind the thrones.
"I, King James Aquarius of Atlantide, having used my power to rule thy kingdom here by renounce any power I had has king and therefore shall give my scepter to thy successor." He smiled has he gave the scepter in his right hand to the priestess. Who just like with the orb took the scepter to the altar.
Finally, he put his hands on his crown. "I King James Aquarius of Atlantide, here by abdicate thy crown so that it may be given to its successor, has it is a symbol thyself former power in thy kingdom… So that my successor may ware it has a symbol of thy power." He then gave it to the priestess once more who set it on the alter like the other items.
"I, King James Aquarius of Atlantide, abdicate any and all responsibilities to the throne, except for thy responsibility to name and crown thy successor to its power. So that he may be able to oversee his duties to the kingdom from his home." The king said as he got up from the throne for the final time.
Now that he had formally abdicated the throne, his son who would take the throne would enter the room in a few moments to take the throne. When he did everyone turned to see the young monarch to be enter the coronation room with twenty guards escorting him. His father gestured for him to stand in front of the throne.
The now king stood from his throne and raised his hand for silence. Now his son had to give his first speech as king. Steve stood with a proud smile on his face as the kingdom watched him with his friends in the crowd.
"When I was younger, I didn't know what awaited me as the crown prince. Like many young royals in my position I didn't understand at first the power and responsibilities that awaited me until I grew older and while I may still be young I know now the responsibilities that I bear to you, my people. As your new king I vow to do my best to ensure that you can all live your lives in safety and relative comfort without the fear of war of any kind coming to our land. I will also do my best to ensure that the embers that remain from our most resent war remain that, embers for while embers may go out with time if not careful they can cause a spark and ignite another fire. That being said I ask all politicians and others with high amounts of to tread carefully for if you are not careful I cannot help you to prevent the fall out. That being said, however, those who give power to these people must also be careful of who they chose to give it too as well. For your votes will always be the determining factor of how government behaves." Steve paused for a moment before continuing.
"With all of that being said I intend to prevent a repeat of the war by ensuring that the royal line of succession for our kingdom remains clear and untainted by lies that those who wished to take the throne of our ally's royal families by declaring the new line for my first act has king after crowning my heir. Upon declaration of the new line I ask that the people remain salient until the deed is done so that there will be no disputes over the names said. Any complaints may be heard after the ceremony's conclusion. For now however I shall now take up my post has your new king." Steve then took this place at the for front of the throne and his father began to crown him.
The people clapped and James moved to crown his son King of the kingdom and bring forth a new reign with the people watching as their new king was crowded. "I, Former King James Aquarius of Atlantide, do here by name my son, Crown Prince Steven Aquarius of Atlantide my successor. Having done so, I have fulfilled my duties to thy kingdom and now declare, the beginning of a new reign of power." With that the father allowed his son to sit on his new throne. He then looked to the priest and nodded bringing over the orb that he had held a few minutes ago.
"I, Former King James Aquarius of Atlantide, do ask that those who rule over this world from the higher planes hereby accept my choice to name thy son my successor." The priest then nodded and handed the orb to the new king. The former king then moved on to giving the new king his new power has the ruling monarch. Taking the scepter from the butler that had taken it from the priest earlier he turned back to his son.
"I, Former King James Aquarius of Atlantide, having abdicated all power that comes with the throne and crown here by give all power to my successor, Crown Prince Steven Aquarius of Atlantide." Finally, it was time to officially name Steve King. The hall went silent, and Clyde brought over the crown.
"I, Former King James Aquarius of Atlantide, do name thy son, Crown Prince Steven Aquarius of Atlantide, king of Atlantide and form this day forward shall be known has King Steven Aquarius of Atlantide!" The crowd cheered and the royal choir began to sing Atlantide's national anthem with the people in the coronation chamber with a big smile on their face.
Steve smiled as the people cheered and then went quiet. The people clapped and soon the new king moved to do what he set out to do. He called his adopted son forward and placed the old crown that he wore as crown prince on Lenny's head. "I, King Steven Aquarius of Atlantide, do reaffirm that Baron Lenard Aquarius of Atlantide is my heir and from this moment forward till I retire or my death, shall be known has Crown Prince Lenard Aquarius of Atlantide." The people cheered for their new heir to the throne and went silent remembering what they had been asked earlier.
Now was the official announcement for the new line of succession for the throne of Atlantide. Steve smiled happily and began to perform his task. "Has promised I shall now announce the new line of succession… Frist in line is of course my son, Crown Prince Lenard Aquarius of Atlantide, He shall be followed my younger brother Archduke Stephen son of King James Aquarius, my younger brother Duke Aeron Aquarius, Son of King James Aquarius, Viscountess Maria Sagittarius daughter of Duchess Amelia Sagittarius, temporally part and placed in the line is my girlfriend Marchioness Carline Oakwoods, Princess of Magiclica and her children Marquess Charlie, Baron of Magiclica and adopted son of Marchioness Carline Oakwoods, Marchioness Grace Oakwoods , adopted daughter of Marchioness Carline Oakwoods and Baroness of Magiclica and Marchioness Arianna Oakwoods, Baroness of Magiclica and daughter of Marchioness Carline Oakwoods. In the event that our family parishes during my reign the noble house of Bluewater is to take our place has the new royal family of Atlantide."
With that settled the crowd cheered in acknowledgement of the new line. It was pretty much what had been predicted before the coronation so no one could object. After the coronation everyone went to the ballroom to celebrate their new king and the new line of succession that came with him. Little did they know that this was only the beginning of what would be a nine-year-long war. But for now they would celibate to their hearts' content.
