Team Seven were at a local cafe drinking some coffee and eating snacks all wondering why Kakashi had told them to meet there instead of their usual training ground.

"I wonder why Kakashi-sensei told us to meet here. Shouldn't we be training for the exams?" Naruto asked.

"It's true that there is not much time left before the exams." Sasuke agreed.

Just then Kakashi entered the cafe and joined his genin at their table.

"I know you are all wondering why I told you to meet here instead of the training grounds. Well today was the meeting for the Chunin Exams. I have entered you all into the exams. The exams will be held in Tetsu no Kuni. We leave Konoha tomorrow. It will take us about a week to reach Tetsu no Kuni and Testu no Kuni is in the north with snowfall year round. So pack accordingly." Kakashi explained.

"Sweet." Kiba said.

"Now go home and pack accordingly then meet at the main gate tomorrow morning at nine o'clock in the morning." Kakashi said dismissing his genin.

Naruto and Sasuke arrived at the main gate of Konoha to see many more teams, some they recognized and many they did not. Of the teams they recognized they saw teams Eight, Nine and Ten. as the two got closer they saw Neji and Ino talking together.

Naruto knew both of them as they had been his friends in the academy though Ino still had a petty childish crush on Sasuke. As they got closer Ino and Neji turned to face them. Ino was the first to speak.

"Hey Naruto." Ino said before turning to Sasuke. "Hey Sasuke. Um when I heard you were a girl I wasn't sure how to react but now that I see you I must say you are very pretty and what Sakura did was crossing the line."

"Naruto, I heard you mastered your Jukenho. I hope to see it in action sometime." Neji said.

"Thank you Ino I'm just glad no one has tried to hit on me since i came out as my true self." Sasuke said with a slight smile.

"They won't almost everyone in our class is saying that you and Naruto are dating and living together." Ino said.

"They really think that?" Sasuke asked with a slight blush.

"Yea." Ino replied. "Is it true?"

"Well we are living together but we're not dating." Sasuke explained.

"I knew it." Ino said. "Well at least now I know I can actually talk to you on common ground."

"True." Sasuke said.

"So Naruto Neji told me about your skill with the Jukenho. How did you learn the Hyuga Clan's most guarded secret?" Ino asked.

"Hiashi said that he owed a debt to my father but that was it. He wouldn't tell me who my father was though. I mean with everyone claiming to know my parents I know nothing about them." Naruto replied.

"It is very strange to know that your father had a status but with no one talking he was either very famous or the worst criminal to come from Konoha." Neji said in agreement.

"I would just be glad to know who he was. I mean my mom was an Uzumaki and a respected Kunoichi. Jiji said her name was Kushina but there is nothing beyond her ninja file." Naruto said.

"Alright Genin and Jonin Squad Leaders listen up." came a loud voice.

All the shinobi gathered turned toward the voice to find a man beside the Hokage.

"I wish you all the best of luck in your exams. Now it will take about a week for you to reach Tetsu no Kuni and the exams will start one week after you arrive. This down time will be a chance for you to rest from your travels and acclimate to Tetsu's weather. Now the exams will have three phases. Each phase will test your abilities as shinobi and test your limits. Only the proctors know what each phase will be and no one will tell you until the appointed time. Good luck." Hiruzen said.

"Alright maggots time to get moving. We have one week to reach Tetsu no Kuni and we will only stop for meals and rest, no lollygagging." yelled a tall man wearing a black trench coat.

One week later and the genin teams arrived in Testu no Kuni and the gathered genin from Konoha approached the gates of the village and met their escorts around the village. Basically there were a number of hotels that were being provided for the examinees and their jonin at the expense of their home villages. Meals were to be purchased at the examinees' expense.

After checking in at their hotel and dropping off their bags Team Seven left the hotel to find something to eat. As team seven was walking about Naruto heard a voice come from behind him and team seven.

"Is that Namikaze Minato? I thought he was dead."

"He dares show his face here?"

Calm down both of you. He's too young to be Minato though he does look exactly like him."

"Maybe he's Minato's son."

"Then we send his body back to Konoha as a warning."

As Naruto turned around to address the voices he saw a ninja clawed gauntlets coming at him. Naruto quickly jumped up onto a nearby rooftop. He had plenty of experience running from people who wanted to hurt him.

"Get down here and fight Namikaze, we'll send you back to Konoha in pieces, maybe then your old man will regret what he did to Iwa." the young teen said.

"I'm not Minato's son, Yondaime died before he could produce an heir." Naruto tried to explain.

"Then why do you look exactly like him?" the teen asked.

"I don't know." Naruto replied.

Sasuke saw the anger in the teens eyes and looked at Naruto and for the first time she looked at him, really looked at him and her eyes widened when she saw it Naruto looked just like Minato like a carbon copy as if he was a literal clone.

The teen wasn't happy about Naruto's answer to his question and jumped up onto the roof to attack Naruto. However, just as the teen reached Naruto Sasuke intercepted the attack and her blood sprayed onto Naruto.

"You will not harm him." Sasuke said through the pain of having her shoulder cut open.

The teen looked at Sasuke and growled. "What are you, his bitch?"

Glaring back at the teen were two onyx eyes. "Call me a bitch again and you'll regret it. But to answer your question, no I'm not his bitch I'm his friend."

"Then get out of my way unless you want to share your friend's fate." the teen said.

"I think that's enough out of you." came Kakashi's voice from behind the teen and karate chopped the teens neck knocking him out cold. Kakashi turned to the boy's teammates and spoke again. "Take him back to your hotel."

A/N: Hey all Azrael here I hope you all enjoyed this chapter bit shorter than normal but we get our first glance into Naruto's heritage will he learn he is Minato's son before losing control of the Kyubi or will it take him meeting Minato for him to realize he is the son of Konoha's Yellow Flash.

Anyway we haven't seen much in the team dynamics with Kiba replacing Sakura yet but that will change in the near future stay tuned and keep reading.
