Chapter 16; You're all Such Good Pups!
(3 days after The Mission)
(Pups are inside watching T.V. with Ryder)
(Marshall is lying up against Ryder)
(Rocky walks up to Ryder with the newspaper)
Rocky: Well, Adventure Bay sure does love Marshall!
(Rocky hand Ryder the newspaper)
Ryder: (Reading the newspaper out loud) "Marshall's Coming in Hot!" "After a devastating injury that forced him to be immobile for a little over a month, he was quick to return to the line of duty. After being cleared to return to action, it was not long before he was going to be put to the test. A suburban home had caught fire after a log had rolled off the fireplace while on fire and set the house up in flames. Without hesitation, Marshall was ready to go. (Photo left: Marshall awaiting orders from Ryder) With the help of his fellow pups, they were able to rescue a 15-year-old girl named Avery, that was trapped inside the house as well as put out the fire. She said that Marshall is the bravest pup she has ever seen. She also says that at one point, he fell through the roof, where Ryder was there to catch him, and then Marshall helped to clear a path for them to escape. After clearing the entire house of all people, he returned to his truck and continued to fight the fire. (Photo of Marshall breathing heavily while wearing a knee brace and looking out at the crowd) Although Marshall was fresh off of injured reserve, with the knee brace to show it, he showed no sign of injury and was excited to be back in action."
Pups: Cool!
Marshall: Woah! I want to be just like him!
(The pups laugh)
(Ryder pets Marshall)
Ryder: It's good to have you back, buddy! I'm proud of you!
Marshall: (Rests his head on Ryder's leg) Thanks!
Ryder: And I'm proud of you pups too! You helped out when we had a man down. You're all such good pups!
(The pup all howl in joy)
