"Harley, where are you!?" She held her sobs as she heard Bruce urgently yelling for her. She could hear his voice breaking down. "Why? Did I do something wrong?" How much Harley fought to let him know she was right here but fearing to give him that answer he wanted. She peek at the window to him sitting at his stairs. 'Bruce will get over it, he's Batman.' Harley fooling herself when she knew that she saw his tears forming from his eyes, 'I don't want to leave.' forcing herself to stay strong for the both of them.
Harley eyes open wide heavily breathing from her dream, wiping away the tears from her eyes; pressing her phone to stop the alarm she set. She stretch getting up from her bed with a loud yawn. Slowly walking into her living room looking around until she saw Bruce, forgetting about how he now lived with her. She look down and realize that she wasn't wearing much to leave anything to the imagination. Letting out a small yelp of panic quickly she ran into her room. Bruce on the couch didn't know what he saw when he open his eyes from the noise, the television reflection showed a lot.
When she got out of her room she saw Bruce eating cereal, who look amuse at the theme of it as she got closer to the table "And you didn't get me bowl?" He didn't even respond as he gently slid the box that hid her own bowl out of sight, making her smirk. They ate their breakfast enjoying the peace the morning gave them, the crunching echoing as the laughter of the hyenas playing around while they ate. Having such a moment she watch her boys play, her mind didn't stop her bringing the topic of earlier in the morning "You didn't see anything a little while ago Bruce?" Harley asking just in case. Bruce began munching slowly at the sudden question, "Are you talking about what you're wearing in the morning?" She couldn't hold her food causing her to cough as she grab her glass of juice on the side to take a drink, bad idea. Bruce watch her eyes get teary as she might gulp a little to fast still he didn't understand why she forgot "It's not like I haven't you seen you wear anything like that Harley. Use to be less embarrassed about it too." Back then she wasn't self aware about Bruce even enjoying teasing him until she realized 'no, not now.' not allowing herself to stray into that thought, continuing at the cereal as she took another spoonful from her bowl.
She gave a quick look at him to see him staring at her with those eyes he always gave her before. "Almost forgot about our time together, when we shocked everyone in Gotham by becoming a team." He close his eyes to see that image of them, reminiscing along her thinking about the good times. A lot of hardship too. "Do you remember on the roof that night," of course she did, Harley bit her lip in frustration 'When we got careless.' She knew why he wasn't focus that night, letting their guard down. "Bru-." He wasn't going to let her finish because he knew.
"You don't have to apologize for it Harley, not back then and not now." Getting up from the table grabbing at their empty bowls, Harley wasn't going to sit back getting up from her seat to help. "You really didn't mind the speculation about us?" Bruce picking up the sponge, the distance becoming less from her. "Most entertaining articles I've read Harley. Saying how we both collided from out of nowhere to become an efficient team." Their bodies seem to brush against each other as both wash the dishes by hand. The water running as Harley zone out from the electrifying sensation running through her body 'Damn.' Bruce saw her concentrating intensely on cleaning the same plate. She knew he deserve better but every single scenario playing in her head, her own mind saying to do it will make things harder for the both them.
"Hey! We should go outside instead of being stuck in here all day, we can go shopping too." Bruce caught by surprise at her sudden outburst; Accidentally rubbing himself on her hand sending chills at the contact to look at her breathing a little heavy. 'He won't say-.' Bruce didn't even have to think about what she asked him. "Sounds like a great idea Harley." Harley mental whiplash as she felt offended from how quick his response. Watching him walk away from her not knowing why she kept fighting herself now 'That was disappointing.' she'll need to shower first before they start this day.
"Bruce! Can you make some coffee." He walked out the bathroom, moving to let her enter. "The usual?" She touch his chest looking at him with those shining blue eyes. "The usual Bruce, the way you make it."
