(A couple weeks later – Cortex)

Naruto and Sakura were getting closer and closer to a breakthrough on their Nanite project in one of the labs while Cisco ran comms and monitored the police radio. Barry and Frost were on a date when Cisco called up Barry.

"Hey." Barry answered

"Robbery at the convenience store on Brand and Paulson." Cisco said

"Man, come on. Kind of on a date with Frost." Barry responded/whined "Can't the cops get this one?"

"Fine, but when you read in the paper tomorrow about that poor little old lady getting robbed…" Cisco answered before Naruto spoke up

"Cisco give Barry a break he can't be on duty 24/7. Let him enjoy his date with Frost." Naruto ordered causing Cisco to back off and go back to experimenting with a few ideas that he had for seals

(The next day – late morning – S.T.A.R. Labs)

Naruto, Sakura, Caitlin, Barry, and Dr. Wells had seen the news about 'The Burning Man', it was also posted up on all of their screens. Naruto and Sakura were working on their Nanite project as per usual while Dr. Wells, Barry, and Caitlin did their own thing.

"Well, it appears letting Ronnie roam free is no longer an option." Dr. Wells commented from the main console

"He's not even Ronnie anymore. He's Martin Stein walking around in Ronnie's body, kinda like a vampire." Caitlin responded

"Is there a reason that Stein's brain is in control of Ronnie's body, and not the other way around?" Barry asked

"Simple Darwinism, I suspect. A brand-new organism will select the strongest parts of itself in order to survive. Survival of the fittiest." Dr. Wells answered as he wheeled himself around to Barry and Caitlin "In this case, Ronnie's body, Stein's mind. In any event, he badly hurt an innocent man, and we have hunted meta-humans for less then." Before he stopped in front of Caitlin "Caitlin, we need to know that you're on board with what needs to be done here." Causing Caitlin to pause

"How do we find him?" Caitlin asked

"Quentin Quale, the scientist that Ronnie attacked, is a former colleague of Martin Stein. If Martin is indeed in control of Ronnie's body, he may be trying to figure out exactly what's happening ot him." Dr. Wells answered

"What do we know about him?" Barry asked "I mean, I don't even know what Stein looks like." Before Dr. Wells pressed a button on his wheelchair causing a picture of Martin Stein to come up onto their screens

"Martin Stein." Dr. Wells stated causing Barry and Caitlin to turn towards the screens

"That's Stein?" Barry asked "I've seen him before."

"When?" Caitlin asked as Barry got closer and closer to the screen

"On the train, the day the particle accelerator exploded." Barry answered

"Well then, shall we give Ms. Stein a visit?" Dr. Wells suggested before he turned to Naruto and Sakura "Will either of you be accompanying us?"

"Nah, you guys can take this one. If you need me just call me." Naruto answered

"Alright then, who's driving?" Dr. Wells asked

"I will." Caitlin answered before they headed for the S.T.A.R. Labs Van

(Later that day - Evening – S.T.A.R. Labs)

Naruto and Sakura were working on their Nanotech project when suddenly Naruto's phone rang.

"Sir, Caitlin is calling, shall I answer it?" Hagoromo spoke up/asked

"Yes." Naruto answered

"What's up Caitlin?" Naruto asked

"Stein showed up, Barry confronted him, Stein attacked Barry before he slammed him into a wall, then Steing took off flying with Barry holding on, we are chasing them now. We might need you to catch him should Stein throw him off." Caitlin explained "Scratch that, he just tossed Barry off." After hearing that Naruto's suit immediately bled onto him before Naruto disappeared in a flash of yellow

(With Caitlin, Dr. Wells, and Barry)

Caitlin and Dr. Wells watched as Naruto appeared beside Barry taking in his surroundings before he heard Barry scream. Naruto immediately dove down and grabbed Barry by the scruff of his suit before he flew down to the Van that Caitlin was driving dropping him off on the ground.

"I should really teach you how to generate air currents with your arms." Naruto commented as 'Stein' landed a few yards away from them before he prepared to attack Barry only for Naruto to step between them "Stein stop!" causing Stein to stop before he took off flying again

"Well, that was terrifying." Barry commented before Naruto saluted and teleported back to S.T.A.R. Labs in a flash of yellow

(The next day – Mid Morning – S.T.A.R. Labs – Cortex)

Barry and Caitlin had gone out with Ms. Stein to find and bring 'Ronnie' back to S.T.A.R. Labs. They successfully brought him back and now Naruto, Sakura, Caitlin, Barry, and Dr. Wells were gathered in the Cortex debating what to do next. Having access to tool that he hadn't before 'Ronnie' cleaned himself up, trimmed his hair, got a change of clothes, and had a shower.

"Well, we got him. Them. Now what?" Barry asked

"Well, Stein clearly thinks he can separate himself from Ronnie's body using nuclear fission." Dr. Well commented

"What do you think?" Caitlin asked

"What do I think? Is it possible? Theoretically. But splitting an atom and splitting a man are two very different things. Ms. Snow." Dr. Wells answered before Caitlin turned to Naruto

"Can't you do the same thing that you did with me and Frost for Stein and Ronnie?" Caitlin asked causing Naruto to adopt a thinking pose

"I don't know. I have no idea what merged them to begin with so I would have no idea if doing the same thing would work or not. Stein is the expert I say we listen to him." Naruto answered before 'Ronnie' walked out of one of the labs causing everyone to turn their attention to him

"I don't suppose it's necessary to point out you're all staring?" 'Ronnie' asked before he turned to Naruto "What does this young woman mean by 'do the same thing that you did with her and this 'Frost' person'?"

"I created a blank, essentially braindead copy of her body before I transferred Frost's consciousness into the body essentially giving them both their own body. But I had to use her blood as a template for the body." Naruto answered shocking 'Ronnie'

"Our apologies for staring." Dr. Wells said as 'Ronnie' began to walk further and further into the Cortex

"It is remarkable. I feel clearer than I have since the accident." 'Ronnie' said before he turned to Dr. Wells "What did you give me?"

"A cocktail of anti-psychotics, depressants, and mood stabilizers." Dr. Wells answered

"The same formula used to treat dissociative identity disorders." 'Ronnie' concluded before he turned to Caitlin "I assume this was your idea?" Caitln only nodded in response "Very clever, Cait."

"Don't call me that. Only Ronnie can call me that." Caitlin barked, 'Ronnie' only nodded

"My apologizes." 'Ronnie' said

"We'd like to run some tests on you, if you don't mind." Caitlin said

"Of course, Dr. Snow." 'Ronnie' responded in a soft voice before Caitlin headed for one of the labs, 'Ronnie' right behind her

(Half an hour later)

Caitlin had just finished running her tests on 'Ronnie' when Dr. Wells called her over the intercom.

Underlined "Dr. Snow, can we see you for a minute?" Dr. Wells asked before Caitlin walked out of the room where Naruto, Sakura, Barry, and Dr. Wells were waiting

"You okay?" Barry asked as he leaned against the wall

"Yeah, it's just confusing." Caitlin answered

"Well, what isn't confusing is what's happening to him now." Dr. Wells stated "Ronnie's body is rejecting Stein's atoms like a host rejecting a parasite. The resulting instability is causing an exothermic reaction. I worry if his temperature continues to rise, it'll set off a chain reaction."

"And then what happens?" Barry asked concerned/curiously causing Dr. Wells to turn to the both of them

"He could go nuclear." Dr. Wells answered as Cisco walked into the room that 'Ronnie' was in currently taking off the equipment that Caitlin put on him to run her tests before Cisco walked away, opening the door to the room that Naruto and everyone else were in as he closed the door

"That's not freaky at all." Cisco commented causing Naruto to raise an eyebrow "Well not as freaky as you and what you can do but still freaky."

"It seems Ronnie's fight with The Flash has exacerbated the Firestorm Matrix. It's unstable." Dr. Well stated before he began wheeling himself out "Exponentially increasing the rate of fission inside of his body." As everyone followed him

"Well, how long does he have?" Caitlin asked

"If his temperature keeps rising at the current pace…" Dr. Wells said before he turned around to face Caitlin "no more than a couple of hours."

"But you can fix it, right?" Barry asked "I mean, you—you can separate them before it's too late."

"Any attempt we make to separate the two of them could be catastrophic—a nuclear explosion. And a nuclear explosion of this magnitude would level this entire city. Unless…" Dr. Wells explained getting Barry's attention

"Unless what?" Barry asked

"Unless the host body were no longer functional." Dr. Wells answered

"Absolutely not. We are not killing either of them." Naruto said immediately shutting down the idea

"You want to kill Ronnie?" Caitlin asked flabbergasted

"No, I don't want to kill Ronnie. But in this scenario, Ronnie is the host body." Dr. Wells explained

"If you kill Ronnie, you kill Stein. That's two people." Cisco stated

"I don't know how else to stop it." Dr. Wells said "And my guess is that if Ronnie and Professor Stein knew the consequences that we were all facing, they would make the same decision. It's two lives for millions." Before Caitlin turned to Barry, Naruto, Sakura, and Cisco

"Can you give us a minute?" Caitlin asked before Barry, Naruto, Sakura, and Cisco walked away

(Several hours later)

Barry had just arrived to find Naruto , Sakura, Caitlin, and Dr. Wells 'huddled' together.

"Hey. Anything?" Barry asked as everyone turned their attention to Barry

"I have an idea. It's a bit of a Hail Mary, but Cisco and I are going to give it a try." Dr. Wells answered

"Thank you." Caitlin said

"I'll get Professor Stein." Barry said as he turned round to Cisco walking in

"Looking for the professor? Yeah, he's gone." Cisco announced causing everyone to look at one another "Dr. Wells lets get to work on that Quantum Splicer."

(Half an hour later)

Barry had suited up and was ready for when they found professor Stein.

"You guys almost done?" Barry asked as he walked into the lab that Dr. Wells and Cisco were using

"Hang on. Hang on." Cisco responded as he helped Dr. Wells make the quantum splicer

"I found Stein. He's in the Badlands. Middle of nowhere, 30 miles outside of Central City." Caitlin announced as she walked into the lab as well

"Minimum safe distance." Cisco commented

"He's sacrificing himself." Dr. Wells stated

"How much time does he have left?" Barry asked as Cisco looked at the clock

"12 minutes." Cisco answered as Dr. Wells put the finishing touches on the quantum splicer

"And done." Dr. Wells announced as he took the part that he just modified and attached it to another causing whirling sound

"What is it?" Barry asked

"This is a Quantum Splicer." Dr. Wells answered

"Will it work to separate them?" Caitlin asked

"We'll know in 12 minutes." Dr. Wells answered before he extended the Quantum Splicer out to Barry "Now, Barry, even you can't outrun a nuclear blast, so you get this device to Professor Stein, and you get out of there as fast as you can." Only for Caitlin to grab it

"What are you doing?" Barry asked

"I'm going with you." Caitlin stated as she grabbed her jacket only for Barry to go after her

"No, you're not." Barry said

"It's too dangerous!" Dr. Wells said

"Barry doesn't know how to operate the splicer." Caitlin said defending her decision

"Cisco's gonna talk me through it." Barry pleaded

"There's not enough time. Let's go." Caitlin said

"Guys, relax. I'll come to contain the blast." Naruto said before his suit bleed onto him before he turned to Barry

"Go!" Dr. Wells ushered

"See you there." Naruto said before he sped out of the room as Barry picked up Caitlin and followed suit

(11 minutes later – Badlands – 30 miles outside Central City)

Naruto and Barry had arrived at basically the same time as Barry let put Caitlin down to see 'Ronnie' putting a pistol to his head.

"Professor Stein!" Barry called out getting 'Ronnie's attention

"What are you doing here? You can't be here! Get her out of here now!" 'Ronnie' pleaded as Naruto created 3 shadow clones all clad in the same suit he was wearing shocking 'Ronnie'

"Please, look, Ronnie's still in there somewhere." Caitlin pleaded as he made her way over to 'Ronnie'

"All those people—Clarissa—I won't let them die. It's better I end this now." 'Ronnie'said

"We can separate you!" Barry said getting 'Ronnie's attention "We can stop the explosion."

"And I'm here to contain it." Naruto announced as each of the 3 shadow clones took up positions creating a triangle as the original Naruto flew up above 'Ronnie' and hovered above him

"How?" 'Ronnie' asked

"A Quantum Splicer. It's a fission device designed to bombard your atoms with as much energy as they experienced in the particle accelerator explosion. Should be enough to separate you." Caitlin explained "Please. Professor, you have nothing left to lose." As she placed the Quantum splicer on 'Ronnie's chest before she looked up "Ronnie, if you're in there, I love you." Before 'Ronnie' pulled Caitlin into a kiss before he pulled away

"That was from him." 'Ronnie' stated causing Caitlin to smile

"I look forward to meeting you in person, Professor." Caitlin said before she pressed a button on the Quantum Splicer causing multiple straps to extend moments before 'Ronnie' caught fire

Naruto and his clones immediately activated their Rinnegan along with their Preta Path just as 'Ronnie' went nuclear. Barry and Caitlin watched in awe as Naruto contained the nuclear blast and began absorbing it, Dr. Wells, and Cisco watched from the satellite feed.

"Amazing." They all said
