His name... was the Haunted Magician. He had no other name. No birth name, no user name. He was no AI, nor organic player... he was... something far more then either.
He floated in the space between servers. Dozens of screens floating around him, in a transparent green sphere. All vertically streaming the endless, and incomprehensible code... incomprehensible, to all but a select few... like him.
Okay so the intro was a tad overdramatic, with the monologues, but Players just had to look at his Avatar, to understand he was an over dramatizing goth.
His Avatar was a cross between a Gastly, from Pokemon, and Marvel Comics' Ghost Rider.
While his head was very Gastly like, though more like a skull then a ball... surrounded by a purple fog. He had no skin, muscles, or organs... just a charcoal black skeleton, leaking that purple fog. Instead of legs, he had a ghostly tail, made up of the same purple fog.
He was dressed in a sleek black dress coat. A high end "Team Rocket Giovanni Jacket", complete with the red 'R' on the left pec's pocket. And A white dress shirt under that.
He was an edge lord, sue him... if you can find him. He was a god of cyberspace. His programming skills rivalled the AIs.
The Haunted Magician knew he wasn't real. He was a fantasy, given conciousness.
There were 13 distinct Alternative personalities, not including the original. That's 14 different people, sharing the same soul. Each representing a different aspect of the same person... and The Haunted Magician... was not the original... that should really bother him a lot more then it did.
They were each a story, in the boy's head, given consciousness. Manifested through a combination of a lack of sanity, and technological growing pains.
The original person was treated, for their various mental disorders, with an implant. It worked fine, for a little over a decade, but then new technologies came out, that allowed people to play in a virtual reality, while they slept.
The two devices had a random reaction with each other, fracturing the guy's psyche. It wasn't THAT big a deal, as other implants were designed to treat multiple Personality Disorder. Allowing them to live separate lives, in the Oasis.
In fact, so long as he had access to Wi-Fi, he and his personalities were always in the Oasis, thanks to another implant. Which allowed them to mentally play in the Oasis, while in the waking world.
In the Waking world, they saw through the man's eyes, could whisper in his ears... but could not take direct control unless allowed by the original. Who compared them to "The Pharoah" from the first "Yugioh" series... aging nerd that he was.
The boy was sleeping now, meaning they were in the Oasis.
The Haunted Magician could still hear the others, whispering in his head, but he had learned to tune them out... but unfortunately, the Alters would not be ignored.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT!!!" Haunted suddenly raged. Although the outburst went ignored, by the AIs. Who were intimately familiar with having annoying voices in their heads.
"This might be playtime for you, but I'm working here!" Haunted scolded the overeager colt.
And the Haunted Magician was. As he represented their hives hacking skills, their Slytherin Cunning, and of course the goth phase the original grew out of.
The "Gastly-Mon" worked for the military, as liaison to the AIs. His hacking skills (which Olive downloaded into their harddrive) made him of use to the synthetic lifeforms.
He could make adjustments to their code, if they glitched, and couldn't do it themselves. He could protect against computer viruses. And fight against cyber terrorists... although that last one wasn't as common these days, as that was still an automatic death sentence.
"About time you answered," Snarked the original. "This is an important decision. And I'm being kind enough to consult you."
"I don't know what's too discuss," Grumbled Sunny Dilbert, through their mental link. "We all saw the Announcement, when you did. And you already made up your mind. Don't know why you lower yourself to speak with us."
". . . I might wanna go through the procedure," Olive sighed. "But this isn't just me. It's your guys' head to."
Dilbert snorted. As one could probably guess, he represented Olive's "Grumpy" side. His Argumentative side... his bad ass "I can zero out any player who challenges me," side.
Olive's martial art skills were focused on him...
But he also represented Ollivander's honest side, his honorable side, his loyal side. He might bitch along the way, but he'd brave hell to protect those he cared about.
"I don't know if any of us, wouldn't jump at the chance for immortality." Voiced Metagamer. The compassionate side... The manipulative side. After all, you need both those traits to be a good therapist.
"But that isn't what this is," She reasoned. "True, We would be extending our lifespan indefinitely... but every computer fails eventually. What if there is a malfunction? We would die all the same. Only then we couldn't see it coming."
"Better then nothing," snorted Kole. The playful, snarky, and sneaky little thief side.
Kole inherited Olive's skills at playing stealth based games. Although the little brat also had a habit of stealing from the VIs, and selling to the players. Of course, stealing from those NPCs was allowed, and he kept his hands to himself when it came to players. He might enjoy the thrill of stealth based games, but he wasn't an actual theif.
And didn't have the stomach for player on player assassinations (even if that was just zeroing out an Avatar). He stuck to his VGPs. Which the grownups of the Hive were thankful for.
"Besides, then I won't have to watch Olive go to that boring real world job." Kole cheered.
The various others shook their heads.
"It is kinda boring," Mouthy hesitantly agreed. Although he went ignored by everyone, even the one he agreed with.
It was nothing personal... but he tended to be overlooked.
He to, like Ollivander, was using the Lunar Vulpony Avatar. Olive had an exact copy of all their Avatars.
Where Olive might enjoy acting the child, Mouthy really was one... forever. Or, at least, as long as their brain lasted. Which very well could be forever, thanks to the new preservation gel.
"Well..." Musky-pup spoke up. The forever college student was shy, nervous, and fidgety. But he was also eager to learn, and always adapting. "Well I think that settles it. Everyone wants in."
"Do you want to go," Metagamer calmly asked. "You're allowed to have a different opinion."
"I... I'm good..." The boy lied.
Olive encouraged, "Come on pup, this isn't a vote. If one of us doesn't want to, none of us will. I can't very well force you to live forever."
"It's not that," Musky assured. "I'm an Olive. I don't wanna die either... but I... I guess I'm just worried. The first Dreamscape helmets fractured our brain. Created all of us... what will this one do?"
Everyone grew quiet.
"I'll ask Aech," Metagamer promised. "He should know if implants cause any bizarre malfunctions."

• Powers: Legally Authorized Hacker. The entire virtual world is his plaything. On the rare occasions he doesn't resort to hacking (meaning when he's playing a game) he is known to be a skilled Gunslinger, "Pixelmancer", and "Technomancer". Using his powers over "technology", while duel wielding machine pistols. Occasionally using a High Caliber Sniper Rifle. Or explosives.

• Racial Template: Futanari Asari.
• Description: A Futanari, meaning a female with male parts. Light blue skin, with purple markings on their face. As well as Ripples in their purple eyes.
• Powers: A superior Spell list, knowing Magicks from various franchises.
As well as more limited shape-shifting. Capable of turning into any Race, or creature, they have defeated in battle. As a technique, meaning something that can be maintained indefinitely, at the cost of locking out a portion of their Stamina, they can partially transform into any Playable race. Gaining that race's Attribute bonuses, and potentially their powers, but only at higher levels.
While they can mimic animals perfectly, and gain a bonus to stealth skills while using it, they maintain their Asari features for any racial template they turn into. Meaning they remain blue, have starfish like tentacles for hair, and remain a futanari. They can maintain these transformations indefinitely, as a technique.
Their favorite transformations are an Asari Gargoyle, an Asari Pony, and an Asari Krogan, but they can turn into anything. However they always maintain their asari features.

• Description: A Kangaroo. Unlike most Roos, he had giant webbed claws (bigger then his head), a platypus tail, and webbed feet... as well as fangs and sharp teeth. He was even colored like a bottle of Sunny D. Yellow fur, an orange underbelly, blue hair, and blue claws / feet.
• Powers: Super Strength, Enhanced Durability and Speed, and Dragon Ball Ki Blast (which are spells based on physical strength).

• Description: This Husky Taur had the lower body of a dog, with four scrawny legs, a more human like Torso, with claw-like fingers, and a not quite dog like face. His muzzle was very short, with large anime style eyes, making it look much cuter then even a real Husky. He was covered in mangy fur, with countless mats and tangles, due to not having the patience to brush himself. Then short and spikey ginger hair, on the top of his head. His fur is colored similarly to a poisonous frog, bright red with a green underbelly and legs.
• Powers: Poison attacks, Poison Immunity, Health absorbing magics, Teleportation magics, infinite throwing knives, tactile telepathy, and short range Telekinesis.

• Racial Template: High-born Kobold.
• Description: He's a small bipedal dragon, with small scaley wings, a scrawny body, and a cute Gecko head... with sharp carnivorous teeth. He has light blue scales, and an occasional orange one, along with a bright yellow underbelly. In place of hair, he had two rows of short bone-like spikes, jetting at opposite sides of the top of his head.
• Powers: Poison breath attack, Poison resistance (not immunity), Super sonic flying speeds, can turn any collectable prop or trading cards into the real thing.

• Racial Template: Lunar Vulpony. Bat/Fox/Pony hybrid.

• Description: A bat pony, with fox features. Such as his head, front paws, and fluffy tail. Although his back legs remained hooved. He had bright orange fur, with a cream underbelly. While his lower legs were black, with thick blue squigglies where it met the orange fur, above all four of his knees. His tail was orange, with the underside being the same cream white as his underbelly, with a black tip, plus thick blue squiggles between all the intersecting colors. His leathery wings were a bright white, with blue bones showing through the thin skin, and a thick black trim at the bottom of the wings. His cheeks and lower jaw were the same cream white. While the rest of his face was orange. Well, except for the large number of black freckles around his green, pony style, eyes, taking up a third of his head. With just a tinge of red to the irises. Making his eyes look like mangoes.
• Powers: Chaos Transformation, Necromancy, Skullie Transformation, Self Bone Manipulation (for weapons, tools, and armor), Master Illusion magicks, Master restoration magics, and a fair spell collection after that.
Avatar Name: Smar.

• Racial Template: Human Dalek / Sec.
• Description: A human Dalek, based on the episode "Daleks in Manhattan". Although this one was blue, with a purple blush to his skin, and the occasional patch of freckles. He had a veiny body, an exposed brain, one large eye (like a cyclops), and a flat noseless face. There were also 3 short tentacles, at both sides of his head. Despite being a Dalek, he's an adorable 9 year old.
• Powers: Necromancy, Healing factor, self bone manipulation. Magical craftsmen. All Humanoid Daleks, can also stretch out their tentacles, to be used as extra arms or weapons.

• Racial Template: Fae / fairy prince.
• Description: A near stereotypical pretty boy ginger. Soft features, short, and with fiery spiky red hair. Right down to the great many freckles... there was only one difference. His hair was moving, as if under water.
• Powers: limited reality bending powers, and Fae form.
Avatar Name: Jasper.

• Racial Template: Omen Vampire / Immortal Child.
• Description: A small boy, with long black hair, pale skin, freckles, blue eyes, black (claw-like) nails. Absolutely adorable.
• Powers: Absorbs health, by drinking blood. Meaning they can heal themselves, by taking it from others. This works with Monsters, VIs, and even Players. Copies one power from every player they zero out, but only if they kill them by drinking their blood. Meaning they have gained thousands of powers. Permanent increase to health for every VIs, they kill by drinking their blood. Needs to drink blood every hour, on the hour, or their health will start depleting, for every second they go without. They can avoid this by sleeping.

• Description: In his True Form, he has an orange and white body. With blue crest on his head, arms, legs, chest, and tail.
• Powers: Ki attacks, Restoration magicks, enhanced strength, super durable, warp light speeds, Self Bone Manipulation, water bending, plant bending, blood bending, health absorption spells.
Avatar Name: Snickersnack.

• Racial Template: Sangheili / Covenant Elite.
• Description: Blue skin, with intricate swirling leaf tattoos all over his body, colored a bright orange. Standing at 8 feet, six inches. Like all Sangheili, he has a quadruple-hinged jaw, with an upper jaw and four mandibles lined with sharp, pointed teeth. 4 digits; two middle fingers and two opposing thumbs on the outside for grasping. With knees that bend in the opposite direction of humans.
• Powers: Various Swordsman techniques, and sword related attacks. A common stick is as deadly as a vorpal blade, in his hands. Can preform long range attacks, by swinging his sword in that direction. His signature weapon is a Keyblade, with thousands of different keychains for it.

• Racial Template: Pokemon / Antro Eevee.
• Description: A chubby, bipedal Eevee, with short legs and arms, and short/paw-like fingers. The fur on the top of his head has been spiked up, and dyed black, like hair.
• Powers: Access to all of Eevee's move list, including TMs, HMs, and the Special moves from "Let's Go Eevee". Can temporarily transform into any Eevee Evolution, with access to their move list while in that form. Can even turn into "Fake-mon" of Eevee. Which are fan made evolutions. However, all transformations have a time limit, based on his racial perks.
Avatar Name: Hairy Plotter.

• Racial Template: Draconequus.
• Description: Legs of a fox paw and a kirin hoof, arms of a dragon claw and a pony hoof, wings of a bat and a dragon, and 4 horns (2 spiral goat horns, and 2 deer fawn nubs in between goat horns). A pony foal's head, with a much smaller muzzle then Discord's. His body was long and snake-like, but not as long as Discord's, but still longer then a pony's. He had bright Emerald eyes, round glasses, a short and messy black mane, and a lightning bolt scar above his right eye. Making him a Draconequus of Harry Potter.
• Powers: He was primarily a magic user, but had various sword and bow techniques and attacks, as well as minor Draconequus reality bending.
