Has it really been 6 years since I've updated this? Man I have a bad case of writers block. So this chapter is a short one, next chapter will feature classes for Team WNJG and MAJN and some cameos from RWBY and Earth by CodyC99
Chapter 5: Unpacking
Winry and I left the auditorium after the teams had been established, well after Gwen and Nigel had walked out. She guided me towards the dorms that had been rebuilt in the aftermath of the Fall. There were four dorm buildings surrounding the main campus, one for each year. In front of each building was a statue of a student lost in the battle against Salem, for the Freshmen dorm, it was Pyrrha Nikos.
"You know how I was trained. So, how were you trained?" I asked her.
"Former Mujahideen." She answered quickly.
"I didn't think they accepted women into their ranks." I retorted.
"Like I said, they were former. They crossed the boundary and let the local huntsmen handle the Grimm, though old habits die hard for some of them." She explained.
We reached the dorm building where we would be staying and entered the lobby. It was crowded with other students trying to reach their rooms. Winry looked at her scroll to see which room we were assigned and then grabbed my arm.
One nauseating teleport later, we were on the fifth floor of the building. "You've really got to start warning me before you decided to teleport." I gasped. She turned and walked towards a room numbered 526.
"Maybe." She replied touching her scroll to the lock, causing a soft click to be heard. She then pushed the door open revealing a large room with two bunk beds, one on each side of the room with a window between them. Our luggage had been brought to the dorm, presumably by school staff.
Nigel and Gwen had begun to unpack their stuff by the time we had entered the room. I went to unpack my trunk which contained some more clothes that I did not pack in my carry-on, a violin, and some books. I opened to the shared closet to reveal our uniforms each specifically tailored to our measurements. I began putting my clothes in as Winry unfurled a banner depicting the lion of Persia, the Shield of David, and the sun of Kurdistan.
"I'm guessing you have family in the Alliance?" Gwen asked walking over.
"Yep, they were soldiers in the Great Civil War fighting for Iran." Winry explained pinning to the wall next to the bunk that had not been claimed by Nigel and Gwen, thus claiming the bottom bunk. "After the war, some stayed Zoroastrian and moved to Vacuo, others converted to Islam and joined the Mujahideen."
"Well listen here, Desert Rat!" Gwen approached Winry, her short stature evident compared to Winry, and poked her in the chest. "I don't know whose dick you sucked to get this position, but I was trained by Captain Steven Conifers himself and I know how to fight in any environment, what do you have to show?"
"Madam, please don't be rude to your leader!" Nigel interfered standing between the two.
"I'm sorry, miss I'm nearly an Ace Ops, but did Captain Conifers ever have to fight off a horde of Grimm with Soviet era weapons and no Aura?" Winry mocked back. Gwen reached her arm back, but before she could punch Winry, Nigel grabbed her arm and threw her on to one of the beds.
"Madam, I doubt your father would approve of such actions." Nigel demeaned her.
"Fuck my father, he isn't here, and you have no say in what I do!" She yelled back throwing a pillow from the bed at Nigel.
Unable to handle the stress caused by the argument, I grabbed my phone and headphones and stormed out of the room. I walked briskly towards the common area of the floor, sat down on a red couch, and placed my headphones on. After connecting them via Bluetooth, I pulled up the Soundtrack to the Nuclear Holocaust playlist and pressed the name of It's All Over but the Crying by The Ink Spots.
"Wake up, my love." I heard whispered into my ear. "You've got to get off my wing, it's starting to hurt."
I opened my eyes and sat up. I turned to my left to see Persephone laying on her back, her right wing stretched out below me. "Are you still complaining about you sleeping on your back?" I retorted. "After all these years, you still find me sleeping wrapped in your wings painful?"
She rolled onto her stomach and stood up. She then whacked me over the head with one of her wings. "You know, due this being an astral projection, I can't actually feel you hitting me." I chuckled.
"I can hit you all I want once you get here." She spoke.
"Only if Glaux grants us the second major blessing of the three we need." I said kissing her on the beak.
"That third blessing is entirely reliant on you." She said kissing me back.
"So you're not uncomfortable with me sleeping in the same room as two women?" I asked.
"Remember, I made you promise, no more avatars after Nicole's betrayal." She reminded me.
"When Glaux passes his judgement, all humans will burn in Hagsmire." I preached causing Persephone to nod her head.
"And only then, shall the universe be free to live without fear." She said back.
I pressed our foreheads together. "Blessed is the one who fights without fear of the darkness that consumes, for it is them who liberate the lost souls scattered away from their home worlds." I prayed.
"May the light of Glaux's moon shine on the souls who fight for freedom from oppression and freedom from the evils of Hagsmire." Persephone responded.
