It had been a week since Katie got home, and life was hard. Hailey had agreed to take Tatum while Katie recovered, so she wasn't struggling at all in that way, and both Stryker and Rex were highly trained, military working dogs, so they behaved well and they had a doggy door to get in and out of the house, so she didn't have to worry about them at all either. But she did have to worry, constantly, about the pain, both physical and mental. Katie's mental health was getting better, without a doubt, but her mental health wasn't, and nobody could blame her, she was struggling to deal with the fact that her boyfriend, now ex-boyfriend, had killed their unborn child. The fact that she didn't know she was carrying the baby helped a little bit, but she had always wanted to be a mother, and knowing that she had the chance, and it was taken away from her, destroyed her.

Katie refused to let her feelings show, and the team was starting to get worried about her. Between her shutting down every time they asked her how she was feeling mentally, and giving short one-word answers to most of their questions, they knew they were slowly losing the Katie they loved, and they wanted nothing more than to just have the old, happy Katie back. The team had tried everything they could think of to help her feel better, but none of it worked and the only reason she hadn't shut down completely and gone catatonic yet, was because she had Jay by her side the whole time. After giving up and finally deciding to ask Katie what would make her feel better, instead of trying to come up with their own ideas, they got a short, but aggressive answer: "find the man who killed my baby." And so it was decided, that's what they would do.

Back in the bullpen, the team was getting closer and closer to finding Noah. They had found Anthony Spear, the cousin that Noah had left the bar with, and now all they had to do was interrogate him and figure out where Noah had gone.

"So Anthony, does your cousin make a habit of beating up women in his spare time?" Jay said, sitting in the interrogation room, across the table from the man. Since Jay and Hailey were the closest to Katie, the unit figured it would be best if Jay and Hailey interviewed the man, Jay playing the bad cop, as usual, and Hailey playing the good cop, even though she hated trying to make a deal with the man who was protecting the person who almost killed her best friend, who was more like a sister to her.

"I have no idea what you're talking about man!" Anthony explained trying to act completely clueless and not being entirely successful.

"Yeah? See, here's the thing, I don't believe you," Jay said opening a file and slipping the pictures that had been taken of Katie when she was brought to the hospital so they could be used as evidence, "Because we saw you walking out of a bar and getting into a car with you, just a few hours after he did this to his girlfriend and nearly killed her."

"No. No I- I swear, I didn't know he did that! He said that she was cheating on him so he got revenge, I just assumed he went out and hooked up with another chick, I didn't think he meant he tried to beat her to death." The man said frantically, looking absolutely appalled that his cousin ever could have done something like this. "Please! You can't give me jail time, I don't want to go back, I swear, if I knew what he did I wouldn't have helped him, please you gotta believe me."

"We can keep you out of jail, Anthony," now Hailey was talking, "but we need to know where Noah went. That's the only way you get out of this, if you tell us we can protect you from Noah, but only if you tell us where he is."

"He's been hiding out with a friend of mine, Kyle, Kyle Smith, he lives on the south side, during the day he works at the bar he owns, over on Racine, he's giving Noah protection, wherever Kyle is, Noah is with him." Anthony said, finally convinced to talk after being offered protection.

"Okay," Voight boomed as he met Jay and Hailey back in the bullpen, "we have a location, it's the bar on the corner of Racine owned by Kyle Smith. He has priors so we need to be careful about how we do this. We have reason to believe he's armed, and we've been informed that he'll protect Noah at all costs, so we need to be careful about how we do this."

The whole team nodded in agreement before going down to get ready to hit the bar. They all knew they needed to be careful, which normally wasn't an issue, but with this case they had a hard time keeping their heads clear, one of their friends was involved. Everyone only had one thought on their mind as they were getting ready, Katie. They wanted to catch Noah for her, to give her as much justice as they possibly could, she had just lost her child, and almost her life, at the hands of this man; they wanted to get him, for her.

"Alright," Voight's voice carried through the roll up, "let's go get these guys. Nobody get's hurt today, everyone comes home, but we do whatever we have to do to catch these guys, he hurt Katie, we're doing this for her."

There was a chorus of "understood" and "got it" from the members of the team before they all climbed into their cars and got ready to go find and arrest the guy who hurt Katie. Everyone's hearts were pumping, and they were running on crappy coffee, and pure adrenaline, as they went to the bar.

Pulling up to the bar, the team slowly got out of their vehicles and made their way to the front door of the bar, trying not to alert anyone that they were there. Slowly, walking up to the door of the bar, they stopped to listen and make sure that Kyle and Noah were actually inside and that they hadn't been led on a wild goose chase. Hearing the voices and confirming that Kyle and Noah were, indeed, in the bar, they got ready to breach.

"On my count," Voight announced, holding his fist up, signaling to the team that they would breach when he told them it was time. Slowly, lowering his fist, Voight counted, "three, two, one; breach!"

"CHICAGO PD!" Jay shouted as Voight finished counting down, knocking the door in with the battering ram. As the team entered the building, they saw Noah sitting at the bar, drinking a beer, and Kyle walking out of the back room carrying a box of liquor. "Kyle Smith, Noah Sharp! On the ground, get your hands where I can see them."

Noah and Kyle, still not fully grasping the situation that they had just found themselves in, had no choice but to obey what Jay had told them to do, slowly getting down on the ground and putting their arms out to their sides. As Jay and Kevin cuffed the men, Jay was being a little bit rougher than was probably necessary.

"Hey! Man, you're hurting me!" Noah said as he resisted Jay, thinking that would get Jay to calm down a little bit.

"Oh yeah?" Jay asked, "I'm hurting you? I bet this is nothing compared to the pain Katie felt when you were beating her. Uh-huh, yeah, like when you beat her so badly that she had swelling around her spinal cord that caused her to be unable to use her legs, and still keeps her from using them sometimes? Or like the pain she felt when you were beating her so badly that you broke her ribs and gave her a collapsed lung? Or how about when you beat her so badly that you killed your unborn child?" At this announcement Noah looked stunned and, for a second, even stopped fighting Jay as he cuffed him and got him off the ground, then continued, "Noah Sharp, you're under arrest for evading arrest, domestic abuse, and fetal homicide. You have a right to remain silent, everything you say can, and will, be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you. If you choose to answer questions without an attorney present, you have the right to stop answering and speak with an attorney at any time. Do you understand these rights?"

"Y-yes," Noah answered, looking completely shocked.

As Noah was taken away and put into the back of a patrol car to be taken to the station, the team looked completely relieved that they had caught the man that hurt Katie. Katie had been in pain for such a long time, and they finally helped her to get rid of some of that pain. The team was so grateful that Katie would never have to experience that hurt or pain ever again, and that she was finally safe. Now that they had caught Noah, she could finally be safe and she could trust them, and let them protect her, she could finally be free of the pain that had followed her around her whole life, thanks to them.
