The sun peeked through the window into the quiet room. Bakugo stirred slightly and rolled over, blue eyes watched him quietly from her desk as she read through what her record label had sent her. Dozens of requests and emails. They wanted to put the song out and license it with a gaming company in Japan. A few talk shows wanted her to come on and talk as well. Midterms were coming up in a couple of weeks, she had a few online tests, but her main concern was the hero portion. With all of the performances she hadn't been able to train as much as she had wanted.
She sighed and texted her brother to meet up for coffee tomorrow to sort through this. Running a hand through her curls she clicked on through silently until she felt eyes on her. She smiled, keeping her eyes on her work, "Did you decide to come back to the land of the living?"
"Something like that," Bakugo yawned and settled against her pillow, it still smelled like her, "What the bell are you doing now?"
"Sorting through all of this bullshit from last night," she huffed, "the label sent me emails they received about the song, and some other requests. It's pretty standard."
"Sounds annoying."
She looked over to him and nodded, "Very annoying. But, necessary. I need a backup plan if the commission decides to not fund my projects."
Bakugo thought for a moment, "What are they for?"
Sunni closed her laptop and crawled onto the bed beside him, "Well, one is a funding program for new agencies, and the other, is a rehabilitation program for heroes and civilians who have had severe trauma."
He watched her as she spoke, taking every moment in, "They'd be idiots not to."
She smiled, "Well, we both know their reputation.."
He smirked, "True."
"I need a favor."
"Now what," he teased with a glare.
"I need a sparring partner for midterms. I have a new thing I wanna try," she paused when he eyed her, "No, not a piggyback."
He thought for a moment before sighing, "I guess I can."
Sunni smirked, "I mean I can always ask Todoroki or-"
He reached out and pulled her down to his level, "Don't start."
She gave him a soft kiss, "I'll be nice today, Katsuki." Her phone buzzed from a text. She opened it and went into a fit of giggles, "Oh no."
The blond sat up, "What now?"
"Apparently Mina is my secret girlfriend," she turned her phone to show him. Sure enough. Tobias had sent her screen shots with a laughing emoji. He rolled his eyes, making Sunni grin, "Don't tell me you're jealous."
"Definitely not. It's just sad that they make up stories like that."
"I agree a hundred percent, but, it was bound to happen. At least I waited until I was nineteen for my first scandal," she chuckled and forwarded them to Mina.
It was a windy Wednesday afternoon as Hawks sauntered through the halls of U.A. casually looking around. So this is what it's like, he thought to himself. His gold eyes scanned around looking for a particular target.
"Hawks," came a confused voice from behind him, "This is unexpected."
The blond pro spun around and grinned, "Erasure, just who I needed to see. I need an able body for tonight."
"I'm assuming you didn't fill out a request form," Aizawa sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. He wasn't paid enough for this.
"Sure didn't ," he chuckled.
"Let's go see who we can capture," he yawned and made his way to Gamma. He knew some of them had signed up to practice for their midterms. They made their way into the observation area just in time to see some action.
It was boys against girls all out. Hawks smiled watching them. If only they knew how lucky they were to have this experience. Red hair caught his eye, he had yet to see her quirk in action.
Sunni dodged Todoroki smoothly and landed a kick to his chest, sending him backwards. She pulled out her cards and sent them flying towards him, making them explode on impact. She closed her eyes and flipped up just as Deku made a run for her, she grinned and looked down at him, sticking out her tongue. He grinned back and reached up for her.
"What is her quirk," he crossed his arms.
"She can manipulate Kinetic Energy. Similar to Midoriya's." Aizawa eyed him, "She's not exactly Endeavors favorite, so I suggest some caution."
"I heard about that," he thought for a moment, "I can imagine he's not her favorite either."
She slid to a stop and caught her breath. The girls were holding their own pretty well. Their extra training had been paying off. It made her happy to know they were more confident in battle. She saw Bakugo had cornered Ochako on the other side and grinned, tapping her foot lightly and purple sparks shot up her leg.
Aizawa's eyes narrowed, "That's new."
Hawks watched as she took off at record speed, "Seems she channeling it to make her move faster."He smirked, "Smart."
Just as Bakugo swung down, a blur grabbed his target, whisking her out of his reach. Sunni slid and set her down, "You good?"
The brown haired girl smiled, "Yes! Thank you!"
"Thats crap," Bakugo's voice boomed as he aimed his palms towards her, "Your ass is mine."
Sunni smirked and turned to face him, "Just remember when I beat your ass, you started it."
She pulled out her bow staff and took a deep breath before moving. He smirked as he blocked her first hit, pushing him backwards. His palms shot off blasts, making her back off of him. Close combat in his hero gear with her was a no no. He had found that out when training a few days ago. She dodged him and paused before her next move.
"They'd make one hell of a team," Hawks had pulled up a chair, fully intending on watching how this ended.
"I think that's the goal," Aizawa smirked to himself, "Bakugo is starting an agency after graduation."
"Oh?"
"I can already tell you who is going to sign from this class. I hope she's one of them."
Their eyes cut back to her in the air, surrounded by her cards. Bakugo landed a cheap hit, making her slightly flustered. She hadn't used her big move yet, better now that ever. Her hands clapped together hard, sending the massive amount of cards hurling towards the blond.
"Shit," he moved as quickly as he could, blasting himself into the air just as her cards hit. Sunni huffed in agitation as she landed and charged at him once more, when the dust settled, his hand was right in front of her face sparking, while her hand held a glowing card to his throat. They both caught their breath, not moving. Bakugo blinked and grabbed her, jumping out of the way of a flying, screaming Denki.
Sunni laughed as he set her down, "Was this your card?" She held up the Joker.
He rolled his eyes with a smirk, "You tried to blow me up, asshole."
"I want her," Hawks stood with a smile and walked out, making his way into the arena. A long sigh left Aizawa he wasn't going to get involved in this. Too much energy. Everyone else stopped to catch their breath when the blond pro walked out onto the arena, "You guys are good," he looked around to the practicing class, "I need a body for patrol tonight," he looked at Sunni, "You in?"
Her blue eyes blinked, "Me?"
He shrugged casually, "Why not? You saved that old man's ass. I might need you to save mine." He eyed Bakugo, who was watching him carefully, "Relax hot head."
He opened his mouth but Sunni's gentle grasp on his elbow stopped him. She smiled, "Sure why not? I just have tests tomorrow, so I can't be out late."
His gold eyes studied the two students for a moment before smiling, "Of course!" He turned to exit the arena, "I'll be outside when you're ready."
"I don't like this," Bakugo looked at her.
"Relax," she let out a breath, "It'll be fine."
He gave a defeated sigh as they made their way towards the exit while the rest of the class continued their brawl. Hawks was leaning against a wall, texting on his phone, his gold eyes looked up with a smile, "Why don't you grab us some comms?"
The red head nodded and walked to the tech room. Hawks chuckled at a silent Bakugo, "Don't act like that."
Bakugo could feel his patience rapidly declining, "Like what?"
"I get it, she's your girl," the hero walked up to him, "I'm not an idiot." They studied each other for a minute before he continued, "You two make one hell of a team, you need to make sure she signs with you."
He blinked, "Who told you?"
"Aizawa," he smirked, "I think it's a great idea." His eyes glanced at a returning Sunni, "I'll bring her back in one piece."
She handed Hawks a comm, "Ready?"
He smiled, "Sure thing, let's get to it."
She gave Bakugo a smile as they made their way out of the gym.
