AN1: The reason this took so long was due to several factors. Overall laziness, writers block and having inspirations for other stories. One big thing was Naruto needed to be revived but I had too many ideas on how it could work so I have to pick one and just go with it.
When I post this its my birthday! I decided to cut this here so I could post this for my birthday update! Don't worry I will be working on the next chapter too! Sorry for the year and half-ish update time for this…
Chapter 6 Revival
Time seemed to stop for the entire world as Naruto body shuddered before it dropped in a pile with his face on the ground. For what seemed like eternity nobody could move or process that happened when all the sudden Strelitzia screamed.
Strelitzia was the one closest in distance to Naruto being less then a foot away before Naruto used his Gedo Rinne Rebirth Jutsu. She ran the short distance and placed Naruto head onto her lap.
She slammed her hands onto Naruto's chest trying to get a reaction to no avail. She desperately placed her ear onto his chest to listen from a heartbeat but heard nothing.
"Brother!" Kairi screamed as she sprinted almost pushing Strelitzia off him and pulled him against her trying to feel the breath on her skin when he hugged her only to feel nothing.
"What happened? What did he do?!" Riku demanded of Strelitzia as in his eyes Kairi's brother was his friend.
"….." Strelitzia was unable to say anything as tears ran down her eyes and she put her hands trying to stop the flow of tears to no avail. Marluxia groggily got up to comfort his sister with Larxene doing the same.
They blinked at they could not physically touch the young girl but shook it off when Strelitzia ran into Marluxia arms and kept crying.
"He's not breathing…. I can't hear anything from him…" Kairi said numbly as her bright blue eyes lost their shine and looked dull and lifeless.
"You're not saying… Don't joke about this! This isn't funny!" Xion shouted in denial as she glared at Naruto with tears in her eyes.
"Xion… He can't…." Roxas said awkwardly looking afraid when Xion glare turned to him as she looked like she wanted to blast him with Fire magic.
"He can't what Roxas? Say it! Come one! Say it!" Xion shouted as she grabbed his shoulders and glared at him.
"Xion… He doesn't…" Lea stated before Xion glared at him. She let go of Roxas and went to Namine.
The two girls hugged each other as tears flowed down their cheeks with nobody capable of saying anything.
"The Gedo Art of Rinne-Rebirth is a forbidden technique only available to those have the Rinnegan. Its those purple eyes that Naruto had when he created a body for Namine." Strelitzia explained as she wiped her tears away but more kept coming.
"Forbidden? Why would it be forbidden?" Mickey asked with narrowed eyes.
"It can revive the dead." Strelitzia revealed darkly as she clenched her fist as Marluxia gasped and patted her shoulders as if trying to prove she was alive.
"Dead? You mean you were….?" Ventus asked wincing as his felt an unpleasant feeling gnawing at the back of his head.
'What is this feeling? Its like my heart is crying in pain and guilt?' Ven thought and unknown to him Vanitas was also wincing behind his mask.
"Yes. For all intents and purposes I was merely lingering thoughts and feelings that was one step away from true death." Strelitzia admitted as she looked down.
"So my brother… Why isn't he breathing! What does that Rinne whatever do to the caster if he uses it?!" Kairi snapped as she held onto her limp twin who had his eyes closed.
"…. It trades the life force of the user for the target. He sacrificed himself so I could breath again as a true living person." Strelitzia revealed as the Lights all gasped.
"That can't be true! I won't let him die!" Kairi screamed as she shook Naruto who body limply swayed while she shook him.
"Wake up! Please! Say something!" Kairi shouted as tears ran down her face and onto his face.
Sadly never even Kairi's tears could get a reaction from Naruto.
"Kairi…" Riku said quietly as he hung his head in sadness and respect for the blonde hero.
'They just found each other and now they are apart again.' Riku thought bitterly as he glanced and saw that Namine and Xion were holding each other even as tears continued to fall.
Roxas and Axel looked sadly as if they didn't know what to say to Namine and Xion. Aqua gripped her hand while Ven kept blinking and wincing. Mickey, Donald and Goofy looked like they were in denial of what was happening.
Sora bent down and grabbed Kairi pulling her in a tight hug. Kairi screamed and tried to get back to her limp twin who was lying there with a blank expression and his eyes closed. Kairi only stopped struggling once Riku grabbed both Sora and Kairi in an even tighter hug as Kairi tears wet both Sora and Riku shirts while they held her.
"So that idiot died huh?" Dark Riku asked smugly crossing his arms with a superior smirk on his face.
Dark Riku smirked as the glares from all the guardians of Light. Kairi pushed aside Sora and Riku and glared hatefully at him as she summoned Destiny's Embrace keyblade and aimed at him.
"Wow Princess. If you weren't pure light, I feel darkness would be flowing from you based on how much you are glaring at me." Dark Riku commented.
"Shut up!" Kairi shouted as she dashed and leapt forward smashing her Keyblade against the barrier which held firm from her strike.
"Wow. Ironic her brother barrier is keeping us safe from his sister righteous fury." Xigbar whistled.
'Barrier is still up. If he truly has been taken by death this barrier should have vanished as well.' Master Xehanort thought as he glanced around.
Kairi yelled as tears ran down her face as she continued to swing her Keyblade at the barrier as Luxord and even Saix looked away seeing the Princess crying. Xenmas and Ansem had neutral expressions while Terra-Nort and Young Master Xehanort looked at Kairi with smirks on their faces. Xigbar did not have his cocky smirk for once and looked concerned although he hid it well.
Vanitas kept his face on Strelitzia who was crying in Marluxia and Larxene's arms.
Finally, Riku grabbed Kairi wrist and Kairi was about to shout at Riku till she saw his expression. It was full of nothing but sympathy and sadness with his eyes full of sorrow.
"That's enough. Kairi that's enough." Riku whispered as Kairi's Keyblade disappeared as her head dropped in sorrow.
"Wow you are pathetic Riku. Is this an act to try to get into the Princess skirt? You did have a crush on her and even allowed yourself to fall to darkness to save her before." Dark Riku mocked as Kairi glared at him.
This time Mickey, Donald and Goofy had to restrain Riku who looked ready to clock Dark Riku who only seemed amused.
Naruto body was by itself as the rest of the group had gathered around Kairi to comfort her. Unseen to everyone else Naruto hand twitched as his whisker marking became bigger and more refined. His fingernails turned sharper into claw like shapes as Naruto took a breath.
"Shut Up!" Naruto grunted and those two words made everyone turn back to Naruto who had gotten onto his knees and slowly sat up. Naruto face was towards Dark Riku who narrowed his eyes at Naruto.
"Your voice and tone really piss me off." Naruto grunted as his eyes was closed but now he had gotten to his feet.
"Naruto!" Kairi squealed in delight as she ran past everyone and enveloped her brother in a tight hug. She buried her face into his chest and wrapped her arms around his waist refusing to let go.
Naruto arms stood limply by his arms but Kairi didn't care as she could hear his heartbeat again with his face pressed against his chest.
"Impossible. He should be dead. Not even Naruto should be able to be alive after using Gedo Art of Rinne Rebirth." Strelitzia whispered in shock.
"Sister? How do you know all this?" Marluxia asked his sister who wiped her tears away.
"When I went into Naruto heart, I gained access to some of his memories and feelings. We shared memories as a result so we knew each other without saying a word." Strelitzia revealed.
Larxene and Marluxia gave a small smile to Naruto was getting smothered by his sister but still notably not hugging her back.
Nobody still noticed his changes in appearance or the fact his voice was much deeper than it was before. It seemed everyone was too shocked and relieved to see Naruto stand up to notice these changes.
"You're okay. I am so relieved. Naruto!" Kairi whispered as she refused to let him go.
Naruto finally put a hand on her shoulder much to Kairi's joy but that joy turned to shock when Naruto's hand grabbed her bare shoulder and started to push her away.
"Brother? What are you doing?" Kairi said in pure shock.
"Let Go. I don't like hugs from anyone besides Naruto." 'Naruto' said as stepped back.
"Wait. 'Naruto'? Then who is…?" Aqua asked as she gasped.
'Naruto' opened his eyes revealing red eyes with a slit as he huffed.
"That is not the boy. He feels different." Master Xehanort noted as he crossed his arms.
"Oh? Perhaps another heart lies within his and his 'death' has allowed this other heart to take over his body?" Xigbar commented with a snicker.
'Naruto' pushed Kairi away and glared at Xigbar before he gave him the middle finger with his right hand.
"Up yours. I did not take over Naruto's body. I am what's allowing Naruto body to not punish and die." 'Naruto claimed as he looked unconcerned with the keyblades aimed at him.
"I won't ask again. Who are you?" Mickey asked sharply as his keyblade hummed with power.
' Naruto' took a moment in deep thought.
'I suppose since Naruto is bad at explaining things I will keep it simple. My name is Kurama and I suppose I am the reason why Naruto was hated as a child.' Kurama stated as he took a deep breath.
Namine gasped along with Xion as Kurama looked at them with a raised eyebrow.
"What does that mean? What did you do?" Namine demanded as Xion stood by her side with her keyblade out.
Behind Xion, Lea and Roxas also had their keyblades out as if to protect or at least assist Xion.
"Hmm it's a long story. To be honest It predates that silly keyblade war by centuries." Kurama mused as he smirked when he saw Xigbar clench his fist.
"It started over a thousand years ago well before people sought out Kingdom Hearts and before people like Naruto had the power of chakra." Kurama explained as a throne of Earth appeared behind him so he could sit down.
Kurama began an elaborate tale about Kaguya Otsutsuki, her sons, Ten-Tails, The sage of Six Paths, his two children who become the ancestors of the Uchiha and Senju/Uzumaki clans.
"As one of the Tailed Beasts formed from Ten-Tails chakra my might far surpassed humans but that was a curse as humans wanted to use me for their wars and scabbles." Kurama remarked resentfully.
"I was ripped out of Naruto's mother Kushina Uzumaki and forced to go on a rampage due to that blasted Sharingan ability to control my actions. After a series of events I was defeated by being sealed away inside this newborn baby." Kurama summarized before Kairi gasped.
"So Naruto was hated due to hosting you!" Kairi snapped as Kurama raised an eyebrow.
"Humans forced me to attack them and yet they hate me for the actions other humans desired? How is that fair Guardians of Light?" Kurama asked rhetorically crossing his arms.
This made everyone go silent at they couldn't exactly refute his actions.
"But to answer the Princess of Heart question. Yes humans are unable or unwilling to trust those who hurt them or someone they love and unable to see past guilty and guilty by being there." Kurama noted as his eyes grew sad for a moment.
"Think about it this way. This guy had to suffer in a world filled with war and hatred outside the realm of light and darkness. While his older twin was sent to Radiant Garden, adopted by a grandmother who cherished her and even after her world fell was flung to a tropical island world where she never knew what loneliness or loss was. Can you honestly say besides blood you can understand Naruto's heart having never suffered like he suffered?" Kurama asked seriously as Kairi glared at him.
"I don't care who you are! Don't talk to Kairi that way!" Sora yelled as Kurama finger twitched as a small breeze made Sora stop in his tracks.
"I am simply stating facts. There is a saying that I must admit makes sense. Only a Jinchuuriki aka a Human Sacrifice can understand another Jinchuuriki. Only people who have suffered can understand the suffering of others." Kurama noted as he pointed to Strelitzia who looked confused.
"Naruto chose to use a forbidden jutsu to save her life because he couldn't stand the injustice of her life being cut so short while he could do something. Its something he has always done. Be an idiot who is a sap and worries about everyone while forgetting to worry about himself." Kurama remarked as a small smile of respect could be seen on his face even as he was scowling.
Riku shook his head.
"None of that matters to me. All I want to know is: is he dead? Can you bring him back?" Riku asked seriously as everyone turned to Kurama who frowned.
"Naruto is still nearly dead. His life force was still drained by the Gedo Art of Rinne Rebirth. If not for his incredible life force and having me sealed inside of him he would have dropped dead right after the Jutsu." Kurama revealed with a sigh of frustration.
"Then can we bring him back? We can use the Power of Waking to restore a heart that has been lost. Perhaps that can be used to bring him back from wherever he is?" Riku suggested as Kairi, Namine and Xion eyes grew hopeful.
Before Kurama could reply the Guardians of Light heard a snort from the trapped Seekers of Darkness.
"As if! You brats gain a small potion of power and you think you control everything!" Xigbar mocked with a grin. AN2:
"What did you say?!" Ventus growled glaring at him as Xigbar smirked.
"Been over 11 years and you still have that glare down. I guess some things never change." Xigbar remarked as he remembered Ventus glaring at him the same way in the Keyblade Graveyard 11 years ago while he was still Braig.
"Enough. Foolish Keyblade wielders. The Power of Waking is not to traverse World to find Hearts its rather the power to traverse Hearts to find Worlds. If you use it foolishly there will be a high price to pay." Young Xehanort warned.
Sora scoffed and snorted. "Oh now you care about us?" Sora asked mockingly.
Young Xehanort raised an eyebrow but didn't reply.
"Don't bother. Where he is a place different then what you perceive as death. Not even I can bring him back with the chakra I have left maintaining his body." Kurama admitted as he clenched his fist in annoyance.
"What exactly is chakra? You just mentioned it was passed down to everyone in Naruto's world." Roxas asked as Namine saw Kairi wince at the mention it was no longer her world.
Namine gave her original and essentially sister a smile which she returned.
"Consider it life force for ninja and civilians that live in Naruto's world. It doesn't really have a name besides Earth but I guess if we go by the naming of the worlds in the Realm of Light it would be called "the Land with Chakra"." Kurama mused with a small chuckle.
The guardians of Light sweat dropped at his description but did nod.
"Then can you use my chakra?" Kairi asked in determination much to everyone surprise.
"Kairi!" Sora yelled in surprise as Kairi eyes glowed with resolve.
"Like it or not I came from that world. So, I must have chakra inside me somewhere even if I have never used it." Kairi noted as she looked down at her chest as if she was visualizing chakra being there.
"It does make sense. I mean even if she no longer lives there, she was born there." Aqua admitted.
"Gosh. It does make sense in theory but can you safely take the life force of Kairi and put it into Naruto?" Mickey asked nervously as he focused on the 'life force' aspect of the cakra explanation.
Everyone turned to Kurama who merely raised an eyebrow.
"A person does not die from using chakra or ninjas would die as soon as they fight. It does regenerate after awhile after all. Its just Naruto's technique requires the core of a person chakra to be used up all so Naruto cannot regenerate his own chakra. I cannot restore him either as I am using my power to keep his soul from completely fading away." Kurama explained as he sighed.
"Then you can take all the chakra you need to from me. Anything to save him." Kairi stated softly as she put a hand over her heart.
Riku put a hand on Sora shoulder when he looked like he was about to protest.
"Your minds made up?" Riku asked Kairi who nodded.
"I have to do this. He's, my brother. He needs my help." Kairi explained with a look of determination.
"Then I can give whatever is inside of me too." Namine stated as she walked next to Kairi much to everyone surprise.
"Namine?" Roxas asked in surprise and worry.
"I was made from Kairi's heart and I was her Nobody. That must mean chakra must exist somewhere inside of me as well. If its used to save Naruto I would happily use it." Namine noted with her eyes serious.
"Hmmm. You are right you do both posses chakra inside your bodies." Kurama noted with a nod as he glanced at them and with his own sensory abilities, he could detect the chakra core inside of them.
Namine and Kairi looked excited while Xion bit her lip in frustration.
'I call him my brother but it not really a reflection of Kairi so that means I don't have the 'chakra' to help him.' Xion thought sadly.
"Then take whatever you need out of us." Kairi stated as she and Namine placed their right arms for Kurama to take.
Much to their shock Kurama shook his head.
"It won't work. You do possess chakra and actually it resembles Naruto own chakra more then most people." Kurama claimed much to the girls anger.
Before Kairi and Namine could yell at the Tailed Beast Ventus decided to ask something.
"What do you mean resemble? Isn't chakra the same for everyone on your world?" Ven asked as Kurama sighed.
"Chakra is unique to ever single person who has ever lived. However people who share blood like families do have more similar chakra to each other and there is resonance between blood relatives. For example, Naruto and his father had very good link when they shared chakra because they were father and son." Kurama explained as he had a vague smile remembering his two halves sharing chakra through Naruto and Minato Kurama Modes.
"So that must mean that Naruto/Kairi and Namine would have an even greater bond due to being siblings, right?" Roxas insisted eagerly.
"Normally yes but the problem is not the bond but quantity and quality of chakra. Let me put it bluntly. Even if I drained the girls to near death Naruto would still not wake up. It would not be nearly enough chakra." Kurama stated coolly as Namine and Kairi looked crushed.
Kurama looked uncomfortable for a moment before he sighed.
"Don't take it too hard. Let me put this way. Even the 5 Kage who are considered the 5 strongest Ninjas of the world chakra would not be enough. They are considered monsters in their own right for humans who posses chakra. The 5 Kage are not just the leaders of the 5 greatest Ninja Villages but they are all considered near pinnacles of ninjas in some way or another." Kurama stated.
All the sudden they heard laughter so they turned to the barrier as Dark Riku was giving dark laughter holding his sides.
"What's so funny?" Riku yelled to the replica who he assumed was himself possessed by Ansem the Seeker of Darkness in the past.
"I just find the irony so funny. This guy who appears to be stronger then anyone else is unable to be saved because he was so strong that no one can match him. He seemed invincible except for the most fragile of human emotions: empathy!" Dark Riku noted laughing even more when the guardians of Light glared with heat at him.
"Are we sure this is Riku from the past? He just seems too dark even in the past." Goofy whispered to Donald who looked skeptic.
"Who else could it be? He has all of the power of Riku when he was possessed by darkness even that hair cut!" Donald retorted.
Kurama put his hand up and walked up to the barrier with an emotionless expression until he stopped just a foot from the barrier.
"What makes you think you are safe? Do you really think these comments won't get punished?" Kurama asked darkly as everyone got an eerie expression from the possessed Naruto.
"Don't bluff. We know you guardians of Light are soft and hence won't defeat us." Dark Riku claimed as Kurama smile grew even bigger.
"Naruto is not a Guardian of Light. He might agree with their goals but he is not someone who figth if he needs to." Kurama explained before he pressed his clawed hand against the barrier causing sparks to appear from the impact.
"And I am not soft like Naruto. He might try to reason with you but I am not soft. I will happily destroy anyone who threatens Naruto. You might think you are safe but if you cause Naruto well being to in danger I will rip your Replica vessel apart and make sure you will not return." Kurama promised as red chakra appeared across his body and 1 tail of chakra branched out and started to move dangerously. AN3:
'What intense killer intent! This is on a different level from the true darkness! Whatever he is will destroy everyone if they annoy him! He feels like a natural disaster!' Xigbar aka Luxu thought for once in fear as he sweated.
Wind started to push everyone back as the guardians of Light had to brace themselves and cover their eyes.
"This is chakra too?! It feels so dark and powerful! Nothing like the calm aura your brother had!" Aqua screamed as Kairi eyes started to water.
'This is the power you had to deal with all your life Naruto? The power that could threaten to destroy everything and had people fear and despise you all this time?' Kairi thought sadly as she blinked.
Xion and Namine had grabbed her hands in support as they shared similar thoughts.
The wind show lasted for several minutes as the intensity of the killer intent and wind increased as the chakra cloak slowly went up by another tail until it reached 9. The earth itself started to crack and storm clouds started to form but no rain as if in response to the chakra.
'Wow this power is so intense even the environment around us is started to get affected…!' Mickey thought in fear.
Kurama took a deep breath and calmed down as the chakra started to recede back into himself as tails shrunk one by one. Soon the tails had disappeared and even the red chakra cloak vanished as his whisker marks and claws had reduced down to the appearance of when Kurama first took over Naruto's body. The storm and wind also vanished as the chakra sustaining it vanished.
"That was insane. How can anyone have this kind of power?" Larxene asked in fear as she and Marluxia had protected Strelitzia with their bodies.
"This is nothing compared to the real thing." Strelitzia declared much to everyone besides Kurama disbelief.
"From what I saw inside Naruto's heart, Kurama power can destroy entire worlds by himself. This little show is nothing compared to his full power." Strelitzia claimed as Kurama smirked.
"Wow a fan. I could almost see why Naruto would sacrifice himself for you." Kurama commented with an impressed eyebrow.
Strelitzia blinked not expecting this response but before she could ask Kurama already looked away.
"Now to save Naruto… I will need to drain a lot of chakra from the people of his world. They do owe him their lives after all." Kurama mused as he put his hand out.
"You can save him?" Kairi asked desperately as Kurama gave a 'so-so' look.
"I could but it would require…. Lots of human chakra." Kurama remarked with a notable distasteful expression.
"He really does not need other powers then my own. However, this time I will swallow my pride if its to save him." Kurama stated grumpily.
"To open a portal I will need it. Sadly I have to rely on that power to open a portal to the Elemental Nations." Kurama sighed as he looked rather annoyed.
"What are you talking about? What power?" Sora asked.
Kurama turned to Master Xehanort who narrowed his eyes at Tailed Beast.
"The thing he has been seeking this entire time but has never been able to truly get." Kurama explained cryptically as he put his hand out.
Master Xehnaort and Terra-Nort eyes widened as they ran up to the edge of the barrier.
"You cannot possibly mean?!" They shouted as Kurama smirked.
Blue light appeared in front of Kurama's hand as it started to form a shape.
"Is this a Keyblade?" Xion shouted as Kurama shook his head.
"No. Nothing as simple as a Keyblade." Kurama claimed as the light solidified before it turned so bright everyone had to close their eyes.
"What is this feeling? It feels like my entire body is being smothered by something crushing me…." Sora said as everyone winced.
It took a minute before the light vanished and everyone could look at Kurama.
In his hands was a blade surrounded in intense blue light that screamed power and perfection.
"This cannot be!" Terra-Nort shouted in denial.
"It has to be!" Aqua shouted in awe as she looked wide eyed at the blade.
The Seekers of Darkness , Mickey, Aqua, Ventus, Maruxia, Larxene and even Strelitzia could only look at the blade in awe.
"Yes the complete and true X-blade! The one and only X-blade! Not a replica or copy but the true X-blade!" Kurama exclaimed as the blade hummed with power in his hand.
The χ-blade appears to be made up of two crossing Kingdom Keys, with the teeth facing outward. It has a filigree that slightly resembles one on the Ultima Weapon, and the blade slightly resembles the Dream Sword.
"It was with him?!" Xigbar screamed as he pointed to Naruto as Kurama smirked.
AN2: A reference to Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood where Envy the Homunculus mocks Edward for thinking he has all the answers when he in reality he is blind to the truth.
AN3: He is in a form of Version 1 cloak but obviously people not in the Naruto world would not know what to call it.
