Walking quickly, I heard police sirens and people speaking in the distance. Too late to get there before anyone else I walk up, onto the road, and then back down to the crash site. This was to appear as if I simply happened upon the incident or was a curious passerby. Though my wings were back in, my back was exposed to the feathers on it visible. I must have lost my jacket when I flew, or rather, fell out of the plane. Keeping my back away from view, I lend against a tree at a distance to survey the scene.

The police were loading body bags, as reporters live on air. The silver coffin was open but still empty. Overhearing where the bodies headed to a town hall in Clark for the time being. Better to focus on where Dracula was since the others won't be a problem till dark.

He had to be in the water concealed in shade. No way the vampire was foolish enough to let himself be found and dragged into the sun to burn. The body count was wrong too, if the vampire was found, one body was missing. Unfortunately, the police did not know of this.

Thinking the scene was clear, the police and most of the reporters left to go to Clark. The search for Dracula was postponed when one reporter, Valerie Sharpe, and her cameraman stayed behind. Hoping to get some extra shots for news.

Seeing me lurking, they ask what I was doing. Lying I chose to tell them, "I live nearby and wanted to make sure no one lurked around too long. Hope you don't mind. Wonder if they plan on cleaning this mess up? Don't need people poking around because the plane is still here." Seeming to accept my explanation, they stated they didn't know and continued on with one more video.

"Getting the crash! Getting the sunset. Getting the tits?" Valerie flirted. Business must be easier if you look sexy.

"Yeah, well...It's the talent that matters Val," the cameraman shook off her comment.

"And don't you forget it!" she laughed.

They started filming and Valerie made a few mistakes, needing to start over. She complained about the swarm of bugs around her when the sun disappeared. I became nervous Dracula would make an appearance. She made another error and started again.

I hear water move behind her but was too off at a distance to see what it was. Damn my back! If that was the vampire I don't think it matters if I am seen. I was not about to yell at them till I was sure if anything was even there to warn them about. Maybe that will be a mistake.

I walked towards them as Valerie talked into the camera, "This is Valerie Sharpe. Turn me on at eleven to watch these stupid bugs kiss my..."

Dracula appeared behind her to grab her head and cut her neck. The cameraman was confused and I realized could not see him through the camera, "Behind her!"

"What the fuck!" he dropped the camera as Dracula released Valerie.

Deciding to save Valerie knowing Dracula would kill the cameraman. The way he played with her by cutting her neck only to let her run marked her as a toy he would not readily let go. She would be a vampire. I didn't mind him killing when he needed to, but turning people was for sport and i don't like playing games.

Both she and I ran to the van. Hopping into the driver seat, I could not find the keys to start the vehicle as Valerie panicked in the back. "KEYS! Where are the keys?" I yelled.

"Chuck has them!" referring to the cameraman. Perring back, I could see the video of Dracula snapping his neck and drinking his blood. The vampire then threw the body at the van making it shake. 'If they die first, they do not turn.' Azrael must be close by to claiming the dead. Otherwise, I don't think he would still be talking to me.

The camera was smashed out and we could not see anymore. Moments later, Dracula tore off the door. Valerie yelled, "I don't want to die!"

The vampire wasted no time stretching out his hand, "Then you never will."

Seeing her reach out to take his hand I wanted to stop her. 'No child, if she does not go with him, he will simply claim another.' Fine.

Sneaking out the driverside door and crawling under the vehicle to the body of the cameraman. With the vampire preoccupied I grabbed the keys which fell out of his pocket on the ground. I was crawling back when Dracula laid Valerie on the ground. If he crouched any lower he may have seen me there.

Holding still, I watched as the vampire walked around the vehicle and slammed the door closed, "Where are you Anastasis?! You can not hide from me."

Quickly squirming out the opposite side of the vampire, I bolted to the bush, abandoning the idea of a vehicle. Just as I reached the bush and started up the road, concealed by trees, I hear the car land. Turning around Dracula stood behind me grabbing my throat. He flipped the vehicle and must have seen me running.

"And where do you think you are going?" his voice was all too casual. Maybe even playful.

"Clark Town hall to kill all the vampires you created."

"Tsk, tsk...here I thought we would get along. Why are you causing so many problems, dear Stasis?" he lends horrible close to my face. Stroking his thumb against my neck making me fight hard not to swallow.

"I am only doing my duty. If you must feed, fine. But I can not have a bunch of vampires running around causing me problems. Till you stop, I'm going to be a bit of a problem."

Dracula laughed, "Stop! I can never stop. Someday, I will explain why. Right now though, I am running out of night and I need to find someone important."

"Mary?"

He snickered, "Leave her alone and stay out of my way!"

"I can not promise that. But I can promise you that this will not end with her. She will not accomplish what you what her to."

His grip tightened slightly and he lended against my ear, "And you know this how?"

Should I tell him? No, not yet. "Someday, I will explain." Pulling back to look me in the eyes he smiled, "I hope to see you again soon then, Anastasis." Then he disappeared from before me. Leaving a slight freeze as he sped away. I could still feel his hand on my neck and the other 'effects' it gave me.
