Trent is pacing back and forth, the two men sitting on the bed, just waiting.
"Greg, if I did something to upset you…" Cassidy says nervously.
"What? No," Trent says. "It's nothing like that, Cass."
"You need something to ground you?" Chuck asks. Trent just looks at him before nodding his head. Chuck climbs off the bed walking over to his suitcase sifting through it. He figures Trent needs something he can fidget with instead of a stress ball. He pulls out a fidget cube and a bag of various fidget toys.
"I'll just take the cube," Trent says. Chuck looks back to see Trent nervously biting his fingernails.
"Hey, we talked about this," Chuck says. He stands up, handing him the cube running his hand up and down Trent's arms. "Just tell us what's on your mind."
"It's just…we are going to be staying here for a while it seems," Trent says. "And…I would like to…I want to be with you both. It's just that…I need to be honest with you. That way you'll know why I'm like this."
"I'm listening," Cassidy says. "Did you want to sit?" He stands up going over to the chair pulling it so that it is in front of the TV.
"You…you guys know that my time in WWE wasn't the greatest," Trent says.
"I mean, I don't know the full story, but it's kind of obvious," Cassidy says.
"I was put with Caylen almost immediately," Trent says. "We were young, both didn't really have much experience. It started off fine. Just casual hookups, then we got called up. That's when we met McIntyre."
"Wait, Drew McIntyre?" Cassidy asks.
"He was a different person back then," Trent says. "Had a real chip on his shoulder, he was under so much pressure out there that he pretty much took his aggression out on me." Chuck puts his hand on Cassidy's knee, trying to calm the older man.
"They both…fuck," Trent says looking away his voice breaking. Cassidy grabs one of Trent's hands, Chuck grabbing the other. "I could never really get away from it. It was either be thrown around, beat up…or…"
"Or?" Cassidy asks. "Hey, whatever it is, you can tell me. I'm not…I won't ever judge you."
"Being forced to have sex," Trent says. "And he was never nice about it, never actually gave a fuck about how it felt for me. He just…did it, whenever he wanted."
"We talking about McIntyre or Caylen?" Cassidy asks.
"Caylen," Trent says. "I can't ever go through that again. It's fucked me up so much."
"Yeah, I…I understand," Cassidy says. He shakes his head, all he's ever wanted to do since the moment he met these two men was protect them. He couldn't do anything about this, the damage was already done, but he can help them move past it. "I was there…during Chuck and Hero, so I know exactly the damage it can cause."
"I just…I don't want to be a burden," Trent says.
"No, Greg, you wouldn't ever be a burden," Chuck says, kissing his cheek.
"I'm going to protect the both of you from now on," Cassidy says. "I am the oldest after all." Trent just chuckles. "I love you, Greg. More than I ever thought possible. You…you seem to have forgiven McIntyre."
"Yeah, well, I did that for my own mental health," Trent says. "I was civil with him when I needed to be. He apologized and I've moved on."
"And Caylen?" Cassidy asks.
"I am hoping to never see his face again," Trent says.
"You guys took a long ass time getting together," Cassidy says. "You've been best friends for what?"
"Going on 23 years now," Chuck says. "He's not just my best friend though."
"Is that right?" Cassidy asks.
"He's my soulmate," Chuck says. Trent just blushes at that. "Nothing is ever going to tear us apart."
