I don't own Riverdale and Supernatural.
Chapter 5
During school hours after Ms. Grundy was arrested.
The whole students talked loudly about the charges in the auditorium. Principal Weatherbee came on stage and make an announcement.
"May I have your attention, please? Settle down, now." He spoke on the microphone. Everyone quiet down as they looked at the principal.
"As you heard today, Ms. Grundy has been arrested. It is true. But! We can't reveal much as this is a police investigation. So, if you have any information about it, please notified us, your parents, or the police. Thank you and school will be canceled today. You may go home now."
Few cheers that they get to leave school today. But Archie, Betty, Veronica, Kevin, Jughead, and Hannah did not join them.
Hannah saw Archie look at her. She knew that she was the reason why Ms. Grundy have to be arrested.
Jughead leads her to the lockers as they get ready for their free day. They went to Pop's as they saw many customers making his business boom.
Pop's Chock'lit shoppe has never been fuller.
Pop's Chock'lit shoppe has never felt stranger.
Jughead looked around and said, "I'll find us some seats and your order."
The loud chattering was heard all over. Hannah looked back at Jughead and said, "Yeah, sounds like a plan."
Jughead found the spot for him to write and eat. He opened his laptop and get ready to do his work. He looked around and got his starting point.
"In Riverdale, it means it's nonexistence.
Safe.
And there are no strangers. Everyone knew each other and grew up together. Children are trusted by their friends' parents and parents trusted each other.
However, now everyone is questioning themselves. Who can we trust now?
There is another dark secret that shook the order of the mundane society they lived for years.
And I like to be believed that Jason's mysterious death had started awakening the darkness inside this golden town."
Hannah came back and said, "I order two burgers with fries and two cokes." Jughead nodded as he focuses on his writing Hannah knew that he was in the zone. So, like any future editor, she grabs her papers about Ms. Grundy's records and police investigation.
He is going to need a good writing bid.
"It has been the very first day since Ms. Grundy's arrest. No, not Ms. Grundy. The real Geraldine Grundy was an elderly woman who mysteriously disappeared in 2010. And the very last person who took care of the elderly Grundy. Our former teacher Ms. Grundy is Jennifer Gibson. Jennifer Gibson had done terrible deeds that cause our little town Riverdale turmoil."
Jughead typing in Pop's at the same table with Hannah. The waitress placed their order of two burgers and two French fries with two sodas.
Hannah passed her notes from the police report to Jughead for him to write it down in his book. Jughead briefly stop and smiled at her. Hannah nodded and brought her burger and fries to her side. She helps added ketchup to his burger. He nodded thanks as Jughead return his writing.
"Jennifer Gibson had a history of bringing dangerous liaisons into her life. It began with rumors going around in the neighborhood about a young woman bringing in the same boy for a private lesson. A man named Andrew Gibson heard of this rumor, but he discovers that it was closer to home. He had caught his wife in an illicit affair with a student name Noah Jones who was sixteen at the time. Noah had quickly left when the husband began the physical assault on him and would had continue if not for Jennifer's intervene it. Noah ran out of the house as they both argue and fight. The following day, a neighbor called the police about a disturbance going on in her neighbor's house. The police who were on the night shift job checked in, but nobody answer the door. The officer used his feet to kick down the door and only found the dead body of a man. Butcher and bath in his blood. He called in his units about a possible murder."
Sheriff Keller interrogated Jennifer Gibson who tearfully crying in the room with her lawyer. The lawyer argues with the sheriff with no doubt excuses.
Sheriff Keller shook his head as he glares at this woman. His department lawyer is not sympathetic to the murder suspect either.
"No one was sure who had done it, but it became clear when Noah Jones came forward. He confesses to the police about his affair with his private tutor. The police realized that Jennifer Gibson was the rumored woman having sex with a minor. Noah added that he got a call from her. He said that she was crying and pleading to run away together. They called in both families if they heard anything from Jennifer Gibson."
Jughead paused as he went to grab a bit of his burger which is sweet and juicy enough to eat. He licked his lips and took a big gulp from his coke. Hannah passed the napkins to him which was appreciated. Hannah went back in highlighting the work.
"As they investigated Jennifer Gibson, they found out that Noah Gibson wasn't the first person she'd done this before. It was her deceased husband, Andrew Gibson her first victim. She'd dated him as a college student while he was in high school. During her college years, her friends explains that she has this bad habit or was addicted to the thrill of dating boyfriends who are still in high school. Jennifer Gibson had never shown much interest in dating guys around her age unless they were her tutoring sessions. When they went to apprehend her as she was close to the bridge back in New York, she injured a police officer and killed his partner as she escaped. She changed her appearance when she came to Riverdale. Where we wonder who else became her victim?"
Jughead then pressed saved on his draft as he now wants to eat his meal. He makes sure that his laptop is away as he was about to eat. Out came Betty Cooper, the perfect girl who has to be the best of everything because of the mistakes of Polly Cooper who had lost her marbles over the breakup with Jason Blossoms. Landing herself in the Sisters of Quiet Mercy and keeping quiet from appearing in town gossip.
"Hey Jughead, could we talk for a moment?" Betty looked nervous as she stood there. Jughead looked at her blankly and said, "Whatever you wanted to talk about. You can talk with Hannah here."
Out of all the people in this town, he trusted Hannah more. After all, Hannah is helping him finish the book and solving a case of Jason Blossom's murder. So, far they got their main suspect, Jennifer Gibson. The Blossom is out for her blood now.
Clifford is demanding that schools launched a full investigation on all students and teachers to look for more clues if the fake Ms. Grundy lies about anything else. Penelope Blossom is held by her side of Cheryl as her mother tearfully cries that Jason could be the victim of Gibson as well.
Cheryl looked blankly and questioned the Sheriff, "Is she the reason why Jason never comes home?"
The Blossom wished to know more if she had something to do with Jason.
Betty looked back at Hannah. Lately, she was never sure what to think of Hannah. After all, Betty had been suspicious about Ms. Grundy lately, especially about her relationship with Archie. Betty talked to the student counselor that she did find a gun and a different ID she broke into her car nights ago. Betty never mention that Archie and Ms. Grundy were in a relationship during her meeting. And she didn't plan to. She quickly texts Veronica and Kevin not to mention this at all.
She did see a few parents of the Riverdale and police thanking Hannah for finding out about Ms. Grundy. Hannah said nothing or even talked about it.
Maybe because she never like the attention of other people or simply did what any person would do.
Get justice.
Maybe Hannah could help her after all.
"Okay," Betty agreed as she asked to be the seat next to Hannah. Which the Winchester girl did without question.
"What do you want?" Jughead questioned the Cooper girl.
"Look, I need help."
Her comment made Hannah retort with another answer. "There is the guidance counselor that everyone such as the students including teachers attends in case of the arrest."
"No," Betty backtracked on her words. "I mean," She leaned forward for them to hear. "Jason's murder."
Hannah paused and looked at Betty then Jughead. Jughead looked at Betty and then at Hannah.
"You don't think Jason was killed by Ms. Grundy," Betty stated as she could tell that they know more than they are letting on.
"C'mon, Hannah. Tell her." Jughead said to Hannah she looked resigned as she pick up her folder from her backpack. She pulled out an orange file envelope.
"Ms. Grundy was indirectly involved with Jason's music lesson, but she didn't kill him," Hannah comment as she made the motion that they head back to Jughead's place in the Drive-in theater.
Drive-In-Theater
"Wait, what do you mean Ms. Grundy did not kill Jason?" Betty looked confused or mixer of upset.
Hannah then said, "It is what I said. How can she go from one place to the other?" That is the confusing part, but she noticed the time difference so how could a killer have enough time to do the dead?
Jughead then added, "Archie was with Ms. Grundy during the Fourth of July when he said they heard a gunshot from a distance where they were 'whatevering'."
Betty was going to lie, but…Hannah answered, "Don't play dumb, Cooper. I know that you kind of went a little witch hunt and tell my cousin about her."
Okay, Betty was going to stay quiet for now.
"So, the question is this, how can Jason die on the Fourth of July?" Hannah questioned Betty. "Because he never did die." Hannah finished her statement.
Wait, what?
Betty had to answer, "But Jason was shot. In the head and his body was dumped in the river." Everyone heard about it during the dance when Jason's body was found by Kevin and Moose.
"Not according to these photos and their diagnosis." Jughead brings the pictures to the table. And the lab report statement.
Betty looked at Jason's corpse. How did they get access on seeing the body before the funeral? She shook her head in denial. She will deal with that later.
Betty looked at the statement. And read it.
It said, judging by the lack of sleep. They believed he may have been insomnia since his eyelids are not functioning at all. The victim's body shows physical bones visible on the hips. Sighs of eating depravity or develop an eating disorder which he has shown no history of it. Not much knowledge about what is the victim doing or the chances of getting on the bad side of town.
Betty looked over and said, "This…how…"
"I know a guy from the inside." Hannah is not saying any more than that. Betty would spill the bean when it comes to Alice Cooper.
It was like for instance she was dealing with not an amateur kid who plays around the law. No, Betty felt that she was dealing with a real professional.
"Okay, Ms. Grundy didn't do. So, who did?" Betty looked at Jughead and Hannah.
"That…We don't know." Jughead started it off. "Yet." He added emphasizing his finger in front of him.
"So, which brings us to another question, what can Betty Cooper bring to the table?" Hannah questioned Betty.
This was it.
"I want to restart the school newspaper, The Blue and Gold." She continued and added, "And I heard Jughead is a good writer."
Hannah could tell that Betty is making a white lie, "What's the real reason?"
"Okay," Betty gives up. "I need your guys' help. My parents are lying about something with my sister, Polly. I can't reach her since Jason caused her to be sent to a group home."
"And you want to know what Jason had done to Polly?" Jughead has nothing to say good things about Jason Blossom. He was a bully and womanizer since he dated almost half the girls in Riverdale.
"So, if you wanted Jughead to work with you," Hannah started like she was a lawyer. "he does have the right to refuse or accept the job you are offering. Right Jughead?" He looked at him as he was thinking about it.
"Okay, I could work with The Blue and The Gold." Jughead added, "Though I have some demands. I want my own free written and quick reminders of deadlines. And if you want me in this, you get a package deal by bringing Hannah to be our investigator for our stories."
Betty nodded. "I can work with that."
Hannah said, "Then it is agreed. We will be writing the school papers, but behind that, we are investigating Jason's murder. If we get too deep in this, we got to be smart about this."
"Sure thing." Jughead nodded.
"Okay, then we need to investigate on the Fourth of July," Betty announced as she shakes with Jughead's hand first then Hannah who gave a little stronger grip on her hand. Betty winced as Hannah leaned forward to say, "Be prepared for the real truth that could destroy everything in Riverdale. You ready for that?"
Betty looked surprised, but she became determined. She firmly nodded as she is in mutual agreement with Hannah.
Is time for someone to confess what happens on the Fourth of July?
But it will be in the similar case of Jennifer Gibson, that crime is closer to home.
Reviews are welcome. I decided to reverse a few scenes like Riverdale episodes so here will be the good stuff coming in.
Next Chapter, Cheryl's confession, the slut shaming, the Boy scouts
