Chapter 2

A Wicked Deal

Oh, Lord.

What has he gotten into this time?

This was not supposed to happen on his schedule.

One minute he went out to get groceries, the next, he was fighting a narcissistic overlord with a giant blimp that looked like he was compensating for something, and now, he was walking next to a pompous deer that looked like a demonic knock-off of his former mentor.

Sadly, he was looking forward to arriving at his apartment, even if it was a crappy one in this instance.

Midori was groaning mentally at himself. This situation was beginning to stress him out further.

He should have stayed in bed this time, reading comics and watching cheesy rom-coms.

Yes, he watched those shows after moving into his apartment. Don't judge him on his preference for entertainment.

He would have to blame Moxxie and Blizto for those decisions.

Back in his days, working for I.M.P. He remembers Moxxie watching a sappy soap opera when his wife wasn't around.

It was around the same time he started getting into rom-coms as well. It'd help pass the time, considering he used to live with them.

Surprisingly, Blizto found it interesting and he and Midori, along with Moxxie would find time to watch more programs, similar to it.

That'd brought back a nice memory of the rabbit-themed demon.

This. This is the last thing he expected to happen to him today.

What did this demon even want from him?

Damn it! He needed a strategy. Anything. Anything that would get him out of this situation in the first place!

Let's see. Midori thought about it. While he didn't have access to his original quirk, One For All, he still had the quirks of the other Vestiges and could still use them even if One For All wasn't accessible at the moment.

One scenario he could think of is using Smokescreen to cover his tracks and apply Fa Jin for a quick getaway, which yes, was one attempt he used on his first encounter with this demon.

And that's exactly what he attempted.

Early, not too long ago, Midori used a combination of Smokescreen and Fa Jin to get away from the Radio Demon's tracks.

Midori was relieved that he had gotten a far distance away, far away from the pompous demon.

To his surprise, he felt a touch on his right shoulder, notifying him that the Radio Demon was behind him.

Shit! How in the H-E Double Hockey Sticks did he get here so quickly?!

A teleportation quirk or… some kind of magic as the pompous Overlord explained earlier when he gave his introduction. Midori was tempted not to go back to his original habits, speaking to himself and discussing the possible abilities this demon had on him.

Alastor's radio voice interrupted Midori's thoughts. "Dear boy, while I do love to indulge in games, this is not the time for that. Come on, our walk has increased further due to your stunt."

Crap. And so, Midori was back to square one.

Ignoring his mental pleas, Midori continued walking with the deer-themed Overlord, realizing it would take a little more of his power to throw the bastard off.

For fuck's sake, at least tell the poor boy where they were going.

Midori was annoyed at this point.

'And I thought All For One was the biggest bastard I've encountered. This guy's just weird.' Midori thought to himself.

Alastor, his name was from what Midori could remember. This… demon reminded him a bit of a villain he'd encountered in his past.

One, in particular, was a man named Gentle Criminal. Think about it, he had the same gentlemanly posture but Midori at least knew his goals were harmless, let alone the least menacing villain he's fought in his ex-hero career.

This guy on the other hand was just a murderer, more on the level of villains like Muscular, Moonfish, or Overhaul.

That's all he was to his tired-out eyes. A creepy bastard.

And that alone gave Midori a morbid confirmation about The Radio Demon's appearance and background.

After what seems like an eternity, the demonic animal-themed duo arrived at their current destination.

"And here we are, dear boy!" Alastor shouted with joy.

Midori's eyes looked up, unaware of the sight in front of his green tired-out eyes.

It was a building, decorated with colorful lights.

There was a sign on the front with one of the names crossed out. From what Midori could understand, it was some kind of Emporium, a shop of some sort.

Where was this going?

Why did this demon drag him to some retail store?

"Why are we here?" Midori asked with a deadpan expression on his face.

"We're here dear boy because I need to meet up with a dear colleague of mine."

Colleague? Does this creep have acquaintances? He has gotta see this.

Not wanting to waste further time, the demonic duo entered the shop.

From Midori's first impression, it appeared simple. Tables were set oddly, facing in different directions. Counters had many items and materials on the shelves for clients to purchase. The atmosphere was cozy, Midori would give credit to that but otherwise, something wasn't right.

Why would the Radio Demon take him to a location like this? And who were these colleagues of his?

Either way, Midori was prepared to use one of his quirks in case trouble came his way.

If Midori was going to die in this shithole, he was going to die trying.

Abruptly, the Radio Demon's voice alerted Midori's ears, seizing the rabbit-themed demon's attention.

"Rosie! It's very good to see you, my darling!"

At first glance, it was a slender pale white-skinned demon with sharp white teeth, dark black eyes, and a long neck, nearly the size of a giraffe but not quite exaggerated. She had short white hair, tied up under her red sun hat with skull accessories, and wore a red dress with gray shoulder pads, a black belt, and black wrists.

"Alastor." The pale woman responded, a smile slowly materializing on her expression. "It's been a while since you visited it here. Not since Dear Franklin passed away on last year's Extermination Day."

Alastor smiled in response, taking a hold of Rosie's hand. "My condolences. Dear Frankie was a good man. Wished I could have been there to see him one last time before he bit the dust." Alastor spoke, taking the pale demoness's hand and kissing it, causing the female Overlord to giggle in response.

"Yes, it is a shame. Fortunately, I was able to continue manufacturing business without him." Rosie said, commenting on her fine establishment.

"Indeed. I'll say, this place looks to be an improvement, compared to my last visit." Alastor commented on the excellent business of his companion.

"Indeed, you're quite right. I do have one question for you, who might this guest be next to you?" Rosie inquired, taking a good look at the timid demon in the green hoodie.

"Ah, yes, pardon me for not introducing my guest early on," Alastor spoke, waving his hand to the female Overlord. "I would like to introduce you to this fine young man, Midoriya. Or Midori for a short answer."

Midori underneath his hood, looked up facing the pale white demoness, eyeing him with a hint of curiosity. "It's… a pleasure to meet you, miss. I hope we can get along nicely." Midori bowed in front of the nicely dressed demon.

Hey, just because Midori was in Hell, that doesn't mean he forgot his manners. His mother raised him to be better than that.

He hoped to Kami she rests well in Heaven, along with his loved ones.

"Oh! My, my, I certainly did not expect Dear Alastor to find someone with well-behaved manners such as yourself. Your mother must have done a fine job raising you."

"Yeah, she did…" Midori lamented, reminding himself of one of the few things he couldn't protect when he was alive.

"So could I interest any of you for tea or in your preference, Alastor, coffee, or appetizers for anyone?"

"While the offer does sound pleasing, my Dear Rosie, I must decline the offer. I came here to ask a favor from you."

"Very well, how may I be in your service?" Rosie inquired.

"Well, it is simple. I was hoping you could check this boy's injuries. That and I might need a new suit." Alastor clarified, turning to face the pale-white demon, his wild smirk increasing. "As well, speak to you privately."

Injuries? How did he know? It just offers more questions than answers to Midori.

"Of course, follow me to the back if you please."

Midori sighed to himself, not liking where this was going. But what could he do? He knew he couldn't cause trouble in this establishment here.

Midori growled in frustration, furious at himself. Why did he have to be a coward? Why couldn't he be more like his mentor and childhood friend?

Breathing very much, calming his emotions down, Midori knew he had to be patient.

For now, Midori would play by this bastard's rules. The second he leaves this establishment and once his quirk recharges back to its full strength, he is going to show the Radio Demon who he was messing with.

Once arriving at the back, Midori noticed it was just a small room, with a table and two chairs in the back.

"Alright dearie, if you would, please remove your sweater for me to take a look," Rosie asked politely.

"Fine…" Midori spoke, sitting on one of the chairs, beginning to remove his green hoodie, a white shirt underneath the sweater, and the yellow scarf he had wrapped around his neck.

Once the upper part of his clothes was removed, Midori's white pale body had scars and marks around his arms, reaching to the bottom of his hands.

The most noteworthy scar that caught both of the Overlords was the gruesome scar on his right side, over his ribs.

"My… Out of all my years spent in this damnation, I have not encountered a scar with this much detail." Rosie remarked, both impressed and aghast by the injury itself.

"Yes, especially not from someone so young," Alastor commented, impressed with this boy's hardships.

Rosie appeared concerned but intrigued as well. "Not that it's none of my business but how did you receive these injuries, my dear boy?" Rosie began to ask the green-haired demon in a concerted manner, refusing to believe how a young man, set around in his teens no less, had these scars around his body.

That would be a hard one to answer.

Normally, Midori would keep quiet or quickly comment that yes, it is none of her business but… knowing that these two were powerful Overlords and Midori had reached the time limit of his quirk, there wasn't much of an option but to talk.

"From… an old enemy…" Midori answered.

"Oh, who… perhaps? Someone in Hell you encountered recently?" Rosie continued to ask, a bit intrigued by the subject.

Midori stood quiet, clenching both of his hands, sweat began to pour down his face, not sure how to respond. He didn't want to be rude but he didn't feel comfortable explaining his background to a demon he just met.

Especially not in front of one who caught him at his weakest moment.

Eyeing the Radio Demon, Midori caught a grin, one that appeared with a smirk, hiding his true intentions.

He knew. He knew about his time limit and his true identity.

Rosie however did catch the message due to Midori's silent facial expression. "I see… Well, if you don't feel comfortable discussing it, I won't pry any longer."

"Thank you," Midori spoke, showing gratitude to the pale white demoness.

Guess not all demons were nosy sons of bitches after all.

"Well, since Alastor brought you here, all I can do is tell you this young man needs more rest and should see a doctor at this point."

"Doctors these days have no class. This is what I needed to say, privately to you."

"Alright then, give me a minute here. I'll be sure to look forward to what you'll have to say to me."

"Very well, take your time. I'll be in the back when you're done with this young man here." Alastor said, walking to her back storage, leaving the green-haired bunny demon and the white-haired demoness.

"Well then, dear boy, let's have a further look at your injuries," Rosie said.

Sighing out of reluctance, Midori continued with the check-up. "Alright."

Afterward, the check-up continued and Midori soon began to pray mentally, hoping this part would conclude anytime, exasperated with these damned thoughts in his head.

He couldn't wait for this to be over and get a good night's rest soon.

Ten minutes passed and Rosie walked back to her back storage to discuss matters with her companion, one involving a certain green-haired rabbit.

"Well, Alastor, despite the appalling injuries and scars he has on his body, he's in good health from what I've seen so far."

"I'm glad to hear that, Rosie. That young man has endured so many hardships which makes me question what kind of challenges this young man has faced when arriving in this abyss."

"Indeed." Rosie agreed, taking a hold of her cigarette holder, and lighting a smoke. "So Alastor, what was it that you wanted to speak to me in private?" Rosie asked, continuing to smoke, remembering the injuries she examined on the young man not too long ago.

"Well Rosie, it's about this young man here. In case you didn't know anything about his records or background, this is the infamous Hero of Hell that's been causing quite a ruckus around here." Alastor said, narrowing his eyes at his colleague.

Rosie blinked in surprise, facing the Radio Demon with awe and shock, her smile increasing at his words.

"The Green Devil?" Rosie questioned.

Alastor nodded his head, confirming the answer, his trademark smile still intact on his face.

Rosie giggled in response, her right hand covering her mouth. "Oh my, oh my. I've heard about the Infamous Demon Slayer. I just wasn't expecting someone so… young to be this unknown outlaw."

"Hehehe, I had the same reaction as you, my dear," Alastor confirmed, smiling in the process.

"So what is it you want from me, Alastor?" Rosie asked.

"Well Rosie, I was hoping you could use some… magic to tend to this boy's injuries. As if you couldn't tell, he has great power behind that skinny physique of his." Alastor spoke, reminding himself of the hidden potential of this young man.

Rosie nodded her head in response. "Yes, I could tell from the start. He has great energy, coming from his body. One thing that did catch me off-guard is that it's not like your magic or… any of the other Overlords I witnessed in the past years. He is a particular one after all."

"That is correct, dear. But yes, I sense the potential in this boy. After all, he was the one I've been searching for the past years since his debut, becoming some sort of… "superhero" for the afterlife." Alastor stated, wondering if this boy had the possible talent to surpass him and other Overlords in Hell.

"Hmmm, yes, while I can confirm a magical ritual can heal his wounds, it will take a while. Most presumably, he'll have to make a deal with you to make that suffice." Rosie stated her answer to the red-haired deer Overlord.

"I'll be glad to know that. So to ask one last time, will the ritual commence today or another time?" Alastor inquired, wondering if the ritual had to commence today.

"In time, Alastor, for now, this boy does need more rest before anything can happen." Rosie began to warn of the consequences, her smile not leaving her face. "In the meantime, you did say you yearn for another suit… Correct?"

"Yes, that is correct! After all, I do have somewhere to be and I wanna look my best to represent my image!" Alastor acknowledged her words, tying his bow on his current suit, doing his best to give his best representation in front of his companion.

"Alright, let's see what we can do about that," Rosie stated, going back to her back storage to check on her best features on a suit.

Alastor smiled, happy to gain further support, plus, there was the knowledge of the hidden power this boy held underneath his worn-out appearance.

It would be perhaps the perfect time to test what kind of capabilities he would show. A taste of his true power.

"Bye Rosie! Thank you once again for your time! I'll be sure to visit once more!" Alastor bid adieu, waving his right hand as his white-haired companion did the same in the process.

Midori sighed, hearing the Radio Demon's words.

After leaving the Emporium, Midori and the Radio Demon, Alastor so he calls himself, began to walk to another unknown location.

Midori was wearing his green hoodie once again, covering his hair and bunny ears with the yellow scarf wrapped around his neck for the second time today.

Attempting to make conversation, Midori decided to ask a personal question to The Radio Demon. "So… who was that? Your… wife?" Midori asked, curious about if the Radio Demon of all supernatural existences had a mistress or partner of some sort.

Alastor appeared appalled, his smile not disappearing in the slightest. "Heavens no. She's just a dear friend. Nothing more but a platonic friendship between us."

"Right…" Midori said.

Something wasn't right. Midori could tell. Even without his Danger Sense, he knew this… demon was up to something.

That look.

He heard rumors about The Radio Demon. Examples about how he feeds on other demons by ripping apart their fleshings, consuming them to satisfy his hunger.

He honestly sounds like a villain from his world. Even appears like one.

Fuck, this isn't working.

It'd only been thirty minutes and his quirk hadn't returned yet. Where the hell were they even going at this time?

Again, all Midori could do was wait.

His legs were getting tired. It'd been at least ten minutes they'd been walking and Midori used all of his strength from his last battle with one of the Overlords.

Suddenly, a light flashed from the distance, catching Midori's attention.

In the late distance, Midori noticed a tall building in the background, rivaling the archetype of his former academy, to think he thought U.A. Academy was the biggest building he'd seen.

It had to at least be seven stories tall. An airship, an ocean liner, and a sailing ship were on the right side of the building.

Surprisingly, that wasn't what caught Midori's attention at all.

The words that appeared outside of the building displayed three words in a neon color.

The Happy Hotel.

No way… It can't be.

Midori instantly recognized those words.

It wasn't just any hotel… It was the building that the Princess of Hell owned in the first place.

Why… Why… Why the fuck… did Alastor bring him here in the first place?

Being utterly confused, Midori turned to face Alastor, wanting an explanation once and for all.

"What… are we doing here exactly?" Midori asked the anger hidden in his voice, masked with curiosity instead.

Alastor let out a big smirk like always. "Isn't it obvious, dear boy? We're here to meet up with the majesty of the underworld itself." Alastor confirmed his answer to the confused rabbit-like demon.

"You… Do you mean… the Princess? But why… What do you hope to gain with this?" Midori demands, causing the Radio Demon to smirk, impressed with the boy's willpower.

"Why not?" Alastor asked simply, shrugging his shoulders as his shit-eating grin increased after asking that.

Midori was astounded by the Radio Demon's words and posture. Wait… there was no way… No way… There was no way in Hell this demon believed in this hoax.

"Wait… Don't tell me… Is it because you believe in this stuff… You seek redemption. You of all demons… believe in this crap?!" Midori demanded, shocked at the current location they were standing a few feet away.

Staying silent for five seconds, Alastor proceeded to chuckle, his chuckles becoming a burst of mocking laughter, taunting those silly ideas into portions.

"Don't make me laugh, my dear boy. If anything, this is for the opposite."

Midori was confused. What did the Radio Demon mean by that? "Opposite? What… What are you talking about?"

Alastor chuckled in response. "I mean, this is not for chasing a happy ending or for looking for a better life in the sky above us, no, no, no. It's purely for entertainment."

"Again, what are you talking about?" Midori questioned.

"I'm talking about creating a new type of entertainment for me and other demons to witness on the stage." Alastor proclaimed the excitement increased in his voice.

Midori was beginning to get the gist of the Radio Host's goal. "So… it's not because you're seeking redemption or for the Princess herself exactly but because you're… bored?"

"Precisely, my child. And you are going to play a big role on the road to entertainment." Alastor spoke proudly.

Midori's eyes widened in shock. This demon wanted him to be a part of his shenanigans. "Me?! What do I have to do with this?! I've never asked to be here in the first place!" Midori disagreed, furious with what was going on in front of his eyes.

Alastor shook his head in disagreement, the knock-off smile of his former mentor was still intact on his face. "Come on, Mister Midoriya… I can see it in your eyes, you believe in the cause of redemption. Besides, from other witnesses I've encountered in the past, all of them speak of you in high regard. Saying that you're a hero of some sort and that's what I find entertaining about you!"

Entertainment? That's all that this was to this bastard? Nothing but a fucking joke to him.

"You… my dear boy should become an Overlord like myself, strike fear in those who deserve it! Why I never encountered another demon with an original goal like yours and it is one that many should hear about in one's endeavor!"

Gritting his teeth, Midori was becoming annoyed with this fucking… pompous asshole. That's all this was to him.

A game. Nothing more.

The fact that he treated the ideas of redemption, simply more as a fairytale of some sort… and it got on his nerves.

But why? Why irk Midori so much? Redemption wasn't even a possible concept in this world.

Was… it? At least that's what he heard from most demons.

Still, Midori had enough of this Radio Demon's bullshit.

"Well come on then, Dear Midoriya, let us go over there and introduce ourselves to the lovely demon owner of this fine establishment!" Alastor stated, grabbing Midori's right hand abruptly, invading the rabbit-themed demon's personal space.

"Wait! Wait! That's it?! No other reasons whatsoever!" Midori demanded to know what kind of sick, twisted games this villain was playing.

"Nope, just to have a work of inspiration somewhere. Come on, no time for dilly-dallying, on we go!"

No, no, no, no… He wasn't ready to enter the hotel. Not like this… If the Princess found out who he was, she could send royals after him. Her bodyguards if she had any.

Worse. Her father was the King of Hell for obvious reasons.

Midori's identity and life would be ruined here. He will admit… It wasn't much of a life here, with the crappy apartment, the constant headaches he would deal with when his fourth quirk activates, the pain on the right side of his chest due to his injury, and the constant reminders of why he was here on the first didn't help his cause either.

But… He couldn't either way. He made… a promise to his loved ones he would continue to fight. He would fight for another day when people can live in peace because of him.

If he didn't, then the death of his classmates and teachers would have been for nothing. They would have died in vain and all of his hard work here would have been for nothing.

Not only that but… he wouldn't see the last friends he had in this shithole.

Moxxie.

Millie.

Blizto.

Loona.

No… No… No…

He couldn't allow this to happen once more.

He needed to fight… Fight.

Green fire began to sparkle around his right arm, eyes becoming more demonic-like, and a tone began to shift in the atmosphere.

Fight. That's what his former childhood best friend would say at a time like this. Fucking grow a pair at a time like this.

His face was beginning to morph, becoming more like an animal at this point.

Fight.

The muscles in his arms were becoming more muscular, and his teeth becoming more monster-like. Clenching his cheeks and preparing to use what last strength he had left.

Fight.

Remind himself who he was.

"Yes, my dear boy, I know you're anxious whatsoever but once we arrive at the doorstep, I assure you it will be over soon as…"

Before Alastor could finish his words, a green blur revealing to be a punch ran through Alastor's face, catching the Radio Demon off-guard, and creating a shockwave across the city.

"FIGHT!"

Midori's quirk has now returned.

Speeding toward where the Radio Demon was, Midori began to send a barrage of punches, causing the Radio Demon to spit up blood across the streets from where he was originally laying.

Each punch was like a titanic anchor, infused with lighting and fire. Midori knew he couldn't hold back. His right fist colliding with the delicate cheeks of the demon in front of his emerald eyes brought a smile to Midori's face. It was time for one of his special moves.

"St. Louis Smash!"

Propelling himself from the ground and arching his leg back, Midori swung his leg to deliver a strong vertical roundhouse kick to the Radio Demon's face, knocking parts of his teeth out.

Sending the Radio Demon, blood coughed up from his mouth, Midori quickly used Fa Jin to throw his body further, to deliver another finishing move of his.

Using Blackwhip, the black tendrils wrapped Alastor's body, nearly crushing the bones in the Radio Host's body.

The sounds of bones being snapped in half gave Midori satisfaction, determined to show what he was made of.

Throwing both of his arms, Midori chucked the Overlord a far distance away from the hotel. Thankfully, Midori did the math. Around this time, no pedestrians or cars were driving by, a huge crater was created once the Radio Demon hit the ground with a loud thud.

Demons who were around the environment ran, getting away from the conflict. See, didn't Midori call it? No one got hurt because of their "little scuffle."

Midori in his demonic transformation grinned, satisfied with his accomplishment.

Once the smoke cleared, Midori used Float to land on top of the body of the beaten-up Overlord.

"Who's the entertainment now?"

As Midori took a look at the body of Alastor, his body began to morph, a shadow appearing on his right side.

'Danger Sense!'

Midori jumped back in surprise as the shadow erupted in an explosion, causing cuts to appear on Midori's arms and legs.

Shit! Midori knew that was too close for comfort. Damn! That hurt though!

At least it wasn't fatal and would heal the next day.

Shifting his eyes where Alastor was, the shadows began to morph into a twisted form, swirling around the air, creating a nightmare of an abomination.

Green Fire began to erupt around his body again, Midori began to charge up Full Cowl, in preparation to deal with what sick transformation the Radio Demon would have in store for him.

Suddenly, an explosion occurred, gore splattering around the environment, staining it with piles of entrails and bones, the shadows began to fade away and the body of Alastor was no longer to be seen.

Is… Is that it?

Was the Radio Demon gone for good?

He… He did it. Midori won.

Midori sighed in relief, his transformation fading away.

Green blood erupted violently from his mouth once again, causing another headache for the demon-turned-rabbit.

"Not… Not again!" Midori groaned, wiping the blood once more.

It's okay… He won at least. He can go home now.

As Midori was beginning to walk away from the scene, he could have sworn he could hear whistling in the background.

Midori's head was beginning to get a headache at the sudden whistling. Danger Sense was alerting him.

No… Don't tell him. The whistling got louder and it got close to where he was standing from.

It… couldn't be.

Reluctantly, turning his head to face where the noise was coming from, Midori's eyes widened in shock.

It… was… It was Alastor, appearing like he was in one piece. The injuries and bruises he had early were completely gone.

His teeth were in perfectly good shape, smiling in a very twisted manner.

The fact that he was whistling, acting as if nothing had happened.

He's… He's alive?!

How?! He… shouldn't be alive… not after being flung across miles, far away from their original location. Not after being beaten like a pulp and having your body explode afterward like a meat pinata.

Abruptly, Midori's speculation was interrupted by the distorted voice of The Radio Demon.

"Well, if you're not gonna say it, I'll do it for you." Alastor began to hold both of his hands in the air, clapping in front of the rabbit-themed vigilante, causing him to be confused by this action. "Bravo! You have passed the test!"

Test? What test? Do you mean to tell him this was just a ruse?

"What… What are you talking about?!" Midori questioned, demanding an answer from the red-haired Overlord.

Alastor's smile increased, the clapping becoming more rapid, irritating the green-haired demon further. "It was a test to show your capabilities! To see if you were worthy of becoming a reputable successor of mine! And you passed with flying colors!" Alastor stated, a false chorus playing in the background.

WHAT?! This was just a hoax?!

"You… Do you… mean to tell me this was never meant to be a real battle? It… was just to see if I was good enough for you…" Midori questioned who was at a loss for words.

"Precisely, my good friend! When I saw your previous battles with other Overlords, including your recent one with that snake imbecile, I knew you were… the one that could rival my expectations in terms of power and it was quite exciting, to say the least."

Unbelievably, the radio bastard just wanted him to showcase his power, not only that but make him a part of his little game for the hotel.

No way… No fucking way… The bastard was just toying with him from the start!

"Now that is settled… Come on then, let us introduce ourselves to the Princess." Alastor said, walking over to where the hotel was located.

"No," Midori spoke with a stern tone, causing The Radio Demon to abruptly turn around, a chilling change in the atmosphere began to appear, causing the environment they were in to become darker and darker.

"No?" Alastor questioned.

"You heard me… I said… NO!" Midori screamed at the top of his lungs, his demonic shout began to cause an echo around the current environment, and green fire slowly emerged from the shout, it was clear that another scuffle was about to happen.

"Well… all you had to do was ask nicely," Alastor said simply, his grin further showcasing his yellow teeth.

Midori mentally got a grip on himself. He knew another fight wouldn't change anything. If anything, the cycle would be repeated. Plus, there's a good chance The Radio Demon might harm if he tried anything physical the second time.

With that, Midori decided to use his words, to see if that would do good for once.

Midori began to sigh, irritation was heard in his voice. "Look, I'm tired and… I just want to go home and rest. I don't care about the hotel… I don't even care about redemption at this point. I just want some time alone and wherever you like it or… not, it's my choice!"

Alastor had a poker look on his face. "Very well. Tomorrow, we'll meet at the Klub, located in Pentagram City. I hope you do change your mind, my dear child."

"Yeah… Whatever."

"By the way, take this," Alastor said, snapping his fingers as a small card appeared in the air, landing on Midori's right hand, alarming him with his abilities.

"It's my card in case you wish to contact me in the club. With the directions of course. With that said, I wished you a good day and hope to see you soon in our future endeavors."

Alastor said his goodbyes, before turning around in the opposite direction and continuing to head in the path of the hotel.

Finally, It was over. Midori had nothing to worry about at this moment.

Before he could leave the environment completely, Alastor turned to speak one last word before departing. "Oh and Dear Midoriya."

Goddamn it! What now?!

Midori had a suspicious expression, getting into a defensive pose. What else did this damn demon want from him?! What could be so damn important...

"You forgot your groceries," Alastor recalled, before teleporting the plastic bag into Midori's hands, his green eyes widening in the process.

"Take care of yourself! See you soon!" Alastor gave one last wave, walking away from the demonic rabbit, whistling a tune as he turned to face the other way around and made his way to his next destination.

Midori blinked in surprise, before falling face-fault on the ground with an overtopped expression.

Well… that was moving. At least this trip wasn't a complete waste of his time after all.

Sighing out of relief, Midori stood up and continued to walk home, finally glad to see things went his way for once.

While walking, Midori took one good look at the card that Alastor gave him before he departed.

The card had Alastor's name on it, the directions to where the club was located and a radio logo was located on the bottom right of the card.

A part of Midori wanted to tear the card apart and throw it in the trash but considering what just happen, he didn't have much of a choice here. Midori sighed to himself, placing the card in the green pocket of his hoodie. At least the worst part was over. Midori continued to walk past the wreckage he and The Radio Demon created early in their "quarrel."

Once Midori was out of sight, an ominous shadow popped up from the side of a building, glancing at where the green rabbit demon stood, a blur walking towards home.

"My, he is an interesting fellow after all. Surely, he needs a mentor to guide him at this point. Why not have it be an Overlord perhaps?" Alastor spoke to himself, imagining the thought of this child one day surpassing him.

"Perhaps it is time to make a deal with him once and for all…"

Finally… he was home.

Midori was glad to be in his apartment after dealing with so much bullshit in the last couple of moments.

Once Midori entered the main entrance of the complex, Midori slowly walked through the main hall and passed through a couple of different breeds that consisted of Hellhounds, passed out due to the alcohol bottles scattered around the hall.

There were signs of white powder on the floor with needles sticking out of their right arms. Midori didn't need to guess what that substance was.

What else could it be? Sugar? Yeah… and the sky was all sunsets and rainbows and he was in Candyland.

Please… don't bullshit him. He'd seen two demons fucking in a bus one time when he had to walk home after stopping a Turf War when he reached the limits of his quirk. And they were both not of the opposite gender.

That alone brought shivers down his back.

Arriving at his apartment door, Midori used a small key he had in his pocket.

Thank the Vestiges, he was finally home!

Opening the door, Midori was glad to be home once again as he closed the door behind him and fell face flat on the pillow on top of his bed, dropping the groceries on his floor, not even bothering to take his shoes off.

Oh God, how he'd missed his bed.

So much has happened today and a good night's rest would help relieve that tension.

'Damn it!' Midori cursed to himself, falling into the Radio Demon's games.

Midori didn't even care about the blood, leaking through his hoodie due to his early scuffle. The bed already had disgusting stains when he first moved here so he was adding to the mix.

At least he bought clean sheets for this.

Besides, there were bigger issues at stake.

Thinking back to what the literal hell just happened, the rabbit demon couldn't help but wonder about Alastor's offer. Did he want a successor? Someone, to surpass him in his power?

But why? That's the part that Midori didn't understand. What was so special about him? Weren't there other Overlords with a similar psyche to him? Why couldn't Alastor recruit them for his little shenanigans?

Growling in frustration, Midori knew he was too tired for this shit. His eyelids got heavy, each time he put his mind onto something.

Slowly drifting into an unconscious mindset, Midori went to sleep, unaware of the upcoming dreams he would have.

Open your eyes.

Open your eyes.

Wake up.

Wake up, little rabbit.

Pain shot through his head. His body felt numb in the process.

Opening his eyes, the first thing he saw was the dark sky above him. His body was lying on the cold, hard ground staining his uniform with dirt and rubble in the process.

What happened? Did he arrive too late?

Both of his hands were shaking, and panic struck him like a subway express, running over his body. The blood was pumping in his veins, causing his heartbeat to nearly collapse.

He could sense death arriving everywhere. His head was pounding, and pain and soreness aching due to the stress of the situation. Everything was out of his control.

He was running out of time. Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!

Damn it! Why did he leave?! Why couldn't he stay still for just one damn second?!

Okay, he needed to get a hold of himself. It was only a few miles from where he was.

Acting like a scared child in this situation wouldn't help his problems go away. He was a hero. And he needed to act like one.

He continued to run, jumping up high in the air, commencing to float, flying where he needed to go.

He could hear the voices in his head, shouting to him he was walking into a deadly trap. But he didn't care.

This was his fight. And no one else.

He was reaching close to where the city was, close to where the battle took place. If only he'd listened to the plan, none of this would be happening!

His headache got worse each second. His fourth quirk was getting on his nerves. It was like a mental alarm he could never shut off.

In the far distance, two blurs were moving, blows were taken, and the ground began to shake due to this movement.

Crap! He had to hurry! He knew he couldn't be late. More people meant more blood would be on his hands.

The headache kept pounding each time he got close to his destination. It was a motivator that was both uplifting and tiresome as well.

The voices in his head continue to warn him to get out of there. Let his friends handle it! He needed to worry about his safety first! How could he protect those if he wasn't alive to do so?!

The first thing Izuku saw was red. Blood red. Unfortunately, it wasn't his blood on the floor.

"Kacchan!"

The last thing he was half a face, covered in blood, his chest having a massive hole, entrails outside his organism.

Tears fell from Izuku's cheek, sadness and rage taking control of his emotions.

"Dek…Dek… Deku…"

"Sorry… I didn't get that… autograph you wanted…"

Sadness came first then sorrow and now anger was his current emotion.

With that, his world came crumbling down.

OPEN YOUR EYES!

A scream erupted from Midori's mouth. The noise caused the apartment to turn most of its lights on, alarmed at the sudden, booming commotion.

Bangs were heard on the left side of his wall in the apartment.

"HEY! KEEP IT DOWN! I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FUCKING SLEEP HERE!" The next-door neighbor complained, causing Midori to shake his head out of irritation.

Waking up in a cold sweat, Midori cursed to himself as he continued to wipe the sweat from his forehead.

'Another nightmare… Why doesn't that surprise me?' Midori mentally thought, taking a breather, glad the dreams were over…

For now.

Midori slowly got off his bed and removed his dirty hoodie, placing it on his desk. Midori went to his closet and grabbed a black tank top.

Midori removed his white shirt and placed the black tank top, his visible scars, and injuries showing on both of his arms.

Heading to his refrigerator, Midori grabbed a fresh water bottle, chugging a quarter of it with one gulp, taking another mental breather, and attempting his best to forget about his problems.

'They're just dreams, Midori. They are just dreams. He can't hurt you. You killed him after all. You avenge your friends at least. That is what's most important…'

Midori sighed, clenching his open fist, reminding himself to escape the pain.

What else could he do in this situation? Cry? Ha! That's in the past. Crying wouldn't do anything for him.

He wasn't the crybaby back in middle school. He was a vigilante… Worse, he was a murderer and that's what offered him a front-row seat, trapped in this dark abyss for the rest of his afterlife.

At that point, not many offers and choices were offered to him.

There was only one thing he could do.

Survive.

It's kill or be killed.

This was Hell after all. There are no rules, no laws, and no perfect system in a jurisdiction. It's bullshit but hey, it's how the world works here.

He was no better than the shitheads and villains who were sent here to rot for their sins.

Although, there was a small silver lining if he could call it that.

The image of a building came into his head. An offer was granted to him.

The words began to haunt him. Sweat continued to fall down his forehead.

No… Wait… No…

He couldn't… Could he? Perhaps what if the Radio Demon wanted to help him? If he truly wanted him dead, he would have been killed on the spot there.

Right?

Damn it! Fuck, why did it complicate things?! That man, no that fucking psychopath was just messing with him at this point?!

Midori shook his head in frustration, stuck in the middle ground.

It wasn't just The Radio Demon on his mind but the Princess and the hotel too.

But with the Princess, it was for a different reason.

Not out of love.

As he said before, ever since arriving in Hell, Midori could care less about having romantic feelings or even sexual ones for another person.

He simply lacked the attraction. Not that matters to him.

Anyway, Midori was getting off-tracked.

But what did get Midori's attention is that unlike most demons he encountered here, she had goals and ambitions.

She… wanted to help people in her way.

No… Forget about helping, she wanted to rehabilitate them. In her eyes, there was good in everyone, even in the worst pieces of shit and trash on the scum in Hell.

But saying it like that was ridiculous since everyone here was scum. He of course wasn't a saint as well. The opposite? His presence here was proof of that.

He was a bastard, among the rest of the freaks here.

But then, there's the subject of redemption. A soul being saved, transferring it into Heaven.

Okay. Maybe there was another way around this after all.

Maybe… Just maybe… He could see everyone again… By making amends and starting over…

No! It can't happen.

It wasn't going to work. Not with him being the most wanted vigilante in Hell.

Are you kidding him? Him?! Working in the hotel, risking exposing his identity!

It's bad enough the Radio shithead knows about his identity and now he wants this… girl to know who he was.

Imagine if both The Radio Demon and The Princess of Hell turned on him, forcing him into solitude into another life.

If it came to that option, he would fight like he always has. Even if the world has turned against him.

Midori pinched his nose, taking another deep breath, his anxiety closing in with his heart beating rapidly on a constant note.

"All Might. What would you do?" Midori asked himself, wondering what his former mentor would do in this situation.

Maybe… This was the only way to save his soul.

It's because of him, tons of people were safe from Turf Wars and Overlords due to his heroic actions.

He was a hero to these people. A champion of some sort.

So… would that qualify as a cleanse to his soul?

Reaching into the bloody pocket of his hoodie he placed on his desk, Midori got a good look at the card Alastor had given him.

A way… to contact him.

Midori knew it was too good to be true but… either way, what was the worst that could happen? He's already here so nothing would change in that regard.

No matter, Midori already made a decision.

"Well, this is where he wanted me to meet him."

Arriving at a small club called Klub Kaiju, Midori managed to sneak in from the back entrance using Smokescreen and Fa Jin to get past the security cameras.

Wearing a dark green hood and black cargo pants along with his yellow scarf, Midori was walking across the main area.

Multiple demons in the background were dancing to the upbeat music, televisions of games we were playing as other demons began betting on which team would win, unaware of the small green rabbit's presence.

Even in the infamous underworld known as Hell, Midori was still considered to be the most plain-looking demon, sharing a common trait from his previous life on Earth.

It was nostalgia in a way. Cruel nostalgia but nonetheless.

Ignoring most of the lowlifes here, Midori quickly noticed a red figure, sitting in an empty chair, drinking to himself.

It was Alastor. This was it. He now made up his mind.

And he hoped it was the right one.

Walking up to the Radio Demon in a casual sense, Alastor's smile widened, anticipating the green demonic rabbit's presence.

"Hello there, Young Midoriya! Fancy seeing you here!" Alastor spoke, pleased with Midori's presence here.

"I told you to never call me that!" Midori shouted, irritation leaking through his voice, catching the attention of various demons in the dance room.

"Apologies, I just wanted to poke fun at you. After all, we are acquaintances. We should get to know each other as soon as possible." Alastor said, nudging his arm on Midori's left arm as the demons ignored their conversation, resuming their debauchery and dancing to the noisy music in the background.

Rolling his eyes out of irritation, Midori quickly took a seat. He'd better do it before he changes his mind.

"So, may I get you a drink? That is if you're old enough." Alastor lightly jokes.

Midori rolled his tired eyes. "Water's fine."

"Hear that, my good man. One water for my young acquaintance here." Alastor said, the bartender behind the bar, who turned out to be a fish demon reluctantly agreed, pouring a glass of clear water into the cup.

"Yeah… acquaintances… right., Midori said, taking the water in his hands. "Listen, I thought about your offer… and I think it's best for what has to happen next."

"Oh! And what might that be?"

Midori hesitated for a few moments, rethinking what his next words were going to be.

"I'm in."

Alastor's smile widened, excited about what was about to happen.

"My dear boy, that's all I wanted to hear from you," Alastor stated before green fire emerged from his right hand.

And with that, a deal has begun between them.

Let's just hope it goes Midori's way in the chances of being seen in a better light here.

AN: Hello Everyone! Chapter two of Hero's Hell has finally come out after the past months since it was posted!

Special thanks go to Meraj Alimi (King 101) for helping beta this story! Could not have done this without their help! Has helped me with past work such as my DS/MCU, SW/Kuroinu, and HP/MHA fics! Can't thank you enough!

Oh boy! Izuku/Midori is kinda screwed here! He's basically like a Demon Punisher/Batman with the crappy lifestyle and morals of Peter Parker. Sucks that a certain Radio Demon got to him first before anyone in the underworld. But honestly, Alastor is probably the best choice from most if not all Overlords.

Alastor is going to play a major role in this story and will sorta play the "All Might" role to Midori as a Joker-like mentor. So that would be interesting to see!

Other characters from Helluva Boss might make an appearance, considering Izuku/Midori's past relationships with them such as IMP. Maybe some MHA characters as easter eggs or references but we'll see shortly.

Someone in PM did ask me if there was going to be a pairing, and just like with my MHA/Avengers fic and this might disappoint you but it will NOT be a harem considering I want this fic to be something more original.

For a single pairing, it is ambiguous at the moment, mainly because at the moment, Izuku/Midori isn't interested in romance or sleazy subjects. So it would have to wait for a bit.

Until then, I do hope this is a more original crossover and that is the goal for all my fics. One where it doesn't have Naruto or any other MC as the main protagonist, just to be pointless fanservice in a lot of fics. Again, no hate for those fics!

With that said, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter and once again, feel free to follow me on my Discord channel in Emerald Library and my SpaceBattles account as well. PM me if you feel more comfortable chatting. Any feedback helps me deliver more stories and helps my content grow bigger!

Please leave a favorite, follow, and review and I hope to see you next time!

Stay safe, stay awesome, and have a wonderful day! Adios!
