Chapter 17 - Labor, Laurel, and Love

"Very well. Lian and I will gather foods that please Kleavor, in hopes that we might be able to get close enough to make him a proper offering," Irida said, recapping the plan for all of them. "The Pearl Clan and Galaxy Team will each provide a squad of battle ready humans and Pokemon to keep Lord Kleavor contained and act as backup if needed. As for you," she locked eyes with Kassi, "find a way to quell his frenzy, even if you must search every corner of vast Hisui!" Her face was stern, but clearly full of worry. The plan had many risks, especially for Kassi, but with each passing day Lord Kleavor had grown more and more reckless. She had wanted to move soon, but Kassi had insisted on two days to prepare.

Once the talks were done Kassi and Akari departed for the Village. They decided that one more stomach lurching warp back to Kassi's dorm was the best use of time. With two days to prepare that meant Kassi had time to get the Lopunny form, then train with her forms and her team so she was safe. When they'd recovered from their teleportation, and refilled their stomachs with food from Akari's pantry, they first went to Galaxy Hall to collaborate with Professor Laventon and Captain Cyllene.

Kassi still left both of them out of the knowledge of her Alpha forms, but insisted that she wanted undisturbed training for the next two days which was granted. Professor Laventon also had the idea to have the favorite foods for the Kleavor placed into throwable pouches for what he deemed, "calming balms". The idea seemed silly to Kassi, but he was so energetic about the idea that she indulged him. He even agreed to take the idea to Irida and Lian himself.

Captain Cyllene gave Kassi requisition slips for a length of chain and a pouch of something called Grit Gravel. The former was something Kassi had requested under the pretense of strength and resistance training for her Pokemon. The latter was apparently a local stone that was known for boosting the strength of Pokemon.

Quartermaster Tao Hua treated the signed requisition slip as if Kassi had somehow cheated the Galaxy Expedition Team out of their very last Pokedollar. He launched into a tirade while fulfilling the request. The entire time he was lambasting her for her temerity Kassi used her powers to speak directly with Akari and kept making jokes about the old man until the cool beauty finally broke out into a fit of giggles.

This happened in the middle of Tao Hua calling Kassi a "debu-chested warugaki", whatever that was, and it caused the old man to turn his insults on Akari. By the time they were done and had their items the old man practically chased the pair out while threatening to thump them with his cane. They were giggling like school girls the entire time.

"Where do you think we should do this?" Kassi asked, adjusting the heavy chain loop on her shoulder.

Akari thought it over and then smacked her fist into her palm. "Meet me at the barn in the pasture at sunset. In the meantime go deliver the worker Pokemon you have collected so far except for your Rapidash. We will need his assistance to keep the Lopunny under control I think." With Kassi's help soon she and the Rapidash more than twice her height were walking away with all the ropes and chain slung across his haunches.

Kassi nodded and set off towards the fields. For the walk she let Cyndi walk beside her and stretch her new legs. It was a sunny but cool fall day in Hisui and having the hot Quilava walking beside her kept the worst of it at bay.

The man in charge of the field labor was a short, wiry looking man named Miller. His skin was deeply tanned and leathery after a lifetime of toil spent under the sun. He was also in need of a bath.

"Mr. Miller, I've noticed that you and your workers are having a bloody awful time with the fields due to large rocks and boulders." She started after their curt introductions.

"Oh aye. This land here's never been worked by human hands, far as we can tell. Those Clans don't go in for much agriculture it seems. So far all we seem to grow are rocks. Which why we're still workin' with winter comin'." The man chuckled a warm and gravelly thing.

Kassi smiled. Miller reminded her of all the old farmers that used to hang out at the market in Wedgehurst. They'd always make the same joke about their fields and chat about the same things every market day.

"Well, I have brought you a solution as well as a way to keep the fields watered." Kassi said then eyed the old farmer.

He raised a bushy salt and pepper eyebrow, but didn't speak.

"I have with me four Geodude that I caught to help work these fields and a Bibarel that can water the ground as well as build and maintain a dam-works for the creek for you."

"Pokemon are dangerous lass. I don't," he crossed his arms.

"How about a contest then?" Kassi cut him off.

"Buh..what? Contest?"

"Yes. Five of your best men versus one of my Geodude. If they can pull more stones in 15 minutes than my Geodude can in 5 you win." Kassi put her hands on her hips and puffed out her chest with confidence.

"What are the stakes?" Miller was now scratching at a stubbly chin and watching Kassi like she was an Ekans poised to strike.

"If I win, you give the Geodude and Bibarel food, a place to sleep, and promise to care for them," she counted the terms out on her fingers. "Also I want a percentage of either the grain or profits from the fields my Pokemon tend to. Say…five percent."

"And if'n we win?" Their conversation had drawn a few of the fieldhands over and they were listening intently, as well as eyeing Kassi like she was a feast.

Kassi took a second to look around and could practically smell the desire of the men around her, buried under a pungent funk of sweat and body odor. "If you win then I'll willingly let all of you have your way with me. One at a time or all together. Your choice." To drive her point home she reached up and tugged at the opening to her yukata, giving the sweaty laborers a healthy flash of cleavage.

That was more than enough incentive for the men. Several hands shot into the air and there was a clamor as Miller tried to sort out which men would attempt her challenge.

Kassi walked away a few paces and chose one of the Geodude at random.

The one that appeared wasn't very large, but it did have a wiley look in its eye as it appeared.

"Greetings. I'm Kassi. I'm the Trainer who caught you." Kassi lowered herself down to her knees so she would seem less threatening. "I have a proposal for you. If you win this contest for me you'll get a safe place to live, all the rocks you can eat, and maybe even the chance to evolve without fear of being cracked open like a Cloyster for dinner." With her words she tried to push the thoughts at the small angry rock.

His mind was slow, like trying to push thoughts through mud, but soon her intentions became clear.

"Safe nest. Lots of food. You swear?" He said while grunting, "Geodude" over and over again.

"That's right. All you have to do is dig up as many rocks as you can from when I say start to when I say stop. Use any moves you want." She tried to scour the Geodude's mind for a desire that would give him an extra push to succeed. Getting gangbanged by a bunch of sweaty fieldhands wasn't in her schedule and didn't sound like it would be entirely enjoyable.

The Geodude bounced, flexed his arms, and grunted, "DUDE!" as a look of determination crossed his brow.

Kassi stood up and looked to Miller, who nodded that his men were ready. The five that had been chosen were all younger men with strong backs and arms and they held their shovels like their lives depended on it. More than one of them were eyeing Kassi like she was a buffet, and they hadn't eaten in weeks. Even from a distance she could see several tents on the front of trousers

Bloody hell. Poor fellas look soo pent up. I wonder if Azure's rates are too high for them? Maybe that's what she wanted me to do. Really glad I beat that exam now.

"Begin!" Miller shouted. He'd produced an hourglass from a sack of tools and Kassi started a stopwatch on the ArcPhone.

For ten minutes the air was filled with a cacophony of grunts, the sounds of shovels pawing at earth, and the frequent clink of metal striking stone. The five men worked at a furious pace, quickly doughing their tops to let their glistening skin cool in the brisk fall air. If it hadn't been for the lack of deodorant and that most villagers only got a single bath token a week, Kassi thought she might have been tempted to give them a prize anyway. It was certainly fun to watch them as they worked though.

When the stopwatch hit 10 minutes she looked to Miller and he nodded an agreement to her.

"Go Geodude, use Bulldoze!" Kassi shouted. It wasn't necessary, but it put on a good show for the men and gave them a command to use later.

The Geodude growled, then slammed itself into the ground. A section of earth 5 feet in diameter was instantly churned into soft, harrowed soil. He dove into the softened dirt and started to swim like it was water. Each time a rocky paw lifted out of the ground a rock or handful of pebbles was deposited onto the ground. Kassi gave him a mental nudge to move in straight parallel lines leaving one of his body widths between each line. Soon each line had a pile of stone and rock stacked neatly beside it.

5 minutes later she stopped her stopwatch and nodded to Miller. With a sigh, he nodded as well. The Geodude wasn't even panting as it returned to her side and the five workers who'd been toiling doubled over in heaving gasps. Their effort had been commendable. In 15 minutes they'd managed to complete what was usually half a day's work and get nearly a single strip of the field harrowed and mostly destoned.

That was no contest to the 5 full strips that the Geodude had done in a third of the time. Not only was it faster, but once Miller and Kassi inspected the work of each party, the Geodude's furrows were almost completely devoid of any stone larger than a thumb.

Happily, Kassi praised the Geodude, gave him his reward, and named him Barry as well as the leader of the Field-Hand Pokemon Squad. The men returned to work grumbling while Kassi turned over the remaining Geodude's Pokeballs as well as the one for the Alpha Bibarel and a random Buizel she'd forgotten about in her satchel.

"Do they all need names like that one?" Miller asked, motioning to Barry who was noisily chomping on the pit of a Greppa Berry.

"Up to you and your men. If you think they need them or have earned them, name them." Kassi spent another few minutes instructing Miller in caring for the Pokemon and then making a bargain with the Bibarel for his work. His deal had come at a personal cost to Kassi. He wanted to get his rocks off once a week for his efforts. He agreed to make a dam that was secluded and clean and to work hard for the humans. Kassi ended up naming him Doofenshmirtz, which made her giggle each time she said it, but seemed to make the Bibarel swell with pride.

I miss being able to watch shows like Finizen and Feebas…and movies. Wonder if his dam will try to dominate the Tri-Region Area? She couldn't help but audibly giggle at the thought as she walked over to the workers.

"Gentlemen, thank you for all your hard work today," she addressed the workers as she prepared to depart. "As a thank you for being such good sports, and in order to entice you to work hard alongside the new Pokemon, I will make you a deal. If you work hard and care well for the Pokemon… and provided you all bathe right beforehand…" she paused for dramatic effect, "I will host a bukkake party with myself at the center on your first successful harvest." She quickly opened her top and flashed the men, even bouncing on her heels twice to add a nice jiggle before closing back up and turning on her heel to go. The sound of a raucous cheer followed her as she left towards Naomi's bakery.

Her visit with Naomi was pleasant, but brief as the poor woman looked like she was being worked to the bone. Kassi offered her the Vespiquen and Combee she'd caught to help her out with pollinating the garden she used for baking and medicines. She was hesitant at first, but then when Kassi explained the system that was used widely back home for housing and keeping the hive for a share of their honey, she agreed to try. Kassi also handed over the ball for the Mothim and Beautifly to use in an emergency if the hive ever got too out of hand.

One of the large doors on the front hung slightly ajar and soft lamp light was starting to pour out onto the well-trodden dirt path before it.

Peaking into the stall where the humming was coming from, Kassi saw that Akari was working on a complicated array of pulleys, ropes, and the chain. Andre stood in the stall across from Akari, lazily chewing on some oats.

When it ended, Akari had a mischievous grin on her face. "Now," she pulled away and gestured to the tangle of ropes and restraints, "we need to get you to lay with the Lopunny."

Akari's plan came with three options. First, was to attempt the same process as they had this morning. Summon the Lopunny while it was drained of the Alpha Energy and see if they could reason with it. Failing that, part two was why Andre was present. He would use Hypnosis to knock the Lopunny either asleep or loopy for long enough for it to be bound. Part three, if both of those failed, was to have Kassi and Andre both attack together until the Lopunny was nearly unconscious and Kassi would use Alpha Energy herself in her Hybrid Rapidash form to submit the Lopunny. All three of them hoped it wouldn't get down to the last one.

Kassi stripped naked and placed the Pokeballs for her entire team on one of the fence boards facing the rope harness so they could release themselves if they felt the need to help. Finally, she double checked the Lopunny was completely drained, and summoned her.

The nine foot tall Alpha Lopunny appeared in a flash in the stall, her feet placed within the circles of rope that would hoist her into the air if Andre stepped on the trigger by his hoof. That would cause the elegantly designed series of ropes and pulleys to snap upwards and essentially place the Lopunny in midair with arms and ears pinned to her sides while her legs were spread wide. All of it held in check by the weight and strength of the massive Rapidash.

When she appeared, the Lopunny quickly snapped her head up and wild eyes darted around the room, trying to assess the danger she was in. Kassi immediately tried to push a wave of calmness and feeling of safety in her direction. It partially worked, but the sense of confusion and panic were still palpable even without Kassi having to use her telepathy.

It took a few minutes of soft speaking and gentle cajoling to eventually get the Lopunny calmed down enough to open a dialogue. Then, when Kassi had shared the fate of the male Lopunny the poor Pokemon had become distraught. Apparently they had grown up together as Buneary and were as close as any two souls could be.

With that revelation, the poor Pokemon became distraught. However Kassi had thought tonight would go…consoling a nine foot tall sobbing Lopunny as it cried in the fetal position for two hours was not on the list of possibilities. It was made all the more awkward by the presence of Akari and Andre, who were stuck watching out for Kassi, but not privy to the silent conversation that passed between her and the Lopunny.

That night ended in a wash and Kassi ended up spending her time consoling Laurel until she'd fallen asleep. The next morning Akari had roused her before the ranchers arrived so she could go on a fetch quest for a new Lopunny.
