In case you haven't read the summary, this story centres around one of my OC Naruto characters (cringe I know, but hey ho)
I know that OC stuff is not for everyone, if so that's cool, no hard feelings.
Long time no post, a combination of procrastination, not knowing what to right then reading what I wrote and realising it was shit leading to a rewrite lead to the big gap
Shinobi Exchange Students at Beacon Academy
Chapter III – School Life
"I hope you understand that attacking students like that, regardless of where they come from, is not acceptable at this school", Ozpin stated to the four Team CRDL.
"I will not accept any more outbursts like that; consider yourselves warned", Ozpin stated.
The four of team CRDL were very annoyed; rather than taking what Ozpin said to heart, it made them hate the Shinobi even more.
Everyone had found the rooms they would be staying in; The door to the room was controlled by the device that Remnants called "Scrolls", how the rectangular box of glass and plastic looked like a scroll was beyond the four Shinobi.
Compared to the more utilitarian design in the Elemental Nations, the rooms are designed with comfort over utility.
"The beds are comfortable. I'll give them that," Temari said, sitting down on the bed and crossing her legs.
Arashi took off his Flak-Jacket, Shuriken shooter and Kunai pouch. Arashi left his Katana in the lockers provided to keep the staff at ease, and Temari left her fan, but all Shinobi kept the Kunai pouches and Shuriken shooters.
"They are quite comfy", Arashi replied.
Neji just sat; he looked like he was in deep thought. On the other hand, Shikamaru looked ready to go to sleep.
"I'm going for a smoke on the roof", Arashi stated.
The others just nodded and went back to doing their own things.
Arashi took out his cigarettes and lighter, walked over to the window and opened it. He walked up the wall and onto the roof to smoke.
Arashi looked out over Beacon from his rooftop, 'I guess it is rather nice here, all things considered,' Arashi thought.
Arashi watched the sunset; once it was dark, Arashi went back inside.
The following day the Shinobi unpacked. They did not have much; most of their things were stored in scrolls.
It did not take them long to finish, and there were a few hours until the first class. The Shinobi got breakfast and waited around until class.
"Professor Port is teaching Grimm Studies?" Neji stated.
"Those things you killed in the forest yesterday?" Neji asked.
"Yes, I believe they were creatures of Grimm", Arashi replied.
"The locals make a big thing of them, but they seemed rather weak", Temari stated.
"I assume there are others, far stronger than those two", Shikamaru added.
"It's because the locals can't fight", Temari interjected.
"You can look at me whatever way you want; it doesn't change the fact", Temari stated, feeling the stares from her teammates.
After waiting around, it was time for class; all the students piled in, except for teams RWBY and JNPR. The four Shinobi sat at the back of the class, wondering what they would be learning.
"Seems like your friends aren't here", Temari stated
"I wouldn't call us friends, acquaintances maybe", Arashi replied.
"Although would it kill you to be civil, at the very least?" Arashi enquired.
"I'm here because I wanted to assess their combat readiness, not to make friends", Temari stated
Arashi couldn't argue with her logic.
With a few minutes to spare, teams RWBY and JNPR ran into class.
After the two teams sat down, Professor Port began his lecture, which the four Shinobi found unbelievably dull.
Later in the class, Weiss volunteered to fight a Grimm.
Neji activated his Byakugan to watch the fight.
Weiss was pushed back and lost her weapon.
"You've got this, Weiss, " Ruby said to encourage her teammate.
"STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO", Weiss shouted at the young girl.
"Rather harsh", Neji stated.
"She is certainly a Schnee", Temari stated.
Eventually, Weiss got her sword back and killed the small Grimm creature.
Professor Port congratulated Weiss on her victory. Stating that "We are in the presence of a true Huntress in training".
Arashi, Neji and Shikamaru could feel the sarcastic comment coming before Temari made it.
"Clearly, not like she got frustrated and lost her weapon or anything" Temari stated.
Arashi and Neji decided to ignore the comment while Shikamaru sighed.
"It's going to be a long four years" Shikamaru thought.
"Now, we have time for one more test of might, would anyone else care to take on a Grimm, to test their might" Professor Port asked the class.
No one seemed to want to volunteer.
Neji raised his hand.
"Ah, one of our Shinobi guests, wonderful" Professor Port stated.
"Neji Hyūga, is that right?" the Professor asked.
Neji nodded and stated, "Yes, that's correct".
There was a mix of looks around the class as Neji made his way to the front of the class, some looked at him with hate, others were more curious, and a couple were excited.
Weiss looked annoyed, however, she was confident in her outcome, while Arashi had scared her in the forest yesterday, he was a Jonin after all, Neji however, was simply a Genin, how strong could he be she wondered.
Neji took his stance, crouching slightly, his left arm pointed down in front of him, his right arm extended upwards behind him, and his palm pointed upwards.
"What kind of fighting stance is that" Weiss mocked.
As Professor Port opened the cage, Neji activated his Byakugan, the monocoloured eye gaining dark accents, the veins around the eyes protruding.
"What's that?" Blake asked looking at the veins that appeared.
"It's called the Byakugan" Arashi pointed out appearing next to Ruby.
Ruby, Blake, Weiss and Yang all jumped at the sudden appearance of the Shinobi.
"Bya what now?" Yang asked.
"The Byakugan, or in your language the All Seeing White Eye" Arashi told the group.
"What does it do?" Blake wondered.
"It allows the user greater perception, you can see through walls, the Charka network of a Shinobi, perfect 360-degree vision, and the microscopic Chakra pressure points along the Chakra network" Arashi stated.
There was one blind spot, but Arashi wasn't going to tell them that.
"Can anyone use it?" Pyrrha asked.
"No, only members of the Hyūga clan can use it" Arashi stated.
"Much like your glyphs" Arashi stated looking at Weiss.
Weiss looked shocked, "You know of my family's glyphs?" Weiss asked.
"Yes" Arashi replied nonchalantly.
This seemed to annoy Weiss, she then remembered she did not like the Shinobi and turned away from Arashi.
"Seems like quite a useful ability" Blake stated.
"You could say that" Arashi replied.
Ruby was uncharacteristically quiet, Arashi observed, turning his attention to Neji.
Everyone, even Weiss, although she wouldn't admit it looked on to see the fight.
The Professor opened the gate on the cage and a Boarbatusk ran out, with his Byakugan active, Neji waited as it rushed towards him.
Moving to the side easily, Neji planted his palm into the side of the creature, and it dropped dead.
"WHAT" Weiss stood up and shouted, drawing some looks, then sitting back down embarrassed for her outburst.
"You… You hardly touched it" Yang stated, not caring how loud she was.
Neji looked at Yang and Weiss while his Byakugan was still active, it creeped them out.
Neji then deactivated his Byakugan and walked back to his seat.
"Bravo, Bravo I say, exemplary work, young man" Professor Port stated.
This served to further infuriate Weiss.
"What was that" Yang asked Arashi.
"It's called gentle fist" Arashi replied.
"You and I and everyone here, when we attack, we focus on breaking bones, but gentle fist, that focuses on disrupting the flow of Chakra and damages the organs directly by injecting the users' Chakra into the target" Arashi explained.
"And that All Seeing Eye will allow him to see the best spots to target inside the body" Blake hypothesised
"Correct" Arashi replied.
"A fighting style, only really suited to those of the Hyūga clan then" Pyrrha stated.
Arashi nodded in the affirmative to Pyrrha.
Most of the students were in shock, they had all thought Weiss had done a rather good job, but Neji made her look pathetic.
Soon the bell rang, and Professor Port dismissed the students.
"If I had to listen to him talk about why his grandfather smelled of cabbage for one minute longer, I was going to go insane" Temari stated, clearly annoyed.
Shikamaru seemed to agree with Temari this time, while Neji remained deadpan.
Arashi seeing Ruby from the corner of his eye said.
"I'll see you all back in the room, I'm just going to go do something"
"See you then" Neji stated.
Shikamaru raised his hand as he walked away, as a 'see you later' gesture.
Temari looked at Arashi with narrowed eyes.
"Just acquaintances" Temari stated.
Arashi smiled, stating "It doesn't hurt to be friendly", he then proceeded to walk away, blending into the shadows.
Arashi listened in on Ruby and Weiss' spat.
"Not a team lead by YOU, I've studied, and trained and quite frankly deserve better, Ozpin made a mistake" Weiss stated, storming off.
Arashi looked at Ruby for a moment, he wasn't sure if he should say anything, but he eventually decided he would chat with Ruby for a bit.
"Hey, Ruby, teammate trouble?" Arashi asked.
Ruby was startled at the sudden appearance of the brown-haired Shinobi.
"Oh, Arashi, it's you" Ruby said when she recognised who it was.
"Where did you come from?" she asked.
"Doesn't matter, what does matter is you and Weiss" Arashi replied.
"Do you think I should be the team leader?" Ruby asked.
"That's not for me to decide, Ruby" Arashi replied.
"A good leader acts in the moment and takes into account all the variables they can, titles and fancy qualifications mean nothing if you can't adapt" Arashi added
"But what Weiss said" Ruby stated.
Arashi smiled, looking like he was remembering something, he decided to tell Ruby a little about himself when he was younger.
"You know, when I was made a Genin and put into a team with other two other Genin, Ryuu and Kamiko, we really did not have great chemistry" Arashi stated.
"We all thought we knew best, wouldn't work as a team, letting each other fight one on one." Arashi continued.
"What happened?" Ruby asked.
"We went on a mission, got attacked by a strong Shinobi from one of the smaller villages, who wanted revenge on Konoha for the last war" Arashi replied.
Ruby's eyes went wide at the mention of war, but stayed quiet, letting Arashi continue
"He wasn't overly strong, but because we couldn't work as a team, he took us down one at a time, we would all be dead if it wasn't for Hanako sensei" Arashi added.
"She was the Jonin to who we had been assigned to, Team 4" Arashi paused, he looked like he was rather fond of the memory.
"She is an excellent fighter, she took the Shinobi out before we could blink, and then scolded us" Arashi said, with a smile on his face.
"She then took us all for dumplings" Arashi said.
"She was kind but strict, she worked us all through the night, getting us up to scratch" Arashi continued.
"After the near-death experience, Ryuu, Kamiko and I all went to the training grounds, we practised all night long, told stories and bonded, we started to work as a team" Arashi started smiling.
"It wasn't easy, we tripped along the way, but we always had each other's back from then on, and with Hanako sensei helping us, we became Chunin" Arashi said.
"So, while you may disagree, never forget, your team is the most important thing, the ones you can trust" Arashi stated.
'Usually' he thought to himself, thinking of Sasuke and Orochimaru.
"You may want to get on with Weiss, and that's admirable, but you also need to show her that she can rely on you to be the best leader you can be" Arashi stated.
"The best leaders lead from the front, by example, you will have to make tough decisions, and carry them with you for the rest of your life, you must be strong when those times come" Arashi said, talking from experience.
"However, you have four years to learn all that" Arashi added.
"You really think I'm good enough?" Ruby asked, still a little down.
"Mr Haruki is correct" Ozpin stated.
"I have made many mistakes, more than any person alive in our world, but making you a leader is not one" Ozpin added.
"Being a leader is a burden, few can carry properly, and as Mr Haruki stated, the decisions you make will live with you" Ozpin continued.
"But, as all with all things, if you do not even take the first step, then you will fail" Ozpin added.
"It's better to have failed doing your best than succeed at not trying" Arashi interjected.
Ruby seemed to perk up at this.
"Thank you, both of you" Ruby stated.
"You're welcome, Ms Rose" Ozpin stated.
Arashi just smiled.
Once Ruby had left, Ozpin looked at Arashi and spoke.
"You are wise for your age"
"Then again, you do have more combat experience than most people in this building" Ozpin added.
Arashi just smiled at Ozpin as he walked away, leaving Ozpin in the hallway.
It had been a few days since Arashi had spoken to Ruby about Weiss and things had looked to be getting a little better between them, they still had things to work out, but it was a step in the right direction.
Professor Goodwitch had the most interesting class, but as with everything in this world, it was all so very safe, Arashi thought.
"In a real battle all this nonsense would get them killed" Temari stated.
"No wonder they lost to us so easily" Temari added.
Arashi and Neji held in a chuckle while Shikamaru sighed.
Shikamaru looked bored, Neji and Arashi were the only two who feigned interest in the fight, even after the few weeks of this class, Jaune seemed to still lack even a basic concept of combat.
"How did he pass the entrance exam" Temari asked.
"Not sure, but that Ozpin must have some sort of plan" Arashi replied.
"Ozpin does seem like someone who always has some sort of plan" Neji stated.
"When it comes to tactics, Jaune scores quite high" Shikamaru pointed out.
"So, he's more suited to being a strategist" Arashi replied.
"Maybe, he still scores lower than us, and Pyrrha" Shikamaru stated.
"Speaking of her, here she comes now" Neji stated as she walked onto the stage to fight Cardin.
Neji activated his Byakugan, he wanted to watch this so-called 'invincible girl' in action.
"Really, you want to watch her fight him with those eyes?" Temari asked.
Neji watched closely, he could see that her Aura was being used efficiently, he noted how it flows more like water over the body rather than chakra running through the chakra network, and he could also see how it formed a protective barrier around the user.
"You fought in the war Neji, surely you must have seen aura in action" Arashi stated.
"I had very little frontline experience, we Genin mostly guarded the village and made supply runs" Neji replied.
"The only time I fought was against the metal soldiers of theirs" Neji added.
"Giant waste of resources, tin cans with nothing good inside them" Temari interrupted.
"They made good construction material" Shikamaru pointed out.
Temari shrugged as she relented, the metal from the robots and ships helped replace the resources lost in the war with Konoha.
It did not take long for Pyrrha to defeat Cardin.
"Perhaps you will choose your opponent more carefully next time Mr Winchester" Professor Goodwitch stated as Cardin retook his seat, in a foul mood.
"We have time for one more fight, would anyone like to challenge Miss Nikos?" Professor Goodwitch asked.
A few hands shot up, some went up more slowly, Yang's hand was highest in the air, and waving about.
Just as Professor Goodwitch was about to select a student, Pyrrha spoke up.
"Professor, if it's okay, I would like to challenge Arashi".
Professor Goodwitch was taken aback by this request.
Arashi looked at Pyrrha and smiled, "If it's okay with the Professor, it's okay with me" Arashi stated, drawing some worried glances from some of the students.
Temari snorted in amusement.
"There will be time for two matches then" she stated.
"I suppose it is fine" Professor Goodwitch stated while staring at Arashi, he could tell she was not happy with this, but there was no real reason for her to refuse, they were both students after all.
Ruby looked worried, she had watched Arashi take out two Grimm that both team RWBY and JNPR struggled with.
"As no aura meter will appear for you Mr Haruki, I will decide if you are able to continue or not, and Mr Haruki, I should not have to tell you that this is a tournament-style battle, not a warzone" Professor Goodwitch stated.
Arashi nodded as he walked towards the stage, around halfway Arashi brought out a scroll and released his Jonin combat gear from it, he quickly put them on, ignoring the looks he got when he took his shirt off.
He was toned, with well-defined muscles.
"Huba Huba" Yang stated, enjoying the sight.
The most striking thing though was the litany of scars across his body, this drew some whispers as the reality of what Shinobi are set in.
Yang seemed to be excited to watch the fight between Pyrrha and the Shinobi.
Weiss couldn't seem to care less.
"He's just someone they probably made Jonin to get rid of, not a real Jonin" Weiss stated.
"You know about Jonin?" Blake asked.
"Of course I do, I'm a Schnee after all, Jonin are elite Shinobi" Weiss stated feeling confident in her knowledge of the Elemental Nations.
"But what about those scars" Ruby stated, wondering if Arashi was okay.
"They send children to fight in wars, it shouldn't be surprising they have scars" Weiss stated.
"What about the forest?" Blake pointed out.
"You saw what the Hyūga boy did, and he is a Genin, the lowest rank of Shinobi" Weiss pointed out
As 'Arashi Haruki' appeared on the monitor something about the name seemed familiar to her, it was the Elemental symbols in brackets next to his name in Remnian.
Arashi Haruki (嵐春樹)
'So familiar' Weiss thought as she stared at the name, she was only brought out of her thought when Yang poked her side.
"What" Weiss asked somewhat startled.
"You were spacing out there, everything alright?" Yang asked.
"Uh… Yes, everything is fine, let's just watch the match" Weiss replied.
Yang raised an eyebrow and was about to question Weiss further, but the countdown had begun for the fight.
Arashi took his stance, while he knew this fight was going to be easy, he did not want to disrespect her by not taking it seriously.
Pyrrha had Miló in Xiphos form and Akoúo̱ raised, she had heard about Shinobi and was ready to see what they could do, as the countdown ended, she was expecting something, but he just stood there, watching her, in his odd stance, square on, hands high guarding the head and elbows flared out to the side rather than close in.
With trepidation, Pyrrha decided to make the first move, thrusting Miló forwards, Arashi dodged it, and as he did, Pyrrha went for a shield bash with Akoúo̱, but he also dodged that, not yet finished, Pyrrha used the momentum from the shield bash and her semblance to spin and then slash at Arashi with Miló, again, he dodged it.
Pyrrha then tried the Javelin form of Miló, thrusting at Arashi who dodged every strike, eventually, Pyrrha concluded that he far exceeded her in CQB, so she got some distance and tried Miló in rifle form, she shot at Arashi, but from seemingly nowhere Arashi pulled out a three-pronged kunai and deflected every bullet.
When Weiss saw the Kunai with three prongs, she felt sick, she knew who he was.
"The little flash of the leaf" Weiss whispered.
Weiss was quiet, so almost no one heard her, but Blake heard Weiss.
'The little flash of the leaf?" Blake wondered.
As the students watched it was quite a surprise, they knew that Pyrrha was a great fighter, but the Shinobi made her look pathetic.
As the last bullet was deflected, Pyrrha closed the distance quickly, changing Miló back into Xiphos form and slashed at Arashi, using every bit of experience she had, it made no difference, Arashi caught her wrist mid-strike like it was nothing.
Arashi then threw Pyrrha's arm backwards before spinning into a spin kick aimed at her head.
Pyrrha was able to manoeuvre Akoúo̱ to block the kick from hitting her head.
The kick forced Pyrrha's arm into her head and she heard the metal of Akoúo̱ creak under the weight of the kick, Pyrrha was pushed back against her will, using the energy imparted onto her from the kick she used her semblance to generate a spin of her own, bringing Miló to bare.
Arashi parried this strike with the three-pronged Kunai, leaving Pyrrha open to attack.
Arashi thrust his fist at Pyrrha's sternum, he hit. Knocking the wind out of Pyrrha and sending her flying into one of the walls.
The wall was undamaged, but Pyrrha's Aura was shattered in one single hit, and she was gasping for air.
"MR HARUKI" Professor Goodwitch shouted.
Arashi snapped his head to the left to look at Professor Goodwitch.
"Oops" Arashi said smiling apologetically.
He walked over to Pyrrha and offered his hand, she took it and got to her feet, the wind still knocked out of her.
"Ouch" she said rubbing her chest, taking deep breaths.
"Sorry" Arashi stated to Pyrrha.
"Mr Haruki, you should have held back" Professor Goodwitch stated, clearly annoyed.
"I did" Arashi stated nonchalantly, much to the shock of everyone.
Pyrrha would still periodically gasp for air, her Aura had never felt so drained, so drained that it couldn't start the healing process on her sternum.
Weiss sat in disbelief, 'Why is he here' she thought.
Yang wanted to fight Arashi now more than ever, Ruby and the rest of JNPR were worried for Pyrrha, they had never seen anything punch through Aura so easily and then drain it to empty.
Blake just sat there.
"Then hold back more, in future" Professor Goodwitch stated.
Arashi just smiled.
"Miss Nikos, you should go to the infirmary, to make sure there is no serious damage" Professor Goodwitch stated.
Arashi turned and headed for his team, looking over at Pyrrha and saying "Sorry for that".
"It's no problem, I asked to face you after all" Pyrrha smiled weakly.
Pyrrha turned and headed for the infirmary.
Once Pyrrha was alone in the entrance tunnel she thought 'So that's what you faced over there, dad?', as she began to tear up.
"Now remember, the Vytal festival is only a few months away, it won't be long until students from the other Kingdoms will be arriving in Vale, so keep training, those who choose to compete will be representing all of Vale." Professor Goodwitch stated.
As Arashi left the stage he could see Ruby, Yang and Weiss getting excited at the mention of the festival.
In the corner, alone was Jaune, he seemed down.
Arashi was going to go over to him, but Ren and Nora got to him first, so Arashi went back to his team.
"I wonder what's for lunch today?" Arashi asked.
"The food is surprisingly good here" Temari stated.
"As long as it's not the Ramen, then yes I would agree, still prefer our food though" Arashi replied.
Neji and Shikamaru both thought of the same person at the mention of Ramen.
"Say, Arashi, do you know how Naruto is doing?" Shikamaru asked.
Temari looked at Shikamaru at the mention of the blonde who beat Gaara two years ago now.
"Tsunade-Sama said he is doing fine; Jiraiya-Sama was able to keep him from the war" Arashi replied.
"I could picture Naruto trying to end the war himself" Neji stated.
"Tsunade-Sama said the exact same thing" Arashi replied laughing.
"Shall we head for lunch?" Arashi asked the three.
They nodded and headed for the cafeteria.
Arashi decided to try what people on remnant called a 'burger' today, while Shikamaru and Neji took the rice dish and Temari took the noodle dish.
"Being adventurous?" Temari stated, looking at the burger.
"How do you even eat that?" Shikamaru asked.
"Well, by the looks of it you use your hands" Arashi replied.
As the four were going to head for the usual corner Ruby shouted for them to come over and sit with them.
"You aren't going to" Temari began to state before she was cut off by Arashi saying "We'd love to."
"I hate you" Temari stated flatly.
"Oh, come on, make the most of the four years" Arashi replied.
"Didn't you volunteer to come here" Shikamaru asked.
Temari rolled her eyes and followed her teammates to the table with teams RWBY and JNPR, minus Pyrrha
"I verse you next" Yang stated.
Everyone at the table looked at her.
"What, I want to test myself" Yang stated.
"How could you just put her in the infirmary like that" Weiss asked, outraged.
"I held back as much as I could" Arashi replied.
"I knew you Shinobi were all brutes" Weiss stated.
"Oh common Weiss, I'm sure they are not bad" Ruby said, with her usual optimism.
Weiss was brisker to Arashi now, than even earlier today, Arashi thought.
"Have I done something to offend, Your highness?" Arashi asked Weiss mockingly.
Weiss narrowed her eye at Arashi.
"Little flash of the Leaf" Weiss stated.
Arashi smiled, it was only a matter of time before they found out.
"You said that in class, what does it mean?" Blake asked
"Konoha no Chīsana Senkō, or the Little flash of the Leaf" Arashi stated in both languages.
"It's what I'm known as" Arashi stated.
"Why little, you aren't that short?" Yang asked.
Arashi chuckled, "It's not to do with my height, I use the Flying Raijin Jutsu, that was used by the Fourth Hokage" Arashi stated.
"He was known as the Yellow Flash of the Leaf since I am slower than him, by A LOT" Arashi continued.
"I got the name Little flash of the Leaf" Arashi added.
"I guess that makes sense" Blake pointed out.
Ruby noticed that Jaune seemed distant and turned to him, asking if he was okay as he was getting bullied by Cardin, Jaune tried to play it down, but you didn't need to be a Shinobi to read Jaune like a book, he was feeling down because of it.
Jaune got up and left the table before Ruby could say anything else.
As everyone was talking a voice could be heard pleading.
"Ow, please stop it, that hurts" a girl with bunny ears pleaded.
"Told you they were real" Cardin stated while pulling the ears.
"What a freak" Russel laughed.
"It must be hard to be a Faunus" Yang added.
Arashi narrowed his eyes at Cardin.
"Aw man, now he's done it" Shikamaru stated in a bored tone, knowing exactly what was about to happen.
The others turned wondering what Shikamaru meant by that, only to turn back to Cardin when they heard him scream "WHO THREW THAT"
They saw a three-pronged kunai glowing with blue lightning, Arashi threw the Hiraishin kunai in a way it would graze Cardin.
The shock caused him to let go of the girl's ears.
"I SAID WHO THREW THAT" Cardin demanded.
Arashi then appeared at the kunai having used the Hiraishin, he gripped Cardin's wrist tightly.
Arashi coldly store at Cardin, saying nothing.
Cardin wanted to say something, but the grip told him all he needed to know, the grip Arashi had was like a vice, Cardin swore he could feel the metal plates of his wrist guard bend slightly.
Arashi let go of Cardin and the four members of team CRDL walked out of the cafeteria.
Arashi picked up his kunai, it had embedded itself in the table.
"Um, th… thank you" the girl said.
"No worries" Arashi replied with a smile
'Warm' the girl thought before running off from embarrassment.
"That was nice of you" Ruby stated as Arashi retook his seat.
"I don't like bullies" Arashi replied, finishing his burger like nothing had happened
"Fast" Blake thought, in shock.
"He might be even faster than you sis" Yang stated, she is often able to track Ruby when she uses her semblance, but that was untraceable.
Ruby squirmed, her thing was speed and Arashi might be even faster than her.
"That was the Flying Raijin Jutsu by the way" Arashi pointed out.
The group looked shocked.
"The thing you are, apparently, slow in?" Blake asked.
"Just how fast is the Fourth Hokage" Blake added.
"He was the fastest person to live, he died around 14 years ago" Arashi replied.
"Oh, sorry" Blake said to Arashi.
"It's fine, his legacy lives on" Arashi replied with a smile, the statement having a double meaning.
The Remnians didn't know what that meant and Neji, Shikamaru and Temari all thought Arashi was talking about the Jutsu, they were half right.
Professor Goodwitch wanted to do something about Arashi throwing a Kunai at Cardin, but Ozpin pointed out that it would look bad if they gave Arashi into trouble for defending a Faunus, it would make them look bad to the Faunus students.
Glynda relented.
After lunch it was time for the next class, history, taught by Doctor Oobleck, the man would zip around class, Arashi and Shikamaru had taken a liking to the history class. Pyrrha was out of the infirmary and made it to class, with no injuries, only some bruising, she had been given painkillers and sent on her way.
Arashi didn't look it, but he was a lover of academic studies, knowing the past helped prepare you for the future was one of his main reasons for studying history and learning about Remnant's history could help with peace, or a future invasion.
As class wrapped up, Doctor Oobleck had told Cardin and Jaune to stay after class due to Cardin's outburst and Jaune for not paying attention.
Pyrrha waited for Jaune, while the rest left, including the four Shinobi.
It was getting late, and Arashi was walking the grounds, he was having a smoke to pass some time before bed.
"You know those things will kill you?" Pyrrha stated when she saw Arashi.
"We're all going to die at some point, may as well enjoy life while you have it" Arashi replied, taking a draw from his cigarette and exhaling through his nose.
"You're uncomfortable around us" Arashi stated, he had noticed it from the few interactions they have had thus far.
Pyrrha was taken aback by this, she wasn't sure what to say.
"I get it, we're the Shinobi you've heard about, the bloodthirsty killers and child soldiers who can wield the elements like magic" Arashi said.
"With you though, it's something… More" Arashi noted.
"How" Pyrrha said very quietly, not sure if she wanted an answer.
"When we fought, I could tell, you have internal conflict" Arashi replied.
He noticed her discomfort and said "You don't have to say if you don't want to".
"Thanks" Pyrrha replied feeling relieved he wouldn't press the issue.
"Whatever it is, that's not why you are out here tonight, right?" Arashi half asked half stated.
Pyrrha looked up once again at the brown-haired Shinobi as he exhaled more smoke.
'Am I that easy to read?' she thought.
"It's Jaune" Pyrrha stated.
"Ah, the Jaune-Cardin saga continues" Arashi replied.
"Cardin shoved him to the ground earlier, he asked to be left alone" Pyrrha stated.
"I wanted to offer him training but I haven't seen him since class" Pyrrha added.
"He will take that as you showing pity, he will feel like the helpless person who always needs saving if you offer" Arashi replied.
"But" Pyrrha said, stopping herself, she knew he was right.
"However," Arashi stated.
"If I take him for training over the weekend" Arashi added.
"What?" Pyrrha queried.
"You would do that?" Pyrrha asked, somewhat shocked.
"We aren't as bad as you have been led to believe" Arashi replied.
Pyrrha looked at Arashi for a moment as what he said sunk in.
"N… No, I didn't mean it like that" Pyrrha said apologetically.
"I just meant you hardly know us" Pyrrha continued.
"That's why it's better, I'm not taking pity on a friend" Arashi replied.
"Do you not consider us friends?" Pyrrha asked, looking Arashi in the eyes.
"Do you?" Arashi turned the question back on her.
Pyrrha wasn't sure what to say.
"Also, we are all in this school together, that means we all have a connection with one another" Arashi added, extinguishing his cigarette.
"I can train over the weekend" Arashi stated.
"See how things go and take it from there" Arashi added.
"If he agrees, it might do him good, but" Pyrrha stated.
"You're worried about it being too much, if you mollycoddle him, he will never learn, and he will eventually resent you for it." Arashi pointed out bluntly.
Pyrrha sighed in resignation, she knew he was right.
"It's Saturday tomorrow, I will take him for training" Arashi stated.
"Do not look for us, your presence will distract him" Arashi added.
Arashi then left Pyrrha alone with her thoughts and headed to his dorm room.
He opened the door with his scroll and proceeded to tell his team what he would be up to.
Alone on the roof, Jaune sat, "I shouldn't have pushed Pyrrha away, she was only trying to help" he thought.
"I should say sorry" Jaune continued thinking.
"You really should have better awareness of your surroundings" Arashi stated.
Jaune looked up, he had gotten a fright at the sudden voice, as he looked up, he saw Arashi, in full combat gear.
"Put your armour on, we are going to train for the next two days" Arashi stated, throwing Jaune his armour and weapons
"Uhm… What?" Jaune replied.
"We are going to train" Arashi stated.
"No, I'm sick of being the lovable idiot stuck in the tree" Jaune stated with tears in his eyes.
"I want to be the hero" Jaune added.
"The hero, hmm?" Arashi questioned.
"How do you expect to get there with your skills" Arashi asked Jaune.
"You have a complete lack of confidence and your basic combat skills are pathetic" Arashi put it bluntly.
"You will not get anywhere with your skills and if you train alone, you will not grow out of your mistakes" Arashi stated.
"Now put your armour on" Arashi ordered.
Jaune looked right into Arashi's eyes, he was serious.
'This isn't a request' Jaune realised.
As Jaune picked up his armour, Arashi put his hand on Jaunes back.
"Let's go" Arashi said, activating the Hiraishin teleporting both he and Jaune to the area Arashi had chosen for training.
And there we have it, chapter 3.
