"The witch had been killed last night."
"What?"
Scissors nodded. "It seems your father sent a Bounty Huntress after her. The Mistress of the Forest has fallen. I'm sorry." It kneeled and lowered its head. "It was inevitable, I'm afraid. I knew this would happen..."
Ori walked off, Scissors getting up and following. Stapler followed after. Ori walked into his father's room. Peter was already awake and flipped a hood over his head.
"Ah, Ori. Just the person I wanted to see." He turned. He was wearing a red jacket with the hood flipped over his head and a brown belt with a gold buckle near the bottom. "I wanted to give you one of these as well. If you wander around the kingdom as the King, you won't be able to see how they truly act with you not there." He held up a yellow version of his jacket. He neatly folded it and passed it to Ori.
"Father, I heard news that the Mistress of the Forest had been murdered. Did you know anything about that?'
"Huh? But why do you assume I had done such a thing?"
"You seemed interested in removing her yesterday afternoon." Ori picked up a small jar and turned it around in his hands. "You didn't send a Bounty Huntress after her, did you? I said I'd do something about you if you had."
Peter shook his head. "No, I set her free. But I had heard about the Huntress. She may be after you next, Ori-kun; stay alert. There are a lot of people who wish to remove of our Kingdom. Since you are now King for the time being, they will go after you."
"Thank you for the information." Ori noticed a case filled to the brim laying open on Peter's bed. "Hmph. Say, what are you doing with that suitcase, father?"
He was packing away clothing, books, and other things. Peter shut it and clicked the seals down.
"This is part of your trial, Ori-kun." He picked it up by the handle. "You won't learn unless you do. So, I will take a temporary leave until your trial is fulfilled. Upon my return, I will see how your Kingdom held up."
Ori watched his father leave, then left the room as well, taking the protection jar with him. Scissors awaited Ori's return outside of the door the entire time. Stapler happily followed Ori again as he headed towards the throne room.
There sat Peter's throne. Looking at it just disgusted Ori. The whole Kingdom only reminded him of his now absent father. He wanted to fix everything to the way Ori would like it. But how? It would take years to rebuild the entire Kingdom and Peter would be back in three weeks.
"Scissors, do you have a way to change our Kingdom within three weeks?"
"There could be a way, but it depends on your powers, my King."
"We both know very well I have none, Scissors."
"You could be a late spring flower."
"Hm? What do you mean?"
"Your sister is taller than you and already has some sort of healing ability. You are the elder sibling, which means you would be taller and your abilities would be stronger."
"But..."
"There needs to be some reason why your powers have not shown yet. So I decided on the fact you may have a late start."
"Hm...fair point. You may be onto something."
"If we just give it some time, you may have your abilities by the end of your trial."
"Whatever. This throne disgusts me and I wish for it to be removed. Meanwhile, I will try to see if my power will awaken sometime soon."
"Yes, of course, my King. I will make sure the throne is removed immidiently." It bowed. "One last question, King Ori."
"Yes, what is it?"
"What do you wish for your throne to look like?"
Ori thought for a moment. "I am named off of the beautiful craft of origami. I would like an origami throne."
"But, my King, that will not hold up. Paper will crumble entirely-"
"Then find a way."
"...O-of course."
