"'Part of the ritual to unlock hidden abilities is to meditate. Once you find the energy, grab onto it mentally and focus on it.'"

The book contained useful information about unlocking abilities, recognising abilities, controlling abilities, and the different types of powers in the royal family throughout the generations. Ori had noticed it in Peter's room when he was having a conversation with him earlier. The book also included a certian way to have your hand when doing the meditation.

Ori sat down and crossed his legs. He made his hands into fists just like the picture demonstrated and put them against each other. He rested them in his lap and closed his eyes...

He reopened them in a dark room. He stood up.

"Hello? I am searching for my powers. All the royals of the past have some and I believe that I do as well."

There was utter silence.

"What would my powers look like?"

Ori walked for a little bit before spotting a small purple flame. He crouched down to it and reached for it, but it vanished and appeared further away from him.

"That must be it." Ori stood back up. He rushed at it, but it still vanished. "Being stubborn I see. This will not be easy."

He followed it until it dissappeared entirely. Fires flickered on torches burning infinetly on the walls. It looked like a hall in the palace. A very specific one...Ori spotted the Sprit Flame somewhere down the hall and ran after it. He passed a doorway, but backed up to see where it led.

Peter was kneeling next to Ori's bed frame. Ori, about six years of age, was crying. Ori remembered this. It was when Tonya...

"Ori-kun, I'm sorry that this happened but..."

Young Ori sniffed and rubbed the tears off of his face.

"I know you will miss your mother, but Tonya will no longer be with us." Peter put a hand on young Ori's shoulder. "I will make sure you become a fair and kind King, alright?"

Young Ori nodded.

Peter pat him. "Now get some rest. The furneral will take place tomorrow."

"That's when father started being extremely srtict on me." Ori spotted the Spirit Flame not far off, so he persued it. "Wait up!"

Ori missed his mother. She had died by being murdered, but he was never told who had done it. Peter said it was a witch's fault but Ori never had any proof to believe so.

"Spirit Flames are small bits of your magical abilities. They normally come in groups of three, but sometimes, depending on how strong the power is, there could be more.

"Do not scare them, as there have been some reports of people's powers vanishing after they had done so accidentally.

"Be weary. Sometimes Nightmare Spirits can be confused for Spirit Flames. Nightmare Spirits are not what you are searching for.

"Nightmare Spirits are dangerous tricksters that pretend to be Spirit Flames to lead people into a never-ending slumber. Nightmare Spirits are created by negative emotions, thoughts, and actions. There more vile a person is, the more likely they are to be controlled by these dangerous creatures."

There was a diagram showing the makeup of a Spirit Flame and the colors they come in. There was red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. Ori just had a feeling that what he was after was a Spirit Flame but, there was no known purple Spirit Flame in existance.

The Nightmare Spirits however, they came in purple and black. Ori hoped that it was a Spirit Flame, because if he were to fall into a never-ending slumber while being King...that would be disasterous.

Ori skid to a stop as the Spirit Flame he was following regrouped into a large room filled with them. Ori tested the door to find it locked.

"So that's why I cannot reach my powers..." Ori backed from the door a little. "I need to find a way in..." He felt the door until his fingertip sunk into a keyhole. "Ah, there is a key needed, I see. But where would the key be at?"

He turned around to find a small Nightmare Spirit behind him, wriggling the key around in the air to make it clink. It was a black version of them.

"You. I need that key." Ori swiped at the key, but the Nightmare Spirit brought it away from him. "You trapped them there, did you not?"

It slowly started off, away from Ori and the door.

"I'm not falling for that." Ori brought a bobby pin out of his pocket and started at the keyhole with it.

It stopped and threw the key at Ori's head. Ori rubbed the back of his head and shot it a look. He grabbed the key and unlocked the door.

"Ah, there we go." Ori opened the door and walked inside, quickly shutting the door behind him to prevent the Nightmare Spirit from entering.

There were so many of them. A hundred, at least. Ori was surprised to see how many there were. Ori slowly walked into the center of the room and the Spirit Flames came nearer...
